Purpose - This paper empirically investigates the competition effect of exports between Korea and China in their common-export markets considering market sophistication. Modern market sophistication includes an importing country's aggregate demand for products of high quality, design, novelty, eco-friendliness, and even IPR protection. Using an empirical analysis to identify the demand for product quality across countries, this paper estimates the effects of market sophistication on the competition between Korean exports and Chinese products. Design/Methodology - Our empirical model considers the relationship between an importing country's consumer sophistication and the export competition between Korea and China. This study employs the existing theoretical framework to identify the aggregate demand for product quality across countries. Using a quite direct measurement (the consumer sophistication index, our analysis investigates the differential effects of Korea's export market sophistication, particularly in markets where Korean exports are in competition with similar Chinese products. Findings - Our main findings can be summarized as follows: the negative effects of the export competition between Korea and China on Korea's exports are stronger in third markets where consumers are less sophisticated while the effects are not as pronounced in markets where consumers are more sophisticated. This result, however, best applies to differentiated goods which significantly vary in product quality. Originality/value - Existing studies focus on the supply side of production and make the assumption that the market preference for export quality is identical across countries. This paper attempts to evaluate the export competition between Korea and China from the demand-side perspective. This area of trade studies is underexplored both empirically and in theory, although the issue has long been important to Korean and world trade.

In this paper we analyse the previous (Quality of Services) and QoE(Quality of Experience) methods, and propose a high reliable network system framework and its service forwarding method that is able to provide seamless N-Screen services for proliferating disaster informations. The service satisfaction measurement, i.e., QoE, of contents consumers in N-screens services is going to be important the factor in disaster information proliferation because N-Screen services in the previous methods based on multi devices only focused on information transmission. The proposed system around these services is composed of a disaster information process framework for accepting user's service requirement, push service modules for minimizing the number of packets to be caused when carrying out the push service, and a push service controller for maximizing QoE measures. In order to provide a seamless N-Screen service on diverse screens, such as smartphone, PC, and big screen, we also have Open API(Application Programming Interface) functions. Through these results, we expect to evaluate QoS and QoE quality in the seamless N-Screen service.
Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine what motivates users to adopt one of the emerging applications for collaborative consumption of sharing economy. Using the self-determination theory, motivation theory and TAM(Technology Acceptance Model) as the theoretical framework, this study illustrates important factors that influence adoption of collaborative consumption service. We develops the ICTs(Information and Communications Technologies) initiatives and motivation model to collaborative consumption. Design/methodology/approach This paper makes use of a quantitative methodology using survey questionnaire that allows for the measurement of the eight constructs(System Availability, Contents Quality, Design & Personalization, Security & Privacy, Emotional & Social Value, Economic Value, Attitude, Adoption & Consumption) contained in the hypothesized theoretical model on the basis of the prior literatures. Data collected from a sample of 227 respondents who have used the collaborative consumption services and provided the foundation for the examination of the proposed relationships in the model. Findings This study has the following implications for the users and providers of CC platforms and services. The ICTs initiatives (System Availability, Contents Quality, Design & Personalization, Security & Privacy) are the influential factors that motivate the emotional and social value to CC. On the other hand, The ICTs initiatives (System Availability, Contents Quality) are not very significant factors of economic value to CC. The empirical analysis result indicate that there are significant causal effect among emotional & social value, economic value, and adoption to CC. This study provides important theoretical implications for innovation adoption research through an empirical examination of the relationship between ICTs initiatives, motivation factors to collaborative consumption in the sharing economy.
The general aspects for the future warfare shows that the concept of firepower and maneuver centric warfare has been replacing with that of information and knowledge centric warfare. Thus, some developed countries are now trying to establish the information systems to perform intelligent warfare and innovate defense operations. The C4I(Command, Control, Communication, Computers and Intelligence for the Warrior) systems make it possible to do modern and systematic war operations. The basic idea of this study is to investigate how TAM(Technology Acceptance Model) can explain the acceptance behavior in military organizations. Because TAM is inadequate in explaining the acceptance processes forcomplex technologies and strict organizations, a revised research model based upon TAM was developed in order to assess the usage of the C4I system. The purpose of this study is to investigate factors affecting the usage of C4I in the Korean Army. The research model, based upon TAM, was extended through a belief construct such as self-efficacy as one of mediating variables. The self-efficacy has been used as a mediating variable for technology acceptance, and the variable was included in the research model. The external variables were selected on the basis of previous research. The external variables can be classified into following: 1) technological, 2) organizational, and 3) environmental factors on the basis of TOE(Technology-Organization-Environment) framework. The technological factor includes the information quality and the task-technology fitness. The organizational factor includes the influence of senior colleagues. The environmental factor includes the education/train data. The external variables are considered very important for explaining the behavior patterns of information technology or systems. A structured questionnaire was developed and administrated to those who were using the C4I system. Total 329 data were used for statistical data analyses. A confirmatory factor analysis and structured equation model were used as main statistical methods. Model fitness Indexes for measurement and structured models were verified before all 18 hypotheses were tested. This study shows that the perceived usefulness and the self-efficacy played their roles more than the perceived ease of use did in TAM. In military organizations, the perceived usefulness showed its mediating effects between external variables and dependent variable, but the perceived ease of use did not. These results imply that the perceived usefulness can explain the acceptance processes better than the perceived ease of use in the army. The self-efficacy was also used as one of the three mediating variables, and showed its mediating effects in explaining the acceptance processes. Such results also show that the self-efficacy can be selected as one possible belief construct in TAM. The perceived usefulness was influenced by such factors as senior colleagues, the information quality, and the task-technology fitness. The self-efficacy was affected by education/train and task-technology fitness. The actual usage of C4I was influenced not by the perceived ease of use but by the perceived usefulness and selfefficacy. This study suggests the followings: (1) An extended TAM can be applied to such strict organizations as the army; (2) Three mediation variables are included in the research model and tested at real situations; and (3) Several other implications are discussed.
This paper empirically examines factors that potentially influence the success of a Web-based semantic search engine. A research model has been proposed that shows the impact of quality-related factors upon the effectiveness of a semantic search engine, based on DeLone and McLean's(2003) information systems success model. An empirical study has been conducted to test hypotheses formulated around the research model, and statistical methods were applied to analyze gathered data and draw conclusions. Implications for academics and practitioners are offered based on the findings of the study. The proposed model includes three quality dimensions of a Web-based semantic search engine-namely, information quality, system quality and service quality. These three dimensions each have measures designed to collectively assess the respective dimension. The model is intended to examine the relationship between measures of these quality dimensions and measures of two dependent constructs, including individuals' net benefit and user satisfaction. Individuals' net benefit was measured by the extent to which the user's information needs were adequately met, whereas user satisfaction was measured by a combination of the perceived satisfaction with search results and the perceived satisfaction with the overall system. A total of 23 hypotheses have been formulated around the model, and a questionnaire survey has been conducted using a functional semantic search website created by KT and Hakia, so as to collect data to validate the model. Copies of a questionnaire form were handed out in person to 160 research associates and employees working in the area of designing and developing semantic search engines. Those who received the form, 148 respondents returned valid responses. The survey form asked respondents to use the given website to answer questions concerning the system. The results of the empirical study have indicated that, of the three quality dimensions, information quality was found to have the strongest association with the effectiveness of a Web-based semantic search engine. This finding is consistent with the observation in the literature that the aspects of the information quality should serve as a basis for evaluating the search outcomes from a semantic search engine. Measures under the information quality dimension that have a positive effect on informational gratification and user satisfaction were found to be recall and currency. Under the system quality dimension, response time and interactivity, were positively related to informational gratification. On the other hand, only one measure under the service quality dimension, reliability was found to have a positive relationship with user satisfaction. The results were based on the seven hypotheses that have been accepted. One may wonder why 15 out of the 23 hypotheses have been rejected and question the theoretical soundness of the model. However, the correlations between independent variables and dependent variables came out to be fairly high. This suggests that the structural equation model yielded results inconsistent with those of coefficient analysis, because the structural equation model intends to examine the relationship among independent variables as well as the relationship between independent variables and dependent variables. The findings offer some useful implications for owners of a semantic search engine, as far as the design and maintenance of the website is concerned. First, the system should be designed to respond to the user's query as fast as possible. Also it should be designed to support the search process by recommending, revising, and choosing a search query, so as to maximize users' interactions with the system. Second, the system should present search results with maximum recall and currency to effectively meet the users' expectations. Third, it should be capable of providing online services in a reliable and trustworthy manner. Finally, effective increase in user satisfaction requires the improvement of quality factors associated with a semantic search engine, which would in turn help increase the informational gratification for users. The proposed model can serve as a useful framework for measuring the success of a Web-based semantic search engine. Applying the search engine success framework to the measurement of search engine effectiveness has the potential to provide an outline of what areas of a semantic search engine needs improvement, in order to better meet information needs of users. Further research will be needed to make this idea a reality.

There have been a number of studies that applied different models in other to assess the customer satisfaction of public and non-public area. But the general evaluation models which are existing can't consider the discrimination characteristic of different types of products or services. And these models didn't reflect the quality of the Internet environment of the public library service which appears newly. This study delved into literature of library service and customer satisfaction evaluation and suggest the classification system of public library service and the evaluation model of customer satisfaction for public library.
Common-cause failure (CCF) events can significantly impact the availability of safety systems of nuclear power plants. For this reason, the International Common Cause Data Exchange (ICDE) project was initiated by several countries in 1994. Since 1997 it has been operated within the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)/Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) framework and has successfully been operated over six consecutive terms (the current term being 2015-2017). The ICDE project allows multiple countries to collaborate and exchange CCF data to enhance the quality of risk analyses, which include CCF modeling. As CCF events are typically rare, most countries do not experience enough CCF events to perform meaningful analyses. Data combined from several countries, however, have yielded sufficient data for more rigorous analyses. The ICDE project has meanwhile published 11 reports on the collection and analysis of CCF events of specific component types (centrifugal pumps, emergency diesel generators, motor operated valves, safety and relief valves, check valves, circuit breakers, level measurement, control rod drive assemblies, and heat exchangers) and two topical reports. This paper presents recent activities and lessons learnt from the data collection and the results of topical analysis on emergency diesel generator CCF impacting entire exposed population.
Purpose: This study was conducted to explore research trends on hospital nurses' happiness. Methods: Studies published from January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2020 were searched. At the first search, 1,898 articles were extracted from academic databases. Twenty-eight articles were used in the systematic review, and 20 included meta-analysis. Results: There were 38 variables explored in relation to nurses' happiness. The variables with the highest meta-analysis value were resilience, positive psychological capabilities, quality of nursing work life, and perceived stress on nursing performance measurement. Among the areas classified based on the nurses' happiness theoretical framework, personal factors (r=.60) and work environment factors (r=.51) showed high meta-correlation values. Conclusion: The relationship between the hospital nurses' happiness and work-related factor in various dimensions has been confirmed. Considering variables related to hospital nurses' happiness in the future, various programs at the individual level and organizational level should be developed.

The operation of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) is a complex task which requires to consider several aspects: adapting to always changing influent composition and volume, ensuring treated effluents quality complies with local regulations, ensuring dissolved oxygen levels in biological reaction tanks are sufficient to avoid anoxic conditions etc. all of it while minimizing usage of chemicals and power consumption. The traditional way of managing WWTPs consists in having employees on the field measure various parameters and make decisions based on their judgment and experience which holds various concerns such as the low frequency of data, errors in measurement and difficulty to analyze historical data to propose optimal solutions. In the case of activated sludge WWTPs, parts of the treatment process can be automated and controlled in order to satisfy various control objectives. The models developed by the International Water Association (IWA) have been extensively used worldwide in order to design and assess the performance of various control strategies. In this work, we propose to review most recent WWTP automation initiatives around the world and identify most currently used control parameters and control architectures. We then suggest a framework to select WWTP model, control parameters and control scheme in order to develop and benchmark control strategies for WWTP automation.

Purpose: The rise of the phrase Work Life Balance was bought up in 1986 when amid many Americans there was prevalence of detrimental work place practices like neglecting families, leisure activities and friends in order to achieve their study place goals. The significance of work-life balance has been gaining ground in recent years to grasp a wider range of groups, including students. Searching and finding a balance can be complex and challenging for many individuals and students. Research design, data and methodology: Through this paper we will explore how students balance the competing demands of work, study, and social activities. Several factors have increased imbalances within Educational organizations, and technology specifically has been influential. However, technology also provides a novel solution to this organizational performance management issue. A Study-Life Optimization model (SLO) is suggested, which incorporates information systems, analytics, and decision support into a Smart Service System. A general framework for this model, detailing data collection, measurement, and ethical issues is explained briefly. Results: Outcomes include improved WLB, greater perceived quality of life, and increased Educational organizational performance. Conclusions: This paper contributes to the relevant literature as it pays attention to the various students' of varying lifestyles school-work-personal lives. Findings of this study will provide a meaningful of the Work/school-life balance issues faced by students. The research could be helpful to the various stakeholders of a University, the curriculum designers, program coordinators etc.
