A Method for Simultaneous Measurement of Air Kerma, Half Value Layer and Tube Potential in Quality Control Procedure of Diagnostic x ray units

  • For the quality control procedure of diagnostic x ray units, a method for simultaneous measurement of air kerma, half value layer and tube potential was developed utilizing a computed radiography system for intraoral radiography and film badge case. The response of average pixel values under the windows were calibrated by x rays generated at tube potentials from 40 to 140 kV with filtration from 1.5 to 3.7 mmAl. The calibration curves for half value layer and tube potential were derived as functions of attenuation factors by the 1.4 mmAl filter and the 0.2 mmCu filter. The energy dependency of the open window response was corrected by the calibration factor as a function of the attenuation factor by the 1.4 mmAl filter. The uncertainty of the estimated half value layer, tube potential and air kerma were 0.2 mmAl, 3.6 % and 5 %, respectively. It was thus suggested that this system could be applied to quality control program to detect the variation of working condition of x ray units in clinical use.

A Study on Guaranteed Quality of Service in Multiplexed MPEG video sources over BcN Network (BcN망에서 다중화된 MPEG 비디오소스의 QoS 보장 방식)

  • In this paper, we propose Active bandwidth allocation scheme of multiplexed streamed MPEG video sequences over BcN network. In order to real time processing, multiplexed source is estimated by linear-prediction per measurement period. n the result target quality value were not sufficient, we proposed a over-allocation method and a reallocation one to guarantee QoS. We used two kinds of sources, one is random multiplexed source made of four different video sources, the other is the one considered the arrange of I frame in the sequence. With those sources, we analyzed the linear prediction, compared over-allocation with reallocation method. As a result, In both schemes, the objected target quality value is achieved, the sufficient valuce bandwidth under 10% when measurement period is over 1.8 sec, the utilization is over 0.9. Especially, the Target of quality value of the reallocation scheme is better at the same condition.

  • Smart phones have brought rapid changes in this competitive world. Smart phone application developers are trying their best to consider the customer requirements in the most efficient way while considering all its attributes. However smart phone service quality has been given less consideration comparatively during the last few years. This paper proposes a measurement method for improving service quality of smart phone application. This method combines the service quality performance model (SQPM) and process capability index (PCI). The service quality performance model is used to identify service items that require improvement. Process capability index is used as a measure for prioritization of those improvements. Case study was carried out to search out important communication application service attributes. customer satisfaction level data was collected for users who used the application service. A total of twenty four service attributes were found during this survey. Using the joint approach of SQPM and PCI, five significant service attributes were prioritized for service quality improvement.

  • Measurement is used to improve software process and to help calculating software quality. It makes software project to be control and help producing software. Measuring software scale becomes important target in software development. LOC is used to measure the size intentioned aspect and function point is used to measure the function intentioned aspect. This paper discusses measurement method using function point, which fullows proposed rule, and degree of GUI (Graphical User Interface) accesses achieved by applying this measurement to web page. Applying proposed rules to web pages (specially that use much GUI such as shopping mall or auction site), there is advantage that calculate site changes on numerical value by measuring GUI degree when do site administration or update.

  • The products designed by human sensibility and ergonomics are given good impression. Especially the touch feeling on the human skin is very useful sensibility for quality of products. Elasticity and viscosity of human skin is very important element in product design based on ergonomics. In this paper, we describe a sophisticated method for measurement of dynamic viscoelasticity characteristics of human skin. For this measurement, we developed a measurement system assembled with load cell, actuator, amplifier and data acquisition system. The $MATLAB^{TM}$ is used to analyze the data and fit a approximation curves.

  • Image retention is a kind of fatal shortcoming of the AC PDPs for realizing high-quality picture. In this work, the measurement method of image retention was proposed using temporal measurement of luminance, CIEXYZ tristimulus values, IR emission of reset pulse, and temperaturel. On the base of temporal measurement of luminance, CIEXYZ tristimulus value, and IR emission of reset pulse, the retention time of Ne+5%Xe gas-mixture discharge was about 2 hours after white window image. However, it was about 20 minute on the base of temporal measurement of temperature.

  • High speed railway is under construction from Seoul to Pusan. A traveling train is large single phase load that consumes 14MW power in feeding system of high speed railroad. In this paper, measurement scheme and method of power system harmonics which are generated from those loads in railroad supply system are described. This measurement scheme will be used as a first step to pave a way to power quality management due to harmonic distortion by the highspeed rail way.

  • The unit-water content of concrete is one of the important factors in determining the quality of concrete and is directly related to the durability of the construction structure, and the current method of measuring the unit-water content of concrete is applied by the Air Meta Act and the Electrostatic Capacity Act. However, there are complex and time-consuming problems with measurement methods. Therefore, high frequency moisture sensor was used for quick and high measurement, and unit-water content of mortar was evaluated through machine running and deep running based on measurement big data.

  • In this paper, we propose a new method of blocky artifacts measurement for IP based video service. In order to assess the quality of IP based video service, we classify degradation into blocking artifacts by network error or by transmission error. in order to assess blocking artifacts based on No-reference, we estimate blocky artifacts from network errors and image compression by calculating amount of difference between target block and neighbor blocks and error concealment algorithm in a video receiver. To ensure accuracy of proposed method, we compare our result to MOS data using SSCQE method. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is better than a conventional method by around 1.3.

Assessment of Missing Data Estimation with Rain Radar (강우레이더를 활용한 강수량 결측 보정에 관한 연구)

  • Generally, precipitation measurement were conducted with various authrities. Among these, the MOLIT conduct the hydrological survey for the water resource management such as flood and low-flow forecasting, drought countermeasure, streamflow management. There is totally 424 observatory were existed and each precipitation measurement were obtained and quality assuranced with 10-min interval. It could be arranged or estimated with nearby observatory and radar reflectivity when the total amount of precipitation are existed. The objective of the study is therefore to suggest the method to estimate missing data with rain radar reflectivity. To validate suggested method, 50 observartory were obtained, and the efficiency were analyzed with estimated and observed precipitation. As the result of the study, the suggested method has reliability, and can be used as a method for quality assurance.
