Purpose: The Assessing Care Of Vulnerable Elders project has developed indicators for the quality of the end-of-life (EOL) care. However, family members of cancer patients may have a different view on the quality indicators (QIs) established by health care experts. We evaluated the QIs from the family members' perspective. Methods: The information used in this study was gathered by surveying family members of cancer patients who were admitted to the inpatient hospice ward in Korea. A cross-sectional anonymous questionnaire was distributed to 120 potential respondents from July to October 2009. We included 69 responses in this study (effective response rate, 57.5%). Statistical analysis was performed by using SPSS for Win ver. 14.0, with independent t-test and Pearson's chi-square test. Results: Among QIs for good hospice care, families agreed the most on "Medical examination by the palliative care team or specialist" (88.4%) and "Dying in the family's presence" (88.4%). They agreed the least on "Discussing cardiopulmonary resuscitation with patients" (15.9%). Among QIs for bad hospice care, "Occurrence of fall or pressure ulcer are undesirable" showed the highest agreement rate (94.2%). The lowest agreement rate was 11.6% on "Dying in the hospital is undesirable." In addition, women, patients who were aware of their prognoses, and people with a high socioeconomic status tended to agree more on the QIs. Conclusion: Patients' families did not agree on some of the QIs recommended by previous studies. Family members' characteristics were related to their opinions on QIs.

Current CAD systems used in the AEC community have some critical problems. One of them is that they hardly support design collaboration. Thus designers and engineers are hard to transfer design knowledge from one discipline to another. What we need is a common building database which creates and manages building plans/models and relevant design knowledge consistently and effectively. This paper presents a powerful CAD editor, called UNIFORM, which is being developed. Currently UNIFORM includes three main modules: a plan generator, a 3-D model generator, and component databases. A plan generator, called UNIFORM PLANNER, creates a plan which contains semantically-rich information of building. Each component in the plan can be presented in various ways and connected to component databases that contain knowledge of building components such as windows, doors, walls, etc. Based on the plan UNIFORM MODELER, another module of the program, generates a three dimensional building model which could be a multiple-story building. One of the main ideas behind the system is that it generates and maintains a common building form that can be easily delivered to other members of the project team. Thus it is expected to increase system integration, team interactions, and productivity.

This paper describes an approach to collaborative design which focuses on the effects of individual activities on the overall design process. We utilize a new process modeling tool to define the process and then analyze and refine the process based on critical paths. This information is then shared over the Internet with all participants. The goal of this system is to detect critical errors at initial design stage and guide the designers to make better decisions based on the knowledge of the overall process. This system enables participating designers to publish his local process through an Internet bulletin board. Other members of the team can then provide feedback based on how the proposed process impacts their activities. The system provides a context-rich, persistent forum for collecting, preserving, and refining corporate expertise of the team. For example, designers can select any process from the bulletin board and use it as a template for his current project and then use it to maintain his own design history. This paper is based on the process modeling concepts of Design Roadamap and describe several key extensions in the area of CPM calculations and collaborative interfaces.

The knowledge management starts from the enhancement of learning capability in the members of the organization. The strategic change into the learning organization should be aligned with the change of organizational strategy, structure and processes. The study employed action learning methodology to transform the traditional organization into the learning one. The learning organization project has been successful thanks to the members' zeal and consensus to change the processes. However, not every learning team has been so successful. Some cases complained time consuming where others expect to be helpful for their incentives. The researchers concluded that the most important point for success of the learning organization project should be the support of top management.
Background: Intersectoral and multidisciplinary collaboration is becoming more prominent in all facets of government, health, social services, and scientific endeavors. An interplay of a multitude of driving forces moves multiple disciplines forward to achieve quality outcomes in health and social sciences services and research. Aim: This paper aims at discussing the prospects for future multidisciplinary collaboration. If inter organizational integration and multidisciplinary collaboration are the ways of the future in academia and the scientific world, it then becomes crucial to examine what lies ahead for the nursing profession, Discussion: This paper argues that in order for multidisciplinary endeavors to succeed, the leaders in multidisciplinary teams shoulder the largest share of the responsibilities involved. In developing a lasting team constituting professionals from different disciplines, the leader needs to include the right individuals in the team, identify a common goal, build trusting relationships through open communication and interprofessional education, and empower members through creating room for autonomy and at the same time allowing space for personal development. The leader will need to utilize information technologies to manage communication issues in a large multi-site multidisciplinary project. Lastly, he or she must be able to demonstrate team productivity through process and outcome evaluation. It needs to be emphasized that it falls to each individual nurse to speak up and act upon what nursing believes and represents in our quest for success in multidisciplinary endeavors. Conclusion: The significance of the role of the leader is paramount for a team to succeed. Yet there is no prospect if only a handful of exceptional nurse leaders are moving ahead in multidisciplinary endeavors. Without the actualization of professional roles by each individual nurse, the profession will have no prospect in collaborations across disciplines.
It is well known in KM (Knowledge Management) literature that a certain amount of knowledge is necessary for KM to contribute corporate performance to some extent. However, It is considerably difficult for a company to amass knowledge due to limited time and lack of understanding from employees. In this respect, DAEWOONG, one of leading pharmaceutical company in korea, shows very special knowledge management activity, SOP(Sucess of project), by which DAEWOONG succeeds in catalyzing the knowledge sharing process among members and cultivating men of ability. Also, DAEWOONG improve working performance at an individual level as well as team level. This case will help understand how important the knowledge management activity is to improve the corporate performance.

Many studies have indicated that most of a product's cost is fixed early in its lift cycle, before the original design cycle is complete. This implies that we should consider various aspects of product lift cycle at the design stage. This means the need of collaboration in design stage. Because the Internet provides instant access to a wealth of design information, the Internet is used by the collaborative design team members as a medium to share data, information and knowledge, and in some cases for product data management and project management by integrating the Web with appropriate technologies. This paper presents a real-time collaborative design system for powerful interaction performance, based on the Internet and Web technologies. Using The system use the client/server architecture and the purpose of the system is to provide a method that enables real-time view, review and modification of the 3D model through the Internet.

The arid regions of western China are currently the focus of extensive exploration and development. This paper reports on recent experience gained by Chinese and Canadian project team members in the use of a variety of Earth observation satellite imagery for oil exploration and environmental assessment exercises in the Kuche area of Xinjiang. Through careful archival data selection and more recent data acquisition schemes, we have established several time series of MODIS, Landsat and Radarsat imagery in order to obtain a better understanding for daily, seasonal as well as decadal changes of the natural environment as well as man-made environmental features.
Domestically multicultural society is being demanded a change in recognition today into the direction of harmony from assimilation. This change in paradigm is having a proposition as understanding about mutually different cultural background. A role of cultural contents is getting important more than ever as a link of understanding and recognition between heterogeneous groups. These cultural contents can be enhanced its effect when being developed on the basis of cooperation by which the multi-cultural members themselves participate in a project, and can conform even with social significance. The purpose of this study is to analyze a project case of a multicultural contents planning team 'Arto Placo', which produced contents through cooperation between a foreigner group including marriage immigrants and a local group such as illustrator and children's book writer. Each project was indicated to be contents such as public performance, exhibition, ad APP book. The aim was to specifically examine Case Selection and Introduction, Contents's Planning Development, Assessment and Activation plan.

Many companies has led to the damage case being leaked to personal information by taking cyber attack. Also, planned hacking cases continues to increase for the purpose of acquiring monetary gain or causing social disruption induction, etc. Approximately 75% of the Web site attacks exploit the vulnerability of the application. Major security issue is to strengthen the S/W development security according to the legal basis. The members of the project team is the fact that the lack of recognition of application development security. In addition, passive response and security validation/testing, etc. throughout the SDLC to the entire area is insufficient. Therefore, rework due to the belated discovery of a defect has occurs. In this paper, we examine the case of the project step-by-step security activities by performing IT services companies. And, through this, we present security measures that can be applied to the step-wise real-world projects.
