The vertical axis through the modal center of rigidity (m-CR) is used for interpreting the code torsional provisions in the design of eccentric multi-story building structures. The concept of m-CR has been demonstrated by the author in an earlier paper and the particular feature of this point is that when the vertical line of the centers of mass at the floor levels is passing through m-CR, minimum base torsion is developed. For this reason the aforesaid axis is used as reference axis for implementing the code provisions required by the equivalent static analysis. The study examines uniform mixed-bent-type multistory buildings with simple eccentricity, ranging from torsionally stiff to torsionally flexible systems. Using the results of a dynamic response spectrum analysis as a basis for comparisons, it is shown that the results of the code static design are on the safe side in torsionally stiff buildings, but unable to predict the required strength of bents on the stiff side of systems with a predominantly torsional response. Suggestions are made for improving the code provisions in such cases.

Objective : The purpose of this paper is to report the improvement of a patient who had a postpartum disease treated with herb medication based on Shanghanlun provisions. Methods : According to 'Disease Pattern Identification Diagnostic System based on Shanghanlun Provisions', the patient was diagnosed with TaeYang-byung, number 12 provision, and was administered herb medication for 4 months. Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) was used to estimate the patient's status. Results : The VAS changed 10 to 0. These results suggest that cold pain and weakness in the legs have improved. Conclusions : The patient had an experience of miscarriage 3 times and finally got a baby but with postpartum disease. She treated with the herb medication for 4 months and the outcome was found effective and economical due to the diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions.

Objective : Patients complaining of dizziness and olfactory hallucination who were diagnosed and treated with the Shanghanlun disease pattern identification diagnostic system were analyzed to report cases. Methods : This is a case report on a patient who has been suffering from Dizziness andolfactory hallucination. According to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions, Gyeji-tang was provided. The severity of Dizziness was evaluated by NRS. Results : When analyzing the patient's history and symptoms, it can be found in article No. 42 in Shanghanlun. In the first case, NRS changed from 8 to 2. In the second case, NRS change 8 to 1. Conclusions : Gyeji-tang can be effective in dizziness and olfactory hallucination with the Shanghanlun disease pattern identification diagnostic system.

Objective : This case report presents the effect of Galgunhwangryunhwanggum-tang and Galgunhwangryunhwanggum-tang gagambang on hypertension. The patient was diagnosed with Taeyang-byung based on Shanghanlun provisions. Methods : According to Shanghanlun seven meridian patterns diagnostic system, we diagnosed the patient as Taeyang-byung and he has been suffering from hypertension. The patient was treated with Galgunhwangryunhwanggum-tang & Galgunhwangryunhwanggum-tang gagambang and it was provided for 40days Results : After the treatment, the degree of hypertension reduced from BP 138-90 to 130-80 Conclusions : This case study show an effectiveness of using Galgunhwangryunhwanggumtang and Galgunhwangryunhwanggum-tang gagambang according to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions on hypertension.

Objective : This case report presents the effect of Daecheongryong-tang on Impulse Control Disorder. The patient was diagnosed with Taeyang-byung based on Shanghanlun provisions. Methods : According to Shanghanlun six meridian patterns diagnostic system, we diagnosed the patient as Taeyang-byung and she has been suffering from impulse control disorder. The patient was treated with Daecheongryong-tang. And it was provided for 60 days.The changing symptom was estimated by Global Assessment of Functioning and Visual Analogue Scale. Results : After the treatment, the patient's functioning got better from 65 to 85 on GAF. And the degree of pain was reduced from 10 to 2 on VAS. Conclusions :This case study shows an effectiveness of using Daecheongryong-tang according to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions on Impulse Control Disorder.

Objective: This case report presents the effect of Oryeong-san on vasovagal syncope. The patient was diagnosed with Grater Yang disease based on Shanghanlun provisions. Methods: According to the disease pattern identification diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions (DPIDS), we diagnosed the patient as presenting Greater Yang disease. The patient was treated with Oryeong-san for 45 days. The change in symptoms was estimated based on VAS. Results: After treatment, the patient's VAS score from 10 to 0 and he was completely cured. Conclusions: This case study shows the effectiveness of using Oryeong-san on vasovagal syncope according to DPIDS.

Objective: The purpose of this paper is to report the improvement in a patient with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) treated with herbal medication based on the Shanghanlun disease pattern identification diagnostic system. Methods: According to the 'Disease Pattern Identification Diagnostic System based on Shanghanlun Provisions,'the patient was diagnosed with Guorem-byung number 350 provision, and took Baekho-tang herbal medication for 15 days. The result of administration was evaluated using the Dizziness Handicap Inventory (DHI) and the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). Results: After administration of Baekho-tang for 15 days, based on the 350 provision of Baekho-tang diagnosed according to the Shanghanlun provisions, the DHI score decreased from 74 to 16 and the VAS score decreased from 10 to 1. Conclusions: The patient recovered from symptoms of BPPV. This case report suggests that the words '滑,''厥,''裏'on the 350 provision of Shanghanlun mean physical and psychological causes of BPPV in this case.

Objective : The objective of this study was to explore the meaning of "man (滿)" in Shanghanlun through the analysis of four cases. Methods : We analyzed four cases treated with modified Soshiho-tang, which is administered when 滿 aggravates chief complaints. All cases were diagnosed by the disease pattern identification diagnostic system based on the Shanghanlun provisions. Results : All 4 patients' chief complaints were improved after administration of modified Soshiho-tang. Swelling symptoms were reduced in all 4 cases. Through the etymological research and clinical treatment results, the clinical meaning of 滿 was deduced as "swelling." Conclusions : The etymological and clinical analysis suggest that the concept of "滿" may be defined as "swelling" in the Shanghanlun provisions.

FSMA 24 규정을 고찰한 결과, 금융기관의 도산과 관련된 규정은 임의정리, 관리명령, 재산관리인, 임의청산, 법정청산, 파산, 채무부인의 금지 규정, 보험업자에 관한 보칙 등으로 구성되며, 각 절차에 따른 FSA의 권한과 책임이 명시되어 있다. 절차마다 약간의 차이는 있으나 전체적으로 FSA는 채권자와 동일한 지위에서 각 도산절차에 관한 법원 청구권, 각종 집회참석권, 청취권 등을 행사할 수 있다. 영국과 우리나라의 금융기관 도산과 관련된 규정의 차이점 및 시사점을 요약하면, 첫째, 영국은 FSA의 금융기관 도산 절차와 관련된 권한의 행사 주체가 FSA(Financial Services Authority)로 통일되어 있으나, 우리나라의 경우, 각 특별법에 따라 금융기관 정리 방법이 여러 기관으로 분산되어 있어서 관련절차의 행사 주체가 금융위원회, 금융감독원, 예금보험공사 등으로 혼재되어 나타난다. 이는 외환위기 이후 금융개혁의 조속한 시행을 위해 금융기관 정리와 관련된 입법활동을 서둘러 시행하면서 나타난 특징으로 볼 수 있다. 둘째, FSA는 금융기관 도산과 관련된 보험업종의 특성을 고려하여 계약유지에 관한 특별규정이 포함되었으나 우리나라는 규정상 업종별 차이 또는 금융 계약의 특징 등을 고려하지 않고 있어 향후 이에 대한 보완이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

The seismic design provisions of the 2005 KBC has been based on the 2000 IBC and has considered the building code situations in Korea. There are site ground motion, soil class, seismic design category in the significant changes of the 2005 KBC. In the case of soft soil condition, the response spectrum acceleration of the 2005 KBC is larger than that of previous code. To reduce the seismic force of the 2005 KBC, it need to introduce the eqrthauke force resisting system with high ductility.
