The first pruning works of planted trees on forest area carry out when tree height reached at 6 meters. And the second works carry out when it grow to 12~13 meters of tree height. Pruning works are necessary for producing straight log without knar by tool or machine. Generally, the mechanized pruning works Self-propelled pruning machine, chain pruning saw and other tools are used in mechanized pruning works. However, manual pruning saw which is usually using pruning tool was for this study. To investigate the pruning works efficiency, Pinus densiflora, Pinus koraiensis and Pinus rigida which were distributed in Kangwon-Do was surveyed. Height of surveyed the trees were 10~16 meters and its pruning works range were 6.2~6.7 meters of tree height. As results, pruning works efficiency of Pinus densiflora, Pinus koraiensis and Pinus rigida were 3.14 min/tree, 5.06 min/tree and 4.44 min/tree, respectively. Also, possible pruning works of man-day for Pinus densiflora, Pinus koraiensis and Pinus rigida was 104, 64, and 81 trees, respectively.
Most of previous works for skyline queries have focused only on static attributes of target objects. With the advance in mobile applications, however, the need of continuous skyline queries for moving objects has been increasing. Even though several techniques to process continuous skyline queries have been proposed recently, they cannot process subspace queries, which use only the subset of attribute dimensions. Therefore it is not feasible to utilize those methods for mobile applications which must consider moving objects and subspaces simultaneously. In this paper, we propose a dominant object-based pruning method to compute subspace skyline of moving objects efficiently at query time and present the experimental results to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
Most of works for skyline queries have focused on static data objects. With the advance in mobile applications, however, the need of continuous skyline queries for moving objects has been increasing. To process continuous skyline queries, the 4-phased decision method of skyline regions has been proposed recently. However, it is not feasible for a large number of data because of the high cost of computing skyline regions. To solve this problem, this paper first provides a theoretical analysis of the 4-phased decision method. Then we propose a progressive decision method of skyline regions for the 4-phased decision method, which consists of a distance-based pruning and an extent shrinking of region decision lines. The proposed method can efficiently reduce the cost of the decision of skyline region in the 4-phased decision method. This paper also presents the experimental results to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
In this paper, we explain a volume rendering system for client-server environment. A single GPU-equipped PC works as a server which is based on the ideas that only a few concurrent users use a volume rendering system in a small hospital. As the clients, we used Android mobile devices such as smart phones. User events are transformed to rendering requests by the client application. When the server receives a rendering request, it renders the volume using the GPU. The rendered image is compressed to JPEG or PNG format so that we can save network bandwidth and reduce transfer time. In addition, we perform an event pruning method while a user is dragging the touch to enhance latency. The server compensates the pruning by interpolating the touch positions. As the result, real-time volume rendering is possible for 5 concurrent users on single GPU-equipped commodity hardware.

The purpose of this study is to present the basic materials of a developmental counterplan by assessing prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms and characteristics of work-related ergonomic risk factors. The prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms of 64 vineyard workers was investigated by using a self-reported questionnaire. And the vineyard workers' tasks were also collected and analyzed during 9-month period by observing and videotaping methods to identify the ergonomic risk factors. The prevalence rate of musculoskeletal symptoms of female(84.4%) was much higher than that of male(62.5%) and a total prevalence rate was 73.4%. There was no different prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms between age over 60 years and under 60 years. The prevalence rates of musculoskeletal complaints for each body part were 48.4%, 42.2%, and 35.9% for the wrist, legs/knee, and shoulder, respectively. In postural risk analysis, 7 works(REBA score) represented the high risk tasks such as delivering harvest boxed(12), picking cluster(11) and so on. The main works(exposure score) were orderly ranked as picking cluster(1590), pruning branch(388), and cluster thinning(327). The risk factors of vineyard work were identified as follows: shoulder flexion(${\geq}45^{\circ}$), wrist Flex./Ext.(${\geq}15^{\circ}$), hand force(power/pinch-grip), and prolonged standing(${\geq}4hr$). The engineering solutions including an improvement of hand tools, working process, and working environment should be applied to the high risky tasks in order to resolve the ergonomic problems. The administrative solutions such as improving a distribution of resting time, an exercise cure, an early recognition of symptoms and rehabilitation might be another solution for reducing musculoskeletal symptoms in vineyard workers.

Lightweight face recognition models, as one of the most popular and long-standing topics in the field of computer vision, has achieved vigorous development and has been widely used in many real-world applications due to fewer number of parameters, lower floating-point operations, and smaller model size. However, few surveys reviewed lightweight models and reimplemented these lightweight models by using the same calculating resource and training dataset. In this survey article, we present a comprehensive review about the recent research advances on the end-to-end efficient lightweight face recognition models and reimplement several of the most popular models. To start with, we introduce the overview of face recognition with lightweight models. Then, based on the construction of models, we categorize the lightweight models into: (1) artificially designing lightweight FR models, (2) pruned models to face recognition, (3) efficient automatic neural network architecture design based on neural architecture searching, (4) Knowledge distillation and (5) low-rank decomposition. As an example, we also introduce the SqueezeFaceNet and EfficientFaceNet by pruning SqueezeNet and EfficientNet. Additionally, we reimplement and present a detailed performance comparison of different lightweight models on the nine different test benchmarks. At last, the challenges and future works are provided. There are three main contributions in our survey: firstly, the categorized lightweight models can be conveniently identified so that we can explore new lightweight models for face recognition; secondly, the comprehensive performance comparisons are carried out so that ones can choose models when a state-of-the-art end-to-end face recognition system is deployed on mobile devices; thirdly, the challenges and future trends are stated to inspire our future works.

Data mining is a method that extract useful knowledges from huge size of data. Recently, a focussing research part of data mining is to find interesting patterns in graph databases. More efficient methods have been proposed in graph mining. However, graph analysis methods are in NP-hard problem. Graph pattern mining based on pattern growth method is to find complete set of patterns satisfying certain property through extending graph pattern edge by edge with avoiding generation of duplicated patterns. This paper suggests an efficient approach of reducing computing time of pattern growth method through pattern growth's property that similar patterns cause similar tasks. we suggest pruning methods which reduce search space. Based on extensive performance study, we discuss the results and the future works.
Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) is to store and retrieve images using the feature description of image contents. In order to support more accurate image retrieval, it has become necessary to develop features that can effectively describe image contents. The commonly used low-level features, such as color, texture, and shape features may not be directly mapped to human visual perception. In addition, such features cannot effectively describe a single image that contains multiple objects of interest. As a result, the research on feature descriptions has shifted to focus on higher-level features, which support representations more similar to human visual perception like spatial relationships between objects. Nevertheless, the prior works on the representation of spatial relations still have shortcomings, particularly with respect to supporting rotational invariance, Rotational invariance is a key requirement for a feature description to provide robust and accurate retrieval of images. This paper proposes a high-level feature named 8AB (8 Angular Bin) that effectively describes the spatial relations of objects in an image while providing rotational invariance. With this representation, a similarity calculation and a retrieval technique are also proposed. In addition, this paper proposes a search-space pruning technique, which supports efficient image retrieval using the 8AB feature. The 8AB feature is incorporated into a CBIR system, and the experiments over both real and synthetic image sets show the effectiveness of 8AB as a high-level feature and the efficiency of the pruning technique.
This paper describes the development and evaluation of a Korean address input system employing automatic speech recognition technique as user interface for input Korean address. Address consists of cities, provinces and counties. The system works on a window 95 environment of personal computer with built-in soundcard. In the speech recognition part, the Continuous density Hidden Markov Model(CHMM) for making phoneme like units(PLUs) and One Pass Dynamic Programming(OPDP) algorithm is used for recognition. For address recognition, Finite State Automata(FSA) suitable for Korean address structure is constructed. To achieve an acceptable performance against the variation of speakers, microphones, and environmental noises, Maximum a posteriori(MAP) estimation is implemented in adaptation. And to improve the recognition speed, fast search method using variable pruning threshold is newly proposed. In the evaluation tests conducted for the 100 connected words uttered by 3 males the system showed above average 96.0% of recognition accuracy for connected words after adaption and recognition speed within 2 seconds, showing the effectiveness of the system.

This research was carried out to keep a sharp look-out on changes of estimated unit power and material in landscape architectural construction in Korea from 1962 to 2007 and to suggest basic information for its desirable direction in the near future. The research results are as follows. At first, work classification of estimated unit power and material landscape architectural construction was included under the earth work and in 1974 it had the name which was called landscape architectural process with earth works, and in 1984 the estimated unit power and material of landscape architectural construction was separated from the earth work but it was still under name of estimated unit manpower and material of the engineering construction. In 1972 the estimated unit power and material began with a 'planting' and a 'pruning' and still consists of 7 work classification total: 'sodding and herbaceous sowing', 'digging out', 'planting', 'digging round the root', 'keeping and management', 'rubble masonry' and 'planting for protection of rocks split section'. The processes consist of 29 sub-processes in total. The lawn construction was mainly established in the 1960s, the planting construction in the 1970s, the keeping and management in the 1980s, split section protection in the 1990s along with new technology with keeping management in the 2000s. On the basis of these research results, the process to be added in the near future could be related to new material and new technology and the process might be much more subdivided.
