Cr-Mo-V강의 전기화학적 분극 특성과 재질열화 평가 (An Evaluation on Electrochemical Polarization Characteristics and Material Degradation for Cr-Mo-V Steel)

  • 본 연구는 Cr-Mo-V강의 다양한 분극특성들을 이용하여 비파괴적으로 재질열화를 평가하는 전기화학적 기법에 대해서 서술한 것이다. 사용된 전기화학적 기법은 스테인레스강의 열 이력에 의해 주로 야기되는 강화원소 결핍 영역에서의 예민화 그리고 부식속도를 평가하기 위해 널리 사용되는 양극분극 시험법이다. 재질열화 평가는 $10{\times}10{\times}0.5mm$ 크기의 시험편을 사용하는 미소역학 시험법으로 잘 알려진 SP시험에 의해 수행되었다. $630^{\circ}C$에서 1,000hrs 시효된 재료가 가장 높은 재질 열화도 ${\Delta}[DBTT]_{SP}$을 보였으나, 2,000hrs 그리고, 3,000hrs 시효된 재료는 시효 시간이 증가함에 따라 ${\Delta}[DBTT]_{SP}$의 감소를 보였다. 전류밀도의 차 $({\Delta}I_{FP},\;{\Delta}I_{SP})$가 1,000hrs 시효시간까지는 증가하였고, 그 이후의 시효시간에서는 시효시간의 증가와 더불어 감소됨이 관찰되었다. 이 같은 결과는 시효재료에 대한 경도의 거동과 일치하였다. 덧붙여, ${\Delta}[DBTT]_{sp}$${\Delta}I_{FP}$${\Delta}I_{SP}$와 같은 전기화학적 분극특성들과 좋은 상관관계를 가지고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

S-레일 시험을 통한 자동차용 판재의 스프링백 특성 평가 (Evaluation of the Springback Characteristics for Automotive Steel Sheets by the S-Rail Forming Test)

  • This study is aimed to evaluate the springback characteristics of automotive steel sheets through the S-rail forming test and to find the process condition under which springback can be reduced. Die set for the S-rail test has been made according to the dimension of the NUMISHEET '96 benchmark model. Experiment and finite element analysis have been performed on two kinds of automotive steel sheets: mild steel, SPCEN and high strength steel, SPRC. The test results show that the amount of springback is larger on the high strength steel SPRC than on the mild steel SPCEN, and decreases with increasing blank holding force as the case of material flow. And the reduction of friction has the effect of lowering the blank holding force in view of punch force and material flow. It is shown that the strain distribution over the whole specimen and along the specified sections calculated from the finite element analysis coincides with the measured data except local differences.

SP-SSRT법에 의한 TMCP강 용접부의 응력부식균열 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Stress Corrosion Cracking Evaluation for Weld Joint of TMCP steel by SP-SSRT Method)

  • The object of this paper is to evaluate SCC(stress corrosion cracking) susceptibility for parent metal and bond line region of weld joints which have the various weld heat input condtions in TMCP(thermo-mechanical control process) steel by SP-SSRT(small punch-slow strain rate test) method. And the SCC test results of TMCP steel are compared with those of the conventional HT50 steel which has te almost same tensile strength level like TMCP steel. The loading rate used was $3\times10^{-4}$mm/min and the corrosive environment was synthetic sea water. According to the test results, in the case of parent metal, TMCP steel showed higher SCC susceptibility than HT50 steel because of the high plastic strain level of ferrite microstructure obtained by accelerated cooling. And in the case of bond line, the both TMCP steel and HT50 steel showed low load-displacement behaviors and higher SCC susceptibility above 0.6. These results may be caused by theembrittled martensite structure on HT50 steel and by the coarsened grain and the proeutectoid ferrite structure obtained by the impart of accelerated cooling effect on TMCP steel.

소형펀치시험에 의한 TRIP강의 수소 지연파괴 거동 (Hydrogen Delayed Fracture of TRIP Steel by Small Punch Test)

  • The strain-induced phase transformation from austenite to martensite is responsible for the high strength and ductility of TRIP steels. However high strength steels are susceptible to hydrogen embrittlement. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of hydrogen on the behavior of hydrogen delayed fracture in TRIP steel with hydrogen charging conditions. The electrochemical hydrogen charging was conducted at each specimen with varying current density and charging time. The relationship between hydrogen concentration and mechanical properties of TRIP steel was established by SP test and SEM fractography. The maximum loads and displacements of the TRIP steel in SP test decreased with increasing hydrogen charging time. The results of SEM fractography investigation revealed typical brittle mode of failure. Thus it was concluded that hydrogen delayed fracture in TRIP steel result from the diffusion of hydrogen through the ${\alpha}$' phase.

압분공정의 유한요소 해석을 위한 AZO 분말의 Closed-die Compaction 실험 (Closed-die Compaction of AZO Powder for FE Simulation of Powder Compaction)

  • In this study, powder compaction of AZO (alumina doped zinc oxide) powder was performed with a MTS 810 test system using a cylindrical die having a diameter of 10mm. Pressure-density curves were measured based on the load cell and displacement of the punch. The AZO powder compacts with various densities were formed to investigate the mechanical properties such as fracture stress of the AZO powder as a function of the compact density. Two types of compression tests were conducted in order to estimate the fracture stress using different loading paths: a diameteral compression test and a uniaxial compression test. The pressure-density curves of the AZO powder were obtained and the fracture stress of the compacted powders with various densities was estimated. The results show that the compact pressure dramatically increases as the density increases. Based on the experimental results, calibration of the modified Drucker-Prager/Cap model of the AZO powder for use in FE simulations was developed.

EMI database analysis focusing on relationship between density and mechanical properties of sedimentary rocks

  • The Earth Mechanics Institute (EMI) was established at the Colorado School of Mines (CSM) in 1974 to develop innovations in rock mechanics research and education. During the last four decades, extensive rock mechanics research has been conducted at the EMI. Results from uniaxial compressive strength (UCS), Brazilian tensile strength (BTS), point load index (PLI), punch penetration (PP), and many other types of tests have been recorded in a database that has been unexamined for research purposes. The EMI database includes over 20,000 tests from over 1,000 different projects including mining and underground construction, and analysis of this database to identify relationships has been started with preliminary results reported here. Overall, statistically significant correlations are identified between bulk density and mechanical strength properties through UCS, BTS, PLI, and PP testing of sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks. In this paper, bulk density is considered as a surrogate metric that reflects both mineralogy and porosity. From this analysis, sedimentary rocks show the strongest correlation between the UCS and bulk density, whereas metamorphic rocks exhibit the strongest correlation between UCS and PP. Data trends in the EMI database also reveal a linear relationship between UCS and BTS tests. For the singular case of rock coral, the database permits correlations between bulk density of the core versus the deposition depth and porosity. The EMI database will continue under analysis, and will provide additional insightful and comprehensive understanding of the variation and predictability of rock mechanical strength properties and density. This knowledge will contribute significantly toward the increasingly safe and cost-effective geostructures and construction.

Effect of mechanical alloying on the microstructural evolution of a ferritic ODS steel with (Y-Ti-Al-Zr) addition processed by Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS)

  • The high-energy milling is one of the most extended techniques to produce Oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) powder steels for nuclear applications. The consequences of the high energy mill process on the final powders can be measured by means of deformation level, size, morphology and alloying degree. In this work, an ODS ferritic steel, Fe-14Cr-5Al-3W-0.4Ti-0.25Y2O3-0.6Zr, was fabricated using two different mechanical alloying (MA) conditions (Mstd and Mact) and subsequently consolidated by Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS). Milling conditions were set to evidence the effectivity of milling by changing the revolutions per minute (rpm) and dwell milling time. Differences on the particle size distribution as well as on the stored plastic deformation were observed, determining the consolidation ability of the material and the achieved microstructure. Since recrystallization depends on the plastic deformation degree, the composition of each particle and the promoted oxide dispersion, a dual grain size distribution was attained after SPS consolidation. Mact showed the highest areas of ultrafine regions when the material is consolidated at 1100 ℃. Microhardness and small punch tests were used to evaluate the material under room temperature and up to 500 ℃. The produced materials have attained remarkable mechanical properties under high temperature conditions.

I 형강 합성바닥판의 정적성능 평가 (Experimental Evaluation for Static Performance of I-Beam Concrete Slab System)

  • 최근 교량상 통과하중의 증대 및 교통량증대로 공용중의 교량의 바닥판은 가혹한 하중하에서 펀칭등의 파괴가 발생하여 사용상에 중대한 영향을 미치고 있는 실정이다. 이로 인한 바닥의 보수나 교체공사등이 급격히 증가되어 신속 간편하며, 보수시 교통통제를 최소화 할 수 있고 또한 신뢰성이 있는 바닥판 시공법이 필요하게 되었다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 교량구조물 바닥판의 신설/교체공사에 있어서 신속한 시공과 신뢰성 있는 품질관리, 교통통제의 최소화를 위해 공장 또는 제작장에서 바닥판 구조물의 주부재로서 I형강을 배치하고 거푸집(저판)을 조립하여 패널을 제작한 후 현장에서는 패널의 설치 및 연결부에 콘크리트를 타설하여 바닥판을 시공하는 공법을 개발하는데 그 목적이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 I형강 합성바닥판 개발에 필요한 I형강 자체의 역학적, 구조적 특성에 대하여 기초적인 물성 실험인 정적. 피로성능 실험을 수행하였으며, I형강 합성바닥판 및 유사한 성능의 바닥판 시험체를 제작하여 정적실험을 수행 비교하였다. 그리고 본 실험 연구 결과 I형강 합성바닥판의 우수성을 확인하였다.

  • 에너지 변환설비와 관련된 기계구조물의 내열재료는 $350^{\circ}C{\sim}550^{\circ}C$의 온도범위에서 장시간 사용되는데 이때 조직의 결정입계에는 불순물 원소(P, Sn, Sb등)의 편석과 탄화물의 석출 등으로 인하여 재료의 취화 현상이 발생되고, 그로 인해 입계강도의 저하가 초래된다. 따라서 노후화된 고온설비의 안전성 및 효율적인 운전조건을 확보하고, 취성파괴 방지를 위해서는 취화손상의 정량적 평가는 매우 중요하다. 그러나 가동중인 고온설비에서 파괴시험을 위한 대량의 시험편채취가 거의 불가능한 경우가 대부분이므로 비파괴적인 시험방법이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 인공시효열처리된 2.25Cr-1Mo강의 비파괴적인 취화손상도 평가를 위해 적정 부식환경하에서 전기화학적 분극시험 방법에 의한 최적의 평가인자를 조사하였다. 또한 전기화학 시험결과들은 준비파괴시험인 SP시험에 의한 취화도 평가결과와 비교되었다.

SP시험에 의한 TMCP강의 방향성 및 용접부의 파괴인성에 관한 연구 (A study on fracture toughness of welded joint and orientation in TMCP steel by th SP test)

  • In this paper, the fracture toughness evaluation of the various microstructures such as HAZ, F.L and W.M in weldment of TMCP steel which has the softening zone owing to high heat input welding was carried out by using of the small punch(SP) test. In addition, the fracture toughness with the specimen orientation of rolled TMCP steel was investigated by means of SP test and the crack opening displacement (COD) test and then was compared with that of conventional SM50YB steel. From the results of SP test for TMCP steel, it could be seen that the SP energy transition curves of three different orientation were shifted to higher temperature side in order of S, T and L. But the {TEX}$DBTT_{SP}${/TEX} of each orientation specimen did not show a lot of differences and were quite lower than those of conventional SM50YB steel. The mechanical properties of HAZ structure in weldment of TMCP steel such as hardness, SP energy at room temperature and -196$^{\circ}C$ and the upper shelf energy of SP energy transition curve were lower than those of base metal due to softening. The {TEX}$DBTT_{SP}${/TEX} of each microstructure in weldment of TMCP steel increased in order of HAZ, F.L and W.M against base metal, but all microstructures showed a quite lower {TEX}$DBTT_{SP}${/TEX} than those of SM50YB steel.
