This paper presents a shoreline change analysis on a reclaimed land, using a pair of aerial photographs taken before and after the reclamation. Shorelines that are defined by a tide datum, i.e. Approximately Highest High Water Level, were mapped by both analytical and digital photogrammetric methods. The past shorelines were overlapped with digital cadastral map from which areas of retracted and protruded lands were computed. Magnitude of shoreline changes was estimated by calculating areas between the past and present shorelines. Comparisons in terms of areas showed a fairly good agreement between the two methods. However, particularly in the estuary of complex morphology, shoreline mapping by digital photogrammetric method requires images to be scanned at a resolution higher than 1200 dpi.

The purpose of this study is to examine the materials on Bangdapjin, summarize the excavation surveys and compare them with the past literature records and to determine the location of the Bangdapjin government office facilities. It was categorized into the castle in the original cadastral map, which allowed to identify the overall shape of Jionseong Castle. The Chi on the castle wall and Ongseong on the Munji have also been identified. The majority of state-owned land in the original cadastral map is usually concentrated at the point where the road from the north intersects with the road from the east to the castle, which is presumably where public buildings were located. One of the photos in the 1950s shows the presence of a building presumed to be an inn featuring, extraordinary shape that deserves special attention. The gate is believed to have had Ongseong due to evidence of a portion protruded at right angles from the castle according to the original cadastral map.

In this study, thermal transmittance which is a parameter to measure the thermal performance was evaluated for an internal insulation versus an external insulation. Then the ISO regulation was applied to evaluate it, and the superiority of an external insulation was verified by the thermal transmittance values. The three zones of apartment housing were selected to evaluate the performance. (1) The junction of an outer wall and a protruded slab : If there is no a thermal bridge protection system, then the values are about same in the two insulation systems, so the protection system should certainly be installed. If it is installed, then the value for the external insulation is 2 times lower than internal system. (2) The junction of a side wall and a flat slab: The value is 0.509W/mK for the internal insulation and about zero for the external insulation. (3) The junction of an outer wall and a division wall: The value is 0.451W/mK for the internal insulation and also about zero for the external insulation. A domestic regulation that could evaluate a thermal transmittance has to be established by applying the ISO regulation for the evaluation of external insulation systems in apartment housing in the future. Additionally, the government must decide which length should be used for the national standard.
