Poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) polymers with different electric conductivities were synthesized directly on a FTO substrate via a chemical polymerization method and applied as a platinum (Pt)-free counter electrode for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). The catalytic properties of the PEDOT as a function of electrical conductivity were studied using cyclic voltammograms, J-V measurements and impedance spectroscopy. The PEDOT counter electrode with around 340 S/cm conductivity exhibited the best performance as a counter electrode for tri-iodide reduction. The ability to modulate catalytic activity of PEDOT with changes in conductivity shows one of promising routes for developing new counter electrode of Pt-free DSSCs.

The importance of stepped single-crystal surfaces as model catalysts has been well recognized [1]. We re-investigated the adsorption properties of $H_2$ and CO, most important species in platinum-based catalysts, on nearly defect-free and highly stepped surfaces of one and the same Pt(111) crystal. While both being symmetric and single-peaked from the nearly defect-free surface, temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) spectra from the highly stepped surface saturated at 90 K with H and CO were triply- and doubly-peaked, respectively. Once pre-adsorbed, CO preempted step and then terrace sites, inhibiting the dissociative $H_2$ adsorption completely. Pre-adsorbed H inhibited the CO adsorption on terrace sites only, leaving defect sites intact for CO adsorption even at the saturation H precoverage. On defect-free Pt(111), while pre-adsorbed CO inhibited the dissociative $H_2$ adsorption completely, pre-adsorbed H could not inhibit the CO adsorption completely. These intriguing, but interesting results are discussed in terms of energetics/kinetics and the role of surface step sites in the dissociative adsorption of $H_2$ on Pt(111) [2].
A disposable solid-state pH sensor was realized by utilizing two nanoporous Pt (npPt) electrodes and a copolyelectrolytic junction. One nanoporous Pt electrode was to measure the pH as an indicating electrode (pH-IE) and the other assembled with copolyelectrolytic junction was to maintain constant open circuit potential ($E_{oc}$) as a solid-state reference electrode (SSRE). The copolyelectrolytic junction was composed of cationic and anionic polymers immobilized by photo-polymerization of N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide, making buffered electrolytic environment on the SSRE. It was expected to make. The nanoporous Pt surrounded by a constant pH excellently worked as a solid state reference electrode so as to stabilize the system within 30 s and retain the electrochemical environment regardless of unknown sample solutions. Combination between the SSRE and the pH-IE commonly based on nanoporous Pt yielded a complete solid-state pH sensor that requires no internal filling solution. The solid state pH sensing chip is simple and easy to fabricate so that it could be practically used for disposable purposes. Moreover, the solid-state pH sensor successfully functions in calibration-free mode in a variety of buffers and surfactant samples.

[ $H_2$ ] uptake into $Pt/MoO_{3}$ was enhanced with an increased calcination temperature. Selective CO pulse chemisorption demonstrated that free Pt surface area was decreased as calcination temperature was increased. Characteristic techniques were dedicated to elucidate the closer contact at adlineation sites between Pt and $MoO_3$ substrates. Calcination resulted in supplying the hydrogen access into more $MoO_3$ particles and controlling the kinetics of hydrogen uptake.
The Gibbs free energy of formation of $BaThO_3$ from elemental oxides has been measured at temperatures between 853 and 903 K using a $CaF_2$ solid electrolyte galvanic cell. The galvanic cell consisted of Pt, $O_2, CaO+CaF_2 \parallel CaF_2 \parallelBaThO_3+ThO_2+BaF_2, O_2$, Pt EMF gave the standard Gibbs free energy for the reaction $CaF_2+BaThO_3=CaO+BaF_2+ThO_3$ as $\DeltaG^o$,/TEX>=124111.031-117.597 T(J/mol).
The formation free energy of Y2Cu2O5 was measured by the partial ion exchanged (Cu2+, Na+)-$\beta$/$\beta$"-Al2O3 as solid state electrolyte. The formation cell was built as follows: Pt(O2)/Y2Cu2O5+Y2O3//(Cu2+, Na+)-$\beta$/$\beta$"-Al2O3//CuO/(O2)Pt The virtual formation formation formula, and the calculated formation free energy of Y2Cu2O5 as a function of temperature are as follows: 2CuO+Y2O3=Y2Cu2O5 ΔfG0/kJ.mol-1=13.19-16.25*10-3T/K.5*10-3T/K.

Dye-sensitezed solar cell(DSSC) has aroused intense interest owing to its competitive price and stabilized properties than Si based solar cells. Recently, many studies have been reported on the DSSC, especially development of Pt-free counter electrode. In this paper, graphene is chosen counter electrode for low cost material and developed its properties. To estimate the properties of counter electrode, graphene and Pt thin films have been fabricated on FTO substrates respectively, than the films are tested AFM and J-V evaluation method. A graphene of 0.1 wt% has shown current density of 11.68 mA/cm2, maximum efficiency of 4.34% which is similar with that of Pt counter electrode. It confirmed that graphene could be good material for counter electrode if its synthesizing conditions were developed.

In this paper, paint-free metallic plastic material, polypropylene (PP) and acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA) materials were investigated on the applications for bumper skid plate and outside mirror housing parts. In order to maximize metallic effect, type, size and content of aluminum pigment were optimized based on flop index. Hybrid aluminum pigments with different aspect ratios were used to conceal weld lines. By controlling the fluidity of the material, the flow mark problem, generated on the surface of the part, was resolved. We also investigated the surface defects of flow and weld lines by using the developed modeling and simulation.
Octahedral $Co_3O_4$/carbon nanofiber (CNF) composites are fabricated using electrospinning and hydrothermal methods. Their morphological characteristics, chemical bonding states, and electrochemical properties are used to demonstrate the improved photovoltaic properties of the samples. Octahedral $Co_3O_4$ grown on CNFs is based on metallic Co nanoparticles acting as seeds in the CNFs, which seeds are directly related to the high performance of DSSCs. The octahedral $Co_3O_4$/CNFs composites exhibit high photocurrent density ($12.73mA/m^2$), superb fill factor (62.1 %), and excellent power conversion efficiency (5.61 %) compared to those characteristics of commercial $Co_3O_4$, conventional CNFs, and metallic Co-seed/CNFs. These results can be described as stemmnig from the synergistic effect of the porous and graphitized matrix formed by catalytic graphitization using the metal cobalt catalyst on CNFs, which leads to an increase in the catalytic activity for the reduction of triiodide ions. Therefore, octahedral $Co_3O_4$/CNFs composites can be used as a counter electrode for Pt-free dye-sensitized solar cells.
