  • While standardization and its applications for registering and sharing information resources about B2B transactions such as business documents are relatively well developed, it is not easy to register and share business process resources because there are many ways to define complex business processes using different specification(definition) languages. In practice, there are several competing business process specification languages applicable under service-oriented architecture (SOA) such as ebXML BPSS, WS-BPEL, BPMN and so on. A systematic way has to be prepared to register/share diverse and heterogeneous specifications represented using those languages. This paper demonstrates the usefulness of sharing B2B business processes by prototyping a business process registry called ebRR4BP. First of all, we designed a metadata ontology to support the registration of diverse B2B business processes. To implement the proposed metadata ontology using ebXML registries, a mapping scheme to ebXML Registry Information Model is also suggested. The ontology and mapping scheme will be a foundation for supporting common interchange of business process metadata among B2B resistries.

  • Policy study information is the essential source of information in every step of decision making process to plan, execute and assess the national operation policy. The policy study subject of a national policy research center from study design the performance assessment on its practical effect is managed via thorough process to secure its effectiveness and efficiency. However, the directly exposed information to the practical user or the public who are in need of actual policy study information is the resource published in a form of policy study report, the final result. NKIS operated by the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences under the Office for Government Policy Coordination, Prime Minister's Secretariat is a public information offering service that conduct integrated management on study reports from cooperative study among institutes along with policy outcome from 27 national policy research centers. This study aims to introduce the current status of operation and information management of NKIS, apprehend the management characteristics of policy study information resources of national policy research center, and deduce remarks that need to be considered for API with external service for the derivation of standardized sharing data element.

  • The objective of this study is to examine the relationship between attitude in digital usage and life satisfaction level of the middle-aged people and older adults, and to analyze Sequential Mediation Effects of online networking activity and information producing and sharing in the online context. To achieve the main objectives, we conducted Hayeys'(2013) Process for SPSS Macro. The followings are the results of the study: First, there is a strong relationship between the attitude towards digital usage and the life satisfaction. Second, the results showed that impact of attitude in digital usage on life satisfaction among the older people is 0.291 unit higher, when they are engaged both in online networking activity and digital information production/sharing activities compared to involved in online networking activity alone. The results of the study is meaningful in that they can be used as a baseline data for reconsideration of digital usage and life satisfaction of the older adults, by providing comprehensive examination of relationship among attitude in digital usage, life satisfaction, online network activities, and digital information production·sharing activities of the older adults.

  • In this study, we compared discourse by environments for using tools in terms of participation types, discourse types, and knowledge building processes. 24 first-year high school students were divided into six groups. They were assigned to the sharing tools environment, which used one marker and one smart device, or the individual tools environment, which used markers and smart devices individually. Students participated in small group learning using AR application based on the concept of chemical bonding. All classes were video- and audio-taped. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with six students who voluntarily agreed. The results of the study revealed that the sharing tools environment had a high proportion of one-student dominating type, while the individual tools environment had a high proportion of partly participating type and most students participating type. In the individual tools environment, the ratio of knowledge sharing and knowledge construction discourse was similar compared to the tool sharing environment, and the sub-discourse types were also diverse. In the sharing tools environment, only some students had a meaningful knowledge building process. On the other hand, in the individual tools environment, most of the group members constructed knowledge about the target concept, and had a meaningful knowledge building process. In addition, the misconceptions that appeared to some group members were corrected through small group discussions.

  • Within a framework of sociocultural approaches to writing process, this study examined six ESL graduate students' writing processes in depth based on individual interviews and their narratives of writing process. The narratives and interviews were analyzed to discover salient aspects of the students' writing processes and to understand the socially situated nature of the writing processes. First, it was observed that these six students displayed multiplicity in terms of their representations of writing process, episodes, textual practices, and concerns. Several factors including the writing task, students' familiarity with genre, literacy skills, attitude toward writing, and involvement in interaction contributed to individualized trajectories of writing process. It was also revealed that writing is unavoidably a socially situated practice. Students were situated in their cultural arenas as well as their disciplinary arenas, and these contexts helped the students serve as active agents producing and sharing knowledge. The confluence of personal, cognitive, and social factors observed in their writing processes suggests that writing process should be understood from multiple perspectives.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the thinking characteristics of mathematically gifted elementary school students in the process of modified prize-sharing problem solving and each student's thinking changes in the middle of discussion. To determine the relevance of the research task, 19 sixth graders enrolled in a local joint gifted class received instruction, and then 49 students took lessons. Out of them, 19 students attended a gifted education institution affiliated to local educational authorities, and 15 were in their fourth to sixth grades at a beginner's class in a science gifted education center affiliated to a university. 15 were in their fifth and sixth grades at an enrichment class in the same center. Two or three students who seemed to be highly attentive and express themselves clearly were selected from each group. Their behavioral and teaming characteristics were checked, and then an intensive observational case study was conducted with the help of an assistant researcher by videotaping their classes and having an interview. As a result of analyzing their thinking in the course of solving the modified prize-sharing problem, there were common denominators and differences among the student groups investigated, and each student was very distinctive in terms of problem-solving process and thinking level as well.

  • This paper presents rationales for a network centric organization and their impacts on organizational effectiveness. A network centric organization shows characteristics that may be used to improve organizational effectiveness and process innovations. However, some conditions are to be satisfied to build a network centric organization. This paper summarizes such pre-conditions for a network centric organization. Korea is evaluated to be a good place to build a network centric organization because of its successful adoption of IT.

  • In Internet, IP multicast has been used successfully to provide an efficient, best-effort delivery service for group communication applications. However, applications such as multiparty private conference, distribution of stock market information, pay per view and other subscriber services may require secure multicast to protect integrity and confidentiality of the group traffic, and validate message authenticity. Providing secure multicast for group communication is problematic without a robust group key management. In this paper, we propose a group key management scheme based on the secret sharing technology to require each member by itself to generate the group key when receiving a rekeying message multicast by the group key distributor. The proposed scheme enforces mutual authentication between a member and the group key distributor while executing the rekeying process, and provides forward secrecy and backward secrecy properties, and resists replay attack, impersonating attack, group key disclosing attack and malicious insider attack.

  • The compaction pile methods with low replacement area ratio used sand(SCP) or gravel(GCP) has been usually applied to improvement of soft clay deposits. In order to design accurately compaction pile method with low replacement area ratio, it is important to understand the mechanical interaction between sand piles and clays and its mechanism during consolidation process of the composition ground. In this paper, a series of numerical analyses on composition ground improved by SCP and GCP with low replacement area ratio were carried out, in order to investigate the mechanical interaction between sand piles and clays. The applicability of numerical analyses, in which and elasto-viscoplastic consolidation finite element method was applied, could be confirmed comparing with results of a series of model tests on consolidation behaviors of composition ground improved by SCP. And,through the results of the numerical analyses, each mechanical behaviors of compaction piles and clays in the composition ground during consolidation was elucidated, together with stress sharing mechanism between compaction piles and clays.
