  • In this paper, we investigate asymptotic stability, oscillation, asymptotic behavior and existence of the period-2 solutions for difference equation $x_{n+1}\;=\;{\alpha}\;+\;\beta{x_{n-1}}^{p}/{x_n}^p$ where ${\alpha}\;{\geq}\;0,\;{\beta}\;>\;0.\;$\mid$p$\mid$\;{\geq}\;1$, and the initial conditions $x_{-1}\;and\;x_0$ are arbitrary positive real numbers.

Titanium Phosphide 표면에 대한 세포독성 및 골친화성의 평가 (Evaluation of cytotoxicity and bone affinity on the surface of a titanium phosphide)

  • Dental implants have been developed for enhancement of osseointegration. Biocompatibility, bone affinity and surface characteristics of dental implants are very important factors for osseointegration. The aim of the present study was to determine the cytotoxicity and the bone affinity of titanium phosphide(Ti-P) implant material. The Ti-P surface was obtained by vacuum sintering of titanium within compacted hydroxyapatite powder. The composition and the chemical change of the surface were determined by Auger electron spectroscopy. The in vitro cytotoxicity was evaluated by the viability of the bone cells and macrophages obtained from chicken embryo and rat,s peritonium, respectively. For the comparative evaluation, 316L stainless steel, commercially pure titanium and Ti-P materials, prepared in size of 1O.0mm in diameter and 5.0mm in height, were immersed separately in bone cells and macrophages for 10 days. For the evaluation of the in vivo bone affinity, 316L stainless steel, commercially pure titanium and Ti-P materials, prepared in size of 5.0mm in diameter and 10.0mm in length, were implanted after drilling in diameter 5.5mm in femurs of 2 dogs weighing 10Kg more or less. Six weeks after implantation the specimens were prepared for histopathological examination and were observed under light microscope. In comparison of in vitro bone cell viability, Ti-P and commercially pure titanium groups were not significantly different from control group (p>O.1), but 316L stainless steel group was significantly lower than control group(p<0.05). There was no statistical difference in the viability of macrophages between 3 different groups and control group(p>O.l). In comparison of in vivo study, 316L stainless steel and commercially pure titanium showed fibrous encapsulation, but Ti-P showed remarkable new bone formation without any fibrous tissue. The results demonstrate that Ti-P has favorable biocompatibility and bone affinity, and suggest that dental implants with Ti-P surface may enhance osseointegration.

Screening of Exiguobacterium acetylicum from Soil Samples Showing Enantioselective and Alkalotolerant Esterase Activity

  • About 3,000 bacterial colonies with esterase activities were isolated from soil samples by enrichment culture and halo-size on Luria broth-tributyrin (LT) plates. The colonies were assayed for esterase activity in microtiter plates using enantiomerically pure (R)- and (S)-2-phenylbutyric acid resorufin ester (2PB-O-res) as substrates. Two enantioselective strains (JH2 and JH13) were selected by the ratio of initial rate of hydrolysis of enantiomerically pure (R)- and (S)-2-PB-O-res. When cell pellets were used, both strains showed high apparent enantioselectivity ($E_{app}>100$) for (R)-2PB-O-res and were identified as Exiguobacterium acetylicum. The JH13 strain showed high esterase activity on p-nitrophenyl acetate (pNPA), but showed low lipase activity on p-nitrophenyl palmitate (pNPP). The esterase was located in the soluble fraction of the cell extract. The crude intracellular enzyme preparation was stable at a pH range from 6.0 to 11.0.

  • Generally, the current commercial cloud system is hosted by the centralization large datacenter. However, the other clouding forms existed and one of them is the P2P cloud. The P2P Cloud is a distributed systems, is freedom to join and leave and is possible to provide the IaaS. Commonly, P2P Cloud System is based on Pure-P2P System. Since a number of connection paths exist, it has a high reliability and easily scalability of the network. However, there are disadvantages of the slow rate of route because of looking up the all peers in order to search for the peer. In this paper, it proposes the P2P cloud system based on super-peer P2P. Super-peer P2P system has fast routing time, because of searching for cluster unit and it also can has high reliability and high scalability. We designs the super Peer cloud service and proposes the system model and Resource Allocation Algorithm for IaaS in Super peer P2P environment.

  • 화본과 제초제의 대표적인 화합물인 광학활성 fenoxaprop-p-ethyl[ethyl(R)-2-{4-(6-chloro-1,3-benzoxazol-2-yloxy)phenoxy}propionate]을 4-(6-chloro-1,3-benzoxazol-2-yloxy)phenol과 ethyl (S)-O-(p-toluenesulfonyl)lactate의 치환반응(Walden Inversion)을 이용하여 90%의 수율(광학활성순도 : 99.9% 이상)로 얻었다. 4-(6-chloro-1,3-benzoxazol-2-yloxy)phenol은 기초적인 원료인 아미노페놀, 우레아, 클로린, 유황 등을 자일렌, 메탄올, 디클로로에탄 등의 용매를 사용하여 6단계의 반응을 거처 70% 의 수율로 합성하였다.

Determination of Trace Elements of Ge and P in a Gold Bonding Wire by Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry

  • Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) was used to determine the presence of germanium and phosphorus in a pure gold bonding wire. The samples were dissolved with hydrobromic acid and nitric acid at room temperature. The quantitation limits were 0.012 mg L-1 at 265.118 nm for Ge and 0.009 mg L-1 at 177.495 nm for P. Using the mixed acid digestion formula of DIW+HBr+HNO3, the recoveries were in the range of 98-100% and the relative standard deviation was within 1.1-2.3%. On the other hand, the amount of Ge decreased by about 16.2% using DIW+HCl+HNO3, due to the formation of a volatile compound. The Ge contents determined using the external method and the standard addition method were 9.45 mg kg-1 and 9.24 mg kg-1, respectively, and the P contents, using the same methods, were 22.49 mg kg-1 and 23.09 mg kg-1, respectively. Both methods were successfully used to determine the trace amounts of P and Ge in the pure gold bonding wire samples.

$^{14}C-2$, 6-Diethylaniline의 토양미생물에 의한 분해 (Microbial Degradation of $^{14}C-2$, 6-Diethylaniline in Soil and in Pure Culture)

  • $^{14}C-2$, 6-Diethylaniline을 토양중에서 호기적으로 21 주간 배양시 발생된 $^{14}CO_2$는 살균하지 않은 A토양(clay loam)과 B토양(coarse sandy loam)에서 각각 6.5%와 10.1%이었다. Methanol로 토양을 추출시 A토양에서는 3.1%, B토양에서는 13.5%의 토양방사능이 추출되었다. 토양중에서의 분해산물은 2, 6-diethylacetanilide 이었으며 Chaetomium globosum은 순수배양시 분해산물로 2, 6-diethyl-p-benzoquinone을 생성하였고 이의 생성경로는 2, 6-DEA의 p-hydroxylation, quinoneimine의 형성 그리고 암모니아 발생을 수반하는 가수분해 등으로 제안하였다.

Assimilation of Peptides and Amino Acids and Dissimilation of Lactate During Submerged Pure Cultures of Penicillium camembertii and Geotrichum candidum

  • The behavior of Penicillium camembertii and Geotrichum candidum growing in submerged pure cultures on simple (glutamate) or complex (peptones) substrates as nitrogen and carbon sources and lactate as a second carbon source was examined. Similar to the behavior previously recorded on a simple substrate (glutamate), a clear differentiation between the carbon source and the energy source was also shown on peptones and lactate during P. camembertii growth, since throughout growth, lactate was only dissimilated, viz., used for energy supply by oxidation into $CO_2$, whereas peptides and amino acids from peptones were used for carbon (and nitrogen) assimilation. Because of its deaminating activity, G candidum preferred peptides and amino acids to lactate as energy sources, in addition to being assimilated as carbon and nitrogen sources. From this, on peptones and lactate, G candidum grew faster than P. camembertii (0.19 and 0.08 g/l/h, respectively) by assimilating the most readily utilizable peptides and amino acids; however, owing to its lower proteolytic activity, the maximum biomass was lower than that of P. camembertii (3.7 and 5.5 g/l, respectively), for which continuous proteolysis and assimilation of peptides were shown.

  • In this paper, we will find solutions and investigate the superstability bounded by constant for the p-radical functional equations as follows: $f\(\sqrt[p]{\frac{x^p+y^p}{2}}\)^2-f\(\sqrt[p]{\frac{x^p-y^p}{2}}\)^2=\;\{(i)\;f(x)f(y),\\(ii)\;g(x)f(y),\\(iii)\;f(x)g(y),\\(iv)\;g(x)g(y).$ with respect to the sine functional equation, where p is an odd positive integer and f is a complex valued function. Furthermore, the results are extended to Banach algebra.

홍조류인 한국산 김종에서의 염색체 DNA 분리방법 (Rapid and Efficient Purification of Nucleic Acids from the Macroalga Porphyra(Rhodophyta))

  • A method for the isolation and purification of DNA from a red algae, Porphyra was innovated. The innovation of the method consists mainly of three steps that include sodium acetate treatment, chloroform extraction, and 0.2 volume isopropanol precipitation step. The sodium acetate treatment was designed to remove polysaccharide contamination, and the isopropanol step to remove proteins and salts contaminents. Genomic DNA,s of several species(for example, P. tenera, P. yezoensis, P. seriata, and P. pseudolinearis) was successfully isolated by the innovated method. The amount of DNA purified from one g of sample material with the innovated method was 53 g in average. The resulting DNA was characterized to include high molecular weight and showed no nuclease activity. The DNA was pure enough to be digested directly by various restriction enzymes without any difficulties. Porphyra DNA was pure enough and adequate for amplification reaction through the polymerase chain reaction (small nuclear rDNA PCR amplification).
