Path Tracking Controller Design and Simulation for Korean Lunar Lander Demonstrator

  • In Korea, Lunar exploration program has been prepared with the aim of launching in the 2020's. As a part of it, a lunar lander demonstrator was developed, which was the model for verifying the system such as structure, propulsion, and control system, before launching into the deep space. This paper deals with the path tracking performance of the lunar lander demonstrator with respect to the thruster controller based on Pulse Width Pulse Frequency Modulator (PWPFM) and Pulse Width Modulator (PWM). First, we derived equations of motion, considering the allocation of the thrusters, and designed the path tracking controller based on Euler angle. The signal generated from the path tracking controller is continuous, so PWPFM and PWM modulator are adopted for generating ON/OFF signal. Finally, MATLAB simulation is performed for evaluating the path tracking ability. We compared the path tracking performances of PWPFM and PWM based thrust controller, using performance measures such as the total impulse and the position error with respect to the desired path.

  • There is at present a growing interest in the use of SWATH(Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull )ship for a variety of purposes due to their good seakeeping characteristics, small speed reduction in wave, and large deck area. Highly sophisticated design technology is requested to develop the SWATH ship. This paper describes the design technology for high speed coastal passenger SWATH ship which includes feasibility study, general arrangement and hull form design, resistance and propulsion test, motion test in regular waves, control fin design, and structural design.

전달함수법을 이용한 SWATH선의 수중 음향 방사 해석 (Analysis of Underwater Acoustic Radiation of SWATH vessel using Transfer Function Method)

  • The good sea-keeping capability of the SWATH(Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull) ship has been attractive for research or surveillance vessels. Especially, for the naval ships accomplishing the underwater acoustic missions, it is necessary to access and minimize the underwater radiated noise level generated by the ships. Therefore, acoustic signature management and control are very important topics for these vessels. Underwater radiation pattern in the low frequency range is dominated by the tonals from the vibration of onboard machinery. In this work, the radiated noise level generated by the propulsion machine in the submerged hull is predicted using the transfer function technique and the hull transfer function for the submerged hull is determined by analyzing the longitudinal/circumferential stiffened infinitely long cylindrical shell and considering the empirical database of the previous vessels. It is confirmed that the transfer function technique can give useful information for identifying the noise source and estimating its contribution to the total radiatied noise level.

  • 본 연구는 순수 국내기술로 개발된 국산화 전동차 광주도시철도 1호선의 추진제어 장치의 본선시운전에 관한 것으로, 외국기술에 의존해온 추진 제어장치를 국내기술로 설계하고 본선시운전을 통하여 추진제어장치의 신뢰성 및 안정성에 관하여 실험을 실시하였다. 그리고 추진제어 장치에 적용한 알고리즘은 필터 사이즈를 감소하기위하여 기존의 패턴에 의한 PWM방식을 사용치 않고, 출력전류의 고조파 리플이 적은 저주파 동기 공간벡터 PWM 알고리즘을 제안하고, 가선전압의 변동에 강인한 댐핑 제어 및 과전압 제한 제어 알고리즘을 제시하고, 제안된 알고리즘은 본선시운전을 통하여 타당함을 확인하였다.

  • Microsystem technology has been applied to space technology and became one of the enabling technology by which low cost and high efficiency are achievable. Micro propulsion system is a key technology in the miniature satellite because micro satellite requires very small and precise thrust force for maneuvering and attitude control. In this paper research on micro solid propellant thruster is reported. Micro solid propellant thruster has four basic components; micro combustion chamber, micro nozzle, solid propellant and micro igniter. In this research igniter, solid propellant and combustion chamber are focused. Micro igniter was fabricated through typical micromachining and evaluated. The characteristic of solid propellant was investigated to observe burning characteristic and to obtain burning velocity. Change of thrust force and the amount of energy loss following scale down at micro combustion chamber were estimated by numerical simulation based on empirical data and through the calculation normalized specific impulses were compared to figure out the efficiency of combustion chamber.

순전기자동차용 타여자직류기의 속도제어기 설계 (Design of a Speed Controller for the Separately Excited DC Motor in Application on Pure Electric Vehicles)

  • In this paper, an robust adaptive backstepping controller is proposed for the speed control of separately excited DC motor in pure electric vehicles. A general electric drive train of PEV is conceptually rearrange to major subsystems as electric propulsion, energy source, and auxiliary subsystem and the load torque is modeled by considering the aerodynamic, rolling resistance and grading resistance. Armature and field resistance, damping coefficient and load torque are considered as uncertainties and noise generated at applying load torque to motor is also considered. It shows that the backstepping algorithm can be used to solve the problems of nonlinear system very well and robust controller can be designed without the variation of adaptive law. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

Advanced High Frequency AC Propulsion System for Next Generation Electric Hybrid Vehicle

  • 본 논문은 PNGV 계획에 따른 차세대 전기자동차의 개발을 위하여 고주파 교류 전력분배 시스템을 적용하여 이용할 수 있는 추진력 장치의 구현 가능성에 대한 조사 연구이다. 실행 가능한 관점에서 전력 분배와 에너지원의 결합이 쉽게 이루어 질 수 있고 변환이 가능한 여러 가지 형태의 시스템이 비교 검토되었으며, 현재 기술 수준으로 보아 가까운 장래에 실현 가능한 최적의 시스템 구성은 배터리와 내연기관엔진 및 유도전동기를 이용하는 하이브리드형이 제시되었다. 각 시스템의 원활한 전력수급과 운전특성을 위하여 단상 고주파 교류 전력분배 제어기법을 적용하였으며, 이 시스템의 타당성을 입증하기 위하여 시스템 구성에 따른 모델링과 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 실시하였다. 이 결과 차세대 전기자동차용으로 제시된 고주파 교류 전력분배에 의한 하이브리드형 추진력 시스템이 가능하며 운전특성도 우수함을 보여주었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 열차의 실제 노선 운행을 모의하여 구동 장치의 특성을 평가하고 에너지 절약에 대한 연구를 하였다. 이에 대하여 열차의 구동 에너지를 절약하기 위한 모터의 제어 방식과 제너레이터의 회생 에너지에 관한 연구를 선택하였다. 실제 대전 지하철의 노선 데이터를 이용하여 열차 주행 결과를 시뮬레이션 하였다. SVM (Space Vector Modulation) - DTC (Direct Torque Control)로 구현된 M-G Set으로 열차가 주행 시 모터에서 소비되는 에너지와 제동 시 제너레이터에서 발생되는 회생 에너지를 Simplorer 프로그램을 이용하여 시뮬레이션 하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과를 통해 열차의 소비 에너지와 회생 에너지를 연구한다.

  • In this paper, the experiment on the dynamic characteristics of LIM for the propulsion system UTM(Urban Transit Maglev) is threated. Untill now LIM has been mainly experimented by using the rotational arch type system, but this system compose of the test vehicle mounted LIM, which driven by PWM inverter. And the anlysis of the performance and the steady-state characteristics of the LIM is treated under various operation patterns. This paper may be available to compose the operating system of LIM driven by the open or closed loop control.

Open Circuit Fault Diagnosis Using Stator Resistance Variation for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drives

  • This paper proposes a novel fault diagnosis scheme using parameter estimation of the stator resistance, especially in the case of the open-phase faults of PMSM drives. The stator resistance of PMSMs can be estimated by the recursive least square (RLS) algorithm in real time. Fault diagnosis is achieved by analyzing the estimated stator resistance of each phase according to the fault condition. The proposed fault diagnosis scheme is implemented without any extra devices. Moreover, the estimated parameter information can be used to improve the control performance. The feasibility of the proposed fault diagnosis scheme is verified by simulation and experimental results.
