A new concept wave absorber is proposed. It is a net type wave absorber. Its efficiency was reported in another publication. Since it is based on new concept, the traditional wave absorber theory is not applicable. It is modeled by introducing damping terms in linearized free surface boundary conditions in this study. The length and the thickness of the wave absorber are modeled by the length and the coefficient of the damping terms. Series of experiments are carried out to get the data for the coefficients of the damping term. The boundary element method is adopted to solve the system. The predicted wave heights show excellent agreement with those of experiments when the lengths of the incoming waves are within the length of the wave absorber.

The Wnt/β-catenin signaling is an evolutionarily conserved pathway that plays a pivotal role in embryonic development and adult homeostasis. However, we have limited information about the involvement of Wnt/β-catenin signaling in the lymphatic vascular system that regulates fluid homeostasis by absorbing interstitial fluid and returning it to blood circulation. In this recent publication we report that canonical Wnt/β-catenin signaling is highly active and critical for the formation of lymphovenus valves (LVVs) and lymphatic valves (LVs). β-catenin directly associates with the regulatory elements of the lymphedema-associated transcription factor, FOXC2 and activates its expression in an oscillatory shear stress (OSS)-dependent manner. The phenotype of β-catenin null embryos was rescued by FOXC2 overexpression. These results suggest that Wnt/β-catenin signaling is a mechanotransducer that links fluid force with lymphatic vascular development.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the research trend of information user studies. The following findings are made. The literature on information user studies during 1980-1990 reveals 120 titles. The faculty members of university tend to publish their results in scientific journals and university publication while non-faculty members are more likely to represent their research papers in unpublished master thesis and bulletin. Subject distribution of research were classified into ten: user studies, material use studies, information needs and uses, user education, library use pattern, citation analysis, journal use, catalog use, information system, non-use study. Survey research, literature research, survey reserch and literature research use jointly, experimental research and citation analysis were employed for information user studies.

최근 학술정보를 보다 체계적으로 관리하고, 세계화하려는 노력들이 범국가적인 차원에서 진행되고 있으며, 이에 따라 다양한 기관에서 학회지의 국제화를 위한 노력을 지원하고 가이드라인을 만들어 제시하고 있다. 학술지가 세계화되기 위해서는 온라인 심사 시스템의 도입과 학회지에 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 웹싸이트의 개설 그리고 학술지의 영문화가 필요하며, 또한 이에 걸맞는 연구자들의 윤리 의식도 뒷받침 되어야 한다. 본 글을 통하여 저자는 현재 대한소아치과학회지의 실태를 점검해보고, 앞으로 우리 학회가 지향해야할 바를 점검해 보았다.

본 연구는 불질의 기반의 OPAC에서 정렬과 적합성 순위화알고리즘의 효과를 분석하고, 순위화의 성능을 평가하는 척도를 연구하였다. 연구결과 출판년도순 정렬이 저자명순, 서명순, 출판사순 정렬보다 우수하였으나 유의한 차이는 아니었다. 용어빈도수에 기반을 퍼지나 DNF 모델보다는 위치정보에 기반을 둔 알고리즘의 순위화 성능이 더 우수하였다. 6개의 순위화 성능평가척도간에 차이는 없었으며, 순위화시스템에서 정확률 P보다 분별력이 높은 단순 척도의 유용성이 확인되었다.

Year 2014 was very special to Korean mathematical society. Year 2014 was the Mathematical Year of Korea, and the International Congress of Mathematicians "ICM 2014" was held in Seoul, Korea. The year 2014 was also the 330th anniversary year of the birth of Joseon mathematician Hong JeongHa. He is one of the best, in fact the best, of Joseon mathematicians. So it is worth celebrating his birth. Joseon dynasty adopted a caste system, according to which Hong JeongHa was not in the higher class, but in the lower class of the Joseon society. In fact, he was a mathematician, a middle class member, called Jungin, of the society. We think over how Hong JeongHa was able to write his mathematical book GuIlJib in Joseon dynasty.

The LSA system in Korea was introduced for the development of the aerial sporting and recreational activities. For the development of the aerial sporting and recreational activities, multi-faceted effort is needed. We discussed only for the Aeronautical Information of the aerial sporting and recreational activities. In this study, we surveyed the status of aerial sporting and recreational activities in Korea, and international AIP(Aeronautical Information Publications). We introduced the development plans for the information service of aerial sporting and recreational activities in Korea.

In recent the XLPE cable has been applied more widely because of its advantages, such as the low-cost and simple installation. For a prefabricated joint, its working time is short, its jointing procedures aγe simple, and its quality control is easy. Electrical performance targets of our developed 66kV cable accessories has been approved through the type test in accordance with IEC publication 840. This paper describes the developmental effort in terms of the design, structure and results of performance verification tests for 66kV XLPE cable system.

The accuracy of impulse voltage measurement has been discussed and revised the IEC Publication 60-2 "High-voltage test techniques Part 2: Measuring Systems". Along with those activity, reference measuring systems have been experimentally investigated on their characteristics by step response method for lightning impulse voltage in our country. In this paper, using EMTP, we enable to clarify dominant factors affecting the unit step response, and to evaluate the construction of measuring system.

Coastal wave and tide information is very important in various occasions for port and harbor engineers, in the stages such as port and harbor planning, maritime structure design, maritime construction management, and coastal disaster study This paper introduces recent improvement of Japanese coastal wave-tide observation and information system named as NOWPHAS (Nationwide Ocean Wave information network for Ports and HArbourS).
