Analysis of suitable evacuation routes through multi-agent system simulation within buildings

  • When a dangerous event arises for people inside a building and an immediate evacuation is required, it is important that suitable routes have been previously defined. These situations can happen especially when buildings are crowded, making the occupants have a very high vulnerability and can be trapped if they do not evacuate quickly and safely. However, in most cases, routes are considered based just on their proximity or short distance to the exit areas, and evacuation simulations that include more variables are not performed. This work aims to propose a methodology for building's indoor evacuation activities under the premise of processing simulation scenarios in multi-agent environments. In the methodology, importance indexes of simplified and validated geometry data from a BIM (Building Information Modeling) are considered as heuristic input data in a proposed algorithm. The algorithm is based on AP-Theta* pathfinding and collision avoidance machine learning techniques. It also includes conditioning variables such as the number of people, speed of movement as well as reaction ability of the agents that influence the evacuation times. Moreover, collision avoidance is applied between people or with objects along the route. The simulations using the proposed algorithm are tested in NetLogo for diverse scenarios, showing feasible evacuation routes and calculating evacuation times in a multi-agent environment. The experimental results are obtained by applying the method in a study case and demonstrate the level of effectiveness of the algorithm, and the influence of the conditioning variables analyzed together when performing safe evacuation routes.

다양한 경로 모형을 이용한 도시 도로망의 특성 분석 (Characteristic Analysis on Urban Road Networks Using Various Path Models)

  • 최신 IT 기술의 발달로 자율주행 자동차의 운행이 현실화되고 있으며, 이를 위해 경로 탐색은 필수적이다. 일반적으로 경로 탐색에서는 이동거리를 최소화하는 최단거리 경로와 이동 시간을 최소화하는 최단시간 경로가 제시된다. 그러나 이러한 경로의 품질은 도로망의 그래프 위상적 특성에 따라 달라진다. 도로망의 연결구조가 합리적이지 않으면 라우팅 알고리즘의 성능 개선에 한계가 있다. 실제 운전자들은 회전 횟수, 주변 환경, 교통체증, 도로 품질 등의 심리적 요소를 고려하며, 특히 회전이 적은 경로를 선호한다. 본 논문에서는 도로망 특성을 평가할 때 최단거리와 최단시간 경로뿐 아니라 회전이 가장 적은 경로를 찾는 단순 경로 알고리즘을 제시한다. 이를 통해 국내외 20개 주요 대도시 도로망의 연결 특성을 비교 평가하고, 도로망의 강점과 약점을 파악하여 효율적이고 안전한 경로 탐색 알고리즘을 개발할 수 있다. 제안된 단순 경로 알고리즘을 활용하여 각 도시의 도로망 특성을 비교 평가함으로써 도로망의 품질과 경로 탐색의 효율성을 종합적으로 검토한다.

할라이드 페로브스카이트 단결정 (Halide Perovskite Single Crystals)

  • For the last decades, a research hotspot for the halide perovskites (HPs) is now showing great progress in terms of improving efficiency for numerous photovoltaic devices (PVDs). However, it still faces challenges in the case of long-term stability in the air atmosphere. Defect-free high-quality HP single crystals show their promising properties for the remarkable development of highly efficient and stable PVDs. Here, we summarize the growth processing routes for the stable HP single crystals as well as briefly discuss the pros and cons of those well-established synthesis routes. Furthermore, we briefly include the comparison note between the HP single crystals and polycrystalline perovskite films regarding their device applications. Based on the future progress, the review concludes subjective perspectives and current challenges for the development of HPs high-quality PVDs.

  • 1. EAF Dust in Japan - Generation and Characteristics. The quantity of dust generated from EAF shops in Japan was estimated to be 520,000 tons/year in 1999. Extremely fine dust (or fume) is formed in the EAF by metal vaporization. Its characteristics such as chemical compositions, phases, particle size, leaching of heavy metal are mentioned. 2. EAF Dust Treatment Methods in Japan. In 1999, 61% of EAF dust was treated by regional zinc recovery processing routes, 25% went to landfill disposal, 4% was reused as cement material, and 10% was treated by on-site processing routes. The problems of EAF dust treatment methods in Japan are: (1) very high treatment cost, and (2) heavy environmental load (leaching of heavy metal, emission of dioxins, depletion of disposal sites, etc). It has been much hoped for that new dust management technology would be developed. 3. New technology of EAF dust treatment in Japan. In Japan, some new technologies of EAF dust treatment have been developed, and some others are in the developing stages. Following five processes are mentioned:. (1) Smelting reduction process by Kawasaki Steel, (2) DSM process by Daido Steel, (3) VHR process by Aichi Steel, (4) On-site dust direct recycling technology, and (5) Process technology of direct separation and recovery of iron and zinc metals contained in high temperature EAF off gas by the Japan Research and Development Center fur Metals.

Appearance/Instance of Genetically Modified Maize at Grain Receiving Harbors and Along Transportation Routes in Korea

  • Genetically modified (GM) crops are not permitted to be cultivated in Korea, but can only be imported as food or feed purposes. The import of GM crops has sharply increased in recent years, thus raising concerns with regard to the unintentional escape of these crops during transport and manufacturing as well as the subsequent contamination of local, non-GM plants. Hence, monitoring of GM crops was studied in or outside of grain receiving ports as well as from feed-processing plants in Korea during July 2008. We observed spilled maize grains and established plants primarily in storage facilities that are exposed around the harbors and near transportation routes of the feed-processing areas. Based on the PCR analyses, a total of 17 GM maize plants and 11 seeds were found among the samples. In most cases, the established maize plants found in this study were at the vegetative stage and thus failed to reach the reproductive stage. This study concludes that, in order to prevent a genetic admixture in the local environment for GM crops or seeds, frequent monitoring work and proper action should be taken.

A Network Coding-Aware Routing Mechanism for Time-Sensitive Data Delivery in Multi-Hop Wireless Networks

  • The network coding mechanism has attracted much attention because of its advantage of enhanced network throughput which is a desirable characteristic especially in a multi-hop wireless network with limited link capacity such as the device-to-device (D2D) communication network of 5G. COPE proposes to use the XOR-based network coding in the two-hop wireless network topology. For multi-hop wireless networks, the Distributed Coding-Aware Routing (DCAR) mechanism was proposed, in which the coding conditions for two flows intersecting at an intermediate node are defined and the routing metric to improve the coding opportunity by preferring those routes with longer queues is designed. Because the routes with longer queues may increase the delay, DCAR is inefficient in delivering real-time multimedia traffic flows. In this paper, we propose a network coding-aware routing protocol for multi-hop wireless networks that enhances DCAR by considering traffic load distribution and link quality. From this, we can achieve higher network throughput and lower end-to-end delay at the same time for the proper delivery of time-sensitive data flow. The Qualnet-based simulation results show that our proposed scheme outperforms DCAR in terms of throughput and delay.

  • Specimens of Ti-10Ta-10Nb have been hot upset forged after heating to either the $\alpha$+$\beta$ and $\beta$-phase field. The variety temperatures (At 650, 700, 750, 800, 85$0^{\circ}C$) and strain rates (At 0.001, 0.01. 0.1, 1, 10 $s^{-1}$ ) were used. On the basis of flow stress data obtained as a function of temperature and strain rate in compression, a processing map for hot working has been developed. At strain rates lower than about 0.1 $s^{-1}$ and almost temperatures, processing efficiency exhibited high, but at 0.001 $s^{-l}$, and temperature 80$0^{\circ}C$, low because the Shear band has occurred. On the basis of the processing map, the optimum processing routes available for hot working of this material are outlined.d.

실시간내비게이션의 온실가스 감축 영향력 분석 (The Effect of Real-time Navigation on the Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emission)

  • 본 논문은 정보통신기술을 기반으로 한 특정 서비스가 온실가스 감축에 미치는 영향력에 대하여 실험을 통하여 실증적으로 보여준다. 본 연구에서는 정보통신기술 기반 서비스로 실시간내비게이션을 선정하여 최적경로의 이산화탄소 감소율을 기존 내비게이션에서 제공하는 최단경로에서의 이산화탄소 감소율과 비교 실험하였다. 실험 결과는 실시간내비게이션의 최적경로로 이동할 경우 최단거리에 비해 이산화탄소 배출량 감소의 효과가 있다는 것을 보여준다. 또한, 본 연구는 청정개발체제에서 제시하는 온실가스 감축 방법을 기반으로 정량화 및 모니터링 접근을 통한 새로운 온실가스 감축 평가 방법을 이론적으로 제시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다양한 정보통신기술 기반 서비스들의 온실가스 감축 영향력에 대한 연구의 기반연구로써 활용될 수 있을 것이다. 또한, 본 논문에서 제시한 온실가스 감축 평가 방법론은 청정개발체제에 제안되어 새로운 표준으로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

스마트폰상의 지능형 개인화 서비스를 위한 강인한 파티클 필터 기반의 사용자 경로 예측 (Robust Particle Filter Based Route Inference for Intelligent Personal Assistants on Smartphones)

  • 스마트폰내 GPS 및 다양한 센서 데이터를 이용하여 스마트폰 사용자의 이동 패턴을 학습하고, 이를 기반으로 사용자 목적지와 경로를 예측하여 사용자의 의도에 맞는 서비스를 제공하는 위치기반 지능형 개인화 서비스(Intelligent personal assistant) 연구가 활발히 진행 되고 있다. 위치기반 개인화 서비스의 지능성은 불완전한 센서 데이터로부터 사용자 이동 정보를 처리하여, 실시간으로 사용자의 경로를 예측하는 정확성과 효율성에 좌우된다. 본 논문은 불완전한 정보로부터 사용자의 경로와 목적지를 추론하는 동적 베이지안 네트워크 기반의 강인한 파티클 필터(Robust particle filter)를 제안한다. 제안한 강인한 파티클 필터 방법은 부정확하고, 불완전한 센서 정보를 보완할 수 있는 파티클 생성, 실시간에 계산 복잡도를 감소시키는 효율적인 스위칭 함수와 가중치 함수, 파티클의 정확도를 향상시키는 재표본화로 구성되며, 사용자의 목적지와 경로의 예측 정확성과 효율성의 성능을 향상시켰다.

  • DES software is a Computer Aided Design(CAD) tool. It is built based on objected-oriented principle. Utilizing strong processing capability and quirk calculation of computer, it can search out all possible routes, and give out interlocking table on the base of chosen routes by user. It can provide a large number of data for computers included in computer interlocking system. It is efficient and reliable.
