Formability of AZ31 magnesium sheet alloy of warm deep drawing (AZ31 마그네슘합금의 온간디프드로잉시 판재성형특성)

  • In this study, the experiments of warm deep drawing were done with heated die, and with heated die and cooled punch in order to investigate the formability of ZA31 magnesium sheet alloy of warm deep drawing. For this, warm deep drawing experiments were executed under various temperature, punch velocity and blankholder force. The results of warm deep drawing with heated die showed that fracture occurred punch part at punch velocity of 75mm/min and punch stroke of 10mm under temperature of $100^{\circ}C\~250^{\circ}C$, but did not occure under temperature of $275^{\circ}C\~400^{\circ}C$. And fracture at punch stroke of 25mm did not occurre at punch part under punch velocity of 30mm/min and $250^{\circ}C$, but occured under punch velocity of 75 and 125 mm/min. Also the results of warm deep drawing with heated die and cooled punch showed that the temperature happening maximum height under punch velocity of 10-100mm/min was $225-250^{\circ}C$. And necking occurred at punch shoulder under $20\~150^{\circ}C$, but at die wall under $200\~300^{\circ}C$.

A Biomechanical Analysis of Four Different Taekwondo Body Punch Types in Horseback-Riding Stance (태권도 주춤 서 몸통지르기 유형별 생체역학적 변인 비교 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to compare 4 different body punch types(type 1: a punch using a shoulder, type 2: a punch using a waist, type 3: a punch using lower extremities, and type 4: a punch with elbows by your side at chest level) in horseback-riding stance and establish suitable teaching theory and method, which would be a useful reference to Taekwondo instructors on the spot(in Taekwondo dojangs all around Korea). Five exhibition players from Korean national Taekwondo exhibition team participated in this study. Each participant was asked to perform the four different types of punches and their kinematic and kinetic data were recorded with 7 vicon cameras(125Hz) and two force plates(AMTI, 1200Hz). We analyzed displacement, time, resultant center of body mass trajectory, velocity, trunk angular velocity, and ground reaction force(GRF) from each body segment in body punch and the result. I performed 1-way ANOVA(RM) for average values of each player after standardization and statistical significance was set as p<.05. was as the following ; First, they showed a tendency to take the body punch posture with the biggest motion at a shoulder and on descending order a waist and a knee. Second, a mean time for each body punch on ascending order 0.46sec. for type 2, 0.49sec for type 3, 0.50sec. for type 4, and 0.56sec. for type 1. Third, a mean resultant center of body mass trajectory for each body punch the longest 4.07cm for type 3 and the shortest 2.458cm for type 1. Fourth, a mean of maximal velocity of a fist strike was the fastest 5.99m/s for type 3, 5.93m/s for type 4, 5.67m/s for type 2, and 5.01m/s for type 1 on the descending order. Fifth, a mean of maximal trunk angular velocity of the fastest 495.6deg./sec. for type 4 and 337.7deg./sec. for type 1 on the descending order. Sixth, strongest value was type 3, 2 for anterior-posterior ground reaction force(left -54.89N, right 60.58N), type 4 for medial-lateral GRF(left 83.59N, right -80.12N), and type 3 for vertical GRF(left 341.79N, right 426.11N).

Local Buckling Analysis of the Punch in stamping Die and Its Design Modification (타발금형펀치의 국부 좌굴해석 및 설계변경)

  • The lead frame manufactured by press stamping process, is an important part of semiconductor. The recent technical trend of semiconductor, chip sized and high performance package technology, requires the lead frame to be of more multi-leads and of fine ILP (Inner Lead Pitch). As the ILP is getting finer, its corresponding punch of the stamping die is getting narrower. The punch narrower than its stamping limit has been broken due to local buckling. This paper analyzed the phenomena of punch breakdown. Moreover, the punch design was modified to increase the critical limit of buckling force. This paper, also, suggested new design rules of the punch, which asks the modification of its lead frame design that has to be considered in the stage of semiconductor package design. The new design rules of lead frame design yields a good reliability of semiconductor package as well as a good quality of lead frame.

Punch Properties of Some Vegetables (몇가지 채소류의 펀치특성)

  • In order to investigate the punch properties of some vegetables-cucumber, radish, garlic, ginger and potato-force, distance, and time were measured with a texturometer, and the correlations between compositions and cell characteristics of samples were characterized. Many reflection and rupture points on the force-distance and distance-time curve were observed, and these points appeared when the cells of sample were resisted and yielded against the applied force. They were big and clear at the slow crosshead speed. The regression analysis for force-time and distance-time to the rupture point showed $R^{2}>0.95$. The rupture time and rupure force were 5.63 sec, 4.88 N in ginger and 4.15 sec, 2.00 N in cucumber. The rupture forces become large values at the fast crosshead speed. As cell sizes were increased, the moisture content and rupture distance were increased, while the viscosity of juice, density, regularity of cell, and slope of force-time were decreased. Rupture force, time and distance were decreased at the large specific gravity of samples. The slopes of distance-time curve were inversely proportional to slope of force-time curve.

  • Hot press forming is a new forming process which also names as hot stamping. It can greatly enhance the formability of forming parts. This paper researches the formability of boron steel sheet in hot bending process which is a kind of hot press forming. In the text, the influence of hot press forming processing parameters, such as the heating temperature, blank holding force, punch speed and punch and die radius, on the mechanics properties and microstructure of the hot bending parts was analyzed by tension test and the metallographic observation on the parts with various processing parameters. The relationship between blank holding force and punch load was also presented.

  • One characteristic of Fine-Blanking is that the size and the direction of stress and strain are very complex in the plastic flow according to the condition of blanking. Especially, they are affected by the clearance of punch and die, by the force of blanking holder and by the force of counter punch. The purpose of this research is to how the deformation behavior in shear zone more clearly, based on Green & Cauch's large deformation theory. The deformation behavior and cracks were investigated in each step of shear, according to punch penetration increase, the use of V-indenter ring and the hardness of materials. This research found that the transforming behavior was the same as pure discretion and the cracks could be prevented when hardness is low.

Therefore, the knowledge of the influence of the process variables is needed in the design of sheet metal working processes. In this paper, deep drawing tests for blank holding force, punch speed and lubrication between sheet material and tool were carried out to investigate the influence upon sheet formability. Experimental results were discussed about the defects on the deformation behaviors during the forming process.

  • Blanking processing is one of the shear processing method in which the cut part becomes a product and piercing processing is a press molding process in which the cut part is discarded as a scrap. The shear angle of the punch used for blanking is determined by conditions such as the characteristics of the shear material, shear thickness and shear length. The shear angle of a punch is an important factor in determining the size of the shear load, the life of the shear punch, the deformation of the shear product and the quality of burrs In this study, blanking punches applied with four types of shear angles (i.e., 0°, 0°23", 0°46", 0°69") to the blanking punches of bracket products used in practical work were manufactured and tested. In the blanking experiment, the remaining variables except for the shear angle were the same. Experiments show that the product has the least amount of deformation in blanking punches with a shear angle equal to the material thickness, i.e., 0°46"..

Evaluations of Swaging Process for Rotor Core of Induction Motors (유도전동기 회전자 제작시 압입작업 평가)

  • This study evaluates the magnitudes and distributions of contact tangential forces with the swaging depth of punch acting at the contact surfaces between a rotor core slot and a Cu bar during a sequential rotor core swaging process. The effects of the core slot shape on the magnitudes and distributions of the total contact forces were investigated to improve the productivity of the rotor core swaging process. Parametric elastic-plastic numerical analyses were performed using simplified two-dimensional cyclic symmetric plane strain models to evaluate the contact force distributions at the contact surfaces. The numerical analysis results show that the total contact tangential forces increased by about 55% with the adjacent Cu bar swaging process. The length of the core slot is a dominant factor in the core slot design as result of the increased total contact tangential forces during the swaging process of the rotor core.
