LCL Filter Design Method for Grid-Connected PWM-VSC

  • In recent years, several LCL filter design methods for different converter topologies have been published, many of which use analytical expressions to calculate the ideal converter AC voltage harmonic spectrum. This paper presents the LCL filter design methodology but the focus is on presentation and validation of the non-iterative filter design method for a grid-connected three-phase two-level PWM-VSC. The developed method can be adapted for different converter topologies and PWM algorithms. Furthermore, as a starting point for the design procedure, only the range of PWM carrier frequencies is required instead of an exact value. System nonlinearities, usually omitted from analysis have a significant influence on VSC AC voltage harmonic spectrum. In order to achieve better accuracy of the proposed procedure, the system nonlinear model is incorporated into the method. Optimal filter parameters are determined using the novel cost function based on higher frequency losses of the filter. An example of LCL filter design for a 40 kVA grid-connected PWM-VSC has been presented. Obtained results have been used to construct the corresponding laboratory setup and measurements have been performed to verify the proposed method.

  • In this paper, UPS, with a built-in instantaneous sag drop compensation features, was developed to improve performance. The improved UPS, using instantaneous moving average method, compensates by quickly measuring the voltage and series inverter of half-bridge type, using line-interactive method that links with the voltage of the battery and power source, was developed. In addition, by developing a parallel inverter that uses a high-efficiency PWM switching method, overall UPS system was enhanced. To verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, single-phase 5[kVA] UPS systems were designed and the experimental system was constructed. The low-cost type of Cortex-M3 module CPU STM32F103R8T6 (32[bit]) is attached and the switching time of mode transfer was set within 4 [ms]. THD of the linear load operates in less than 3[%], and the stability of the output voltage operates in approximately ${\pm}2[%]$ range. The superior performance of the operations was confirmed with the system set as above.

  • 본 연구는 최근 관심이 높아지고 있는 스위치드 릴럭턴스 전동기(SRM)를 적용한 소형 지게차의 구동시스템 개발에 관한 연구이다. SRM은 스위칭 전원에 적절한 전동기구로서, 전력전자기술의 발달에 힘입어 최근 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존 소형 전기지게차에 사용되어지고 있는 직류직권 전동기를 경제적이고 고효율, 견고성, 넓은범위의 속도제어가 가능한 스위치드 릴럭턴스 전동기(Switched Reluctance Motor, 이하 SRM)로 대체하기 위해 저전압용 전동기를 설계하고 이 전동기를 구동하기 위한 구동 시스템을 개발하였다. 또한 실제 전기 지게차에 적용하기 위하여 구동시스템의 운전특성을 확인하였다.

  • This paper proposes a new non-isolated DC conversion circuit topology of the voltage source coupled inductor series resonant high-frequency PFM controlled boost chopper type DC-DC power converter using two in one IGBT power module, which can efficiently operate under a principle of zero current soft switching for wide output regulation voltage setting ranges and wide fluctuation of the input DC side voltage as well as the load variation ranges. Its steady state operating principle and the output voltage regulation characteristics in the open-loop-based output voltage control scheme without PI controller loop are described and evaluated from theoretical and experimented viewpoints. Finally, in this paper the computer-aided simulation steady-state analysis and the experimental results are presented in order to prove the effectiveness and the validity of voltage regulation characteristics of the proposed series resonant zero current soft switching boost chopper type DC-DC power converter circuit using IGBTs which is based on simple pulse frequency modulation strategy more than, 20kHz.

  • This paper presents an electronic ballast using a step down converter, a low frequency inverter for high pressure discharge lamp. The proposed ballast is composed of a full-wave rectifier, a step down converter operated as a current source with power regulation and a low frequency inverter with ignition circuit. The ignition circuit generates high voltage pulse of 1${\sim}$2[kV] peak, 130[Hz]. Moreover, it is able to reignite at regular intervals by protective circuit. As experimental results on the test, lamp voltage, current and consumption power are measured 132.5[V], 7.6[A] and 1,005[W], respectively. It was confirmed that the designed ballast operate the lamp with a constant power.

DBD 전극구조에서의 He 가스 글로우방전 특성연구 (The Study on the Properties of He Glow discharge in a Dielectric Barrier Discharge (DBD) Model)

  • Light sources induced by gas discharge using rare gases have been widely used in the thin film deposition, the surface modification and the polymer etching. A dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) has been developed in order to consistently emit light and control the wavelength of the emission light. However, much research on the characteristics of the movement of discharge particles is required to improve the efficiency of the light lamp and the life-time of the light apparatus in detail. In this paper, we developed a He DBD discharge simulation tool and investigated the characteristics of discharge particles which were electrons, two positive ions ($He^+$, $He_2^+$) and 5 excited particles ($He^*(1S)$, $He^*(3S)$, $He^*$, $He^{**}$, $He^{***}$). The discharge currents showed the transition from pulse mode to continuous mode with the increase of power. With the accumulated charges on the barrier walls, the discharge current was rapidly increased and caused oscillation of the discharge voltage. As the gas pressure increased, $He_2^+$ and $He^*(3S)$ became the dominant activated particles. The input power was mostly consumed by electrons and $He_2^+$ ion. And the change curve showed that power consumption by electrons increased more with gas pressure than with source voltage or frequency.

  • 본 논문에서는 $0.25{\mu}m$ GaN HEMT 공정을 사용하여 ETRI에서 개발된 $80{\times}150{\mu}m$의 트랜지스터를 사용하여 X-대역에서 동작하는 50 W급 내부 정합 전력 증폭기를 설계 및 제작하였다. 임피던스 변환용 사전 정합 회로를 사용한 로드풀 측정으로 최적의 소스 및 부하 임피던스를 실험적으로 추출하였고, 성능을 예측하였다. 유전율 10.2의 기판을 사용하여 제작된 내부 정합 전력 증폭기의 전력 성능은 펄스 주기 $100{\mu}s$, 듀티 10 %의 펄스 모드 조건에서 측정되었으며, 최대 성능으로는 9.2 GHz에서 47.46 dBm(55.5 W)의 출력 전력과 46.6 %의 전력부가효율이 측정되었다. 9.0~9.5 GHz의 주파수에서 출력 전력은 47~47.46 dBm(50~55.7 W)의 값이 측정되었고, 전력부가효율은 9.0~9.3 GHz에서 43 % 이상, 9.4~9.5 GHz에서는 36 % 이상의 효율이 측정되었다.

  • 전압형 컨버터의 다양한 전압 합성 방법을 구현하기 위해서, 옵셋 전압을 주입하는 방법이 널리 사용되고 있다. 즉, 전압 변조 방식(pulse width modulation; PWM)들은 교류 측 전압 지령에 적절한 옵셋 전압을 주입하는 것과 수학적으로 동일하다. 이러한 옵셋 전압을 이용한 AC 단 출력 전압 합성 방법에 따라 DC 단 전압의 전압 이용률이 달라지며, 이는 모듈형 다단 컨버터(modular multilevel converter; MMC) 시스템에서도 동일하다. 따라서, DC 단의 용량이 정해져 있는 고압 직류(high voltage DC; HVDC) 송전 시스템의 경우에도 AC 단에 옵셋 전압을 이용함에 따라 AC 단으로 공급 가능한 최대 무효 전력의 크기를 변화시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 대표적인 전압 변조 방식을 적용한 옵셋 전압 주입 시 합성된 AC 측 출력 전압에 따라 MMC 시스템의 레그 에너지 맥동을 수학적으로 분석하였다. 또한, 이를 실제 스케일의 400MVA급 MMC 시스템 시뮬레이션을 통해 수학적 분석의 경향성을 검증하였다.

Compensation of the Error Rate for the Non-invasive Sphygmomanometer System Using a Tactile Sensor

  • The Purpose Of This Paper Is To Use A Tactile Sensor To Compensate The Error Rate. Most Automated Sphygmomanometers Use The Oscillometric Method And Characteristic Ratio To Estimate Systolic And Diastolic Blood Pressure. However, Based On The Fact That Maximum Amplitude Of The Oscillometric Waveform And Characteristic Ratio Are Affected By Compliance Of The Aorta And Large Arteries, A Method To Measure The Artery Stiffness By Using A Tactile Sensor Was Chosen In Order To Integrate It With The Sphygmomanometer In The Future Instead Of Using Photoplethysmography. Since Tactile Sensors Have Very Weak Movements, Efforts Were Made To Maintain The Subject's Arm In A Fixed Position, And A 40hz Low Pass Filter Was Used To Eliminate Noise From The Power Source As Well As High Frequency Noise. An Analyzing Program Was Made To Get Time Delay Between The First And Second Peak Of The Averaged Digital Volume Pulse(${\Delta}t_{dvp}$), And The Subject's Height Was Divided By ${\Delta}t_{dvp}$ To Calculate The Stiffness Index Of The Arteries($Si_{dvp}$). Regression Equations Of Systolic And Diastolic Pressure Using $Si_{dvp}$ And Mean Arterial Pressure(Map) Were Computed From The Test Group (60 Subjects) Among A Total Of 121 Subjects(Age: $44.9{\pm}16.5$, Male: Female=40:81) And Were Tested In 61 Subjects To Compensate The Error Rate. Error Rates Considering All Subjects Were Systolic $4.62{\pm}9.39mmhg$, And Diastolic $14.40{\pm}9.62mmhg$, And Those In The Test Set Were $3.48{\pm}9.32mmhg,\;And\;14.34{\pm}9.67mmhg$ Each. Consequently, Error Rates Were Compensated Especially In Diastolic Pressure Using $Si_{dvp}$, Various Slopes From Digital Volume Pulse And Map To Systolic-$1.91{\pm}7.57mmhg$ And Diastolic $0.05{\pm}7.49mmhg$.

인버터 구동 유도전동기에서 과도전압의 측정과 분석 (Measurement and Analysis of Transient Voltage for an Inverter-fed Induction Motor)

  • 유도전동기는 전기차량의 주요 동력원으로 광범위하게 사용되고 있으며, 유도전동기의 속도제어에 펄스변조 방식을 이용한 인버터의 사용이 증가하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 유도전동기의 인버터 구동시 발생하는 과도전압에 대해 연구하였다. 전원 케이블의 길이에 따른 과도전압의 크기를 측정하였으며, 시간변화율과 운전주파수에 의한 영향을 분석하였다. 실험결과, 케이블의 길이가 길어짐에 따라 과도전압의 최대값이 증가하였으며 50m 케이블에서 과도전압의 크기는 최대 3.3PU까지 측정되었다. 이러한 현상은 진행파의 반사와 투과에 의해 발생하며, 유도전동기의 인버터 구동시 케이블의 길이에 따른 과도전압의 영향을 고려하여 유도전동기의 절연을 설계해야 할 것이다.
