Structure of a DNA Duplex Containing a Site-Specific Dewar Isomer: Structural Influence of the 3'-T.G base pair of the Dewar product.

  • In contrast to the pyrimidine (6-4)pyrimidone photoproduct [(6-4) adduct], its Dewar valence isomer (Dewar product) is low mutagenic and produces a broad range of mutations with a 42 % replicating error frequency. In order to determine the origin of the mutagenic property of the Dewar product, we used experimental NMR restraints and molecular dynamics to determine the solution structure of a Dewar·lesion DNA decamer duplex, which contains a mismatched base pair between the 3'-T residue and an opposed G residue. The 3'-T of the Dewar lesion forms stable hydrogen bonds with the opposite G residue. The helical bending and unwinding angles of the DW/GA duplex, however, are much higher than those of the DW/AA duplex. The stable hydrogen bonding of the G 15 residue does not increase the thermal stability of the overall helix. It also does not restore the distorted backbone conformation of the DNA helix that is caused by the forming of a Dewar lesion. These structural features implicate that no thermal stability, or conformational benefits of G over A opposite the 3'-T of the Dewar lesion, facilitate the preferential incorporation of an A. This is in accordance with the A rule during translesion replication and leads to the low frequent $3'-T{\rightarrow}C$ mutation at this site.

THE INTEGRATION OF CAD/CAM/CAE BASED ON MULTI MODEL TECHNOLOGY IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF CYLINDER HEAD

  • The integration of CAD/CAM/CAE in product development is the key to realize concurrent engineering. Generally, different systems are employed in product development departments. These different systems create a lot of trout)toes such as difficulty in communication, misunderstanding and so on. A new approach to integrate CAD/CAM/CAE in one system based on CATIA thor the end-to-end process in cylinder head development is presented. Hulti Model Technology (MMT) is used to create consistent and associated CAD models for the end-to-end process in cylinder head development. The concept and method to create and organize multi models are discussed. A typical four-layer structure of HHT for mechanical products is defined. The multi level structure of the cylinder head models based on MMT is provided. The CAD models of cylinder head created based on MMT can be used as the consistent model. All models in the downstream of cylinder head development such as structure analysis, CFD, sand core design , casting simulation and so oil are associated with the CAD models. Practice shows the approach in this paper enables the development process to be carried concurrently and can obviously shorten time to the market, reduce product cost and improve product quality.

  • 제품수명주기(Product life cycle) 중 설계단계에서 생성되는 3차원 CAD 데이터를 다양한 단계에서 활용하고자하는 노력이 관련 산업 분야에서 이루어져 왔다. 그러나 3차원 CAD 데이터는 데이터 처리를 위한 많은 컴퓨팅 자원을 요구하고 설계지식이 유출될 수 있는 위험이 있으며, 라이선스 비용이 따르기 때문에 원격지 협업 검토나 마케팅, 전자 기술 매뉴얼과 같은 서비스단계에서 활용하기에 적합하지 않다. 이러한 문제점들을 해결하기 위해 경량화된 가시화 파일형식과 이를 적용한 응용시스템에 대한 다양한 연구가 수행되었으나, 제안된 경량화 파일형식들은 대부분 기업 혹은 기관의 독자적인 형식으로 서로 간에 공유될 수 없으며, 제품의 형상 정보와 함께 제품구조 정보를 표현하는데 한계점을 보이고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이를 해결하기 위하여 웹 기반 3차원 그래픽 표준인 X3D를 활용하여 제품의 형상 정보뿐만 아니라 구조 정보의 표현이 가능한 X3D 기반 데이터 집합인 prod-X3D(Enhanced X3D Dataset for Web-based Visualization of 3D CAD Product Model)를 정의하고, 3차원 CAD 데이터로부터의 변환 기법을 제안한다.

선박 의장 BOM을 Lifecycle을 고려한 BOM 통합 방안 연구 (Integration of Ship Outfitting BOM with Lifecycle Stages)

  • Generally, BOM (Bill of Material) means a part list which is needed to manufacture or assemble a product or part. During manufacturing processes, BOM is inevitably required for most of enterprise processes such as design, procurement, production planning/control, resource planning, and financial works. Every manufacturing industry uses many kinds of BOM's that are adjusted to the requirement of functions of their work division. Moreover, BOM evolves in different forms according to the product development phases such as conceptual design; function design, detail design, and production design because it is necessary to use different product structures to keep product data generated throughout the lifecycle of a product. This includes all data and information related to the all the product development phases. Shipbuilding works also are processed and controlled based on BOM. However, effective maintenance of ship outfitting BOM data is getting difficult as the amount and complexity of data have increased due to variety and long lifecycle of ship. For the effective management of outfitting BOM data, two aspects must be considered. One is how to classify numerous BOMs type and the others how to display BOMs. So this study suggests a method to classify BOM types and propose two categories - Structure BOM, Display BOM. Base on this result, we propose the integrated ship outfitting BOMs model and analysis outfitting BOMs.

미세 성형 부품의 성형 공정 해석 및 실험 (A Experimental Study and FE Analysis of the Forming Process with Milli-Component Forming)

  • Milli-structure components are classified as a component group whose size is between macro and micro scales, that is, about less than 20mm and larger than 1mm. The forming of these components has a typical phenomenon of bulk deformation with thin sheets because of the forming size. In this study, milli-structure rectangular cup drawing is analyzed and measured using the finite element method and experiment. Generally, milli-structure containers or cases like cellular phone vibrator consist of rectangular-shaped drawing to save installation space. A systematic approach is established for the design and the experiment of the forming processes for rectangular milli-structure cases. To verify the simulation results, the experimental investigations were also carried out on a real industrial product. The numerical analysis by FEM shows good agreement with the experimental results in view of the deformation shape of the product.

  • Most product structural components are assembled by various members and castings except casting products. In such cases, a particular structure is required to move and fix each component. In particular, the safety uncertainty of heavy product assemblies can be linked to large accidents. Thus, the safety design and evaluation of additional structures have become more important. In the field and factories, these additional structures are called handling structures, which are designed and manufactured. As the types of products produced become more diverse, the design and manufacture of a handling structure are also diversified. The results of each evaluation should be derived. We develop a logical design and evaluation method, which was previously designed based on empirical data, for the handling structure.

  • Micro-stereolithography is a newly proposed technology as a means that can fabricate a 3D micro structure of free form. It makes a 3D micro-structure by dividing the shape into many slices of relevant thickness along horizontal surfaces, hardening each layer of slice with a focused laser beam, and stacking them up to a desired shape. However, we do not anticipate the electric conductivity of the final product at the existing micro-stereolithography. The reason is that this technology uses polymer to make the product. Thus the new suspension which was mixed conventional photopolymer with metal powder was developed in this study. The developed suspensions were based on SL5180 which is commercialized resin and IMS03 that is made in our laboratory. And Triton X-100 was added at the suspension for getting the scattering effect and stabilizing effect. The layer recoating device was developed to be flat the mixed high viscosity suspension. A 3D micro structure was manufactured by using recoating system and micro-stereolithography system. The fabricated product was sintered to get the electric conductivity. After sintering, a pure copper product was made. In this study, new process was developed by making metal micro structure having an electric conductivity. This technology broadened the realm of the micro-stereolithography technology. And it will be applied to make the 3D micro structure of free form which has a high hardness and an electric conductivity in the near future.

The Camellia sinensis Inhalation Effects of Pulmonary Structure Protection and Anti-oxidants Enzyme from Cigarette Smoking

  • Cigarette smoke causes atypical structure of pulmonary and oxidative damage. Therefore, we carried out to determine if exposure to cigarette smoke alters pulmonary structure and anti-oxidant related enzyme in a animal model, when natural product extracts using by Nebulizer. The rat were divided into four groups: $H_2O-treated$ (Control), natural product (Camellia sinensis) extracts-treated (CS), natural product extracts-treated with cigarette smoke-exposed (CS+SM) and cigarette smoke-expose (SM). All groups are similar to Control group in weight, but SM group is lower than the other groups. Microscopic image of the pulmonary structure in SM group showed deleterious alterations in the morphology, but the other groups are maintained in normal structure. In anti-oxidant related enzymes, SOD (superoxide dismutase) and catalase, SM group represents the lowest enzyme activity among all groups. But G6PD (glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase) and LPO (lipid peroxidation) is SM group represents the highest enzyme activity among all groups. These result indicate that the natural product extracts is an efficient tissue protective substance against smoke-induced lung injury.

제품의 구성 부품들을 통합시키기 위한 분석 방법 (Analysis Method for Integrating Components of Product)

  • 본 논문에서는 제품을 구성하는 부품들을 통합시키기 위한 방법을 제안하였다. 제품을 구성하는 부품들의 관계를 분석하기 위하여 '관계기능'과 '관계기능구조'라는 새로운 개념을 도입하였다. 관계기능은 세 가지의 정보를 갖고 있으며 이것으로부터 관계기능구조를 정립할 수 있다. 정립된 관계기능구조를 부품 통합가능성의 관점에서 분석하기 위한 분석기준을 정립하고 제시하였다. 이 분석기준에 의하여 구성부품들이 통합될 수 있는 우선순위가 결정된다. 분석기준은 관계기능의 개수와 방향성, 직간접성의 세가지로 구분된다. 또한 본 논문에서는 부품통합을 위한 설계 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 이 알고리즘을 실제 제품에 적용하여 구성부품이 통합된 새로운 제품 개념안(design concept)을 도출하였다. 제시된 알고리즘을 이용하여 자전거용 브레이크 디스크 결합방식과 삼공천공기를 개선하기 위한 연구를 진행하였다. 그 결과 실제로 존재하는 개선된 제품과 유사한 관계기능구조가 만들어질 수 있음을 확인하였다.
