재활용을 위한 양돈폐수와 공정슬러지의 특성연구 (Study on Characteristics of Piggery Waste and Processing Sludge for Reuse)

  • Charicteristics of piggery waste and treatment processing sludges for reuse were investigated. If it was thoroughly regulated in disinfectants, antibiotic substances and heavy metals, raw piggery waste can be gratified in criteria for fermentative compost (liquid) for flowers cultivation. Also, Because it is satisfied with various criteria of heavy metals and fertilizer contents for reuse except water content, primary pre-treatment sludge is very good material for composting. If provated goods on heavy metals are used in coagulation & dewatering process, coagulation & dewatering sludges are suitable for criteria of special waste regulation and by-product compost. This study proves that, if they are accomplished with suitable composting and mature process, piggery waste and processing sludges are free from microbiological problems as well as criteria of composting.

학교 실험 폐수 처리 방안 (A Study on the Method of Science Laboratory Waste Water by Absorbent at the Secondary School)

  • According to our secondary school curriculum for natural science and technical circles, there be used 353 of chemical reagents including 24 kinds of harmful and toxicant components. At present, most school are discharging their school laboratory waste water without any chemical and physical treatments. So as to solve the environmental problem for water pollution, this study tried to research a kind of adsorbant utilizing saw dust, wasted wood sources and designed the simple processing system using the adsorbent. This adsorbent was made by extracting lignin substances from raw saw dust under the solution of 0.5N-NaOH at the temperature of $100^{\circ}C$. Their metal removed rates was measured not only by processing of column and vessel. but also by comparing the standard solution and real waste water. The results were proved as more than 90(%) of the adsorptive efficiency on the average from Pb, Cd, Cu except Cr(VI)in case of the school experimental waste water soaked in vessels a long with 4g of the adsorbent for 24 hours. The new processing system enables to remove most harmful and toxicant metals by filtering, sedimenting and adsorbing at the low cost.

  • 본 논문에서는 주로 도시의 하수관 시설물에 대한 유지 및 관리 업무를 보다 효율적이며 효과적으로 수행하기 위해서 해당 업무를 수행함에 있어 발생하게 되는 각종 규칙을 취득, 각종 공사자료를 데이터베이스화하여 업무수행자의 의사결정에 도움을 주는 하수도 유지관리시스템을 지리정보시스템과 연계 처리하는 통합전산환경 구축을 위한 하수도 유지관리시스템을 연구하고, 이를 개발하였다. 특히 기존 하수도 관리방법상의 문제점을 분석하고, 이를 개선할 수 있는 하수도 유지관리시스템을 이용하여 저렴한 유지관리비용으로 지속적인 지식의 축적과 통상적 업무 및 주요 의사결정 업무에 해결방안을 제공하고 보다 효율적이며 효과적인 하수관의 유지관리를 수행할 수 있었다.

식품소재로서 굴통조림 가공부산액의 성분 특성 (Component Characteristics of Canned Oyster Processing Waste Water as a Food Resource)

  • As a part of basic investigation for utilization of canned food processing by-products, a food components of the canned oyster processing waste water such as boiled and released water(BRW), wash water(WW) were investigated and compared with hot-water extracts from oyster. From the results of measuring heavy metal conte수, viable cells and coliform group, the canned oyster processing waste waters might not invoke health risk in using food resource. The contents of taste compounds (free amino acids, ATP related compounds, TMA (O) and total creatinine) of BRW and WW accounted for about 254% and 95%, respectively, in comparison with those of control (hot-water extract from oyster). The BRW showed a very high content of salt in comparing to the WW and control. In descending order, the values of whiteness index was WW, control and BRW. Sensory scores for color, oyster flavor intensity and saline taste were not significantly different between WW and control. But, BRW had the highest score in oyster flavor intensity, while had the lowest score in color and saline taste. But, the color and saline taste of BRW might be able to control by some pretreatment (concentration and drying in mild condition, desalination and recipe control etc). These results indicated that BRW and WW generated from various step during canned oyster processing could be a potential food resource by controlling of saline taste and color intensity.

Screening of Agricultural and Food Processing Waste Materials as New Sources for Biodegradable Food Packaging Application

  • Agar-based composite films were prepared with variety of food processing and agricultural processing waste materials in order to screen natural lingo-cellulosic resources for the value-added utilization of the under-utilized materials. The effect of these waste materials (10 wt% based on agar) on mechanical properties, moisture content (MC), water vapor permeability (WVP), water absorption behavior of biocomposite films were investigated. Biocomposite films prepared with various fibers resulted in significant increase or decrease in color and percent transmittance. The MC, WVP, and surface hydrophobicity of biocomposite films increased significantly by incorporation of fibers, while the water uptake ratio and solubility of the film decreased. SEM images of biocomposite film showed better adhesion between the fiber and agar polymer. Among the tested cellulosic waste materials, rice wine waste, onion and garlic fibers were promising for the value-added utilization as a reinforcing material for the preparation of biocomposite food packaging films.

Performance studies on concrete with recycled coarse aggregates

  • Concrete continues to be the most consumed construction material in the world, only next to water. Due to rapid increase in construction activities, Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste constitutes a major portion of total solid waste production in the world. It is important to assess the amount of C&D waste being generated and analyse the practices needed to handle this waste from the point of waste utilization, management and disposal addressing the sustainability aspects. The depleting natural resources in the current scenario warrants research to examine viable alternative means, modes and methods for sustainable construction. This study reports processing Recycled Coarse Aggregates (RCA) using a rod mill, for the first time. Parameters such as amount of C&D waste for processing, nature of charge and duration of processing time have been optimized for obtaining good quality RCA. Performance of RCA based concrete and performance enhancement techniques of 50% RCA based concrete are discussed in this paper.

꽃게(Blue Crab) 가공 식품 제조 공정상 발생된 폐수 및 폐기물의 혐기성 생분해 가능성(I) (Anaerobic Bioconversion Potential of Blue Crab Processing Waste and Wastewater(I))

  • Disposal of blue crab wastes represents a significant problem to processors, who are limited with respect to acceptable disposal alternatives. Anaerobic bioconversion technology was investigated to determine an environmentally sound and economic disposal method for these wastes. In the study ultimate methane yield for total crab solid waste was $0.180m^3/kg$ VS added and biodegradation rate constant was $0.15day^{-1}$. Methane yield of the bench-scale reactor operated on similar feedstock was $0.189m^3/kg$ VS added and biodegradation rate constant was $0.06day^{-1}$. These results indicate that anaerobic bioconversion of blue crab wastes was technically feasible. Use of anaerobic bioconversion technology can be an attractive option for blue crab processing waste management. The by-product methane gas could be used for maintainign a number of processing operations (i.e., heat for cooking, or keeping temperature of digester constant).

오징어 가공중 타우린 함량의 변화 및 가공 폐액중의 타우린 함량 (Change of Taurine Content in Squid Meat during Squid Processing and Taurine Content in the Squid Processing Waste Water)

  • 오징어 가공 폐액 중에는 기능성 물질로 분류되고 있는 taurine이 다량 함유되어 있다는 사실이 밝혀졌기에 고부가가치 물질로서의 이용을 위한 기초 자료의 확보를 위해 본 연구가 시도되었다. 오징어 가공공장에서 각 공정별로 시료를 취하여 유리 아미노산과 taurine의 함량을 측정하고, 탈피액이나 자숙액 중의 taurine 함량을 확인하였다. 그 결과 원료, 탈피 및 자숙 오징어의 경우 proline이 $800{\~}997mg/100g$으로 가장 높은 함량을 나타내었고, 다음으로 taurine이 $730{\~}820mg/100g$으로 높았다. 자숙 오징어는 아미노산의 손실이 일어나 원료에 비해 $60{\%}$ 정도의 유리아미노산이 감소한 것으로 나타났으며, taurine의 함량도 다른 아미노산과 마찬가지로 크게 감소한 것으로 확인되었다. 조미 오징어 제품에서의 taurine 함량은 큰 변화가 없었는데, 이는 자국 전처리 과정 중에 taurine이 크게 감소한 후 조미 및 구이 공정에서는 큰 변화가 없는 것으로 판단되었다. 한편, 탈피액 및 자숙액 중의 유리 아미노산 함량은 각각 639.1 mg/100ml, 470.7ml100ml이었고, 이중 taurine 함량이 각각 144.9mg/100ml, 117.9mg/100ml로 유리아미노산의 약 $30{\%}$를 차지하였다. 이상의 결과로 오징어 가공공정 중의 탈피 및 자숙 과정 중에 유출되는 taurine을 효율적으로 회수할 수 있는 방법이 개발된다면 가공폐수의 처리는 물론이고 taurine 산업적 생산도 가능할 것으로 판단되었다.

Digestibility and Nitrogen Balance of Diets that Include Marine Fish Meal, Catfish (Pangasius hypophthalmus) By-product Meal and Silage, and Processing Waste Water in Growing Pigs

  • Ileal and total tract digestibility and nitrogen (N) balance of diets with four different protein sources were determined in growing pigs. The diets were based on rice bran, broken rice and maize meal and contained Tra catfish by-product (CBP), processed using three different methods, and marine fish meal (FM). The CBP diets consisted of the by-product in meal form, ensiled with molasses, and CBP waste water (WWBD). The four diets were fed to four growing pigs fitted with post-valve T-cecum (PVTC) cannulas in a $4{\times}4$ Latin Square design. All experimental diets included $Cr_2O_3$ at 5 g/kg feed as an indigestible marker. The ileal apparent digestibility of organic matter and ether extract was higher on diet WWBD than on the other three diets (p<0.05), and the total tract apparent digestibility was higher on diet WWBD than on the FM diet (p<0.05). The ileal and total tract apparent digestibility of crude protein and amino acids was not significantly different among diets (p>0.05). No significant effects of diet were found on N-retention and N utilization. In conclusion, the catfish by-product meal, ensiled catfish by-product and processing waste water diets and the fish meal diet had similar ileal and total tract apparent digestibility, and similar N utilization in growing pigs.

굴통조림 부산액을 이용한 인스턴트 분말수프의 제조 및 특성 (Preparation of Instant Powdered Soup using Canned Oyster Processing Waste Water and Its Characteristics)

  • 굴통조림 가공부산액 (세척수 및 자숙수)을 효율적으로 이용하기 위하여 굴통조림 가공부산액을 이용한 인스턴트 분말수프의 제조를 시도하였다. 대조구인 굴 열수추출물 유래 분말수프는 열수추출물 분말에 일정량의 식염, 크림분말, 유장분말, 밀가루, 옥수수분말, 전분, 포도당, 양파가루를 각각 혼합하여 제조하였다. 굴통조림 가공부산액 유래 혼합분말수프는 열수추출물 유래 분말 및 식염대신에 세척액 및 자숙수 유래 혼합분말 (자숙액 유래 분말 : 세척액 유래 분말=12:8)을 첨가하고, 기타 첨가물의 경우 굴열수추출물 유래 분말수프와 같은 비율로 첨기하여 제조하였다. 굴통조림 가공부산액 유래 혼합분말수프는 탄수화물이 $72\%$ 부근으로 거의 대부분을 차지하였고, 다음으로 조단백질 (약 $10\%$), 조회분 (약 $8\%$) 및 조지방 (약 $8\%$)의 순이었으며, 대조구인 열수추출물 분말수프와 차이가 없었다. 굴통조림 가공부산액 유래 혼합분말수프는 휘발성염기질소, 생균수, 대장균군 및 수분찬성이 각각 33.4mg/100g, $2.2\times10^4CFU/g$, <18MPN/100g 및 0.257이어서, 위생적으로 안전한 인스턴트 식품이었다. 굴통조림 가공부산액 유래 혼합분말수프의 주요 지방산은 16:0 ($31.5\%$), 18:0 ($10.5\%$) 및 18:1n-9 ($27.6\%$) 등이었고, 단백질의 화학가는 $61.4\%$이었으며, 주요 무기질은 철이었다. 관능적 평가 결과 열수추출물 분만수프에 대하여 혼합분말수프의 경우 향은 약간 낮았으나, 맛은 오히려 우수하였다. 이상의 이화학적 및 관능적 검사 결과로 미루어 보아 식염 함량이 많아 대부분이 폐기되고 있는 자숙수의 경우도 분말 화하여 세척수유래 분말과 적절히 혼합하여 식염농도를 조절하면 우수한 인스턴트 분말수프의 소재로 이용 가능하다는 결론을 얻었다.
