부모 체별과 아동의 심리적 부적응 관계에서 부모 거부의 중재효과 (Moderating Effects of Parental Rejection on the Relationship between Corporal Punishment and Psychological Maladjustment of Children)

  • This study explored moderating effects of parental rejection on the relationship between corporal punishment and psychological maladjustment of 348 5th and 6th grade elementary school children. Participants responded in school to the Physical Punishment Questionnaire(Rohner, 1997), Parental Acceptance-Rejection Questionnaire(Rohner, 1991), and the Personality Assessment Questionnaire(Rohner, 1991). Results of regression analyses showed that both parental punishment and parental rejection made significant contributions to children's psychological maladjustment. Hierarchical regression analyses showed that parental punishment made significant contributions to maladjustment only when it was influenced by perceived maternal rejection. Conclusions were that apparent relations between parental punishment and children's psychological maladjustment were moderated by children's perceptions of maternal rejection.

부모요인이 학령기 아동의 심리·사회적 부적응에 미치는 영향에 대한 메타분석 (A meta-analysis of parental factors on psychological & social maladjustment of school-aged children)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to conduct a meta analysis of the previous studies on parental factors related to psychological and social maladjustment of school children and to examine the moderate effects of publication year using the meta-regression analysis. Method: Subjects of studies was academic journals and thesis published on 1996-Feb. 2016. Final result of selection was 353(122 journal articles, 231 master's thesis & dissertations) and total number of sampling was 126,776 school children. Results: Parental factors had medium effect sizes on psychological and social maladjustment of school children. Parental risk factors had bigger effect size than protective factors on children's maladjustment. There were a tendency that effect size of some parental factors were increased as publish year went by. Conclusions: Attachment, positive communication, and positive marital relationship were major protective factors which had reduced maladjustment of children. Psychological control and negative marital relationship were the strongest risk factors. The impact on parental factors on maladjustment of children were getting stronger recently.

  • This study examined the influences of parental acceptance-rejection, father involvement, and parental power-prestige in childhood on adult psychological maladjustment. Participants were 168 women. Stepwise regression results showed that father and mother's rejection in childhood were association with adult psychological maladjustment. However, both father involvement and parental power-prestige in childhood had no effects on adult psychological maladjustment.

정서표현양가성과 심리적 부적응, 주관적 안녕감의 관계에서 집단주의 문화성향의 조절효과 (The Moderating Effects of Collectivism in the Relationships between Ambivalence over Emotional Expressiveness, Psychological Maladjustment, and Subjective Well-being)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 한국인들의 정서표현양가성이 심리적 부적응과 주관적 안녕감에 영향을 미치는지와 이러한 관계에서 집단주의적 문화성향이 조절 효과를 보이는지를 탐색적으로 알아보는 것이다. 정서표현양가성의 문화차에 대해서 많은 연구들에서 가능성만을 제시할 뿐 실증적 연구는 없으므로 이에 대한 연구를 실시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 전국의 성인남녀 138명을 대상으로 정서표현양가성, 문화성향, 심리적 부적응증상, 주관적 안녕감을 측정하는 설문을 온라인 방식으로 실시했다. 조절 효과를 검증하기 위해 정서표현양가성, 집단주의 문화성향, 이들 간의 상호작용항을 투입하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 정서표현양가성은 심리적 부적응증상과 주관적 안녕감에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤으나, 집단주의 문화성향의 조절효과는 나타나지 않았다. 이러한 결과를 통해 정서표현양가성은 심리적 부적응증상을 증가시키고, 주관적 안녕감을 저하시키는 역할을 하지만, 이러한 관계에서 집단주의 문화성향은 영향을 미치지 않음을 알 수 있다. 결과에 대해 정서억제와 정서표현양가성이 집단주의 문화와의 관계에서 보이는 차이, 그리고 이들의 임상적 함의의 관점에서 논의하였다.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of family violence, peer\`s deviant behavior, school environment, and accessibility of violence through a mass media, mediated by school violence, on adolescents 'psychological & behavioral maladjustment. The present study was the primary research of developing program for adolescents'psychological & behavioral adaptation to school violence. On the basis of previous literature, the theoretical model was specified, estimated, and evaluated for adequacy of statistical fat. Subjects of this study consisted of 974 adolescents drawn from middle and high schools in Cheong-ju. The model was supported by the data. Family violence, peer's deviant behavior, school environment, and accessibility of violence through a mass media explained directly the variance of school violence and adolescents'psychological & behavioral maladjustment. The results shows that adolescents'psychological & behavioral maladjustment can be viewed as products of the interaction with environmental factors and school violence. Accessibility of violence through a mass media was strongly related to school violence. Also, school violence was the strongest risk factor in relation to adolescents'behavioral maladjustment while school environment to adolescents'psychological maladjustment. Therefore, prevention program for school violence should consider the psychological & behavioral components within the environmental context.

초기 청소년이 지각한 심리적 성장환경이 심리사회적 부적응에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of the Psychological Environment Perceived by Early Adolescents on their Psychosocial Maladjustment)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the influence of the psychological environment on the psychosocial maladjustment in early adolescence. This study also examined how the psychological environment influenced early adolescents in internalizing and externalizing their problems. Four hundred and eight students from three middle schools in Seoul participated in this study. The participants were divided into two groups by gender, and their psychological environment and psychosocial maladjustment were measured. The data were analyzed using ANOVA and multiple regression. The results of this study are as follows: Mutual intimacy and respect in the psychological environment affected internalizing and externalizing problems among male students; whereas communication affected internalizing and externalizing problems among female students. Based on this analysis, theoretical basics were presented for educational programs to prevent internalizing and externalizing problems.

부모의 스트레스와 다문화청소년의 심리적 부적응, 학업중단위험 간 종단적 인과관계: 자기회귀교차지연모형 적용 (A longitudinal study of the stress factors of parents between psychological maladjustment and the risk of school interruption in multicultural adolescents: The Application of Autoregressive Cross-lagged Model)

  • 본 연구에서는 한국청소년정책연구원의 다문화청소년패널 중학교 1학년부터 고등학교 2학년까지 추적한 다섯 시점의 종단자료를 활용하여 부모의 스트레스, 다문화청소년의 심리적 부적응, 학업중단위험이 시간의 흐름에 따른 변화 양상과 세 요인 간의 종단적 상호관련성을 검증하고자 자기회귀교차지연모형을 적용하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 5개 조사시점에 걸쳐 이전 시점의 부모의 스트레스는 이후 시점의 다문화 청소년의 심리적 부적응, 학업중단위험에 유의한 정(+)적인 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 5개 조사시점에 걸쳐 이전 시점의 다문화청소년의 심리적 부적응은 이후 시점의 학업중단위험에 유의한 정(+)적인 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 다문화 청소년 부모의 스트레스에 대처하기 위한 다양한 지원방안을 제시하고, 다문화 청소년의 심리적 부적응을 감소시켜 학업중단위험을 예방할 수 있는 정책적 대안을 제시하고자 하였다.

초등학생 학교부적응 증상의 일상생활 경험적 특성 (Daily Manifestations of School Maladjustment Among Elementary School Students)

  • This study investigated the differences in time use patterns and psychological states across daily activity contexts and interpersonal contexts, depending on the levels of school maladjustment among elementary school students. Using the Experience Sampling Method (ESM), 107 elementary school 6th grade students' daily time use patterns and psychological states across daily contexts were measured six times a day over a period of 4 days. Using the school maladjustment scale, an internal problem based school maladjusted group and an external problem based school maladjusted group were identified and selected. The daily time use patterns and psychological states of both school maladjusted groups were compared to those of the adjusted groups. The principle findings are as follows: first, the school maladjusted group students' daily time use patterns across daily activity contexts or interpersonal contexts did not differ from those of the students from the school adjusted group. Second, the school maladjusted group students experienced more negative emotions, lower concentration levels, and lower motivation levels across daily contexts than the school adjusted group students. These differences in motivation between the external problem school maladjusted group and adjusted group, however, were greater in the schoolwork context compared to the other daily activity contexts. The findings were discussed in the contexts of the daily experiences of child school maladjustment.

A Study on the Factors affecting on Codependency. -Focusing on Double ABCX Model-

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the factors influencing on Codependency of college students from Double ABCX model. This study examined the mediating relationship between boundary ambiguity, internal working model and psychological maladjustment, and then examined the moderating effects of Self-esteem, Social support and World view orientation. This study also examined the relationships of codependency with gender, enonomic level in college students. The results of the study are as follows. First, this study showed that codependency was related to economic level of college students. But it has not significant relationship with gender. Second, the moderating effects of Self-esteem, Social support and World view orientation was not significant. Third, mediating effects of Codependency on Boundary ambiguity, Internal working model and Psychological maladjustment were significant. This study suggested some theoretical and policy implications basing on this analytical results.

Relationship between Subtypes of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder Traits and Subscales of Symptom Checklist-90-R among College Students

  • In this paper, we propose that college counselors be more knowledgable of adult ADHD symptoms and develop better understandings of subtypes of the disorder. The findings in this study show that college students with different subtypes of ADHD symptoms experience different types of psychological maladjustment as well as different levels of psychological distress. Specifically, combined-type trait group show the highest levels of each of subscale of SCL-90-R among the other groups (i.e., normal, predominant inattentive subtype, hyperactive-impulsive type). Furthermore, combined typed trait group show significantly higher levels of animosity and paranoid ideation than the others. Therefore, college counselors need to provide effective interventions addressing intense emotion and cognitive distortion among college students with ADHD combined symptoms.
