  • In recent, projection mapping, which has attracted high attention in the field of realistic media, is regarded as a technology to increase the users' immersion. However, most existing methods perform projection mapping on static objects. In this paper, we developed a technology to track the movements of users and dynamically map the media contents to the users' bodies. The projected media content is built by predefined gestures just using the user's bare hands without the special devices. An interactive immersive media system has been implemented by integrating these dynamic projection mapping technologies and gesture-based drawing technologies. The proposed realistic media system recognizes the movements and open / closed states of the user 's hands, selects the functions necessary to draw a picture. The users can freely draw the picture by changing the color of the brush using the colors of any real objects. In addition, the user's drawing is dynamically projected on the user's body, allowing the user to design and wear his t-shirt in real-time.

  • This paper proposes an algorithm of segmentation and title detection for document image. The automated title detection method that we have developed is composed of two phases, segmentation and title area detection. In the first phase, we extract and segment the document image. To perform this operation, the binary map is segmented by combination of morphological operation and CCA(connected component algorithm). The first phase provides segmented regions that would be detected as title area for the second stage. Candidate title areas are detected using geometric information, then we can extract the title region that is performed by removing non-title regions. After classification step that removes non-text regions, projection is performed to detect a title region. From the fact that usually the largest font is used for the title in the document, horizontal projection is performed within text areas. In this paper, we proposed a method of segmentation and title detection for various forms of document images using geometric features and projection profile analysis. The proposed system is expected to have various applications, such as document title recognition, multimedia data searching, real-time image processing and so on.

  • In this paper, we study the map projections from pseudo-sphere $S_1^2$ onto the non-lightlike surfaces in the 3-dimensional Lorentzian space, $L^3$, with curvature zero. We show geometrical means and properties of $\mathbb{R}{\times}S_1^1-cylindrical$, $S^1{\times}L-cylindrical$ and $\mathbb{R}{\times}H_0^1-cylindrical$ projections defined on $S_1^2$ to cylinders $\mathbb{R}{\times}S_1^1,\;S^1{\times}L$ and $\mathbb{R}{\times}H_0^1$, respectively, and orthographic and stereographic projections on $S_1^2$ to Lorentzian plane, $L^2$.

  • Let $P(M,G,{\pi})=:P$ be a principal fibre bundle with structure Lie group G over a base manifold M. In this paper we get the following facts: 1. The tangent bundle TG of the structure Lie group G in $P(M,G,{\pi})=:P$ is a Lie group. 2. The Lie algebra ${\mathcal{g}}=T_eG$ is a normal subgroup of the Lie group TG. 3. $TP(TM,TG,{\pi}_*)=:TP$ is a principal fibre bundle with structure Lie group TG and projection ${\pi}_*$ over base manifold TM, where ${\pi}_*$ is the differential map of the projection ${\pi}$ of P onto M. 4. for a Lie group $H,\;TH=H{\circ}T_eH=T_eH{\circ}H=TH$ and $H{\cap}T_eH=\{e\}$, but H is not a normal subgroup of the group TH in general.

  • This paper proposes a boundary artifacts reduction method for synthesized views in 3D video system using Projection onto Convex Sets (POCS). In 3D video system, boundary artifacts are occurred in synthesized views by distorted depth map. In this paper, we analyze boundary artifacts, and show the experimental results by the proposed algorithm on various situations.

  • Eye gaze positions evaluation on computer screen uses the human eye as an input device for computer systems is that it gives low resolution. We proposes a method to determine the eye gaze positions on the screen by using two-eye displacements as the information for mapping, and the perspective projection is applied to map the displacements to a position on a computer screen. The experiments were performed on 20 persons and a 17-inch monitor is used with the screen resolution of 1024x768 pixels. Gaze detection error was 3.18 cm (RMS error), with screen is divided into 5x8 and 7x10 positions on a 17-inch monitor. The results showed 100% and 96% correction, respectively.

  • Linyphiidae Blackwall, 1859 is one of the most diverse and largest families within the order Araneae Clerck, 1757. Of the currently 60 valid species of the genus Neriene Blackwall, 1833 worldwide, 10 species are distributed in Korea. The males of the new sheet-web spider Neriene bovista sp. nov. were recently collected with a sweep net between the shrubs of mixed forests from the hilly valley with well conserved nature in Uljin-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do (the middle east coast region) during a seasonal survey of the spider fauna in hilly terrains in 2017-2018. The present study describes a new sheet-web spider, Neriene bovista sp. nov. with a diagnosis, detailed description, morphological illustrations, and a distribution map from Korea. The new species has a characteristic mushroom-like tip of the terminal apophysis, the truncated tip of anterior projection, and the bifurcated lateral projection of the lamella compared to the congeners of the genus Neriene Blackwall, 1833.

  • The Carte do Cassini is the first accurate topographic map of an entire country and it influenced enormously in the development of cartography in other countries. The purpose of this paper is to examine the production process and characteristics of the Carte do Cassini, and to and the place of 'Carte de Cassini' in the development of cartography. For this, firstly, the background of French national topographic mapping is examined and scientific work of the Cassini family is resumed. Second, the map production process is considered; location and attribute data collection, copperplate printing, social and economic difficulties. Third, map characteristics such as map projection, sheet numbering system, positional accuracy, legend, typographies, and depiction of cartographic signs are explored. Finally, the influence of the Carte de Cassini on cartographic development and its historical meaning is discussed.

  • We have defined a bijective map from certain set of coinstacks onto the permutations avoiding 132-pattern and give an algorithm that finds a corresponding permutation from a given coin-stack. We also list several open problems which are similar as a CS-partition problem.

  • An adaptive learning control scheme by use of multilayer neural networks for compensating for uncertainties in nonlinear dynamic system is examined. Multilayer neural networks are introduced to map the uncertainties in nonlinear dynamics and perform nonlinear state feedback. Parameters of neural networks are adjusted by conventional back-propagation algorithms modified with the projection operation. Effectiveness of the proposed scheme for tracking control are demonstrated through computer simulations.
