A main objective of this study is to identitythe relationship between accountability, self-identity, self-efficacy and sense of belongingness and psychological ownership on personal information. We conduct an online-basedsurvey and establish a structural equation model for testing hypothesis. The results show that users' accountability, self-identity and sense of belongingness positively influence to psychological ownership on personal information. Additionally, users' perceived psychological ownership on personal information increase their concern for information privacy. This study suggests a new concept as 'perceived psychological ownership on personal information' to explain for intentions of their psychological possessions toward personal information. The findings of this study can provide a way for how firms have to require clients' personal information with increasing their satisfactions.

This study analyzes gender identity in contemporary fashion intensively based on gender images and costumes appearing in the film . In the society lacking a fixed gender image, this study provides a timely insight into gender identities by analyzing the fashions depicted in the movie. The movie is a true story of the first transgender person working hard to determine his or her own gender identity. As a research method, the theoretical basis of genderless approach was established via literature review. The characteristics of genderless identity were determined by dividing the movie into established and ambiguous gender periods to analyze the comprehensive changes in costumes for comparison. Einer Wagner representing male identity portrays men's fashion whereas Lily Elbe representing female identity depicts women's fashion. While the two different genders find their places in a single body, the confusion creates genderless fashion. By dividing these phases into femininity, masculinity and genderless categories, each costume was analyzed comprehensively, and the images of relatively changing fashion were studied by altering the gender identity. Four characteristics including androgyne, rebellion, pleasure and balance were derived from the gender identity based on Fashion in .

  • The current research aims to explore which type of identity-based message can be more persuasive for Chinese consumers to form positive restaurant brand attitude based on their cultural orientation, and to examine the roles of brand objective relevance and psychological power state in the persuasive process. The study employs a 2(identity expression focus: warmth vs. competence) × 2(message description manner: identity-defining vs. identity-referencing) × 2(experienced power state: high vs. low) between-subjects design, and conducts an online survey where 240 Chinese participants in total has responded to the questionnaires. SPSS and AMOS programs have been used to examine the hypotheses. The findings suggest that, first, the warmth-focused messages (identity-defining messages) more positively affected Chinese consumers' object relevance than the competence-focused messages (identity-referencing messages); Second, high power-experienced Chinese consumers rather than low power consumers tend to perceive more object relevance at the warmth self-defining messages; Third, brand object relevance revealed a mediation effect in the process of the warmth-focused messages (identity-defining messages) affecting brand attitude. This research offers new insight into the relationships between consumers' cultural orientation, understandings of power, and identity-based consumer behavior, suggesting marketers should take those social influences and consumer diversities into account when developing the message to persuade consumers.

  • This study investigated if and how work-family conflict and sex-role identity influence married female teachers' job involvement. The results of this study follow. First, married female teachers in the high work-family conflict group showed lower job involvement than that of those in the low work-family conflict group. The mean difference of job involvement between the high and low work-family conflict groups was not statistically significant. Second, the married female teachers with an Androgynous sex-role identity showed higher job involvement than those with a Feminine sex-role identity. Finally, the job involvement of Androgynous married female teachers was damaged less under high work-family conflict situations than that of Feminine married female teachers. These results imply that to increase married female teachers' job involvement, the improvement of physical/environmental conditions and psychological changes for women are necessary.

  • In this paper, we construct an automatic evaluation system of psychological feeling for corporate identity (CI) symbol mark based on a fuzzy neural network technique. The system is modelled by trainable fuzzy inference rules with several input variables (qualitative and quantitative design components of CI symbol mark) and a single output variable (consumer's feeling). The back propagation learning algorithm, which is a conventional learning method of multilayer feedforward neural networks, is used for parameter identification of the fuzzy inference system. The learning ability to train data and the generalization ability to test data are evaluated for the proposed evaluation system by computer simulations.

  • The purpose of the study was to examine the socio-psychological factors of outdoor spaces in apartment complex. The data for the empirical analysis were collected from 412 households living in Haeundae New Town, Busan, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and one-way analysis of variance and Duncan's multiple range test. The socio-psychological factors abstracted were territoriality, privacy, safety, sociality, accessibility, and identity. It was found that the households were generally positive to the overall socio-psycological factors in the current apartment complex. The significant explanatory variables for the responses to the socio-psychological factors were age of the wife, education of the wife, occupation of the wife, tenure type, monthly household income, length of residence, and overall satisfaction with outdoor spaces.

  • The present study aimed to examine the mediation effect of identity development between perceived parental academic achievement pressure (PPAAP) and mental health. Specifically, we examined whether the relation between PPAAP and mental health is mediated by the positive or negative aspects of identity development. Participants were 110 Korean college students. They completed online self-report questionnaires that included PPAAP, identity development, personal well-being, and depression. We found that PPAAP was negatively related to personal well-being and positively related to depression. Moreover, the relation between PPAAP and mental health was mediated only by the negative aspects of identity development. In other words, PPAAP was related to the negative aspects of identity development, which, in turn, was negatively associated with mental health. This study contributes to the literature in that it proposed identity development as a mediator between PPAAP and mental health and found that the negative, not positive, aspects of identity development mediated the relation. We suggest that institutional interventions that help develop identity can be an effective way to mitigate the negative impacts of PPAAP on mental health of children living in the highly competitive Korean society. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.
