명태 산업 중소기업의 생산성 추정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Estimation of the Pollock SMEs Productivity)

  • The aim of this study is to analyze the productivity change of pollock enterprise by applying a mutually quadratic hyperbolic model and a bootstrapping model. This study used 20 units of pollock firms data (from 2013 to 2017). As a result of total productivity analysis of twenty pollock enterprises, total factor productivity was estimated to have decreased by 24.9% over the last five years (2013~2017). The main cause of this productivity decline was analyzed by technical change. In terms of annual productivity change, it showed decrease 3.0% in 2013~2014, 7.8% in 2014~2015, 4.5% in 2015~2016 and 4.7% in 2016~2017 respectively. In the analysis of productivity by corporation type, total factor productivity showed a significant decrease in both general corporation and external corporation, and productivity decrease (-29.3%) was larger than general corporation (-23.0%). In the productivity analysis by type of business, total factor productivity decreased significantly in the order of wholesale and commodity brokerage (-26.3%), food manufacturing (-25.1%) and fisheries (-15.3%). This decrease in productivity was caused by the technological change which indicates a downward shift in the production curve that is significant in all sectors.

Analysing Productivity Change in Vietnamese Garment Industry Using Global Malmquist Index

  • Vietnam is conducting an export-led growth model and labour-intensive industries contributing majorly to the total export value. In the context of Industry 4.0, the labour-based industries are significantly affected; hence, enhancing productivity is the key measure to maintain these industries. The garment industry contributes significantly to the total export value of Vietnam. Based on meta-frontier framework, the approach of data envelopment analysis is used to measure technical efficiency of Vietnamese garment firms and the global Malmquist TFP index is utilised to identify productivity change and its components including efficiency, technology and technical gaps between different groups of firms. The data of Vietnamese garment firms from 2013 to 2018 collected from the Vietnam General Statistic Office is used in this study. The results show that: (i) The total factor productivity of Vietnamese garment firms growth, technical progress is the main contributor; (ii) The private garment sector is the leading group; (iii) There is a large technological gap among Vietnamese garment sectors. The private and FDI garment firms have experienced a growth in all components of total factor productivity change. Meanwhile, technological progress change is the main reason to constrain the productivity growth of state-owned garment firms.

Critical Factors for Container Terminal Productivity

  • The awareness of the high-value industry for container terminal leads competitiveness of container terminals to keep high fiercely. In regards to competitive factors of container terminal, the most important point among several factors is seemed to be the speed of container loading and unloading on quayside. In container terminals in Korea, the productivity shows big difference even though its condition is similar to each terminal. The objective of this paper is to find the critical factors of container terminal productivity, which is dependant upon the capability, quantity of quay crane, transfer vehicle, and so on. For this purpose, we have researched related literatures, and collected data about container terminals in South Korea. Furthermore, we tested sensitive analysis to evaluate the extent of productivity by changing independent variable. And then we established the regression model to evaluate which factor has had the biggest impact on productivity. The results of this paper can give terminal operators guideline to improve productivity.

생산성과 주가수익률의 관계에서 수익성과 활동성의 매개효과 (The Mediating Effect of Profitability and Activity on the Relationship between Productivity and Stock Return)

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to clarify the mediating effect of profitability and activity in the relationship between productivity and stock return, assuming that the productivity of the company will affect share prices with the parameters of profitability and activity. Design/methodology/approach - The study extracted productivity indicators, profitability indicators, activity indicators, and share price-related indicators from 1999 to 2018 of non-financial enterprises listed on the securities market, and then classified them into three factors: productivity (labor productivity LP, capital productivity CP), activity (TT), and profitability (net profit rate NI, operating profit ratio OI) through the factor analysis method, and analyzed the impact of each factor on the stock return through steps 1 to 3. Findings - The regression analysis shows that productivity has a significant positive effect on the stock return through the full mediating effect of profitability and activity. Research implications or Originality - In a situation where the relationship between productivity and profitability is not clear, this study is meaningful in that it has empirically analyzed that productivity has a positive effect on the stock return by mediating effects of profitability and activity.

한국의 총요소생산성 추정과 생산성 결정요인에 관한 실증연구 (Empirical Analysis on the Estimation of Total Factor Productivity and its Determinants in the Korean Manufacturing and Service Industries)

  • 본 논문은 분석기간 1975:1-2016:4에 걸쳐 한국의 제조업과 서비스업을 대상으로 확률변경 함수로서 초월대수(Translog) 생산함수를 이용하여 총요소생산성을 추정하였다. 또한 추정된 총요소생산성에 영향을 미치는 결정요소로서 산업의 구조와 특성을 반영하는 마크업, 자본탄력도 그리고 수입중간재비중을 포함하는 자기회귀시차모형을 설정하여 총요소생산성의 결정 요소탄력도를 추정하였다. 총요소생산성 증가율은 분석기간 평균값이 제조업은 0.0199 그리고 서비스업은 0.0063으로 추정되었다. 총요소생산성의 마크업탄력도는 제조업은 2.481로 양(+)의 값을 나타낸 반면 서비스업은 -1.403으로 음(-)의 수치를 보이고 있다. 자본집약도 탄력도는 제조업은 0.651 그리고 서비스업은 0.042로 추정되었다. 이러한 실증결과는 산업구조와 특성을 반영하는 마크업과 자본집약도가 제조업과 서비스업의 총요소생산성에 영향을 미치는 중요한 결정변수임을 밝히고 있다.

A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS ON EFFICIENCY AND TOTAL FACTOR PRODUCTIVITY IN CONSTRUCTION FIRMS BETWEEN KOREA AND JAPAN

  • The aim of this study is to compare efficiency and Total Factor Productivity(TFP) between Korean and Japanese construction firms in Korea and Japan over the period of 2005-2011. The results of this study are as follows. Efficiency scores of Korean construction firms are 0.797, and Japanese construction firms are 0.921. Second, annual total factor productivity growth of Korean construction firms is 0.5% and technical progress do much for TFP decrease. However Japanese construction firms marked annual increasing of 2.5% of TFP. Third, technical progress contributed in TFP increase of construction firms in Korea. Korean construction firms, however, relatively lagged behind Japanese construction firms in technical progress. Therefore, Korean construction firms need strategies to achieve technical advances including adopting new technology or process innovation to maintain competitiveness, survive, and develop in the future competition with Japan.

한국 정보통신산업의 생산성 변화에 대한 패널추정 (An Panel Estimation on Change of Productivity for Korean Information and Technology Industry)

  • 본 논문은 한국 정보통신산업의 생산성 변화를 분석하고 시사점을 도출한다. 분석방법은 11개의 한국 정보통신산업의 횡단면자료와 8개년의 시계열 데이터를 이용한 패널분석이다. 분석 결과로 전 기간에 걸쳐서 정보통신산업의 노동생산성과 자본생산성, 그리고 총요소생산성은 정(+)의 부호를 나타냈다. 정보통신산업 생산성의 변화는 먼저 총요소생산성은 2008년 이후 감소한 것으로 나타나 기술수준과 경영수준의 향상이 없었던 것으로 판단된다. 그리고 노동생산성은 증가했지만 자본생산성은 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 특히 자본생산성의 감소가 폭이 상대적으로 크다. 이러한 결과는 그동안 한국경제의 주력산업으로서 정보통신산업에 대한 양적투자의 증가에 의한 성장에도 불구하고 생산성이 개선되지 못하여 정보통신산업의 근본적인 경쟁력의 향상이 이루어지지 않았음을 의미한다.

  • The purposes of this study were to analyze the relationship between 12 independent variables and the foodservice productivity in the welfare facilities for the elderly. The results of the study were summarized as follows; 1. 67.2 percentage of surveyed welfare facilities for the elderly were not managed by dietitians, so menu planning, food purchasing, management of eqipment and facilities, sanitary practice, and management of work were administered nonsystematically. 2. From the results of factor analysis of variables related to the affecting productivity, 5 factors were generated and the factors were named ‘foodservice scale’, ‘human resourcs’, ‘use of food’, ‘use of equipment’ and ‘use of document’, and then the relation between the factor variables and productivity was examined by multiple regression anlysis.

  • The egg productivity of the chick is represented by the number of egg produced, egg weight, and sexual maturity, which are regulated by various endocrine factors. Although there were some reports that insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-Ⅰ) affected egg production, studies on any correlation between IGFs and egg productivity were not reported in poultry. The objectives of the present study were to examine the IGFs profile and egg productivity in both KNOC and laying hen (Saver) and to investigate the relationship of IGFs with egg productivity.   • Few studies on crew productivity has been conducted, although the data is significant for time and cost estimation. Crew productivity data was collected for over 9 months from a nuclear power plant and analysed in order to identify factors driving the productivity. It was revealed that the crew productivity of form work, rebar work and concrete pouring work was 45.64(㎡/crew·day), 2.93(t/crew·day), 110.25(㎡/crew·day) on average respectively. Moreover, 'nightwork', 'No. of workers per crew' and 'total work amount' were identified as drivers.
