Effective Concepts of Harmonious Management of Production Systems

  • Modern concepts of management of construction production systems require solving the problems of harmonization of the distribution of structural elements on the way to overcoming global destabilization processes. An effective ratio of functional subsystems of production in an environment of mutual influence create sustainable opportunities for production management and contribute to the logical development of the system as a whole in achieving the main goal of harmonious management. The purpose of the study is to develop the concept of effective management of production systems in construction with the harmonious formation of organizational structures. The results of the study allowed to reveal the harmonization approach in improving the interaction of structural elements of production and accelerating their functional sensitivity to changes in the environment. Harmonious production system more effectively adapts to the diversity of interests, goals and actions at all levels of management of different subsystems in any environment.

Characteristics of Media Education in Korea (한국 미디어 교육의 성격 분석 및 논의)

  • This study aimed to investigate the current status of media education in Korea by analyzing the media education cases which are being implemented in education field. Analyses were conducted on educational media, education contents, education methods, education fields, education levels, age of educated people, education cycle, school curriculum patterns and education-performing organizations. The educational media were in the rank order of vision media, new media such as internet, newspaper and movies. The education contents were mainly composed of knowledge and information about media followed by media production and media literacy. The media education was conducted in the cooperative relationships among school, society and family. For the education methods, message analysis, media monitor education, media production and media in education were dominantly used. Elementary school students were found to be the main target of media education, while there was no media education for pre-school children. Current media educations in school were being performed using club activity, creative activity, talent-raising education after school and regular class.

Promoting Video Education through Facilitating and Suggesting Educational Policies

  • Video is already playing an educational role. Now, it is necessary to discuss the issue of the effectiveness of video education in schools. Facilitation is a great means of maximizing learning effects beyond the creativity and autonomy of video production. To prove this, a research study was conducted, and the results showed that facilitation had a significant effect on the learning effect. Based on this result, various policy suggestions such as the introduction of facilitation in the educational field are made.

Analysis of materials for sexual education in Korea (국내 성교육자료 개발에 대한 분석)

  • We would like to identify the current status and the problem of the material for sexual education in Korea by analyzing the contents and the subjects of the materials. The 274 materials were collected from 80 institutes from March 1999 to June 1999. The collected ones were analyzed according to title. year of production. producer. subjects of materials and contents. Also, the materials in the internet was searched. Result were summarized by the descriptive statistics with SPSS/PC as followings: Type of materials were video tape (155), books (70), projection slides (43) and CD-ROM (6); Number of production from each institute were 54 from Planned Parenthood Federation of Korea, 39 from Korea Broadcasting System. 23 from Seoul School Health Center. 22 from Seoul Education and Science Research Institute, 16 from Korea Sexual Violence Relief Center, 13 from Republic of Korean National Redcross. and 10 from Korea Educational Development Institute; Subjects of the materials were middle and high school children (55), teachers (35), primary schoolchildren (17) and adult (14), preschool children (5). One hundred forty eight materials did not indicate the specific subjects; Thirty institutes had been providing the information for sexual education and the counseling. According to the above results. we suggest the followings: The systematic development of materials for sexual education appropriate to the specific subjects should be done: Materials in the CD-ROM and internet homepage should be developed more and more; The evaluation tool should be developed and adapted to the materials for the recommendation of the good materials; Database of the sexual materials should be provided for further development, evaluation and utilization.

The SMEs' Innovation Capacity, Standardization Education, and Performance: Empirical Evidence from the ICT and Electronics Industries (중소기업의 혁신역량, 표준화 교육활동 및 혁신성과의 관계: 정보통신 및 전기전자 산업을 중심으로)

  • This study investigates the relationships among SMEs' innovation capacity, standardization education activities, and performances. Employing about 900 SMEs in the ICT and electronics electricity industries, this study used regression analysis and examined the effects of standardization education activities on performance and the moderating effect of innovation capacity. The results indicate that standardization education activities positively affect SMEs' production and quality improvement and R&D activity improvement. The results also show that R&D investment ratio moderates the relationship between standardization education and production and quality improvement. This study provides practical insight into why firm managers should pay attention to standardization education and innvation capacity to improve firm performance.

  • As global competition has become keener, importance of standardization has increased due to international trade between firms and countries. Since standardization provide compatibility for parts or products, maintaining a good level of standardization is one of key success factors. This paper studies impact of standardization status and educational effort of standardization on performance of the firm. Also, characteristics of the firm, industry, history, acknowledge of need for education of standardization of the firm are considered as antecedents of standardization status and educational effort on standardization. Data was collected from information and technology and electronics industries. This paper found that characteristics of the firm and acknowledge of need for education on standardization have positive impact on the number of education on standardization. Results of this study also show that the number of education classes and of employees participated in the class positively affect R&D performance and production and quality improvement. Implication of this study is finding the relationship between importance of standardization education and competitiveness of the firm in global market.

  • Due to the development of online media platforms and the COVID-19 incident, the mass production and consumption of digital video content are rapidly increasing. In order to select digital video content, users grasp it in a short time through thumbnails and teaser videos, and select and watch digital video content that suits them. It is very inconvenient to check all digital video contents produced around the world one by one and manually edit teaser videos for users to choose from. In this paper, keyframes are extracted based on YCbCr color models to automatically generate teaser videos, and keyframes extracted through clustering are optimized. Finally, we present a method of producing a teaser video to help users check digital video content by connecting the finally extracted keyframes.

A Study on the Improvement of Production of the Manufacturing Industries

  • This study objectively in examines materials related to factory rationalization of D Corp., a regionally based enterprise. One reason that previous factory rationalizations have not been all that effective is that each firm has not used strategies specially designed for it Despite the fact that each firm has a different culture, and different human and physical resources, the application of rationalization without any modifications has produced many problems. In order to stabilize the production system and reduce the capacity of the factory, D Corp. changed the basic 5 S's and stimulated the factory atmosphere through computer education. Rationalization stabilized and standardized the factory, and organized the physical resources and each area of the factory according to their place in the process of production. It also made improvements that verified the party responsible for the flow of the complex production system, and simplified analysis supervision of production, and ex post management. We think that the successful example of D Corp. can serve as a real, tangible model for small and medium regionally-based firms to follow.

Operational Characteristics of Wind Turbine Generator Systems in Hangwon Wind Farm (행원 풍력발전단지에서 풍력발전시스템의 운전특성)

  • This paper reveals both the operational situation and the cause of the error occurred in wind turbine generator system of Hangwon wind farm in Jeju island. The four wind turbines were selected for this work, and the monitored period was for six months. Wind resource in the wind farm was analyzed, and the estimated energy production was compared with the actual energy production. As a result, with a decrease of system error, the estimated energy production was in good agreement with the actual energy production. The errors occurring in components such as gearbox and hydraulic motor affected the Availability of the wind turbine. Also, poor external conditions such as a strong wind, lightning and gust caused a standstill of wind turbines.

Effect of Heat Treatment and Platinum Loading on CdS Particles in the Photocatalytic Alanine Synthesis

  • The photocatalytic alanine and hydrogen production reaction were studied by using CdS as a semiconductor photocatalysts. The rate of alanine and hydrogen production depends strongly on the temperature in heat treatment of CdS powder. In particular, the rate of alanine production, which was observed using Pt/CdS(A)-(CdS from Mitsuwa), was increased about six times than that of using Pt/CdS(B)-(CdS from Furruchi) under the same heat treatment condition at 500$^{\circ}$C. And the photocatalytic activity for alanine production using bare CdS(A) or Pt/CdS(A) was almost same with increasing temperature in heat treatment in the range of 100-600$^{\circ}$C. From X-ray diffraction data and photoluminescence spectrum, we conclude that the crystal structure changes of CdS(A) or strong interaction at interface of Pt and CdS contribute to increasing the rate of alanine and hydrogen production reaction.
