Purpose: The objective of this paper was to analyze the requirements of the end-users by class after carrying out a survey on the user requirements for sleeping bags and utilize the result for effective product development. Methods: The test for difference in means by class was conducted through one sample analysis and one-way ANOVA after the survey result has gone through a reliability verification, and an LSD (Least Significant Difference) test was conducted as a post-mortem method. Results: A significant result was derived from the survey on the user requirements for sleeping bags by method of use, use of combination of sleeping bag components or a sleeping bag alone. Conclusion: The significant result derived from the survey of this paper on the user requirements for sleeping bags can be utilized for effective development of sleeping bags.
In this paper, we propose a two-stage base station (BS) sleeping scheme to save energy consumption in cellular networks. The BS sleeping mode is divided into a light sleeping stage and a deep sleeping stage according to whether there is a user in the BS's coverage. In the light sleeping stage, a BS will retain its coverage and frequently switch between the on state and the doze state according to the service characteristics. While in the deep sleeping stage analysis, the BS will shut down its coverage, and neighbor BSs will patch the coverage hole. Several closed-form formulas are derived to demonstrate the power consumption in each sleeping stage and the stage switching conditions are discussed to minimize the average power consumption. The average traffic delay caused by BS sleeping and the average deep sleeping rate under a given traffic load have also been studied. In addition, it is shown that BS sleeping is not always possible because of the limited quality of service (QoS) requirements. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can effectively reduce the average BS power consumption, at the cost of some extra traffic delay. In summary, our proposed framework provides an essential understanding of the design of future green networks that aim to take full advantage of different stages of BS sleeping to obtain the best energy efficiency.
Background: Fatigue and sleepiness are inter-related and common among road transport drivers. In this study, sleep deprivation and fatigue among chemical transportation drivers were examined. Methods: A cross-sectional study surveying 107 drivers from three hazardous types of chemical production and transportation industries (nonflammable gases, flammable gases, and flammable liquids) was conducted. Data on sleep deprivation were collected using questionnaires of the Stanford Sleeping Scale and the Groningen Sleep Quality Scale. Fatigue was assessed using an interview questionnaire and a flicker fusion instrument. Results: Chemical drivers had a mean sleeping scale (Stanford Sleeping Scale) of 1.98 (standard deviation 1.00) and had a mean score of 1.89 (standard deviation 2.06) on the Groningen Sleep Quality Scale. High-risk drivers had higher scores in both the Stanford Sleeping Scale and the Groningen Sleep Quality Scale with a mean score of 2.59 and 4.62, respectively, and those differences reached statistical significance (p < 0.05). The prevalence of fatigue, as assessed through a critical flicker fusion analyzer, subjective fatigue question, and either of the instruments, was 32.32%, 16.16%, and 43.43%, respectively. Drivers who slept <7 hours and had poor sleep quality were found to have more fatigue than those who slept enough and well. Drivers who had a more sleepiness score resulted in significantly more objective fatigue than those who had a less sleepiness score. Conclusion: Sleep quality and sleeping hour can affect a driver's fatigue. Optimization of work-rest model should be considered to improve productivity, driver retention, and road safety.
Sleeping cars mean railroad cars which are equipped with facilities available business, travel, rest, sleep for long distance travel. Domestic sleeping cars , as the concept of ‘night train’, provide passenger who travel at night with simple berth . German, Japanese, American sleeping cars are classified with sleeping car, coach car, seat car or first class, standard class, family room, room for the handicapped, which offer not only sleep but various facilities and service such as snack, reading, available shower for daytime travel. Accordingly, through the analyzing spatial factor of domestic and foreign sleeping cars, we first should abstract the demand for fundamental design to enhance our passenger's comfort. And then we should try to improve the quality of travel culture by offering it passenger.
Purpose. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors affecting quality of sleep and sleep disturbance among inpatient. Methods. A descriptive correlational study was conducted Participants were 200 inpatient in a hospital located in B city. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. Result. Hospitalized patient's score of sleeping quality was 38.26 on an overall scale of 60, indicating it to be higher than 'Medium (30 points). Almost hospitalized patient in this study suffer from sleep disturbances. As results of univariate analyses, Educational level, Departments, Why hospitalized, Insomnia / depression, Chronic Disease, Scale of pain, physical symptoms, environmental factors, emotional factors, and sleep promoting behavior, disturbed sleep among hospitalized. However, the result of stepwise multiple regression analysis identified that physical symptoms, environmental factors, emotional factors, sleep promoting behavior, and Why hospitalized disturbed sleep and were significant score of sleeping quality for hospitalized and these sleep disturbance factors accounted 46.8% of variance of sleeping quality among hospitalized. Conclusion. These findings suggest that hospitalized patients with poor sleep quality should have their health carefully screened for physical symptoms, environmental factors, emotional factors, sleep promoting behavior, and why hospitalized. In addition, we recommend the development of a nursing program for improving sleep quality.
Purpose: The purposes of this study were to (a) explore the prevalence of sleep patterns of middle-aged women; (b) identify the relationship between subjective sleep quality and its related variables; and (c) predict the possible explanations of how the related factors affect subjective sleep quality of middle-aged women. Methods: A total of 256 women aged 40-60 years were purposely sampled and given self-administered questionnaires in a cross-sectional, correlation coefficient design. The data was analysed using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The results were as follows; (a) a total of 40% of the women were poor sleepers as defined by a global PSQI score >5; (b) there were significant differences in quality of sleep related to type of family, number of present illnesses, and use of medication; (c) health promoting behaviors, family functioning, depression, and climacteric symptoms were significantly related to subjective sleep quality; and (d) 34% of variance in subjective sleep quality can be explained by climacteric symptoms, depression, type of family, and spouse. Conclusions: Our findings suggested a high proportion of poor sleeping in middle-aged women. Poor sleeping appeared to have poor health promoting behaviors, lower family functioning, worse depression, and higher climacteric symptoms. Climacteric symptoms, depression, type of family, and spouse were independent risk factors for poor sleeping. Nurse professionals should screen for sleep problems in middle-aged women with a biopsychosocial and behavioral aspect.
With the advent of the fourth industrial revolution in recent years, the field of health care services is getting attention again. Accordingly, personalized medical systems through smart products are emerging in various forms. With the use of wearable tech and sensor system, health management and monitoring can be done anytime, anywhere without help of others. However, healthcare services for pregnant women are very scarce. Due to the low fertility rate the number of obstetrics and gynecology is decreasing and as a result, environment surrounding the uncomfortable pregnant women is getting worse. Pregnant women are unable to take a comfortable sleeping posture due to pregnancy. Various environmental factors such as noise, temperature and humidity decrease the quality of sleeping of pregnant women and hinder happy preaching. The purpose of this study is to develop a UI design that can manage sleeping by providing good sleeping posture information and improved sleeping environment for the health of pregnant women. We expect to apply the sensor technology of the 4th industrial age to maximize the sleep quality and quality of life of expectant mothers.

Background & Objective, Methods: This study aims to analyze the reason why if university students feel lack of sleep and study how much we know about correct sleeping habits and thus increase attention on correct sleeping habits and prepare plans for applying this into our lives thus 210 male and female students from 2 universities in Daegu were studied during May 10 and 15 of 2006 and the summary and results are as follows. Results: Sleeping is very important since it as much as takes about 1/3 of our lives. However, most of students do not sleep well. Therefore, this study researched the reason for not sleeping well and the status on incorrect sleeping habits subjecting 210 university students. The results of this research showed that average sleeping hours are for $6{\sim}8$ hours and majority of students went to bed before lam and got up before 7am. Majority of students went to bed late to watch TV or doing computers from both male and female students followed by attending various gatherings. It took $10{\sim}20$ minutes to fall asleep and reasons for waking up while sleeping was with no special reason. The most sleepy time was after meals at 39% followed by during class, during daytime, while using transportations. More female students answered to take nap than male students and majority of them answered as taking nap for less than 2 hours. And, 51% answered that they slept well and 49% answered that they did not, and majority of them answered the reason for not sleeping well as being sensitive, or because of dreams and nightmares. Chronic fatigue was the biggest cause for lack of sleeping followed by fall in concentration, skin diseases. Conclusions: The results of this study showed that we need to take plenty of sleep by exercising regularly or sleeping for daily appropriate hours, maintaining peaceful mind before going to bed, avoid taking naps and limiting the time for watching TV and doing computers to develop correct sleeping habits. Also, we hope that it will Provide an opportunity to live healthy and quality lives mentally as well as physically by realizing and practicing the importance and necessity of sleeping.

Objectives: This study investigated how income, duration of illness, social stigma, quality of sleeping, ADL and social participation related to Parkinson's disease(PD) predict depression in a conceptual model based on the International Classification of Functioning(ICF) model. Methods: The sample included 206 adults with idiopathic Parkinson's disease(IPD) attending D university hospital in B Metro-politan City. A structured questionnaire was used and conducted face-to-face interviews. The collected data were analyzed for fitness, using the AMOS 18.0 program. Results: A path analysis showed that the overall model provided empirical evidence for linkages in the ICF model. Depression was manifested by significant direct effects of social stigma(${\beta}=.20$, p<.001), quality of sleeping(${\beta}=-.40$, p<.001), ADL(${\beta}=-.20$, p<.01), and social participation(${\beta}=-.12$, p<.05), indirect effects including income(p<.05), duration of illness(p<.05). These variables explained 45.9% of variance in the prediction model. Conclusions: This model may help nurses to collect and assess information to develop intervention program for depression.

Purpose : We conducted a study to propose comparing subjective sleeping states data that was collected through scientifically measuring by using smartwatch and surveys for seafarers. In addition, we conducted a study to provide sleep though analysis of the environmental factors that influence the sleep efficiency of seafarers. Methods : For scientific measurement of seafarers' sleeping states, we measured the sleep hours and sleep efficiency for at least 3 days by using the healthcare function of smartwatches which are wearable devices. As for subjective sleeping states, we collected data on sleep hours and satisfaction rates on the quality of sleep through a survey. Lastly, as for the environmental factors that affect the sleep efficiency which is measured by smartwatches such as physical environment, bedroom space, bedroom furniture, bedding, a survey by self-evaluation method was conducted. Results : There were significant differences in the scientific sleep hours measurement values for all seafarers and the average sleep hours in the subjective survey. There were significant differences in the scientific sleep efficiency measurements of all the seafarers and the sleep satisfaction of the subjective survey, and there was no correlation between the scientific sleep efficiency and the subjective sleep satisfaction of all the seafarers. Among the environmental factors affecting the sleep efficiency of the seafarers, humidity variable had the most influence, and vibration and illuminance variables were also shown to have a very significant effect. Conclusion : We propose the measuring method that can analyze the quantitative and qualitative sleep states of the seafarers by using small activity recorders. In addition, it is very important to control humidity, vibration, and illuminance among ship environmental factors, and comfort, noise and bedroom size should also be reflected.
