In order to overtake a quantitative analysis of effect of anthropogenic heat and different land-use on urban thermal environment numerical simulation of surface energy budget was carried out under typical summer synoptic condition. It is beneficial to understand surface temperature of complex urban surace. The different land-use types are classified of rice field farm fruit garden residential region forest water and swamp by using map scaled 1/25000 of Pusan metropolitan. The model predicts that maximum heat island intensity in the central part of Pusan is 7$^{\circ}C$ at 2000 LST in summertime. The surface temperature is propotional to the density of constructions. The effect of anthropogenic heat generation on surface temperature is the increase of 0.3$^{\circ}C$ at 1400LST in the central part of Pusan during summertime.

Face detection plays an important role in face recognition, video surveillance, and human computer interface. In this paper, we present a face detection system using eye detection with progressive thresholding from a digital camera. The face candidate is detected by using skin color segmentation in the YCbCr color space. The face candidates are verified by detecting the eyes that is located by iterative thresholding and correlation coefficients. Preprocessing includes histogram equalization, log transformation, and gray-scale morphology for the emphasized eyes image. The distance of the eye candidate points generated by the progressive increasing threshold value is employed to extract the facial region. The process of the face detection is repeated by using the increasing threshold value. Experimental results show that more enhanced face detection in real time.

We have studied the response of molecular clouds in the Galactic disk to a rotating bar by conducting Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) simulations for the Galaxy in order to understand the dynamical structures of the Galactic Center (GC) molecular clouds, and their implications. In our study it was found that the structures of GC molecular clouds could be induced by the combined effects of rotating bar potential, the hydrodynamic collisions and gravitational miss collisions between the clouds.

We present a rare case of massive intracerebral hemorrhage resulting from a small, superficially-located supratentorial cavernous malformation, or cavernoma. These lesions rarely lead to massive, life-threatening intracerebral hemorrhages. A 17-year-old female presented with a 3-week history of declining mental status. Brain computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging revealed a sizable intracranial hemorrhage, within the right occipital region, associated with a small nodule at the hematoma's posterior margin. An emergency operation removed the entire hematoma and nodule. Histological examination of the nodule was compatible with a diagnosis of cavernous malformation. The patient's post-operative course was uneventful.

A 43-year-old woman presented with dizziness, ataxia and right hearing difficulty. Her magnetic resonance images demonstrated an inhomogeneously contrast-enhanced large tumor growing into right cavernous sinus and Meckel's cave located totally within intradural retroclival region. She underwent retromastoid suboccipital craniotomy to resect the tumor mass and adjuvant gamma knife radiosurgery for remnant tumor at 1 month after operation. Adjuvant radiosurgery after surgical excision seems to be effective for the treatment of intradural extraosseous chordomas.

본 논문에서는 다양한 배경을 가지는 연속적인 얼굴 영상에서 실시간으로 눈의 위치를 자동적으로 추출하는 방법에 대하여 제시한다. 얼굴 요소 중에서 눈은 얼굴 인식 분야에 있어서 중요한 특징을 나타내는 주 요소로써 주로 히스토그램 분석과 색상 정보를 이용하여 눈 영역의 윤곽을 추출하는 방법이 제기되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 명암의 변화에도 비교적 적응력이 강한 이진화 기법을 사용하여 원영상을 이진화하고, 가변 템플릿(Deformable Template)방법을 사용하여 후보 영역을 추출한다. 이러한 후보영역들은 ART2 신경회로망을 이용하여 병합되며, 병합된 후보 영역들은 얼굴 요소의 기하학적 사전지식을 기반으로 검증되어, 시간에 따라 모양변화가 급변하는 눈 영역에 대한 실시간 추출을 가능하게 한다. 이상의 연구 결과는 교통사고 방지를 위한 눈의 졸림감지 등의 응용 시스템에 이용될 수 있다.

Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is frequent complications of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. In the chronic GVHD (cGVHD), the oral cavity is the most commonly affected region. The clinical manifestations include erythema, ulceration, lichenoid-hyperkeratotic change in oral mucosa, dry mouth, and limitation of mouth opening. The initial treatment strategy of oral cGVHD patients is topical corticosteroid therapy in various formulation. However, corticosteroid resistance appears in some patients. We report a case of a 25-year-old male patient with oral cGVHD, who has resistance to topical corticosteroid medication, treated with 0.03% tacrolimus ointment and low-dose doxycycline. The patient showed subjective and objective improvement without side effect.

We demonstrate a pixel-isolated bistable twist-splay namatic (PI-BTSN) liquid crystal (LC) cell which has two stable states of splay and ${\pi}$-twist. Each state is stabilized by a multi-dimensional anchoring effect of pixel-isolating polymer walls without any chiral additives. Polymer walls are formed around the pixel region by anisotropic phase separation between LCs and reactive mesogens. Switching between the two states is archived by using vertical and horizontal electric fields. The memory mode of the fabricated LC cell has shown infinity memory time.

Switched reluctance motor generally operates in the magnetically saturated region because the saturation gives several benefits to its performance. This paper investigates the modelling and fuzzy tuning PI control of a nonlinear switched reluctance motor. The modelling is performed through neural network technique. Fuzzy auto-tuning PI control is designed for a robust performance in load and speed variations. Simulation and experimental results indicate better performances compared with simple PI control.

This paper proposes a face detection and recognition method that combines the template matching method and the eigenface method with the neural network. In the face extraction step, the skin color information is used. Therefore, the search region is reduced. The global property of the face is achieved by the eigenface method. Face recognition is performed by a neural network that can learn the face property.
