In this paper, we present a schematic method estimating the tracking vibration quantity occurring in the track-following system of an optical recording device. A tracking loop gain adjustment algorithm is introduced to estimate accurately the tracking vibration quantity in spite of the uncertainties of the tracking actuator, Accordingly, the tracking vibration quantity can be estimated from the tracking error, the controller output, the nominal actuator model, and a compensated gain. An optimal tracking controller can be designed from a minimum tracking open-loop gain calculated by the estimated tracking vibration quantity The proposed vibration quantity estimation and controller design method are applied to the track-following system of an optical recording device and are evaluated through the experimental result.
This paper presents a robust tracking controller design method for the track-following system of an optical recording device. A tracking loop gain adjustment algorithm is introduced to accurately estimate the tracking vibration quantity in spite of the uncertainties of the tracking actuator. A minimum tracking open-loop gain is calculated by the estimated tracking vibration quantity and a tolerable limit of tracking error. A robust tracking controller is designed by considering a robust $H_\infty$ control problem with the weighting function of a slightly larger gain than the minimum tracking open-loop gain. The proposed controller design method is applied to the track-following system of an optical recording device and is evaluated through the experimental result.
This paper presents a tracking vibration estimation system of the track-following system using a tracking loop gain adjustment algorithm and a genetic algorithm. The algorithms are introduced to estimate accurately the tracking vibration quantity in spite of the uncertainties of the tracking actuator. An estimated actuator model can be found by applying a genetic algorithm. Accordingly, the tracking vibration quantity can be estimated from the measured tracking error, the tracking controller and the estimated actuator model. The proposed tracking vibration estimation method is applied to the track-following system of an optical recording device and is evaluated through the experimental result.
Revenue management (RM) has been widely used to model products characterized as perishable. Classical RM model assumed that price is the sole factor in the model. Thus price adjustment becomes a crucial and costly factor in business. In this paper, an optimal pricing model is developed based on minimization of soft customer cost, one kind of price adjustment cost and is solved by Lagrange multiplier method. It is formed by expected discounted revenue/bid price integrating quantity-based RM and pricing-based RM. Quantity-based RM consists of two capacity models, namely, booking limit and overbooking. Booking limit, built by assuming uncertain customer arrival, decides the optimal capacity allocation for two market segments. Overbooking determines the level of accepted order exceeding capacity to anticipate probability of cancellation. Furthermore, pricing-based RM models occupancy/demand rate influenced by internal and competitor price changes. In this paper, a mathematical model based on game theoretic approach is developed for two conditions of deterministic and stochastic demand. Based on the equilibrium point, the best strategy for both hotels can be determined.
Objective: The aim of this study was to provide a method to improve the compliance and reduce the time by reducing the workload during the model change work. Background: The enterprises are constructing the small quantity batch production system by increasing the number of model change and reducing model-changing. However, the compliance is low because the work is strenuous and high skills are needed, so the system management is facing with many difficulties. Method: After classifying the model change work according to the purposes(preparation, change and adjustment) with the target of mascara filling machine, element tasks time were measured and the motion analysis(therblig symbol) and REBA analysis were performed. The study incorporated 3 independent variables as the number of motion, REBA score and the element time. The dependent variable is the type of element work as preparation, change and adjustment. The statistical test was performed by one-way ANOVA(${\alpha}$ < 0.05). Results: For the preparation, the number of motions appeared in the order of Use(U), Transport Loaded(TL), and Position(P). The order appeared in change is Use(U), Release Load(RL), and Grasp (G). The adjustment appeared in the order of Position(P) and Use(U). The results of average motion time as the element work times divided by the number of motion appeared in the order of adjustment(1.85sec/motion), preparation(1.11sec/motion), and change(0.62sec/motion). The results of REBA showed that the average risk level of change and adjustment were medium, but 53.1% of change and 42.9% of adjustment were evaluated as high. Conclusion: Reducing the avoidance and improving the compliance of work could be expected if the job autonomy were improved by improving the working postures with high risk level. Application: It is expected to solve the problem of reducing the time of model change work in the small quantity batch production system. The future work is to carry out the improvement directions found in the results and compare the results after improvement.
Many organizations are currently adjusting the statistical forecasts with qualitative factors. However, so for a few forecasting system with adjustment process have been developed. They have difficulties in managing knowledge and estimating the quantity of adjustment. In this study, the forecasting support system adopting the frame based knowledge representation and containing the decision making scheme for adjustment is proposed to overcome these difficulties. According to the experiments, the proposed system improves the forecasting performance on gasoline case.

Construction cost index is generally used to estimate the new project cost based on past construction data and to adjust contract cost when the price change of various articles and items of expenditure composing the contract occurs. In Korea, it is mostly used for adjustment of construction contract cost due to fluctuation of prices. However index adjustment rate which is used for adjustment of construction contract cost had some problems in calculating cost index of each expenditure item that could not reflect properly the change of construction cost. For supplementing these problems, the research of developing construction cost index has been executed. Through the precedent research, these problems were partially resolved but still remain. Therefore this research proposes method of making cost index that utilizes representative items of labor, material, and equipment by analyzing bill of quantity of road construction, through analysis and comparison of precedent study. By using this method, it is expected to solve problems which were not reflected in precedent studies.

PURPOSE. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of occlusal and interproximal adjustments of single implant crowns (SIC), comparing a digital cast-free approach (CF) and a protocol using 3D printed casts (PC). MATERIALS AND METHODS. A titanium implant was inserted at position of lower right first molar in a typodont. The implant position was scanned using an intraoral scanner and SICs were fabricated accordingly. Ten crowns (CF; n = 10) were subject to a digital cast-free workflow without any labside occlusal and interproximal modifications. Ten other identical crowns (PC) were adjusted to 3D printed casts before delivery. All crowns were then adapted to the testing model, simulating chair-side adjustments during clinical placement. Adjustment time, quantity of adjustments, and contact relationship were assessed. Data were analyzed using SPSS software (P < .05). RESULTS. Median and interquartile range (IQR) of clinical adjustment time was 02:44 (IQR 00:45) minutes in group CF and 01:46 (IQR 00:21) minutes in group PC. Laboratory and clinical adjustment time in group PC was 04:25 (IQR 00:59) minutes in total. Mean and standard deviation (±SD) of root mean squared error (RMSE) of quantity of clinical adjustments was 45 ± 7 ㎛ in group CF and 34 ± 6 ㎛ in group PC. RMSE of total adjustments was 61 ± 11 ㎛ in group PC. Quality of occlusal contacts was better in group CF. CONCLUSION. Time effort for clinical adjustments was higher in the cast-free protocol, whereas quantity of modifications was lower, and the occlusal contact relationship was found more favourable.
This paper presents a method for a congestion management in the competitive market which is modeled as the multiple bilateral transaction. Traditionary, the congestion management for the multiple bilateral transaction is accomplished through the process of adjustment bids. It is necessary in for the market entity to submit their price information when the congestion is occured. Finally, the ISOs can be blown about the approximated contract price of participants from the price of adjustment bids. However, the entities can submit only the amount of their contract to ISOs and ISOs are required the method to manage the congestion only by the contracted quantity. Therefore, this paper presents a method for congestion management by curtailing the only contracted quantity of market entities. To evaluated the above problem, we suggest Bilateral Transaction Distribution Factors(BTDFs), which is the sensitivity of line flow with curtailment of transactions. Using this factor, we studied about congestion management when the objective function is to minimize total curtailment of transaction.
