  • This paper presents a theoretical study for making intelligent robots with human-like mind. For the development of a cognitive mental model, we developed three algorithms based on the cognitive process for human psychoanalysis. Specifically, the concept of id, ego and superego from the theory of Sigmund Freud was adopted and the procedural algorithms were presented.

정신분석학을 이용한 루이스 칸과 렘 쿨하스의 건축 내부공간 구성 비교연구 (A Comparative Study on the Inner Space Composition of a Building between Louis I. Kahn and Rem Koolhaas through Psychoanalysis)

  • The purposes of this study were to compare Louis I. Kahn and Rem Koolhaas, both of whom established their architectural theories and granted rationality to them by applying the theory of psychoanalysis, and examine common and different characteristics in the inner space composition of a building between them. The study also set out to confirm a basic premise based on which to develop a metaphysical design concept by applying the theory of psychoanalysis in the inner space composition of contemporary architecture in future from the more developed and integrated perspective of modern psychoanalysis. As a result, Kahn sought after a metaphysical design concept through the combinations of inner unit spaces including servant and served space, which are comparable to the confrontation between consciousness and unconsciousness from the perspective of psychoanalysis. Unlike him, Koolhaas applied the concept of folding to his architectural plans based on the theory of post-structuralism and created a metaphysical design concept by more focusing on connections between unit spaces rather than their combinations. While Kahn worked on his designs with much interest in the combinations of inner unit spaces in horizontal circulation by separating it from vertical circulation, Koolhaas created a new design concept beyond the limitations of Kahn, who had a confronting, dichotomous view of the world between the phenomenal world and the metaphysical world, by making use of inclined slabs to connect upper slabs with lower ones. The findings show that there can be various metaphysical design concepts depending on how to connect and combine two confronting concepts when applying the theory of psychoanalysis to architectural design.

  • 본 논문은 정신분석이 말하는 욕망이론의 입장에서 대순사상 종지의 하나인 해원상생의 실천적 의미를 이해하면서 두 사상의 공통성과 상보성을 찾으려는 시도이다. 대순사상과 정신분석 이론은 둘 다 욕망에 중요성을 부여한다는 공통점이 있다. 대순사상의 해원이념은 애도를 통해 욕망을 복원하고 상호 주체성 구조 속에서 그것을 실현할 것을 강조하는 정신분석 이론과 통한다. 물론 종교이론인 대순사상이 말하는 욕망의 의미는 다의적이고, 욕망의 지향점도 치료 담론인 정신분석과 다르다. 하지만 대순사상은 인간이 경험하는 고통과 불행이 욕망을 제대로 풀지 못하는 상극 때문에 발생한다고 설명한다. 서로 억제하고 누르면서 고통을 만들고 있는 상태가 바로 상극이며, 해원을 통해 상극을 벗어나 상생의 세상 후천에 도달한다. 마찬가지로 정신분석은 애도를 통해 대상의 상실을 수용하면서 욕망이 다시 작동한다고 본다. 상생과 천지공사 같은 사회, 우주적 시스템의 중요성을 강조하는 대순사상은 상호주체성의 구조에서 욕망을 긍정적으로 바라보는 정신분석과 통하는 점이 있다. 대순사상과 정신분석의 사회적 실천 방향은 둘 다 보편성의 실현을 목표로 삼는다. 상호주체성 구조는 욕망의 인정과 인정의 욕망을 실천의 방향으로 제시한다. 욕망이란 개인적인 것이 아니라 사회적인 것이기 때문이다. 결론적으로 개인의 욕망을 충족시키는 데 머물 것이 아니라 공동의 선을 향해 함께 나아가야 한다.

  • Freud's' discovery of the unconscious' is a great revolution. Because of this, human beings were able to get the opportunity to look into their inner than honest. Lu Xun and Guo Mo Ruo a pair of realism and romanticism literature representative of Chinese modern literature writers. They then absorb the psychoanalytic theory o Freud along with other Western zeitgeist, introduce them widely inliterary theory and creative practice, which was again. Lu Xun was reflected in the human world of the unconscious Freud uncovered on the basis of strict realism literary spirit, Guo Mo Ruo is in accordance with the romantic literary time for the purpose of 'art for art' depicting a man's inner psychological well did. Although Freud spirit they claim to social and literary artistry of literature based on different yarns in the Acceptance of analytical theory, has the characteristics of a common sentiment analysis method to express and describe the unconscious human potential. 5.4 When Lu Xun and Guo Mo Ruo China Journalism writers, including Freud's psychoanalytic theory has embraced the Enlightenment and the old feudal society was a major contribution to want to read exactly what the human inner hearing.   • Objectives : In order to make a new psychotherapeutic model in the theory of oriental medicine by means of psychoanalysis method. Methods : The research was done by comparing the contents of the Tong-Ui Po-Kam, techniques of Yang Saeng(養生術), with the psychoanalysis Results : 1. There's no difference in the mind state which a doctor has to have between the oriental doctor and the occidental doctor. You should make effort not to project yourself on a patient. A conception of 'doctor' in oriental medicine is one who trains one's mind rather than just healer. 2. Heart(心) in oriental medical conception is revealed by circulation structure of Jeong(精), Gi(氣), and Sin(神). A healthy mind comes from harmony and smooth transport of Jeong(精), Gi(氣), and Sin(神). 3. The conception similar to unconsciousness doesn't exist in oriental medicine, but the contents about the attitudes or the methods of training one’s mind correspond to unconsciousness. 4. The psychotherapy of oriental medicine emphasized mutual dynamics between emotions at present, and presented a way of treatment by describing emotions from standpoint of 'Gi(氣)'. 5. The special feature of psychological treatment in oriental medicine is that treatment is done by understanding emotions of present time as Gi (氣), and using dynamics of Gi (氣)(; 相生相剋). Also the balanced state can be kept even after treatment and prevention can be done by observing one's own unconsciousness(; training one's mind helps circulation of Jeong(精), Gi(氣), and Sin(神)) I think that we need a new realistic therapy model to develop these psychotherapy methods in oriental neuropsychiatry, through studying emotions in the theory of oriental medicine, especially Korean's emotions and spiritual training.

Understanding of Holding Environment Through the Trajectory of Donald Woods Winnicott

  • Personal life and achievements are the process and result of a person's past, present, and future interacting with each other. In this regard, if one fully understands the life and background of the person who developed the theory of psychoanalysis, one can understand and use the theory more appropriately. The holding environment theory developed by Donald Woods Winnicott is useful for understanding the process by which infants grow healthy under the care of a mother who is good enough. In this paper, the background of the birth of the holding environment theory is reviewed based on Winnicott's developmental background and marital life. He grew up with a holding environment from good enough 'multiple mothers'. Born with excellent athletic ability and musical talent, he was more curious than anyone else and particularly active in discovering new things. After the unhappy first marriage, Claire Britton's second marriage was happy academically and personally. Claire was a fellow paediatric psychoanalyst who published Winnicott's research and theories after his death. Psychoanalysis or psychotherapy itself can be a holding environment, and the holding environment theory can be applied to various fields in the digital era.

  • This study set out to compare and analyze the influences Kabbalah, which was Louis I. Kahn's faith as a Jew, on his architecture based on Freud's psychoanalysis that had many exchanges with modernism and contemporary architecture and theories. The specific goals of the study were to shed light to Kahn's presence in contemporary architecture anew and establish the methodology of using psychoanalysis in building new theories of architectural planning. When the theories of psychoanalysis were introduced for comparison and analysis purposes, Kahn tried to differentiate his buildings by placing a function or symbolic central space at the heart of a building even though he did adopt a characteristic of modernism architecture, which was placing a core at the centre of plan, for a while. Such a tendency of his was based on Jung's opinions rather than Freud's and affected by Ecole des Beaux-Art. The analysis results also indicate that he conceived "Served Space & Servant Space," "architecture of connection" and "silence and light" that made up the essence of his architectural theory from the relationships between Ayin-Sof, Kabbalah's absolute god, and Sefiroth. It's also very likely that his often use of triangles and circles in his architecture was affected by the Tree of Sefiroth diagram of Kabbalah. His tendency is well reflected in Salk Institute and Philips Exeter Academy Library, where he placed a laboratory or courtyard at the center where a core was supposed to be, created a corridor or courtyard space between those central spaces and the core, and connected them one another with to perceive the being of Ayin-Sof into an architectural space, which is well proven with Mikveh Israel Synagogue where he directly applied the Tree of Sefiroth diagram. The synagogue also contained a hollow column that served as an important concept in his late architecture. The hollow column was also the result of him applying the concept of Sefiroth of the place where Ayin-Sof Was reduced in Kabbalah.

자끄 라깡의 정신분석 이론으로 본 만화 '몬스터' 분석 - 욕망이론을 중심으로 - (Analysis of comic 'Monster' based on J. Lacan's psychoanalytic theory - Focused on desire theory -)

  • 본 연구는 자크 라깡(J. Lacan)의 정신분석 이론을 토대로 만화 "몬스터"를 분석하였다. 자크 라깡(J. Lacan)은 프로이드(S. Freud)의 정신 분석학 및 사회 문화학을 통해 새로운 정신분석 이론을 주장하였다. 그의 이론적 배경의 주된 이론은 '욕망이론'으로 인간의 욕망을 분석한 이론이다. 그는 인간의 욕망을 욕구와 요구로 구분하였으며, '인간의 욕망은 곧 타자의 욕망'이라는 기본적인 명제를 가진다. 자크 라깡(J. Lacan)은 주체 및 타자의 관계에 대해 깊이 연구를 하였는데, 그는 이것을 상상계(거울단계)와 상징계(오이디푸스 콤플렉스), 그리고 실재계(욕망하는 주체)로 구분하여 정의하였다. 이러한 이론을 토대로 본 연구의 주된 목적은 자크라깡(J. Lacan)이 주장한 욕망이론을 중심으로 우라사와 나오키의 만화인 "몬스터"를 분석하는 것이다. 즉, 정신분석학을 기본으로 한 욕망이론을 통해 만화 작품을 분석하여 어떤 새로운 의미를 추출할 수 있는지 알고자 하였다. 만화 "몬스터"를 분석하기 위한 틀로 질적 연구의 분석 방법을 차용해왔으며, 그 분석 방법은 '지오르지(Giorgi, 1985)가 고안한 기술현상학적 분석' 이다. 이 분석 방법을 통해 "몬스터"의 배경 및 등장인물, 상징을 중심으로 분석하였으며, 지오르지(Giorgi, 1985)의 이론과 자크 라깡(J. Lacan)의 욕망이론을 바탕으로 내용 분석을 실시하였다. 내용분석을 통해 욕망이론과 연관된 의미단위 및 구성요소를 구분한 결과, 첫째, 동일시, 둘째, 욕망의 재현, 셋째, 소외, 넷째, 고유한 욕망과 자유, 네 가지 구성요소로 나누어 볼 수 있었다. 위 연구의 결과를 통해 다음과 같이 정리할 수 있다. 첫째, 정신분석학을 토대로 자크 라깡(J. Lacan)의 욕망이론으로 본 만화 "몬스터"는 등장인물인 쌍둥이의 동일시, 욕망의 재현, 등장인물들의 소외감, 등장인물이 가지는 고유한 욕망과 자유 네 가지의 구성요소로 분류할 수 있었다. 둘째, 자크 라깡(J. Lacan)의 욕망이론 통해 분석한 등장인물들은 어렸을 때의 외상 경험으로 인해 쌍둥이가 서로를 동일시 및 투사를 통해 자신의 욕망을 재현하려고 하였다. 또한 재현의 과정에서 소외감을 느끼던 등장인물들이 자신의 빈 공간을 메꾸기 위하여 인간이 가진 고유한 욕망과 자유를 완성하고자 비극적인 결말을 맺는 것으로 분석하였다. 이 결과는 정신분석학을 토대로 하는 자크 라깡(J. Lacan) 욕망이론이 만화분석이라는 새로운 분석이론으로 사용될 수 있으며, 이를 통해 새로운 의미를 도출할 수 있다는 결론을 내었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 통해 심리학 이론을 이용한 만화 분석이라는 새로운 연구 분야가 생성되어 이 분야의 많은 연구가 이루어질 필요가 있다.

"In the Beginning was the Deed": Sigmund Freud's Auditory Imagination

  • Such is an elective affinity between literary studies and psychoanalysis that the latter sometime serves as a form of literary pedagogy. The affinity mainly consists in their shared concern for language. The signification of language in psychoanalysis is much similar to that of literature. Many of psychoanalytic terms and theoretical tenets bear witness to its dependence clinically on speech phenomena and theoretically on language in general. It is most true of Sigmund Freud, for whom the unconscious is in effect the linguistic unconscious. The Freudian unconscious, compressing and displacing through images and ideas, works as a text for psychoanalysis, which approach has not only paved one of the ways to poststructuralist anti-essentialism but with which literary studies also feel uncanny familiarity. Freudian psychoanalysis, starting empirically from clinical observations, discovers that words exist independent of meanings in the form of things in the unconscious system. Out of the various sensory elements of a word-thing, in psychoanalytic terms, the auditory is central. Now with the auditory imagination cultivated in the clinic, Freud figures out compression and displacement as the chief unconscious works, of which my main argument is that they are based phonetically on heteronym and homonym associations respectively. Compression and displacement work to be masks, which excites Freud's sense of challenge: his is a kind of poststructuralist approach, in the sense that the closed interrelatedness of words without external referents determines the signification in a given situation. But the works of compression and displacement, viewed in auditory terms rather than mapped on to metaphor and metonymy, can provide a new insight for a literary reading of Freud. Pursuing Freud's auditory imagination is not only an attempt to read his writing as literary text rather than for theoretical discussion, but also an experiment with the possibility of literary reading of a theoretical text in the age of after-theory.
