Multipath Transport Control Protocol (MPTCP) is a transport layer protocol that enables multiple TCP connections across various paths. Due to path heterogeneity, it incurs more energy in a multipath wireless network. Recent work presents a set of approaches described in the literature to support systems for energy consumption in terms of their performance, objectives and address issues based on their design goals. The existing solutions mainly focused on the primary system model but did not discourse the overall system performance. Therefore, this paper capitalized a novel stochastically multipath scheduling scheme for data and path capacity variations. The scheduling problem formulated over MPTCP as a stochastic optimization, whose objective is to maximize the average throughput, avoid network congestion, and makes the system more stable with greater energy efficiency. To design an online algorithm that solves the formulated problem over the time slots by considering its mindrift-plus penalty form. The proposed solution was examined under extensive simulations to evaluate the anticipated stochastic optimized MPTCP (so-MPTCP) outcome and compared it with the base MPTCP and the energy-efficient MPTCP (eMPTCP) protocols. Simulation results justify the proposed algorithm's credibility by achieving remarkable improvements, higher throughput, reduced energy costs, and lower-end to end delay.

An Internet draft, named RR(Return Routability) protocol, proposed to IETF mobileip WG, in order to establish an optimal path to MN(Mobile Node) by securely sending the BU(Binding Update) message to CN(Correspondent Node). However, it has some problems with initiating the protocol by the MN: it causes to increases in communication load in the home network, to increases communication delay between MN and CN, and increases in communication load due to unnecessary message exchanges. To resolve the problems, this paper proposes an alternative scheme for the RR protocol in MIPv6. The proposed scheme is devised to start the protocol by HA on receiving the first packet from CN. It decreases the route optimization overhead by reducing the number of BU messages as well as the communication time. Beside these advantages, this scheme provides the same security grade as the original RR protocol.

This paper investigates the outage performance and optimization for the four-phase two-way transmission network with an energy harvesting (EH) relay. To enable the simultaneous information processing and energy harvesting at the relay, we firstly propose a power splitting-based two-way relaying protocol (PSTWR). Then, we discuss its outage performance theoretically and derive an explicit expression for the system outage probability. In order to find the optimal system configuration parameters such as the optimal power splitting ratio and the optimal transmit power redistribution factor, we formulate an outage-minimized optimization problem. As the problem is difficult to solve, we design a genetic algorithm (GA) based algorithm for it. Besides, we also investigate the effects of the power splitting ratio, the power redistribution factor at the relay, and the source to relay distance on the system outage performance. Finally, extensive simulation results are provided to demonstrate the accuracy of the analytical results and the effectiveness of the GA-based algorithm. Moreover, it is also shown that, the relay position greatly affects the system performance, where relatively worse outage performance is achieved when the EH relay is placed in the middle of the two sources.
This paper propose the issue of connecting nested NEMO (Network Nobility) networks to global IPv6 networks, while supporting IPv6 mobility. Specifically, we consider a self-addressing including topology information IPv6-enabled NEMO infrastructure. The proposed self-organization addressing protocol automatically organized mobile routers into free architecture and configuration their global IPv6 addresses. BU(binding update) to MR own HA and internal rouging, hosed on longest prefix matching and soft state routing cache, are specially designed for IPv6-based NEMO. In conclusion, numeric analysis ore conducted to show more efficiency of the proposed routing protocols than other RO (Route Optimization) approaches.
In this paper, we describe the development and optimization of an embedded Biuetooth solution on an SoC platform for real-time audio streaming over a Bluetooth wireless link. The solution includes embedded Bluetooth protocol stack and profile simplemented on a virtual operating system for portability, and other optimization techniques to fully exploit the benefits of multimedia-oriented SoC. The optimization techniques implemented in this paper are memory access minimization by using on-chip scratch pad memory, codec library optimization with DSP and parallel memory access instruction set, and dynamic audio quality adjustment regarding current wireless link status. Experimental results show that the optimized solution presented in this paper can support high-qualify audio streaming without the support of external memory.

Multicast Routings is a big challenge due to limitations such as node power and bandwidth Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET). The path to be chosen from the source to the destination node requires protocols. Multicast protocols support group-oriented operations in a bandwidth-efficient way. While several protocols for multi-cast MANETs have been evolved, security remains a challenging problem. Consequently, MANET is required for high quality of service measures (QoS) such infrastructure and application to be identified. The goal of a MANETs QoS-aware protocol is to discover more optimal pathways between the network source/destination nodes and hence the QoS demands. It works by employing the optimization method to pick the route path with the emphasis on several QoS metrics. In this paper safe routing is guaranteed using the Secured Multicast Routing offered in MANET by utilizing the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) technique to integrate the QOS-conscious route setup into the route selection. This implies that only the data transmission may select the way to meet the QoS limitations from source to destination. Furthermore, the track reliability is considered when selecting the best path between the source and destination nodes. For the optimization of the best path and its performance, the optimized algorithm called the micro artificial bee colony approach is chosen about the probabilistic ant routing technique.

We investigate mobile multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) molecular communication via diffusion (MCvD) system which is consisted of two source nodes, two destination nodes and one relay node in the mobile three-dimensional channel. First, the combinations of decode-and-forward (DF) relaying protocol and network coding (NC) scheme are implemented at relay node. The adaptive thresholds at relay node and destination nodes can be obtained by maximum a posteriori (MAP) probability detection method. Then the mathematical expressions of the average bit error probability (BEP) of this mobile MIMO MCvD system based on DF and NC scheme are derived. Furthermore, in order to minimize the average BEP, we establish the optimization problem with optimization variables which include the ratio of the number of emitted molecules at two source nodes and the initial position of relay node. We put forward an iterative scheme based on block coordinate descent algorithm which can be used to solve the optimization problem and get optimal values of the optimization variables simultaneously. Finally, the numerical results reveal that the proposed iterative method has good convergence behavior. The average BEP performance of this system can be improved by performing the joint optimizations.

Variable length information message is a communication protocol standard in order for computer network systems to provide efficient delivery of information. The variable length information messages were developed for varying and controlling details of information in accordance with message receiver's required information level or information access level. In the previous studies, data compressing techniques have been in use for information message optimization technologies in order to reduce physical sizes of information messages. In optimization technologies for information messages, accuracy of information is considered as the most important factor; therefore, only non-loss compression techniques are applied to the optimization technologies. However, the non-loss compression based information message optimization methods are not efficient in data compression, and these are limited to efficient delivery of information in wireless network environments that have constraint bandwidth. In this paper, we attempt to optimize information in the variable length information messages at message fields in order to reduce physical sizes of messages more efficiently. To demonstrate the efficiency of our approach, we conduct optimization experiments for variable length information messages.

This paper investigates the energy efficiency of energy harvesting (EH) bidirectional cooperative sensor networks, in which the considered system model enables the uplink information transmission from the sensor (SN) to access point (AP) and the energy supply for the amplify-and-forward (AF) relay and SN using power-splitting (PS) or time-switching (TS) protocol. Considering the minimum EH activation constraint and quality of service (QoS) requirement, energy efficiency is maximized by jointly optimizing the resource division ratio and transmission power. To cope with the non-convexity of the optimizations, we propose the low complexity iterative algorithm based on fractional programming and alternative search method (FAS). The key idea of the proposed algorithm first transforms the objective function into the parameterized polynomial subtractive form. Then we decompose the optimization into two convex sub-problems, which can be solved by conventional convex programming. Simulation results validate that the proposed schemes have better output performance and the iterative algorithm has a fast convergence rate.

Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) are self-configuring networks where the nodes are vehicles equipped with wireless communication technologies. In such networks, limitation of signal coverage and fast topology changes impose difficulties to the proper functioning of the routing protocols. Traditional Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET) routing protocols lose their performance, when communicating between vehicles, compromising information exchange. Obviously, most applications critically rely on routing protocols. Thus, in this work, we propose a methodology for investigating the performance of well-established protocols for MANETs in the VANET arena and, at the same time, we introduce a routing protocol, called Genetic Network Protocol (G-NET). It is based in part on Dynamic Source Routing Protocol (DSR) and on the use of Genetic Algorithms (GAs) for maintenance and route optimization. As G-NET update routes periodically, this work investigates its performance compared to DSR and Ad Hoc on demand Distance Vector (AODV). For more realistic simulation of vehicle movement in urban environments, an analysis was performed by using the VanetMobiSim mobility generator and the Network Simulator (NS-3). Experiments were conducted with different number of vehicles and the results show that, despite the increased routing overhead with respect to DSR, G-NET is better than AODV and provides comparable data delivery rate to the other protocols in the analyzed scenarios.
