Robust Sensorless Sliding Mode Flux Observer for DTC-SVM-based Drive with Inverter Nonlinearity Compensation

  • This paper presents a robust and speed-sensorless stator flux estimation for induction motor direct torque control. The proposed observer is based on sliding mode approach. Stator electrical equations are used in the rotor orientation reference frame to eliminate the observer dependence on rotor speed. Lyapunov's concept for systems stability is adopted to confine the observer gain. Furthermore, the sensitivity of the observer to parameter mismatch is recovered with an adaptation technique. The nonlinearities of the pulse width modulation voltage source inverter are estimated and compensated to enhance stability at low speeds. Therefore, a new method based on the model reference adaptive system is proposed. Simulation and experimental results are shown to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

  • The electric power wheelchair needs to control motor torque and speed for responding to variable actions given by handling a joystick. In this paper a DSP-based BLDC motor controller using a single dc-link current sensor is presented for electric power wheelchair. It is composed by a DSP processor and three-phase inverter module. To control torque, high speed current control is achieved by the PI controller and pulse width modulation (PWM) signals with 25 kHz carrier frequency, which is performed by 200 ${\mu}sec$ cycle. The speed controller computes the new direct current reference from the speed error and the PI control equation. The displacement value by handling the joystick is converted to reference speeds of right and left wheel motors using nonholonomic wheelchair kinematics. Experimental results show that the presented control system is enough to implement a speed servo in wheelchair driving.

  • A study to reduce the transient torque in shifting in automatic transmission has been very important issue. Recently it is really dominant to decrease the torque by using independent-acting hydraulic circuit because we can control the clutch pressure actively and elaborately. So we design the new hydraulic circuit to control the clutches in automatic transmission and make the module library of computer simulations, We apply the results to GM model automatic transmission and carry out 1longrightarrow4 shifting simulations. By this work we recognize the capability of active and elaborate clutch pressure control using new hydraulic circuit. In addition We develop the tool to simulate the powertrain system. It is easier to update and exchange the subsystem model or parameters than conventional simulation tools.

  • Voltage controlled current regulated PWM(pulse width modulation) of VSI (voltage source inverter) is proposed. Adopting one degree of freedom, the voltage, the current controller shows much more improvement than conventional ones not using this method. The voltage controller or this proposal needs load's parameters, torque value, rotational speed. This voltage controller is located at converter part which links AC source and DC bus. With this proposed method, duty ratio of the inverter's switching is nearly unity for all speed and torque range. Hence, this method gets many advantages such as reducing current ripple, thermal loss, and noises and improving control performances. Theoretical approach to this voltage-current controller is performed, and the results are presented.

  • This paper suggests a control technique of the sensorless brushless DC (BLDC) motor drive for a vehicle fuel pump application. The sensorless technique based on a comparator and a potential start-up method with high starting torque are proposed. The comparator is used to generate the commutation signals in phase with the three-phase back-EMFs. The rotor position is aligned at standstill for maximum starting torque without an additional sensor and any information of motor parameters. Also, the stator current can be easily adjusted by modulating the pulse width of the switching devices during alignment. Some experiments are implemented on a single chip 16-bit DSP controller to demonstrate the feasibility of the sensorless techniques.

  • In this paper, we present a sliding mode control strategy for the re-orientation maneuver of rigid spacecraft containing rotating wheels. The wheels are considered as internal devices, and external inputs are employed for generation of control commands. The formulation is developed for a general case while particular example is applied to pitch bias momentum spacecraft with a single momentum wheel. The resultant control commands are used to take the gyroscopic effects into account which are caused by the rotating wheels. The controller designed demonstrates that the nutational motion of the pitch bias momentum spacecraft is effectively controlled. It is also assumed that the external control torque device is of on-off nature, and pulse width modulation technique is applied to construct proper control torque history.

  • This paper presents a microprocesser based Self-Controller for a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PMSM), fed by voltage soure inverter. The proper operation of the PMSM can be ensured only if the stator current is always synchronized with the its Back-E.M.F. The use of incremantal encoder with high resolution makes it possible to design a Self-Control led P.W.M. inverter. The pulse ratios are controlled to reduce the torque ripple in the low-speed drive region. And during the operation, torque - speed characteristics are improved by the control of optimal load angle.

  • The goal of this paper is optimal switching angle of switched reluctance motor drive system fur maximum energy ratio. A new magnetizing method with a low-frequency increasing the energy conversion ratio that is related to the efficiency of motor is proposed. As the results, it improved the efficiency about 2[%]. And a torque ripple is also sufficiently reduced compared with that of the conventional approach. In order tn start softly regardless of large ripple torque, the profile of phase current is predicted by the ANFIS, and current control mode was adapted when it is operated under the starting speed. Variable implementations en the fields will guarantee the more practical drive system.

  • This paper investigates a novel speed sensorless control method of I.M considering the secondary resistance identification based on the transientless torque control technique. Especially, this paper aimed at the identification of the secondary resistance simultaneously with speed estimation superposing of sinusoidal flux wave to a constant flux value. Furthermore, the secondary flux with some frequency is controlled independently on torque control. The proposed speed estimation method is derived from a motor circuit equation theoretically and also it can be conducted easily by detecting primary motor currents and primary voltage commands at every sampling time. Some numerical simulations with the assumption of using a pulse width modulation(PWM) voltage source inverter are performed to verify the proposed method.

  • In this paper, a speed estimation based on the quick torque control is proposed to realize speed sensorless control in a full range of induction motors. The proposed method can be formulated simply from a motor circuit equation and conducted easily by detecting primary motor currents and a voltage command at every sampling time. Since the method need not the differential values of primary currents in an arithmetic of a speed, it can be expected to improve the precision of speed estimation in a very low speed area, especially. Some numerical simulations were conducted with the assumption of using a Pulse Width Modulation voltage source inverter.
