가변 단면 성형 롤의 반경 증가에 의한 롤 간섭 제거 (Elimination of Roll Interference by Increasing Radius of Variable Section Forming Roll)

  • In this study, we investigated whether the interference occurring in forming roll surfaces could be eliminated by increasing the radius of the variable section forming rolls. The surfaces of the rolls capable of forming products with different flange heights and bend angles with the bend line tilted at an angle of 1° from the longitudinal axis were created using the general CAD software CATIA. Roll interferences were determined for the change in the forming roll radius. The minimum gaps between the upper and lower roll surfaces were measured for the change in the forming roll radius, and the roll interferences were calculated from the difference between the measured value and the thickness of the product. It was observed that the thickness of the product had a slight effect on the roll interference when the thickness was between 0.8 and 1.2 mm. It was also observed that the roll interference could be eliminated by increasing the roll radius.

  • 복제 및 소유(Clone-and-own) 재사용은 기존의 소프트웨어 제품을 복사하고 수정하여 새로운 소프트웨어를 개발하는 방법이다. 복제 및 소유 재사용으로 개발된 레거시 소프트웨어 제품군은 일반적으로 리팩토링 없이 패치 업 되고 구조적으로 저하되기 때문에 높은 유지보수 비용을 필요로 하고 오류가 발생하기 쉬운 경향이 있다. 기존에 복제 및 소유 재사용 방법을 사용했던 많은 회사들이 이러한 문제를 해결하고 소프트웨어 자산을 더 체계적으로 재사용하고 관리하기 위하여 레거시 제품들을 소프트웨어 제품라인으로 전환하려고 하고 있다. 하지만 대부분의 기존 방법들은 가변점(Variation points)을 디자인과 코드로부터 분리해서 모델링하고 관리하지 않고 디자인과 코드에 바로 임베드시킨다. 즉, 가변점이 가변성 모델을 기반으로 체계적으로 생성되고 관리되지 않는다. 이러한 기존 방법들은 다음의 문제를 야기한다. 기존 방법에서는 가변점 간 관계를 이해하기가 어렵기 때문에 가변점이 임베드 된 코드를 유지보수하기가 어렵고 코드가 변경 및 진화될 때 오류가 생기기 쉽다. 또한 소프트웨어 제품라인이 진화할 때 디자인/코드 자산이 적합한 리팩토링을 적용하여 체계적으로 변경되는 것이 아니라, 애드 혹(Ad-hoc) 방식으로 직접적으로 변경되는 경향이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 레거시 어플리케이션 제품군으로부터 소프트웨어 제품라인 자산을 구축하는 휘처 기반의 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법에서는 가변점과 가변점 간 관계를 식별하고 이들을 구현으로부터 분리하여 휘처 모델로 모델링한다. 그리고 휘처 모델을 기반으로 레거시 어플리케이션으로부터 소프트웨어 제품라인 자산을 추출하고 관리한다. 제안하는 방법을 레거시 Notepad++ 제품군에 적용을 하여 방법의 실행가능성을 검증하였다.

Quantitative Analysis of a Steel Billet Surface Flaw Detection System by Means of a Finite Element Method

  • The surface inspection of a steel billet is a common practice in the steel manufacturing process prior to hot rolling to produce steel wire for tire cord. This billet surface inspection is an important process because flaws on the surface may cause major failures during the product manufacturing phase. This paper presents a computer simulation based on a finite element method for a magnetic flaw detector with a function of the current intensity, the number of coil turns, and the billet proceeding speed during the production phase based on the typical condition of conventional apparatus. Based on the simulation result, the magnitude of the electromagnetic field on the surface diminished with distance from the electromagnet. In addition, the increased current intensity and the increased number of coil turns actually induced a stronger electromagnetic field on the billet surface. On the other hand, the proceeding speed of a billet in its production line had no significant effects. The result in this study may assist to reduce trial and error and to minimize the opportunity costs during the optimization process by applying the findings of this study into the operation condition in the steel billet production line.

  • Drilling is one of the most important operations in machining industry and usually the most efficient and economical method of cutting a hole in metal. From automobile parts to aircraft components, almost every manufactured product requires that holes are to be drilled for the purpose of assembly, creation of fluid passages, and so on. It is therefore desirable to monitor drill wear and hole quality changes during the hole drilling process. One important aspect in controlling the drilling process is monitoring drill wear status. A drill-wear monitoring system provides information about drill status. With the information, optimum planning for tool change is possible. And drill-wear monitoring system in needed to evaluated drilled hole quality and the wear of drill. Accordingly, this paper deals with an on-line drill wear monitoring system of the detection of tool wear with the computer vision and the area of the drill flank wear is analyzed quantitatively by the system.

  • The threats around Korea Peninsula have been dramatically increased because North Korea is developing the Nuclear ballistic missile, Submarine launched ballistic missile(SLBM), and many kinds of weapons for sudden provocations. Therefore, ROK navy needs the cutting-edge warship combat systems in order to defeat the enemy threats effectively in the sea. The paper analyzes current warship combat system acquisition process and studies US navy and other advanced countries acquisition process and their contraction trends. After that, the paper proposes the optimal acquisition process of warship combat system for the ROK navy based on our current situation and other advanced countries acquisition trends. The paper will dedicate the next generation warship combat system acquisition process.

컴포넌트 프레임워크 설계를 위한 실용적인 커넥터 패턴 (Practical Connector Patterns for Designing Component Frameworks)

  • 학계와 산업계 모두 효율적인 재사용 기술인 Component-based Development(CBD)로의 전환을 받아들이고 있다. Product Line Engineering(PLE)에서의 컴포넌트 프레임워크는 컴포넌트, 커넥터와 그들의 시멘틱(Semantic)들의 집합으로 구성된다. 단순한 컴포넌트 조립 보다 반 완성 어플리케이션인 컴포넌트 프레임워크가 재사용의 잠재력이 더 크다. 그러나, 어플리케이션 개발을 위해 여러 업체에서 획득된 COTS 컴포넌트들의 연관관계, 의존관계가 서로 완벽하게 일치하지 않아, 컴포넌트 조립이나 컴포넌트 대체시 구현을 변경해야 하는 문제가 발생된다. 그러므로 커넥터는 관련된 컴포넌트들간의 상호작용 관리뿐만 아니라, 조립될 수 없는 컴포넌트들간의 문제를 보완하여 연결한다. 아직 실용적으로 사용할 수 있는 커넥터에 관한 연구 및 구체적인 해결 방안이 미흡하다. 본 논문에서는 커넥터를 정의 하기 위한 메타모델을 제시하고, 커넥터를 실용적으로 설계하고 구현할 수 있는 5개의 주요 패턴을 제시한다. 제시된 주요패턴들은 설계 지침 및 문제 해결방안을 제공하여 이를 통해 컴포넌트 프레임워크 기반의 실용적이고 효율적인 커넥터를 구성할 수 있도록 한다. 또한, 주요 커넥터 패턴의 적용 기법 및 구현을 통한 적용 사례를 제시하여 컴포넌트의 활용성과 재사용성이 증가됨을 보인다.

  • 우리는 소프트웨어 제품라인 개발 방법론인 FORM을 지원하기 위해 과거 AWT기반의 자바 어플리케이션으로 개발된 ASADAL의 동작 속도의 개선, 기능 추가, 그리고 좀 더 친숙한 사용자 인터페이스로의 개선이 필요했기 때문에 이클립스 플랫폼 기반의 플러그-인 어플리케이션으로 리엔지니어링을 진행해야 했다. 본 논문에서는 새로운 플러그-인 어플리케이션을 최소의 노력으로 개발하고 좀 더 빨리 배포하기 위해서 기 개발된 어플리케이션의 많은 부분을 재사용 할 수 있도록 리엔지니어링 과정에서 고려해야 할 세 가지 요소인 기 개발된 어플리케이션의 사용자 인터페이스 재사용 범위, 어플리케이션을 구성할 플러그-인들의 구성, 그리고 이후의 손쉬운 확장 및 기능 대체를 위한 플러그-인들 사이의 결합에 대해서 언급하고 각 요소에 대해서 사용한 방법 및 지침들을 소개한다. 그리고 ASADAL의 휘처모델 편집기와 행위모델 편집기의 리엔지니어링 사례를 들어 제시한 지침을 적용하여 개발한 플러그-인을 소개한다.

굽힘 및 피어싱 공정을 갖는 불규칙형상 제품의 프로그레시브 가공을 위한 네스팅 및 공정설계 자동화 시스템 (An Automated Nesting and Process Planning System of Irregularly Shaped-Sheet Metal Product With Bending and Piercing Operation for Progressive Working)

  • This paper describes a research work of developing a computer-aided design of irregularly shaped-sheet metal product with bending and piercing operation for progressive working. An approach to the CAD system is based on the knowledge-based rules. Knowledge for the CAD system is formulated from plasticity theories, experimental results and the empirical knowledge of field experts. The system has been written in AutoLISP on the AutoCAD with a personal computer and is composed of five main modules, which are input and shape treatment, flat pattern-layout, production feasibility check, blank-layout, and strip-layout module. Based on knowledge-based rules, the system is designed by considering several factors, such as radius and angle of bend, material and thickness of product, complexities of blank geometry and punch profile, and availability of press. This system is capable of unfolding a formed sheet metal part to give flat pattern and automatically account for the adjustment of bend allowances to match tooling requirements by checking dimensions and the best utilization ratio of blank-layout within bending production feasibility area which is beyond ${\pm}30^{\circ}$ degrees intersecting angle between grain flow and bending edge line and which is suitable to progressive bending operation. Also the strip-layout drawing generated by a bending and a piercing operation according to punch profiles divided into automatically for external area of irregularly shaped-sheet metal product is displayed in graphic forms.

위치모수를 이용한 로버스트 CV 관리도의 설계 (Design of the Robust CV Control Chart using Location Parameter)

  • Recently, the production cycle in manufacturing process has been getting shorter and different types of product have been produced in the same process line. In this case, the control chart using coefficient of variation would be applicable to the process. The theory that random variables are located in the three times distance of the deviation from mean value is applicable to the control chart that monitor the process in the manufacturing line, when the data of process are changed by the type of normal distribution. It is possible to apply to the control chart of coefficient of variation too. ${\bar{x}}$, s estimates that taken in the coefficient of variation have just used all of the data, but the upper control limit, center line and lower control limit have been settled by the effect of abnormal values, so this control chart could be in trouble of detection ability of the assignable value. The purpose of this study was to present the robust control chart than coefficient of variation control chart in the normal process. To perform this research, the location parameter, ${\bar{x_{\alpha}}}$, $s_{\alpha}$ were used. The robust control chart was named Tim-CV control chart. The result of simulation were summarized as follows; First, P values, the probability to get away from control limit, in Trim-CV control chart were larger than CV control chart in the normal process. Second, ARL values, average run length, in Trim-CV control chart were smaller than CV control chart in the normal process. Particularly, the difference of performance of two control charts was so sure when the change of the process was getting to bigger. Therefore, the Trim-CV control chart proposed in this paper would be more efficient tool than CV control chart in small quantity batch production.

  • In this paper to cope with the reduction of products life-cycle as the variety of products along with the various demands of consumers, a virtual simulator is developed to make the changeover of manufacturing line efficient to embody a virtual simulation similar to a real manufacturing line. The developed virtual simulator can design a layout of a factory and make the time scheduling. Every factory has one simulator so that one product can be manufactured in the factories to use them as virtual factories. We suggest a scheme that heightens the agility to the diversity of manufacturing models by making the information of manufacturing lines and products models to be shared. The developed unit simulator can construct a proper virtual manufacturing line along with the required process of products using several kinds of operator and work cell. A user with the simulator can utilize an interface that makes one to manage the separate task process for each manu(acturing module, change operator components and work cells, and easily teach tasks of each task module. The developed simulator was made for users convenience by Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 that can develop a program supplying graphic user interface environment and by OpenGL of the Silicon Graphics as a graphic library to embody 3D graphic environment. Also, we show that the simulator can be used efficiently for the agile manufacturing by the communication among the factories being linked by TCP/IP and a hybrid database system made by a hierarchical model and a relational model being developed to standardize the data information.
