An elasto-plastic damage constitutive model for jointed rock mass with an application

  • A forked tunnel, as a special complicated underground structure, is composed of big-arch tunnel, multi-arch tunnel, neighborhood tunnels and separate tunnels according to the different distances between two separate tunnels. Due to the complicated process of design and construction, surrounding jointed rock mass stability of the big-arch tunnel which belongs to the forked tunnel during excavation is a hot issue that needs special attentions. In this paper, an elasto-plastic damage constitutive model for jointed rock mass is proposed based on the coupling method considering elasto-plastic and damage theories, and the irreversible thermodynamics theory. Based on this elasto-plastic damage constitutive model, a three dimensional elasto-plastic damage finite element code (D-FEM) is implemented using Visual Fortran language, which can numerically simulate the whole excavation process of underground project and perform the structural stability of the surrounding rock mass. Comparing with a popular commercial computer code, three dimensional fast Lagrangian analysis of continua (FLAC3D), this D-FEM has advantages in terms of rapid computing process, element grouping function and providing more material models. After that, FLAC3D and D-FEM are simultaneously used to perform the structural stability analysis of the surrounding rock mass in the forked tunnel considering three different computing schemes. The final numerical results behave almost consistent using both FLAC3D and D-FEM. But from the point of numerically obtained damage softening areas, the numerical results obtained by D-FEM more closely approach the practical behaviors of in-situ surrounding rock mass.

  • 최근 채석장 및 광산의 파쇄설비로부터 발생되는 소음 및 분진에 의한 민원과 환경적인 문제가 대두되고 있으며, 이러한 파쇄설비를 지하공동으로 옮기는 사례가 증가하고 있다. 파쇄설비 및 가공시설을 갱내에 설치하기 위해서는 넓은 공간의 굴착이 이루어져야 하고, 대형공동 주변암반의 안정성이 확보되어야 한다. 지하공동 주변암반의 안정성은 굴착 시공 시 발생되는 굴착손상영역과 밀접한 관계가 있어, 최종파단면을 형성시키는 최외곽 발파공에 대한 정밀한 설계가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 석회석 지하광산에서 대형공동 및 영구갱도 굴착시 발생 가능한 발파균열길이 및 손상영역을 예측하기 위한 수치해석기법을 제안하였다. 먼저 석회암블록에 대한 발파실험을 수행하고 발생된 인장균열수 및 길이를 분석하여, 동적파괴과정해석코드의 주요 입력변수인 평균 미시적 인장강도를 결정하였다.

  • It is now very important that we have to explore the excellency of Korean traditional foods and to hand down the taste of it to the next generations, because the shapes of the foods or the foods themselves are fading out on the ground that the western style of foods are spreading very widely. However, the realistic research about the foods are very slight and the data of the systemic investigation and excavation about the Korean traditional foods are very short. In addition to this, we are need to investigate, excavate, and accumulate the data for the foods when there are persons who has some experience about how to cook and know-how about the actual foods in order to prepare the international reservation for [an agreement of biological diversity], which was signed at Riu, Brazil. The research is done at the province of Chungchung from March to December, 2001. We observed the foods of the province, separating it into Chungchun-namdo and Chungchung-bukto. We collected the kinds of foods by the questionnaire or the field investigation, and we studied the historical evidence for them conferring the books about the foods( for instance, Whang, Hae-Sung and others). And we took the pictures on the process of making foods that the initiate experts are demonstrating. The kinds of traditional foods in Chung-buk were 158 foods, of which main dishes were 42 including Pyogo busutbap, and side dishes are 93 including Guysan-chu-tang, and preferences were 26 including Chik-bu-kku-mi, based on the conference books. However, our excavation and investigation shown that traditional foofs of Chung-buk were 95 kinds, of which main dishes were 18 including Keingsengi-ju, and side dishes were 44 including Jinip-kimchi, and preferences were 33 including Gamtto-gaetteok. However, the questionnaire shown that the kinds of traditional foods of Chung-nam were 342, of which main dishes were 53 including Kukijasun-bibim-bap, and side dishes were 202 including Kkokgeial-teonjang-kuk, and preferences were 90 including Hodu-kawja. However, our excavation and investigation shown that the traditional foods of Chung-nam were 90 kinds, of which main dishes were 8 including Ssuk-bap, and side dishes were 64 kinds including Hobak-geikukji, and preferences were 21 kinds including Yeohyangchia.

Study on bearing characteristic of rock mass with different structures: Physical modeling

  • In this paper, to study the stability of surrounding rock during roadway excavation in different rock mass structures, the physical model test for roadway excavation process in three types of intact rock mass, layered rock mass and massive rock mass were carried out by using the self-developed two-dimensional simulation testing system of complex underground engineering. Firstly, based on the engineering background of a deep mine in eastern China, the similar materials of the most appropriate ratio in line with the similarity theory were tested, compared and determined. Then, the physical models of four different schemes with 1000 mm (height) × 1000 mm (length) × 250 mm (width) were constructed. Finally, the roadway excavation was carried out after applying boundary conditions to the physical model by the simulation testing system. The results indicate that the supporting effect of rockbolts has a great influence on the shallow surrounding rock, and the rock mass structure can affect the overall stability of the surrounding rock. Furthermore, the failure mechanism and bearing capacity of surrounding rock were further discussed from the comparison of stress evolution characteristics, distribution of stress arch, and failure modes in different schemes.

비굴착 하수관로용 PVC 프로파일 보수재 특성 평가 (Characterization of Repairing PVC profile for Trenchless Sewer Pipeline)

  • 개착식 공법은 도로의 굴착에 따른 시간과 비용의 증가, 교통통제로 인한 민원발생 및 교통지정체 등 많은 문제점을 발생시키고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 비굴착공법에 사용 가능한 하수관거 보수자재에 대한 실험을 시행하였다. 사용한 재료는 PVC프로파일이며, 국가표준시험 방법을 적용하여 기본 물성 평가를 시행하였다. 본 기술은 SPR(Sekisui Pipe Rehabilitation) 기술에 적용되는 프로파일보다 구조적 안정성이 높고, pipe integrity를 높일 수 있는 SWP(Spirally Wound Pipe)용 프로파일 구조를 적용하였다. 복합안정제의 함량을 5 phr을 이용하여 배합을 하였다. 시험 결과 복합안정제와 충격보강제를 투입한 경우에도 인장강도, 충격강도 및 연화온도가 표준의 물성을 만족함을 알 수 있었고, 가공시 부하가 없이 가공할 수 있었다. 접착 수지로 단부마감을 한 프로파일은 같은 압력에서 누수가 발생하지 않았다.

준정적인 발파 가스압에 의한 암반의 손상 영역 예측 (Damage zone induced by quasi-static gas pressure during blasting)

  • It is essential to predict a blasting-induced excavation damage zone (EDZ) beyond the proposed excavation line of a tunnel because the unwanted damage area requires extra support system for tunnel safety. Complicated blasting process which may hinder a proper characterization of the damage zone can be effectively represented by two loading mechanisms. The one is a dynamic impulsive load generating stress waves outwards immediately after detonation. The other is a gas pressure that remains for a relatively long time. Since the gas pressure reopens up the arrested cracks and continues to extend some cracks, it contributes to the final formation of EDZ induced by blasting. This paper presents the simple method to evaluate EDZ induced by gas pressure during blasting in rock. The EDZ is characterized by analyzing crack propagation from the blasthole. To do this, a model of the blasthole with a number of radial cracks of equal length in an infinite elastic plane is considered. In this model, the crack propagation is simulated by using three conditions, the crack propagation criterion, the mass conservation of the gas, and the adiabatic condition. As a result, the stress intensity factor of the crack generally decreases as crack propagates from the blasthole so that the length of the crack is determined. In addition, the effect of rock properties, initial number of cracks, and the adiabatic exponent are investigated.

쉴드 TBM 디스크 커터 교체 유무 판단을 위한 머신러닝 분류기법 성능 비교 (Performance comparison of machine learning classification methods for decision of disc cutter replacement of shield TBM)

  • 최근 국내 터널에서 지속적으로 증가하고 있는 쉴드 TBM 공법의 주된 굴착도구는 디스크 커터로 굴진과정에서 자연스럽게 마모가 발생하고 이는 TBM의 굴진효능을 현저히 저하시키기 때문에 적절한 시기에 교체하는 것이 중요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 디스크 커터 교체 여부를 판단할 수 있는 예측 모델을 머신러닝 기법을 사용한 방법으로 제안하였다. 이를 위해 국내 기 시공된 쉴드 TBM 현장의 데이터 중 디스크 커터 소모에 상관성이 높은 굴진데이터(TBM 기계데이터, 지반정보 등)와 교체이력을 입력데이터로 사용하여 다양한 머신러닝 분류기법 중 서포트 벡터 머신, 최근접이웃 알고리즘, 의사결정트리 알고리즘을 사용하여 최적의 예측 모델을 구축하고 모델의 성능을 평가하기 위하여 분류성능평가 지표로 비교 분석하였다.

굴착방법과 초기지압 조건을 고려한 하중분배율의 산정 연구 (A Study on the Estimation of Load Distribution Factors Considering Excavation Methods and Initial Stress Conditions)

  • 본 연구에서는 시공단계를 정확하게 고려하여 3차원 해석을 수행하고, 이와 동일한 결과를 나타내는 2차원 해석 결과를 얻고자 천단변위를 기준으로 하여 하중분배율을 결정하였다. 2차원 해석 결과와 3차원 해석 결과에서 천단변위의 총량에는 차이가 있어, 이를 극복하고자 각 단계에서의 천단변위 값을 총 변위량으로 나눈 '천단변위비'를 비교 대상으로 정하였다. 또한 숏벤치 공법이나 미니벤치 공법의 경우에서처럼 상하 반단면 분할굴착에서 벤치의 길이가 짧은 경우에는 하부 반단면의 굴착이 완료된 후에도 굴진면의 지지효과가 사라지지 않는 상황이 발생한다. 이러한 상황을 해석에 반영하고자 4번째 하중분배계수를 도입하여 굴진면 전진 효과를 구현하도록 하였다. 그 결과 전단면 굴착, 상하 반단면 분할굴착, 벤치 길이의 변화 및 초기 응력 상태 등을 고려한 다양한 경우에 대하여 합리적으로 하중분배율을 결정하는 방법을 제시하였다.

Analytical behavior of longitudinal face dowels based on an innovative interpretation of the ground response curve method

  • One of the most frequent issues in tunnel excavation is the collapse of rock blocks and the dropping of rock fragments from the tunnel face. The tunnel face can be reinforced using a number of techniques. One of the most popular and affordable solutions is the use of face longitudinal dowels, which has benefits including high strength, flexibility, and ease of cutting. In order to examine the reinforced face, this work shows the longitudinal deformation profile and ground response curve for a tunnel face. This approach is based on assumptions made during the analysis phase of problem solving. By knowing the tunnel face response and dowel behavior, the interaction of two elements can be solved. The rock element equation derived from the rock bolt method is combined with the dowel differential equation to solve the reinforced ground response curve (GRC). With a straightforward and accurate analytical equation, the new differential equation produces the reinforced displacement of the tunnel face at each stage of excavation. With simple equations and a less involved computational process, this approach offers quick and accurate solutions. The FLAC3D simulation has been compared with the suggested analytical approach. A logical error is apparent from the discrepancies between the two solutions. Each component of the equation's effect has also been described.

경주 월성 1-1호 목조해자 축조과정 추정 (The Suggestion about the Construction Process of the Wooden Moat Found in the Wolseong Moat 1-1)

  • The Wolseong Wooden moat is a unique example. Which is a vertical wall made of wood. It shows a changing point how to make the wall by digging a hole and stacking stones vertically. This study tried to to make a assumption about the construction process of the wooden structure found in the Wolseong pit moat. I sorted out wooden elements and then analyzing these features and compared with the results of the excavation. After I made 3D modelling in the order to it was made. This moat is not only a function of digging up the ground to trap water, but also a technique of building structures to maintain walls. It is a valuable material that can show the woodworking engineering techniques of the Silla Dynasty.
