According to the notion that anxious attachment may not explain depression fully, there has been abundant studies investigating the mediating factors affecting the relationship between anxious attachment and depression. However, there was no previous study examining the mediating effect of self-absorption. Therefore, the present study examined the mediating effect of self-absorption on the relationships between adult anxious attachment and depression for 283 college students. To examine relationships among variables, structural equation modeling analysis was utilized. and the present study found a partial mediation effect of self-absorption in the relationship between anxious attachment and depression. This result suggests that anxious attachment influences attentional process and as a result, the maladoptive self-focused attention can precipitate depression. Current findings can contribute to the field by providing knowledge about risk factors and cognitive mediators affecting mental health of college students who are in "transitional period" in their life. Future studies can investigate interactions among risk, protective, and mediating factors affecting the relationship between anxious attachment and depression among college students.
We have investigated whether the supplement of magnesium to cold blood cardioplegia improves myocardial protection. Sixty patients scheduled for elective valvular heart surgery were randomly assigned to a control group (n=30) which received conventional cold blood cardioplegia and an Mg group (n=30) which received cold blood cardioplegia supplemented with 2 g of magnesium sulfate. Electrolytes levels including $Mg^{++}$, hematological and biochemical variables, cytokines, myocardial marker levels, and postoperative outcomes were compared between two groups before, during or idler operation. $Mg^{++}\;and\;Ca^{++}$ levels in the Mg group were higher than those of the control group after surgery. The total WBC counts, CK-MB, troponin-I and Interleukin-6 levels in the Mg group were lower than those of the control group after surgery. Postoperative incidence of atrial fibrillation was lower in the Mg group compared with the control group. These results showed that $Mg^{++}$ attenuated inflammatory reaction, myocardial damage, and hypomagnesemia during valvular surgery and reduced postoperative arrhythmia incidence without side effects.
This study was conducted to study the effect of acculturation on the permanent resident and naturalized citizens' mental health status. The Survey Data of Foreign Residents in Korea 2012 was utilized. Independent variable was the acculturation level, measured by the duration of life spent in Korea and the level of Korean proficiency. The dependent variable was the mental health outcome. Initially, acculturation showed protective effect on mental health of immigrants. But after adjustment of control variables, the effect of acculturation disappeared. This result does not converge into the general trajectory of mental health status among immigrants regarding the level of acculturation. The experience of discrimination had outstanding negative effect, which suggests policy inception point.

This study confirmed by a meta-analysis of the effect of suppressing the size of the turnover variable based on the thesis concerning "turnover intention" of the past 15 years, and the trend over the year, according to published meta-regression analysis was verified. The overall effect size for the study was found to inhibit factors medium effect size. Effect size is a private property factor by lower variable salary levels, age and marital status, working period, turnover experience, educational level, showed a work order forms, job characteristics factor is job satisfaction, working conditions, job importance, firm relationships with colleagues, showed a net job autonomy. In addition, organizational characteristic factor effect sizes organizational commitment, organizational commitment, advancement opportunities, compensation satisfaction, organizational justice, participatory doctor had determined the net. Changes in accordance with the published year is closer to 2015 it showed that the effect of inhibiting factors reduced size.
Objectives : This study characterized the extent to which youth depressive symptoms, parental alcohol problems, and parental drinking account for differences in alcohol-related problems among a large sample of adolescent females. Methods : The stratified sample consists of 2077 adolescent females from twelve female-only high schools located in a large metropolitan city in the Republic of Korea. Students completed a questionnaire about alcohol use and alcohol problems, their parents' alcohol problems, and a number of risk and protective factors. Data were analyzed using tobit regression analyses to better characterize the associations among variables. Results : Almost two-thirds of students who consume alcohol had experienced at least one to two alcohol-related problems in their lives and 54.6% reported at least one current symptom of depression, with nearly one-third reporting two depressive symptoms. Two-thirds of the students indicated that at least one parent had an alcohol-related problem, and that approximately 29% had experienced several problems. Results of tobit regression analyses indicate that youth alcohol-related problems are positively associated with depressive symptoms (p<0.01) and parent drinking problems (p<0.05). Parental drinking is no longer significant when the variable parental attention is added to the model. Decomposition of the tobit parameters shows that for every unit of increase in depressive symptoms and in parent drinking problems, the probability of a youth experiencing alcohol problems increases by 6% and 1%, respectively. For every unit of increase in parental attention, the probability of youth experiencing drinking problems decreases by 5%. Conclusions : This study presents evidence that alcohol-related problems and depressive symptoms are highly prevalent among adolescent females. Although a comprehensive public health approach is needed to address drinking and mental health problems, different interventions are needed to target factors associated with initiation of alcohol problems and those associated with increased alcohol problems among those who already began experiencing such problems.
Background: Osteoprotegerin (OPG) plays protective roles against the development of vascular calcification (VC) which greatly contributes to the increased cardiovascular events in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The present study aimed to find the non-traditional, kidney-related cardiovascular risk factors correlated to serum OPG and the effect of serum OPG on the arterial stiffness measured by brachial ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) in patients with the pre-dialysis CKD. Methods: We cross-sectionally analyzed the data from the patients in whom baPWV and the serum OPG were measured at the time of enrollment in a prospective pre-dialysis CKD cohort study in Korea. Results: Along with traditional cardiovascular risk factors such as age, diabetes mellitus, pulse pressure, and baPWV, non-traditional, kidney-related factors such as albuminuria, plasma level of hemoglobin, total $CO_2$ content, alkaline phosphatase, and corrected calcium were independent variables for serum OPG in multivariate linear regression. Reciprocally, the serum OPG was positively associated with baPWV in multivariate linear regression. The baPWV in the 3rd and 4th quartile groups of serum OPG were higher than that in the 1st quartile group after adjustments by age, sex and other significant factors for baPWV in linear mixed model. Conclusion: Non-traditional, kidney-related cardiovascular risk factors in addition to traditional cardiovascular risk factors were related to serum level of OPG in CKD. Serum OPG level was significantly related to baPWV. Our study suggests that kidney-related factors involved in CKD-specific pathways for VC play a role in the increased secretion of OPG into circulation in patients with CKD.
Objectives: This study examined stunting at birth and its associations with physical factors of parents and children in Indonesia. Methods: This study analyzed secondary data from the national cross-sectional Indonesian Basic Health Survey 2018, conducted across 34 provinces and 514 districts/cities. Birth length data were available for 756 newborns. Univariable, bivariable, and multivariable logistic regression analyses were performed to determine associations between the physical factors of parents and children and stunting at birth. Results: In total, 10.2% of children aged 0 months were stunted at birth (10.7% of males and 9.5% of females). Stunting at birth was associated with the mother's age at first pregnancy, parity, parents' heights, parents' ages, and gestational age. Children from mothers with short statures (height <145.0 cm) and fathers with short statures (height <161.9 cm) had an almost 6 times higher likelihood of being stunted at birth (adjusted odds ratio, 5.93; 95% confidence interval, 5.53 to 6.36). A higher maternal age at first pregnancy had a protective effect against stunting. However, other variables (firstborn child, preterm birth, and both parents' ages being <20 or >35 years) corresponded to a 2-fold higher likelihood of stunting at birth compared to the reference. Conclusions: These findings provide evidence that interventions to reduce stunting aimed at pregnant females should also consider the parents' stature, age, and parity, particularly if it is the first pregnancy and if the parents are short in stature or young. Robust programs to support pregnant females and monitor children's heights from birth will help prevent intergenerational stunting.
The purpose of this study is to provide policy and adaptive interventions for quality of life of the elderly and evidence-based data. For this, meta-analysis was performed using CMA program, and the final 65 researches were used for analysis. The results, (1)The risk factors(depression, solitude, anxiety, suicidal Ideation, stress) showed the effect size which is suitable for quality of life. The effect size of depression was the highest. (2)The protective factors(self-esteem, self-efficacy) showed medium effect size and large effect size. Among them, self-esteem showed the greatest effect size of quality of life. However, self - control appeared to have a low effect size.
Flow-Accelerated Corrosion (FAC) is a phenomenon in which a protective coating on a metal surface is dissolved by a flow of fluid in a metal pipe, leading to continuous wall-thinning. Recently, many countries have developed computer codes to manage FAC in power plants, and the FAC prediction model in these computer codes plays an important role in predictive performance. Herein, the FAC prediction model was developed by applying a machine learning method and the conventional nonlinear regression method. The random forest, a widely used machine learning technique in predictive modeling led to easy calculation of FAC tendency for five input variables: flow rate, temperature, pH, Cr content, and dissolved oxygen concentration. However, the model showed significant errors in some input conditions, and it was difficult to obtain proper regression results without using additional data points. In contrast, nonlinear regression analysis predicted robust estimation even with relatively insufficient data by assuming an empirical equation and the model showed better predictive power when the interaction between DO and pH was considered. The comparative analysis of this study is believed to provide important insights for developing a more sophisticated FAC prediction model.

Purpose: This study aimed to identify the factors influencing infection-related characteristics and patient safety culture on awareness of blood-borne infection prevention between operating room nurses and general ward nurses. Methods: Participants were 198 nurses(operating room nurses 98 and general ward nurses: 100) working at three general hospitals and three university hospitals in three cities. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire from September 11 to October 14, 2020. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression with IBM SPSS/WIN 26.0 program. Results: Typically, 39.8% of nurses in the operating room and 24.0% of ward nurses experienced injuries such as needles and sharp instruments used by the patient. The awareness of patient safety culture was identified to be higher for the ward nurses. Factors influencing the awareness of blood-borne infection prevention in operating room nurses were patient safety culture and wearing protective equipment for infection prevention while nursing infected patients. Moreover, the explanatory power of these variables was 19.4%. In general ward nurses, the patient safety culture was identified as a significant predictor, which accounted for 16.5% of awareness of blood-borne infection prevention. Conclusion: To prevent hospital infection, a strategy is needed to improve the level of awareness of blood-borne infection prevention and patient safety culture of operating room nurses. To this end, the difference in infection-related characteristics and influencing factors between the operating room nurses and the general ward nurses should be considered and planned.
