Paper Submission and Examination Management System established by Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine(KIOM) provided a momentum for the sub-societies of Korean Oriental Medical Society(KOMS) to standardize the process of publishing a journal of papers. Also, the system helped a researcher to reduce time-consuming and to increase their research efficiency. Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine(KIOM) is planning to optimize this system reflecting the current conditions of KOMS through its steady updates.

In this paper, we propose a graphic system for high speed generation of bitmap font data from the outline font data such as PostScript, etc. In desk-top publishing system. A VLSI chip called KAFOG was designed for the high-speed calculation of a cubic Bezier curve, which was implemented in 1.5\ulcorner CMOS gate array using 17,000 gates. A cubic Bezier curve is approximated by a set of line segments in KAFOG at the throughput of 250K curves per second with the clock frequency of 40 MHz. A prototype graphic system was developed using two MC6800 microprocessors and the KAFOG chip. Two microprocessors cooperate in a master and slave mode, and handshaking is used for communication between two processors. KAFOG chip, being controlled by the slave processor, operates as a coprocessor for the calculation of the outline font. The throughput of the prototype graphic system is 40 64$\times$64 outline fonts per sencond.

The historical study reveals that our ancestors had maintained a system which could produce data on population and households. The main purposes of maintaing the system at that time were taxation and conscription. At the present time, however, there are three major data sources which produce the statistics on pop-ulation and households in Korea : Civil Registration System, Resident Registration System and Popula-tion Census. These three systems are found to have some problems. there are some inherent problems in the regis-tration systems, such as problems in its coverage, accuracies in contents and timeliness in reporting the vital events and publishing the results. The population census has also non- sampling erors, such as errors in coverage, respone and non-response. Apart from the above mentioned problems, there are also conflicting problems arised from having three data sources, We can find some overlapping problems and difficulties in comparative studies. In the future, these problems should be considered for the improvement of the quality of statistics on population and household.

We designed and implemented electronic catalog system for 3D CAD using XML. The XML(extensible Markup Language) is a Markup Language to describe data structure. XML was originally designed to meet the challenges of large-scale electronic publishing. XML Is also playing an increasingly important role in the exchange of a wide variety of data on the Web and elsewhere. This XML catalog helps you easily create and edit the construction materials data. If you want to obtain informations from the construction materials data which is used by object-oriented 3-D CAD program then this system helps you.

Eastman Kodak Co. has announced the concept of photo CD System in September, 1990 With Photo CD System technology, Kodak Co. Furnishes a convinent way to view, use and store photographic images. The heart of this system is a format provides progressively higher levels of image quality to meet the demands of NTSC, PAL and HDTV video displays as well as hard copy output. Also, image professionals are instrested in the capability of Photo CD, such as a way to store image at low cost in a high-resolution digital format that can be played back on different computer platforms. Many editors wish to use Photo CD images in the printing and publishing industry. However, Photo CD images were not processed detail enhancement and some others to use in the lithographic offset printing. Therefore, in this paper discribes a method to improve the sharpness of Photo CD images.

최근 대학의 연구 역량이 기술혁신에서 매우 중요한 역할을 한다는 것이 널리 인식되면서 이에 따른 산학협력의 강화가 선진국은 물론 개도국에서도 중요한 정책이슈로 부각되었다. 그러나 국내에서는 다양한 산학협력 프로그램의 강화에도 불구하고 어떤 조건에서 산학협력이 의미 있는 결실을 맺을 수 있는지에 대한 연구는 드물다. 이러한 배경에 따라 선진국에서 이루어지고 있는 대학의 특허활동과 연구활동 사이의 관계에 대한 기존 논의를 보완론과 대체론으로 대별시켜 검토해보았다. 보완론은 자원효과와 마태효과 등을 통해 특허나 논문 활동이 서로 선순환 구조를 이루는 것으로 설명하는 반면, 대체론은 과학자 사회의 근본규범이 비공개문제와 왜곡효과 등으로 논문으로 대변되는 과학활동이 위축될 것을 우려하고 있다. 본 연구는 한국학술진흥재단 DB의 자료추출로 구축한 지난 16년 간 국내 대학교수의 연구활동과 특허활동에 대한 패널데이터를 통해 특허활동이 연구활동에 어떤 영향을 끼쳤는지를 분석해보았다. 분석 결과, 국내 대학교수들의 경력, 소속대학, 전공을 통제하였을 경우, 특허 등록수로 측정된 활동이 출간된 논문수로 측정된 연구활동에 긍정적으로 기여하고 있음을 검증하였다. 이에 따라 향후 학술연구 지원활동에 대한 정책적 시사점을 도출하였다.

학술단행본은 지식의 표현과 전달에 있어서 중요한 기능을 하고 있으며 동시에 학술연구의 중요한 성과물이다. 대학출판부는 상업성이 낮은 학술단행본을 발간하는 최후의 보루로 여겨진다. 하지만 국내 대학출판부를 통한 학술단행본의 규모와 내용에 대한 체계적인 데이터가 부족하다. 본 연구는 국립중앙도서관의 온라인 목록을 기반으로 1950년대부터 2015년까지의 대학출판부 출판 통계를 수집하고 분석하였다. 총 21,015건의 서지데이터가 분석에 사용되었다. 2001년부터 2015년까지 발간된 자료에 대해서는 학술단행본 여부에 대한 추정을 시도하였다. 국내 대학출판부를 통한 단행본 출판은 1970-80년대의 완만한 상승기를 거쳐 1990년대에 급격한 성장을 보였으나 2005년을 정점으로 하락하는 추세를 보이고 있다. 또한 학술단행본보다 어학교재, 강의교재 및 교양 관련 서적 발간의 비중이 더 높은 것으로 나타났으며 대학출판부 간의 출판 규모 및 학술단행본 발간 비중에서도 큰 격차가 있다. 저자 유형에 있어서는 1인 저서의 비중이 가장 높고 번역서의 경우 일정한 비율을 보이고 있지만 편집 저서의 경우 상당한 감소 추세를 보인다. 주제분야별 출판 분석에서는 사회과학 도서의 비중이 가장 높으며 분야별로 학술단행본의 비중은 큰 차이를 보인다.

Recently, KARI developed in-house meteorological sensor processing system named MESIS for GOES GVAR 5-CH Imager for better KOMPSAT EOC mission operation. MESIS consists of antenna system, receiver, serial telemetry card, processing and mapping software, and 2 NT PC systems. This paper shows system requirement, system design, characteristic and test results of processing system. System operation concept and sample image are also provided. Implemented system was proven to be fully operational through lots of operations covering from RF signal reception to web publishing.

The aim of this research was performance of Web-based real time DGPS using MS visual basic 6.0 Active X control. This system supported the navigation of rover by transmitting the DGPS correction information of base station via internet and monitored the moving of rover by displaying the corrected results received from rover as well as permitting Web users monitoring for rover. The Web-based DGPS server and the client system using MS visual basic 6.0 Active X control for DGPS displayed on Web-browser with the pre analysis was constructed and the system loading test via Web-browser was performed after debugging this system through the static GPS test and publishing it on Web. Also, the wireless internet DGPS test on Web by changing the distance between a base station and a rover was carried out. As the result of the test, the real time DGPS could be performed by transmitting the correction message which calculated from the server system to the client system continually. The rover could be managed by displaying the location information which received from the client system. Other users also could monitor the rover by connecting with this system via internet in real time.
