The study aims at illustrating the current state of public libraries in Busan metro area and to suggest strategies for the development of public libraries system in Busan. For this, the study collected data through the statistics and interviews with librarians and administrators. As a result, five goals have been suggested. Followings are the suggestions to improve the current state of the public libraries in Busan area. 1) New programs on lifetime information needs; 2) Initiatives for multicultural services in public libraries; 3) Continuous construction of new public libraries and renovation in older facilities; 4) Improvement of public library service environment, especially in personnel and collection development, and; 5) Support for the regional main library system.

The backwardness of Domestic security management system tend to depend on foreign security companies which have advanced technology. This study scrutinizes the necessity and cases of the public and pension cooperation and tries to present the way of construction of information infrastructure for the pension systems suitable for Korea. The developed countries have recently been focusing on strengthening the multi-pillar pension system, while pension education and information services have emerged as an important element of the pension cooperation. The frame of the multi-pillar-pension system in Korea has already been constructed, but it is not substantial. Especially bad information on the pension system has seriously hindered the consolidation of the pension system. In order to solve this problem, we analyzed cases of public-private cooperation systems in Iceland, New Zealand, Netherlands, and Sweden. In order to build a basic infrastructure for construction pension cooperation in Korea, it is necessary to promote information exchange and cooperation among pension organizations and to improve the pension portal of NPS 'My Pension'. In addition, this study suggests establishing an association of private and public pension schemes, which manages the integrated information and education of pension systems.

This paper describes the design and implementation of the video conferencing system using public key infrastructure which is used for user authentication and encryption. Public key infrastructure reinforces the authentication process for conference participant, and the symmetric key system blocks malicious access to information and protect conference control information. This paper shows the implementation of the trans portation layer secure protocol in conformity with Korea public key authentication algorithm standard and symmetric encryption algorithm (DES, 3DES and AES) for media stream encryption. In this paper, we deal with two ways of protecting information : transportation layer secure protocol secures user authentication process and the conference control information; while public key-based authentication system protects personal information of users when they connect to the network. When distributing the session keys for encryption, Internet Key Exchange is used for P2P communication, and secure protocol is employed for 1 : N multi-user communication in the way of distributing the public key-based en-cryption key.

This paper proposes and implements a mobile service and web service integration for utilizing public bicycle sharing system NUBIJA. The NUBIJA system is operated by Changwon City, GyeongNam since 2008 and maintains 247 unattended bicycle sharing terminal on the city. Average users per day of the NUBIJA are more than 8,000 and many users want to get more services from their mobile phones. We implemented realtime mobile bicycle rental and return information service. The informations are acquired from each terminal kiosks and we integrated the information and location based services(LBS) on iOS and Android platform. In this paper, we described an integration services between web and mobile application and shows graphical user interface for highly customized on mobile platforms.

Interest about information infrastructure construction is decayed socially according to arrival of information age, and various information systems is constructed for efficient business processing, customer service improvement in public sector. According to subjective method of performance improvement for information system of public sector and engine that propel information system construction bemuse it is no definite hardware sizing guidelines for introduction or system caterer, is calculating resources scale of information system. Is situation that problem of excess of scale or reduction sizing is happening, and is causing various kinds problem that is waste of information budget and service decline thereby. So, We proposed hardware sizing framework for information system that is applied to information programs.

In the study, we suggest that the activation plan of the public nature burial in the capital area through funeral information system as follows. First, according to the report on the social survey announced by the National Statistical Office in December 2017, the Korean people's preference of nature burial was 43.6% while the actual utilization rate of national nature burial in 2017 was only 8.8%, which showed a huge gap between preference and utilization rate of nature burial. Therefore, through the activities to improve the awareness of nature burial by performing the national promotion and education, and also the investment for the expansion or improvement of nature burial facilities in the level of central government and local government, the preference of nature burial should be led to the actual demand. Second, during the period from 2011 to 2018, the utilization rate of public nature burial in the capital area was annually increased by average 26.9%, which showed the huge increase of demand for nature burial. Thus, each local government should carry forward the policies for expanding the supply of public nature burial focusing on the woodland burial showing the high preference of users of public nature burial. Third, even though the public cremation facilities are installed or operated by local governments in the capital area, Seongnam City without the public cremation facilities should install the public nature burial for the enhancement of users convenience by providing the One Stop Total Funeral Service.

The purpose of this study is to design and test a new way of public transportation route guidance system for persons with disabilities, including wheelchair users. The guidance system is smartphone app-based, using, routes that involve disabled-friendly facilities in the vicinity can be searched. A database that contains publicly available data on low-floor bus services, location and extent of disabled-friendly facilities, and suitable subways and stations, was developed for this purpose. The app uses the database to access and query the required information. A pilot study was conducted to test the effectiveness of the guidance system. It was found that the system was able to convey information about the disabled-friendly routes and related guidance information even inside subway stations, effectively. The performance of the system was compared with route guidance services that do not explicitly use data on disabled-friendly services. A notable difference was observed in the travel time estimated by this program and other guidance services. The difference was around 4 to 15 minutes. This is significant savings for persons with disabilities if they use the app and service. The study thus shows that exclusive use of disabled-friendly data in route guidance will bring more benefits for persons with disabilities.

A study was performed to identify current drug shortages, assess impact of drug shortages on public hospitals and patients, and investigate needs of pharmacists for a drug shortage list. An e-mail survey was sent to the pharmacists of 13 national public hospitals. Total 61.5% of public hospitals has 10 or fewer drugs a year in short supply. Shortages involved mood drugs, anti-tumor drugs, analgesics, antibiotics and etc. in 2012. Among them 75.0% was prescription drugs and the other 25.0% was non-prescription drugs. 79.2% was domestic products and 20.8% was imported drugs. Only 12.5% was injections. Less than 3 pharmacists usually spent within 3 hours managing one drug shortage. Since a single item for a certain medicine may raise risk of drug shortages, it's needed to consider developing manuals, laying up medicine stocks and holding plural medicines for drug shortages in public hospitals. Main information resources of drug shortages are wholesalers or manufacturers. But the information appeared to be not only inadequate but also too late for appropriate activities. A survey of pharmacists revealed that overall 84.6% of respondents were in need of the drug shortage list. They expected it to be conducted to take proper measures for the drug shortage and to improve patient healthcare outcome and convenience. This study will contribute to improving public health by promoting stable supply of drugs and repairing the information delivery system.

Recently, people have come to enjoy using movies and music applications, such as YouTube, Netflix, and Watcha Play, on their smart devices while riding public transportation. However, they sometimes miss their destination stations because of these activities. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a disembarking notification system for public city buses using smart devices and high frequencies generated via the buses' speakers. The high frequencies are generated by the public buses' station information broadcasters. Smart devices then analyze the high-frequency signals with their inner microphones, and the proposed application displays a disembarking notification to the user when the user's destination or stop-over station's signal is the same. To evaluate this system's performance, we tested 1,000 real-time disembarking notifications, and the test results showed 98.9% accuracy. Moreover, we compared these results to those using only OpenAPI, and our proposed system featured far better outcomes. Thus, this proposed notification system can prove a useful technology for many people who often use public city buses, as it can notify specific users of their destination stations. Furthermore, this system will become innovative technology for global public transportation by informing users of their desired stations using speakers.
