  • Recently, a multi-facility, multi-product and multi-period industrial production-distribution planning problem has been widely investigated in Supply Chain Management (SCM). One of the key issues in the current SCM research area involves reducing both production and distribution costs. We have developed an optimization model to tackle the above problems under the restricted conditions such as transportation time and a zero inventory. Computational experiments using commercial tool Ms-Excel Solver show that the real size problems we encountered can be solved in reasonable time. The model can be used to decide an appropriate production-distribution planning problem in SCM research area.

  • A deterministic capacity expansion planning model for a two-capacity type facility is analyzed to determine the sizes to be expanded in each period so as to supply the known demands for two distinct capacity type(product) on time and to minimize the total cost incurred over a finite planning horizon of T periods. The model assumes that capacity unit of the facility simultaneously serves a prespecified number of demand units of each capacity type, that capacity type 1 can be used to supply demands for capacity type 2, but that capacity type 2 can't be used to supply demands for capacity type 1. Capacity expansion and excess capacity holding cost functions considered are nondecreasing and concave. The structure of an optimal solution is characterized and then used in developing an efficient dynamic programming algorithm that finds optimal capacity planning policy.

  • The purpose of this study is to consider models for the production planning of multiproduct. Because these multiproducts use common facilities, labor, and materials, they are able to be considered jointly instead of planned independently. Initially linear programming models will be considered, followed by some examples of modeling and analysis when the cost structure is nonlinear. Basic model components are the following ; (1) inventory balance equations for each product to link successive time periods, and (2) capacity constraints for each period to represent resource limitations.

  • In order to ensure revenue of agricultural products which have encountered the dramatic decline of prices in distribution, the export of the domestic farm produce was started and it has been considered to play the significant role to make fundamentals for securing the stable revenue of farms and future of agricultural industries. The Korean government has endeavored to increase scale and volume of export and make the stable structure for export transaction by supporting government policies. Since the export of the agricultural products was influenced by multiple and uncertain factors such as the gap of GDP, distance, the difference of climatess between countries, in this study of agricultural exports, the attributes of export according to changed factors are derived by using RCA and gravity model. As the complexity of export environment has been increased compared to the past, it is necessary to analyze the attributes of agricultural exports. In this study, by using network theory, trade network of agricultural product, the periodic changes of relations, the changes of centrality and maxium flow are derived. Even though the trade quantity of existing agricultural fresh products are still small, the study derived the need to vertical integration for expanding agricultural product export by applying network theory.

  • The purpose of this study were 1) to analyze customer relationship management(CRM) based on the online customer experiences by product types (i.e., men's, women's, casual, sports wear), 2) to analyze CRM based on the off-line customer experiences by product type, and 3) to examine customer purchase behavior of fashion products and internet usage behavior by product types. Survey and 1:1 interview were conducted from January 13th to May 16th, 2005. Six consumers from each brand (i.e., 3 loyal customers and 3 general customers) in a total of 24 customers were selected from each product type. For the data analysis, content analysis and descriptive statistics (i.e. frequency) were used. Among the key study findings first, as a result of the on-line CRM experience, the customers of men's wear preferred receiving customized information through e-mail or SMS service. The customers of sports wear preferred receiving a different level of information and participating in customized product service. Second, as a result of the off-line CRM experience, the customers of men's wear need to be encouraged to join a membership at a sales encounter and the customers of women's wear preferred receiving quick information of new products and participating in a design development planning of the merchandising process. Third, the purchasing behavior of the customers of women's wear are influenced mostly by the salesperson and the store atmosphere when they purchase clothes and the customers of men's wear are price-sensitive. The results of this study can be used when fashion brands perform strategic planning and decision making on CRM.

This paper advances according to the following sequences: 1. Literature survey 2. Field research on actual "apparel vendors" and production factories 3. Investigating the requirements relating to the worksheet 4. Developing standard format of the worksheet 5. Effectiveness analysis on the standard worksheet 6. Proposal of an intelligent model applying standard worksheet system. This study is performed with the following research methods; those are questionnaire surveys, statistical analysis, interviews, collecting & analyzing worksheets, product sample quality experiment, functional analysis of the system, and materialization of the prototype system. The significance of this research is that it suggests the possible effective use of worksheet, which reflects the customers' needs in terms of the product quality, at the stage of the product planning process. Despite its importance, the current work structure does not visibly reflect these components. Therefore, with the result of this research, it is considered that the worksheet systems will meet more useful improvements in risk management process. The limitations of this research are as follows. Although it is evident that the standard worksheets bring effective results in quality improvements of products, considerations must be made onto some additional payoffs arising from the additional cost of necessary labor forces with expert knowledge and cost of the effort and time inputting correct information for running the system.
