선박의 성능 요소 추정을 위한 신경망의 실용화 연구 (Practical Application of Neural Networks for Prediction of Ship's Performance Factors)

  • In the initial ship design stage, performance predictions are generally carried out before and after the hull form design. The former is based on the main dimensions and power information, and the latter is based on the geometry of the hull form and propeller. This paper deals with the practical application of neural networks for the prediction of a ship's performance factors before and after the hull form design. For this, the hull form parameters that affect the performance are studied, and an optimal neural network structure based on the SSMB database is constructed. By comparing the results predicted by neural networks and the model test results, we confirmed that neural networks can be applied to practically evaluate the performance in the initial ship design stage.

  • In this work, a preliminary design of an inlet guide vane and runner for developing a 2.5 kW hydraulic turbine was conducted by using computational fluid dynamic analysis. Three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with shear stress transport turbulence model were used to analyze the fluid flow in the hydraulic turbine. The hexahedral grid system was used to construct computational domain, and the grid dependency test was performed to obtain the optimal grid system. Velocity triangle diagram considering the flow angles of the inlet guide vane and runner was analyzed to obtain a basic geometry of the inlet guide vane and runner. Through modification of the preliminary design, the hydraulic performances of the turbine have improved under overall drop conditions. Especially, the efficiency and power of the turbine increased by 0.95% and 1.45%, respectively, compared to those of the reference model.

공구이동궤적 모델을 이용한 5축 페이스밀링 가공데이터 생성 (Five-axis CL Data Generation by Considering Tool Swept Surface Model in Face Milling of Sculptured Surface)

  • It is well known that the five-axis machining has advantages of tool accessibility and machined surface quality when compared with conventional three-axis machining. Traditional researches on the five-axis tool-path generation have addressed interferences such as cutter gouging, collision, machine kinematics and optimization of a CL(cutter location) or a cutter position. In the paper it is presented that optimal CL data for a face-milling cutter moving on a tool-path are obtained by incorporating TSS(tool swept surface) model. The TSS model from current CL position to the next CL position is constructed based on machine kinematics as well as cutter geometry, with which the deviation from the design surface can be computed. Then the next CC(cutter-contact) point should be adjusted such that the deviation conforms to given machining tolerance value. The proposed algorithm was implemented and applied to a marine propeller machining, which proved effective from a quantitative point of view. In addition, the algorithm using the TSS can also be applied to avoid cutter convex interferences in general three-axis NC machining.

고층건물 도로협곡의 바람특성 (Wind Characteristics of Urban Street Canyon at High Rise Building Area)

  • The street canyon forms the geometric unit of the built environment. The geometry makes up urban canyons and it influences the urban climate. In order to investigate the wind characteristics of urban street canyon at Dogok-dong, Gangnam-gu in Seoul, the wind direction and wind speed data were observed and analyzed by using 2-D ultra sonic and propeller wind monitor from May 5, 2010 to May 4, 2011. The results show that the prevailing wind direction was west at Station A(Military Mutual Aid Association Building), southwest at Station B(Sookmyung Girls' High School) and the wind speed of Station B was higher than Station A. There were diurnal differences about prevailing wind direction between two stations : it was westerly wind at Station A for a whole day, but at Station B only from 22 : 00 to 04 : 00. However, Station B is different from Station A at other time. At Station B, it was easterly wind from 04 : 00 to 12 : 00, southwesterly wind from 12 : 00 to 22 : 00. In terms of seasonal(except winter) frequency, the spring shows the highest frequency and fall was the next.

유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 컨테이너선을 위한 침식예방용 최적방향타 단면 설계 (Study on Optimization of Anti-erosion Rudder Section of Large Container Ship by Genetic Algorithm)

  • This paper describes the optimization of the rudder section by the genetic algorism based on VLM(Vortex Lattice Method) and panel method. The developed propeller-rudder analysis program has been validated by comparing with experimental data. The research extends to optimize the anti-erosion rudder section of the large container ship. The object function is the amount of pressure at leading edge of rudder which is closely related with erosion phenomena. The optimized rudder has been compared with conventional rudder with NACA 0021 section by analyzing with the developed program. The finally optimized section has low and mild pressure distribution in comparison with the NACA rudder. The experiments is expected to be carried out for the validation of the present optimization and more parametric study of section geometry is also expected to be conducted in the near future.

Perpendicular Interpenetration of Independent Square Grid Sheets. Synthesis and Structural Properties of $[Co(NCS)_2(Py_2L)_2]_n$($Py_2L$=trans-1,2-Bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene, 1,2-Bis(4-pyridyl)ethane)

  • Novel coordination polymers of general form $[Co(NCS)_2(Py_2L)_2]_n\; (Py_2L=trans-1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene$ (bpee), 1; 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane (bpea), 2) have been synthesized by slow diffusion of aqueous solution of $Co(NCS)_2$ with ethanolic solution of appropriate spacer ligand, $Py_2L$, in a mole ratio of 1 : 2. X-ray analyses on both 1 and 2 have provided similar unit and infinite structures with space group Ibam. The local geometry around the cobalt(Ⅱ) atoms is an octahedral arrangement with two NCS groups in trans position (N-Co-N, 180.0° (1); 180.0°(2)) and four pyridine units in propeller fashion. Each spacer ligand connects two cobalt(Ⅱ) ions defining the edges of a $[Co(II)]_4$ rhombus. The most fascinating feature is the occurrence of perpendicular interwoven of independent square grid sheets: this is, one molecular network is perpendicularly interpenetrated through the centers of the $[Co(II)]_4$ rhombuses of another independent network with all of the cobalt(Ⅱ) atoms in a coplanar sheet. The physicochemical properties of the present unique structures were studied.

부가수 질량을 고려한 외팔판의 고유진동 해석 (Natural Frequency Analysis of Cantilever Plates with Added Mass)

  • The high-skewed and/or composite propellers of current interests to reduce the ship vibration and to increase the acoustic performance are likely to be exposed to the unexpected structural problems. One typical example is that the added mass effect on the propellers working in the non-uniform wake field reduces the natural frequency of the propeller leading to the resonance with the low-frequency excitation of the external forces. To avoid this resonance problem during the design stage, the technique of fluid-structure interaction has been developed, but the higher-order effect of the blade geometry deformation is not yet considered in evaluating the added mass effects. In this paper the fluid boundary-value problem is formulated by the potential-based panel method in the inviscid fluid region with the velocity inflow due to the body deformation, and the structural response of the solid body under the hydrodynamic loading is solved by applying the finite element method which implements the 20-node iso-parametric element model. The fluid-structure problem is solved iteratively. A basic fluid-sturcture interaction study is performed with the simple rectangular plates of thin thickness with various planform submerged in the water of infinite extent. The computations show good correlation with the experimental results of Linholm, et al. (1965).

보정된 카메라를 이용한 표면영상유속계의 좌표변환방법 (Coordinate Transform Method of Surface Image Velocimetry with a Calibrated Camera)

  • 표면영상유속계(SIV)는 영상 처리 기술을 이용하여 수표면의 유속을 측정하는 장비이다. 표면영상유속계는 하천의 유속을 매우 간편하게 측정할 수 있도록 한다. 그러나, 표면영상유속계를 이용하여 유량을 산정하고자 할 경우, 하천 표면의 평면 측량 자료와 하천의 단면 측량 자료가 반드시 필요하다. 이 때문에 표면영상유속계의 간편성과 유용성에도 불구하고, 이용자들이 쉽게 이용하기 어렵다는 그릇된 인식을 줄 수 있다. 만일 효율적이고 간편하게 하천의 평면을 추정할 수 있다면, 표면영상유속계를 마치 일반적인 프로펠러 유속계처럼 쉽게 이용할 수 있을 것이며, 그 적용성도 크게 증진될 것이다. 이 연구는 보정된 카메라를 이용하여 실제의 평면 좌표(물리 좌표)를 추정하는 방법에 대한 것이다. 이 방법을 이용하면 유속장을 추정하는 과정을 반자동화할 수 있다. 보정된 카메라에서 평면 좌표를 산정하기 위해 사진 측량학적 기법을 채택하였다. 이 기법들은 컴퓨터 시각 분야에서 오랜 동안 연구되어 온 것이다. 이 기법을 표면영상유속계에 적용하여 사영 변환을 위한 참조점들의 좌표를 구할 수 있다. 이를 통해 참조점 측량에 대한 번거로운 과정을 생략할 수 있다. 개발된 방법을 실제 적용해 본 결과는 오차를 무시할 수 있을 정도임을 입증하였다.
