Development of Continuous and Scalable Nanomanufacturing Technologies Inspired by Traditional Machining Protocols Such as Rolling, Pullout, and Forging (롤압연, 압출, 단조 등 전통 기계가공법의 모사 응용을 통한 다양한 나노패턴의 대면적 연속생산 기술 구현)

  • We present a series of simple but novel nanopatterning methodologies inspired by traditional mechanical machining processes involving rolling, pullout, and forging. First, we introduce roll-to-roll nanopatterning, which adapts conventional rolling for continuous nanopatterning. Then, nano-inscribing and nano-channel lithography are demonstrated, whereby seamless nanogratings can be continuously pulled out, as in a pullout process. Finally, we discuss vibrational indentation micro- and nanopatterning. Similarly to the forging/indentation process, this technique employs high-frequency vertical vibration to indent periodic micro/nanogratings onto a horizontally fed substrate. We discuss the basic principles of each process, along with its advantages, disadvantages, and potential applications. Adopting mature and reliable traditional technologies for small-scale machining may allow continuous nanopatterning techniques to cope with scalable and low-cost nanomanufacturing in a more productive and trustworthy way.

  • Currently the gamification as marketing technique has appeared in the field non-related with game, applied to game elements. The alternate reality game pulled down the boundary between the real and the virtual has come out. New trend game has shown beyond the range of the existing game. The possibility has import into online baseball simulation game. The objective of this research is the exploratory approach to build GOMS model through three subjects to the famous pro-baseball manager game. After game playing session, three subjects' utterance with game experience was recorded. We built the goal hierarchy of goal in GOMS to pro-baseball manager game to analyze the vocabulary in three subjects' utterance. We try to find the possibility of gamification in alternate reality game interacting between the real and the virtual, and demolishing them.

Case Study of Yunhaju Settlement for Korye Saram Migrated from Middle Asian Countries (중앙아시아에서 연해주 정착촌으로 재이주한 재소한인 가족의 주거생활 사례연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the push and pull factors of migrants from middle Asian countries to Yunhaju, Russia, and housing situations in settlements as well as housing intentions to behave. Four female Korye Saram in Cremobo settlement and Woojung village and 10 male and female elderly in ordinary residences were interviewed during April 22-25, 2003. Changes in national formal language from Russian to lout languages was played the most prominent push role, while availability of settlement and agricultural land and emotional attachment as the second hometown pulled them to migrate into Yunhaju. The housing situation in Cremobo settlement was very poor and almost settlers had already left. The rest settlers wanted to move into Woojung village. The resident in Woojung village hoped to get the formal contract to rent the dwelling and agricultural land. Family adaptations were progressed to solve the housing deficits among settlers both of Cremobo settlement and Woojung village. This research explored a part of the 140 years residential history of Korye Saram.

  • ln this paper, a micromachined micromechanical switch is presented. The presented switch is operated in the vertical direction to the substrate by an electrostatic force between two parallel plates. The moving plate is pulled down to connect the bumps of the bias node$(V_{DD}/ or GND)$ to the bumps of the output node when a oltage difference exists between the moving plate and the input plate. The switch was designed to operate at a low switching voltage$(\risingdotseq5V)$ by including a large-area, narrow-gap, parallel plate capacitor A theoretical analysis of the designed switch was performed in order to determine its geometry fitting the desired pull-in voltage and release voltage. The designed switch was fabricated by surface micromachining combined with Ni electroplating. From the experimental results of the fabricated switch, its pull-in voltage came Out to be less than 5V and the measured maximum allowable current was 150mA. The measured average ON-state resistance was about 8$\Omega$, and the OFF-state resistance was too high to be measured with digital multimeter.

Study on uplift performance of stud connector in steel-concrete composite structures

  • The main role of studs, which act as connectors of the steel-concrete composite structures, is to ensure that the steel and the concrete work together as a whole. The studs in steel-concrete composite structures bear the shearing force in the majority of cases, but in certain locations, such as the mid-span of a simply supported composite beam, the studs bear axial uplift force. The previous studies mainly focused on the shearing performance of the stud by some experimental and theoretical effort. However, rare studies involved the uplift performance of studs. In this paper, the single stud uplift test on 10 composite specimens was performed. Meanwhile, based on the test, numerical analysis was introduced to simulate the concrete damage process due to the stud uplifted from concrete. The static ultimate bearing capacity, under which the stud connector was pulled out from the damaged reinforced concrete, is much larger than the cyclic ultimate bearing capacity, under which the weld joint between stud and steel plate fractured. According to the fatigue test results of 7 specimens, the fatigue S-N curve of the construction detail after minus 2 times standard deviation is $logN=24.011-9.171\;log{\Delta}{\sigma}$, the fatigue strength corresponding to $2{\times}10^6$ cycles is 85.33 MPa.

Identification of Irradiated Granule-Type Ramen Soup Powder by Pulsed Photostimulated Luminescence and Thermoluminescence during Storage

  • This study was carried out to establish a method for determining if granule-type Ramen soup powder has been irradiated. Thermoluminescence (TL) and pulled photostimulated luminescence (PPSL) were used as the detection methods through observed changes of TL and PPSL intensities after storage under differing conditions. PPSL intensities increased with increases in irradiation doses. The threshold level of PPSL was below 412$\pm$58 photon counts regardless of storage conditions (room and darkroom) after 10 months. TL intensities also increased with increasing irradiation doses. The coefficients ($R^2$) of PPSL (0.74~0.94) and TL intensities (0.92~0.58) were very highly correlated with irradiation dose. The PPSL and TL intensities were decreased after 10 months of storage. These results indicate that discrimination of irradiated from non-irradiated granule-type Ramen soup powder is possible using TL and PPSL methods despite the decrease in intensities of TL and PPSL with increasing storage times.

  • This Paper suggests a new feature for shot detection, using the proposed robust feature from the DC image constructed by DCT DC coefficients in the MPEG video stream, and proposes the characterizing value that reflects the characteristic of kind of video (movie, drama, news, music video etc.). The key frames are pulled out from many frames by using the local minima and maxima of differential of the value. After original frame(not do image) are reconstructed for key frame, indexing process is performed through computing parameters. Key frames that are similar to user's query image are retrieved through computing parameters. It is proved that the proposed methods are better than conventional method from experiments. The retrieval accuracy rate is so high in experiments.

Tensile Strength of Post-Installed High-Shear Ring Anchors (HRA) After Shear Loading (전단 하중을 경험한 후설치 고전단 링앵커의 인장 강도)

  • Tensile load tests were conducted on High-Shear Ring Anchors (HRAs) after shear load had been applied to the HRAs, which had been developed to reduce the number of the anchors. Test variables include the embedment length of the rod and the width of the specimens and a total of 12 specimens were tested. Test results show that the HRAs pulled out due to bond failure or steel failure occurred in case that the HRAs were installed to the members with 300mm or greater width and the embedment length of 160mm (the actual embedment of rod is 140mm) or deeper. Except 4 HRAs showing steel failure of rod, the minimum and average of test-to-prediction by ACI 318-14 ratios are 1.18 and 1.79, respectively. The tensile strength of HRAs, after shear load was applied to the HRAs, can be safely evaluated by the minimum among the concrete breakout strength and bond strength with the actual embedment length of the rod.

Mechanical Mechanism of Main Tunnels and Cross Passage Construction - A 3D Numerical Investigation

  • This paper presents the results of a three-dimensional numerical investigation into the mechanical mechanism of main tunnels and cross passage construction. Aimed at the complex space structure composed of two main tunnels and cross passage, 3D numerical model of the structure and surrounding rock was built to analyze the influence. Comparative analysis of different buried depths were carried out. The results of the study indicate that the stress concentration was occurred in the intersecting linings, especially in the opening side lining, which leads to an unfavorable form of force that is pulled up by the upper and lower sections in the intersecting linings due to the construction of the cross passage. The excavation of the cross passage also destroys the stability of the original soil layer and causes settlement of the surface and main tunnels. Practical implications of the findings are discussed.

  • The fashion of late Yi dynasty had explored a possibility of new fashional beauty from its own experiences throughout the history of Korean fashion excluding any interference of foreign fashions, and brought out some characteristics ; first, the aesthetical value focused on the more human fashion resulted in the exposure of waist. This aesthetical change in the fashion of late Yi dynasty produced out results as follows ; the length and width of jacket became short and narrow maintaining the basic form, while the width of skirt became increased to be contrasted exceptionally with the upper coat. This mode of fashion reveals the transitional movement from the emphasis on balance to that on unbalance in the late period of Yi dynasty. But regarding the fact that the proportional change by the ways of putting on skirt became to be similar to the golden ratio, we can see many examples throughout the folk paintings by Shin Yun bok, we find that the fashional beauty of that age pursued ideal harmony and unity all the time being in spite of its tendency toward non-refinement. Second, we see another peculiarity in the mode of woman's fashion from the paintings by Shin Yun-bok who always depicted the hu-man nature frankly. For example, the jacket became shorter to emphasize lady's slim waist, and underwears began to be exposed after the upper part of skirt had been to expose lady's waist while the bottom line pulled up highter than before. Thus, as the function of robe had changed from a mere means of covering into an expression of beauty, the fashion of late Yi dynasty began to express a perfectly new beauty possessing an erotic mood and sensu-ality of a woman, which was its inner aesthetic need. Third, this emergence of new fashional beauty made the mental value of man and the aesthetic views of that time quite different from the previous ones, and finally there came various expressions of a new beauty. There-fore, the woman's fashion of late Yi dynasty is noted for the exposure and emphasis on the body line of a woman after the aesthetic view-point had changed of time toward pragmatism and humanism, while upholding the traditions of Korean clothes and pride for the nation. And our ancestors realized very Korean fashional beauty by pursuing the expressional ways of gentle, indirect emphasis upon the feminine and natural beauty to exclude and ar-tificial, direct and straightforward exposures and images.
