전기 자동차 계통 연계 시 BESS의 협조제어를 이용한 전력품질 향상 대책 개발 (Development of Countermeasure for Improving the Power Quality using Coordinated Control of BESS on Electric Vehicle connected System)

  • Energy Storage Systems (ESSs) are essential in the future power systems because they can improve power usage efficiency. In this paper, we propose the countermeasure for improving the power quality using coordinated control of BESS(Battery Energy Storage System) on EV connected system. To verify the performance of proposed scheme, we simulate on the actual power system of KEPCO and compare the results of voltage variation, frequency variation, and load factor with those of uncoordinated control. From the simulation results, we confirm that frequency and voltage deviation are significantly reduced with proposed coordinated control of BESS.

Evaluation of Ultrasound for Prediction of Carcass Meat Yield and Meat Quality in Korean Native Cattle (Hanwoo)

  • Three hundred thirty five progeny testing steers of Korean beef cattle were evaluated ultrasonically for back fat thickness (BFT), longissimus muscle area (LMA) and intramuscular fat (IF) before slaughter. Class measurements associated with the Korean yield grade and quality grade were also obtained. Residual standard deviation between ultrasonic estimates and carcass measurements of BFT, LMA were 1.49 mm and $0.96cm^2$. The linear correlation coefficients (p<0.01) between ultrasonic estimates and carcass measurements of BFT, LMA and IF were 0.75, 0.57 and 0.67, respectively. Results for improving predictions of yield grade by four methods-the Korean yield grade index equation, fat depth alone, regression and decision tree methods were 75.4%, 79.6%, 64.3% and 81.4%, respectively. We conclude that the decision tree method can easily predict yield grade and is also useful for increasing prediction accuracy rate.

간호서비스 질, 만족 및 병원 재이용 의도에 관한 소비자와 제공자간의 지각차이 비교 (A Comparative Study of Consumers and Providers on Nursing Service Quality, Satisfaction, and Hospital Revisiting Intent)

  • Purpose: The purposes of this study were to compare the nursing service quality, gap, overall nursing service satisfaction, overall medical service satisfaction and intent to revisit the hospital perceived by consumers and providers. Methods: Data were collected with self-administered questionnaire and analyzed using frequency, %, mean, standard deviation, t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. Result: Nursing service gap perceived by consumers was smaller than that of providers. Consumer's overall satisfaction with nursing and medical service was higher than that of nurses. In consumers, nursing service satisfaction alone accounted for 62.9% of the variance in their intent to revisit the hospital, while explained 3% of the variance in providers. Conclusion: There are definitely perception gap between consumers and providers. Therefore nursing and hospital managers must recognize it, and carry out the internal marketing strategies for nurses.

  • We address the problem of choosing the most economic mean value for an automatic filling operation on a production line through the sampling inspection. If quality characteristic of a unit is less than inspection specification then the goods is not accepted. Otherwise, it is accepted. The lots that the numbers of non-conforming units in a sample are larger than the allowable number of non-conforming units are rejected. The non-conforming units in the rejected lots are separated by the screening inspection. The non-conforming units separated are sold in discount price. We assume that quality characteristic is larger-the-better characteristic, the distribution of quality characteristic is normal distribution, and the standard deviation of the distribution is known. This paper presents total expected profit function model considering sales revenue, inspection costs, and material costs. The manufacturing process mean value maximizing total expected profit is determined, and the results of the process target value and total expected profit is analyzed as coefficients change.

Analysis of Factors Affecting Satisfaction of 119 Emergency Service Users in Korea

  • This study attempted to identify the service satisfaction with the 119 emergency service and the factors that affect it based on the responses of subjects who used the service. Data collection was conducted from February 11 to March 11, 2021, using convenience sampling. A total of 1842 subjects who used emergency medical services using 119 ambulance in 2020 participated. For the collected data, frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation were calculated, and t-test, analysis of variance, and multiple regression analysis were performed using SPSS 23.0. Based on these results, to further enhance the satisfaction of users of the 119 emergency service and the quality of emergency medical services, it is important to improve the quality of paramedics through education and systems. In addition, to increase user satisfaction, efficient and systematic communication education is required. The quality of emergency medical services will increase only when communication skills required for explanations and promoting understanding are improved.

WISE 펄스 도플러 윈드라이다 품질관리 알고리즘 개발 (Development of a Quality Check Algorithm for the WISE Pulsed Doppler Wind Lidar)

  • A quality check algorithm for the Weather Information Service Engine pulsed Doppler wind lidar is developed from a view point of spatial and temporal consistencies of observed wind speed. Threshold values for quality check are determined by statistical analysis on the standard deviation of 3-component of wind speed obtained by a wind lidar, and the vertical gradient of horizontal wind speed obtained by a radiosonde system. The algorithm includes carrier-to-noise ratio (CNR) check, data availability check, and vertical gradient of horizontal wind speed check. That is, data sets whose CNR is less than -29 dB, data availability is less than 90%, or vertical gradient of horizontal wind speed is less than $-0.028s^{-1}$ or larger than $0.032s^{-1}$ are classified as 'doubtful', and flagged. The developed quality check algorithm is applied to data obtained at Bucheon station for the period from 1 to 30 September 2015. It is found that the number of 'doubtful' data shows maxima around 2000 m high, but the ratio of 'doubtful' to height-total data increases with increasing height due to atmospheric boundary height, cloud, or rainfall, etc. It is also found that the quality check by data availability is more effective than those by carrier to noise ratio or vertical gradient of horizontal wind speed to remove an erroneous noise data.

손실함수의 형태를 고려한 생산자 규격한계의 결정 (Decision of Producer's Specification Limits Considering Types of Loss Function)

  • Taguchi regarded the concept of quality as 'total loss to society due to fluctuations in quality characteristics from the time of supplied to the customer.' The loss function is a representative tool that can quantitatively convert the loss that occurs due to the deviation of the quality characteristic value from the target value. This has been utilized in various studies with the advantage that it can change the social loss caused by fluctuation of quality characteristics to economic cost. The loss function has also been used extensively in the study of producer specification limits. However, in previous studies, only the second order loss function of Taguchi is used. Therefore, various types of losses that can occur in the process can't be considered. In this study, we divide the types of losses that can occur in the process considering the first and second loss functions and the Spiring's reflected normal loss function, and perform total inspection before delivering the customer to determine the optimal producer specification limit that minimizes the total cost. Also, we will divide the quality policy for the products beyond the specification limits into two. In addition, we will show the illustration of expected loss cost change of each model according to the change of major condition such as customer specifications and maximum loss cost.

Non-destructive evaluation of concrete quality using PZT transducers

  • This paper presents a new concept of using PZT (lead zircornate titanate) transducers as a non-destructive testing (NDT) tool for evaluating quality of concrete. Detection of defects in concrete is very important in order to check the integrity of concrete structures. The electro-mechanical impedance (EMI) response of PZT transducers bonded onto a concrete specimen can be used for evaluating local condition of the specimen. Measurements are carried out by electrically exciting the bonded PZT transducers at high frequency range and taking response measurements of the transducers. In this study, the compression test results showed that concrete specimens without sufficient compaction are likely to fall below the desired strength. In addition, the strength of concrete was greatly reduced as the voids in concrete were increased. It was found that the root mean square deviation (RMSD) values yielded between the EMI signatures for concrete specimens in dry and saturated states showed good agreement with the specimens' compressive strength and permeable voids. A quality metric was introduced for predicting the quality of concrete based on the dry-saturated state of concrete specimens. The simplicity of the method and the current development towards low cost and portable impedance measuring system, offer an advantage over other NDE methods for evaluating concrete quality.

광화학측정망에서 측정한 휘발성유기화합물의 정도관리 방법 (Quality Assurance and Quality Control method for Volatile Organic Compounds measured in the Photochemical Assessment Monitoring Station)

  • The hourly volatile organic compounds(VOCs) concentrations between 2005 and 2008 at Bulgwang photochemical assessment monitoring station were investigated to establish a method for quality assurance and quality control(QA/QC) procedure. Systematic error, erratic error, and random error, which was manifested by outlier and highly fluctuated data, were checked and removed. About 17.3% of the raw data were excluded according to the proposed QA/QC procedure. After QA/QC, relative standard deviation for representing 15 species concentrations decreased from 94.7-548.0% to 63.4-125.8%, implying the QA/QC procedure is proper. For further evaluation about the adequacy of QA/QC procedure, principal components analysis(PCA) was carried out. When the data after QA/QC procedure was used for PCA, the extracted principal components were different from the result from the raw data and could logically explain the major emission sources(gasoline vapor, vehicle exhaust, and solvent usage). The QA/QC procedure based on the concept of errors is inferred to proper to be applied on VOCs. However, an additional QA/QC step considering the relationship between species in the atmosphere needs to be further considered.

조기진통 임부의 불안과 스마트폰 의존도가 수면의 질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of anxiety and smartphone dependency on sleep quality among pregnant women with preterm labor)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of anxiety and smartphone dependency on sleep quality in pregnant women with preterm labor. Methods: The participants of this study were 111 pregnant women who were between 20 and 37 weeks of gestation and experienced preterm labor. The data were collected from October 1, 2018 to October 25, 2019. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, and standard deviation), as well as the t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and hierarchical multiple regression. Results: Significant negative correlations were found between anxiety and sleep quality and between smartphone dependency and sleep quality. Participants' history of preterm birth, pregnancy method, bowel movements, anxiety, and smartphone dependency significantly affected sleep quality, with an explanatory power of 18%. Conclusion: In order to improve the quality of sleep, which is an important health-related factor for pregnant women experiencing preterm labor, it will be necessary to identify a history of premature birth, pregnancies achieved using artificial reproductive technology, bowel problems, and smartphone dependency in advance and to provide nursing interventions accordingly.
