This study investigates the changes inconsumer sensibility and product preferences according to theirecofriendly productperceptions. Stimulants (released by three companies of sport casual brands)include three shirts made of recycled polyester and three made of organic cotton. A surveymethod was used to respond to the emotion and image while watching the presented pictures of the clothes. The change in the reactions was analyzed before and after the presentation of eco-friendliness information. The questionnaire consists of sensibility adjectives, open-ended questions about the associated image of eco-friendliness, color attractiveness, product favorability, price satisfaction, and reasons for an eco-friendly productpurchase. The survey was conducted on 200adult male and female participants. Two factors ('eco' and 'design')were identifiedthrough the factor analysis of image adjectives. There was a statistically significant increase in the evaluation of sensibility, color attractiveness, product favorability, and price satisfactiondue to the re-evaluation of the same products after consumers recognized the eco-friendly information of apparel products. When consumers recognize products aseco-friendly, they evaluate the products more positively than before. The result of the analysis of the increases by textile materials shows no significant difference in the sensibility changes depending on the materials. However, with regard to 'eco', the increase of sensibility change for organic cotton products was larger than for recycled polyester products.

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of the gloss of a product's packaging on purchase intention and the mediating role of perceived corporate eco-friendliness and perceived quality in food area. The participants were randomly assigned to product package condition (glossy vs. matte) and after observing ketchup and potato chips, they responded to questions on about perceived corporate eco-friendliness, perceived quality, and purchase intention. The participants reported their opinion that companies that manufactured matte package products would likely use more organic ingredients and would be more eco-friendly than companies that manufactured glossy package products. The more the participants perceived a company to be eco-friendly, the better they evaluated the company's product quality and the higher their purchase intention. This study has theoretical and practical implications, in that it extends the study of the product package in relation to its effect on corporate image, and it proposes a practical use of matte product package for improving the eco-friendly image of the company. Limitations and further research were also discussed.

Life-cycle assessment (LCA) is often employed to quantify the environmental impact of a product in a comprehensive manner. The aspects of performance and usability as well as that of eco-friendliness should be considered in an integrated manner for the market competitiveness of an eco-friendly product. The present study developed a product improvement plan for an eco-friendly electric heater by benchmarking two small-size electric heaters (companies 'H' and 'T') in terms of performance, usability, and eco-friendliness. The performance measurements such as temperature, humidity, wind speed, noise, and power consumption were collected while the two heaters were operated in a laboratory setting. Then, the usability evaluations such as aesthetics, operation satisfaction, performance satisfaction, and overall satisfaction were surveyed for the two heaters using a 5-point scale (1 for very unsatisfied and 5 for very satisfied). Lastly, the LCA analysis was conducted by following the six-step process of eco-friendly product design provided by KEITI. The analysis results of the two products being integrated with the aspects of product, service, and user, four design improvement directions such as eco-efficient, smart, modularized, and user-support were recommended for an eco-friendly electric heater. These proposed concepts would be useful to develop an eco-friendly electric heater design with a high level of market competitiveness.
Purpose - As recently social contributions of firms are positioned as key strategic actions, it is demanding to review the effects of social contributions on overall corporate management. The research aims to effects of social contributions on social values and word of mouth in firm level and product level. Further roles of consumer identification with firm and product eco-friendliness are also analyzed. Research design, data, and methodology - The paper conducted a survey in which two scenarios are used for manipulating the degree of corporate social contributions. The survey sample consist of 165 undergraduate and graduate students in a university, located in Seoul. For analyzing data, analysis of variance is applied, in conjunction with analysis of moderating effects, through version 23 of SPSS statistical package. Results - In the firm level, social contributions by firms have a positive effect on social values of firms. Consumer identification showed a moderating role in the effect. Social value of the firm with passive social contribution perceived by respondents with a high degree of identification was higher than social value of the firm with active social contribution perceived by respondents with a low degree of identification. Corporate social value has positive effect on word-of-mouth of firms. In the product level, social contributions by firms has a positive effect on social values of product. Product eco-friendliness showed a moderating role in the effect. For eco-friendly product, social values are higher in the firm with active social contributions than in the firm with passive social contributions. However, for non eco-friendly product, the difference in social values between the two firms does not exist. Product social values has positive effect on intention for WOM of products. WOM of eco-friendly products with low social value showed no difference with WOM of non eco-friendly products with high social value. Conclusions - These results imply that firms should enhance consumer identification with firm in making social contributions for optimizing corporate social value and enhancing word-of-mouth(WOM). Managerial implications of the results suggest it would be more effective to improve social value of product by active social contributions for increasing word-of-mouth(WOM) of product.
Purpose: This study is designed to grasp how consumers' beliefs about the lunch box attributes such as healthiness, diversity, price, hygiene, and package eco-friendliness affect consumers' perceived value and purchasing behavior. Research design, data, and methodology: The data were collected from 615 respondents composed of men and women aged 20 to 59 who purchased lunch box products and were sampled using the quota sampling method. An online survey was conducted. The data were analyzed using the measurement model and structural equation model assessment with SPSS 24 and SmartPLS 4.0. Results: First, healthiness, diversity, hygiene, and the price had a significant positive effect on the perceived functional value of consumers, but package eco-friendliness did not significantly affect functional value. On the other hand, healthiness, diversity, price, and package eco-friendliness were found to have a positive impact on consumers' perceived emotional value, but hygiene was found to have no significant effect on emotional value. It was found that functional and emotional values significantly positively affected repurchase intention. Conclusions: This study confirmed that consumers' belief in the product attributes of franchise lunch boxes influenced consumers' perceived value, which thus formed the attitude of consumers and showed a relationship that affects repurchase intention. At the end of this paper, the managerial implications for the franchise lunch box brand, the limitations of this study, and future research directions were presented.
The cosmetics industry faces a significant challenge in addressing the decreased recycling rate of cosmetic containers due to the composite materials used to meet consumers' aesthetic satisfaction. To address thees issues, eco-friendly packaging solutions such as refill packaging and single-material use have been developed. However, the market for eco-friendly cosmetics packaging requires a product that meets consumers' demands for aesthetics, sensitivity, and eco-friendliness while also performing as well as existing products. This study presents a solution to the challenge of the decreased recycling rate of cosmetic containers by developing a new cosmetic packaging product for cream formulations. The product features an easily separable and dischargeable internal refill container, while maintaining the design aesthetics of the external container. Through various tests, the product was shown to be of equivalent quality and performance to existing cream cosmetic packaging, with no leakage or defects observed. Furthermore, the use of a single-material polypropylene refill container is expected to contribute to the improvement of the plastic recycling rate.
In the current product and fashion design, the 'eco-friendliness' is affecting practically and conceptually on all the sectors of industry and culture. Therefore, this study seeks to examine specific values in the concept of eco-friendly design. The subjects of this paper are studied on the scholarly journals, and are confined to those from 1990, when naturalism and ecology trend started to be in product and fashion, to the moment of search of February 2009. This study used 'Naturalism', 'Green', 'Environment-friendly', 'Eco', 'Sustainable', 'Well-being' and 'Lohas' as key words for the search. Analysis is performed by content analysis and the unit of analysis was based upon the adjectives, nouns and phrases which is related key words in the concept of eco-friendly design. The study realized that there are personal value, environmental value, economic value, and social value in the concept of eco-friendly design. In the result, it is not enough to consider the effect on environment only. Understanding the personal, environmental, economic, and social value from the viewpoint of customers, finding the optimal design factors, and reflecting them in development of product and fashion are necessary to pave the way for advanced eco-friendly design. The results of this paper would help to the future product and fashion development for eco-friendly brands.

Objective : The present study was intended to develop a design ideation and evaluation process for the development of ecology-, ergonomics-, and economy-friendly ($E^3$-friendly) products. Background : Due to increasing social and legal requirements on global sustainability, manufacturing companies have made more efforts ever than before for the development of eco-friendly products. However, most eco-friendly products are often criticized due to lacking ergonomic and/or economic considerations. Method : An $E^3$-friendly product development process consisting of (1) survey of eco-friendly products, (2) characterization of eco-friendly products, (3) design ideation for $E^3$-friendly product, and (4) design idea evaluation for $E^3$-friendliness was established and applied to the development of a novel product which supports drinking of daily recommended amount of water. Results : Fifty-five design characteristics were identified by a survey of forty eco-friendly products and incorporated into the proposed ideation and evaluation process. New ideas and design changes were developed effectively using the proposed development process for a novel $E^3$-friendly bottle for support of water drinking. Conclusion : The proposed process was found effective for the development of eco-friendly design ideas and improvements. Application : The proposed system would be of use to develop better design ideas having market competitiveness.
Purpose - This study aims to identify the effect of corporate eco-friendly marketing, which focuses on corporate social responsibility, on the environment, natural preservation and protection, and environmental concern among consumers. Research design, data, and methodology - A total of 92 valid questionnaires were used for analysis. A structured model was established and a 3-step mediated regression test was employed to see how consumers' perception of ethical consumer behavior and price sensitivity are influential in relation to the impact of consumer's perception of eco-friendliness on the using intention in relation to eco-friendly products. Results - Three factors of eco-friendly perception all have a positive impact on ethical consumer behavior, thus lowering their price sensitivity. In particular, it is found that environmental knowledge and environmental concern are important to promote ethical consumer behavior. Conclusion - It is found that, to increase the using intention of eco-friendly products, an enterprise should practice an eco-friendly marketing strategy, deliver eco-friendly related knowledge, and include contents to allow consumers to take an interest in the environment for effective performance of marketing.

This study measured consumer's recognition, reliability, emotion and images about current eco-marks as well proposed an eco-mark rating scale and mark designs to improve consumer's trust on the fashion product marks. We used a questionnaire survey to collect data from 150 persons about knowledge, interests, and practice on eco fashion products in relation to trustfulness and positive images for three domestic and three international eco-marks. We evaluated and gave eco scores to six fiber-type products (cotton, organic cotton, wool, polyester, biodegradable polyester and nylon) in terms of consumer's use, water & land consumption, waste amount, carbon footprint, and toxicity. We suggested a new 5-level rating scale for eco marks, which quantified the concept of environmental friendliness of fiber products. The design for eco-mark of rating scale showed the total grade with two sub scores of environmental sides and human sides developed with an improved visual understanding for consumers. The design is one through benchmarking the energy-consumption efficiency mark, which is familiar to consumers such as a half circle shape to save environment resources to alarm consumers to environment problems.
