프레스 자동화 공정을 위한 비전 기반 블랭크 정렬 장치 개발 (Development of a Vision-based Blank Alignment Unit for Press Automation Process)

  • A vision-based blank alignment unit for a press automation line is introduced in this paper. A press is a machine tool that changes the shape of a blank by applying pressure and is widely used in industries requiring mass production. In traditional press automation lines, a mechanical centering unit, which consists of guides and ball bearings, is employed to align a blank before a robot inserts it into the press. However it can only align limited sized and shaped of blanks. Moreover it cannot be applied to a process where more than two blanks are simultaneously inserted. To overcome these problems, we developed a press centering unit by means of vision sensors for press automation lines. The specification of the vision system is determined by considering information of the blank and the required accuracy. A vision application S/W with pattern recognition, camera calibration and monitoring functions is designed to successfully detect multiple blanks. Through real experiments with an industrial robot, we validated that the proposed system was able to align various sizes and shapes of blanks, and successfully detect more than two blanks which were simultaneously inserted.

  • Recently, life cycle and lead-time of products have been shortened with the demand of customers. Therefore, it is important to reduce time and cost at the step of manufacturing trial molds. High speed machining can be applied for this kind of purpose with a lot of practical advantages. In our research, several fundamental experiments are carried out to obtain machining parameters such as cutting force, machining time and surface characteristics for tool paths that are appropriate to high-speed machining. Moreover, a trial mold for an automatic transmission knob is fabricated with aluminum-7075 material. Using automatic set-up equipments, an ABS rapid prototype of a trial product of an AT knob is also manufactured with a filling process.

공장자동화를 위한 신발갑피 Fuse공정 표준화 설계 연구 (A Study on the Standardization of Fuse Process for Automation of Manufacturing)

  • The shoe manufacturing process is very low compared to other industries due to the labor-intensive process. As automation and smart factories are becoming more and more automated, changes in the shoe manufacturing process are also needed. In this paper, we want to standardize the fuse manufacturing process by modularizing it. First, we defined the terms of shoeupper and fuse process, the shoe upper fuse process by function and classified it as a modular process. The fuse process can be modularized with pattern supply module, pattern recognition module, pattern laminate module, pattern waiting module, adhesion module, heat pressing module, transmission module, etc.

  • The construction industry is in the process of changing from the existing labor-intensive production system to a construction automation system using advanced information and communication technologies. Accordingly, in order to identify key research areas and utilization technologies in the field of construction automation, this study collected the latest 17 years (2000-2016) of papers published in International Symposium on Automation and Robotics in Construction (ISARC) and conducted a correlation analysis between the construction management areas and automation technologies based on the keyword frequency. As a result, the BIM, WSN, and Augmented reality were extracted as the technology keywords with high correlation with various areas of construction management.

  • 커팅헤드 어태치먼트는 굴삭기에 부착되어 사용되며 절삭 도구인 픽커터가 커팅헤드에 배열되어 암석이나 낙후된 건물을 파쇄 또는 절삭하는 작업에 사용된다. 암석을 절삭할 때 픽 커터의 배열은 절삭 성능과 연관성이 있는 요소이다. 본 연구는 픽 배열 설계 자동화를 수행하여 설계 소요 시간 및 검증 시간을 단축시켰으며, 배열에 따른 시스템의 거동을 예측하는데 활용하였다. 픽 배열 설계 자동화 방법은 RecurDyn/ProcessNet을 통해 수행하였으며, 설계 자동화 프로그램은 Drum set, Pick load 그리고 Pick arrangement의 세 부분으로 나누어 진행하였다. 이를 통해 커팅헤드 어태치먼트의 설계 비용 절감과 다양한 메커니즘 별 전용 어태치먼트의 설계에 활용할 수 있다.

CNN 알고리즘을 이용한 체커스위치 불량 검출 시스템 개발 (Development of Checker-Switch Error Detection System using CNN Algorithm)

  • Various automation studies have been conducted to detect defective products based on product images. In the case of machine vision-based studies, size and color error are detected through a preprocessing process. A situation may arise in which the main features are removed during the preprocessing process, thereby decreasing the accuracy. In addition, complex systems are required to detect various kinds of defects. In this study, we designed and developed a system to detect errors by analyzing various conditions of defective products. We designed the deep learning algorithm to detect the defective features from the product images during the automation process using a convolution neural network (CNN) and verified the performance by applying the algorithm to the checker-switch failure detection system. It was confirmed that all seven error characteristics were detected accurately, and it is expected that it will show excellent performance when applied to automation systems for error detection.

재해분석과 실태조사를 통한 스마트 팩토리 공정의 위험성 감소 방안 (Plan for Risk Reduction of Smart Factory Process through Accident Analysis and Status Survey)

  • The domestic smart factory is being built and spread rapidly, mainly by mid-sized companies and large enterprises according to the government's active introduction and support policy. But these factories only promote production system and efficiency, so harmfulness and risk factors are not considered. Therefore, to derive harmful risk factors in terms of industrial safety for 12,983 government-supported smart factory workplaces from 2014 to 2019, industrial accident status analysis compared workplaces with automation facilities and government-supported workplaces with automation facilities. Also, to reduce risks associated with domestic smart factory processes, twenty government-supported workplaces with automation facilities underwent analysis, evaluating risks through a status survey using the process evaluation table. In addition, the status survey considered region, size, industry, construction level, and accident rate; the difference in risk according to the structure of the process was confirmed. Based on the smart factory process evaluation results, statistical analysis confirmed that serial, parallel, and hybrid structures pose different risk levels and that the risks of mixed structures are greater. Finally, safety control system application was presented for risk assessment and reduction in the smart factory process, reflecting the results of disaster analysis and actual condition investigation.

목재건조(木材乾燥)의 자동화(自動化)에 관한 연구(硏究)(I) -연속온도상승(連續溫度上昇)스케쥴을 이용한 목재건조장치(木材乾燥裝置) 자동화(自動化)- (Automation of Lumber Drying System(I) -Continuously Rising Temperature Drying of Pinus densiflora-)

  • An electrically heated experimental lumber dry kiln was retrofitted with a computer-based control system to control kiln conditions more precisely and monitor and record several kiln variables. Flat-sawn 2.5cm-thick Pinus densiflora boards were dried in constant temperature process(65$^{\circ}C$ & 50~60 %RH) and continuously rising temperature process, respectively. The average drying rate in continuously rising temperature process was 5.7 %/hr, which was above 3 times faster than that in constant temperature process. But, the average rate of case-hardening and moisture difference between shells and cores of boards dried in continuously rising temperature process were 82 % and 5.5 %, respectively, which were much larger than those of boards dried in constant temperature process.

IT융합기반의 연료필터 제조공정 자동화 (Automation of Fuel Filter Manufacturing Process Via IT Convergence)

  • 본 연구에서는 연료 필터의 생산성 향상을 위하여 IT기반의 갱추리 자동화 장치를 개발한다. 불량 제품의 분석, 수율 개선 및 생산성 향상을 위해 자동화 장치와 연동된 IT 기반의 모니터링 시스템 구축을 구축한다. 3개월간 시료 10,000개 생산시의 불량률 비교 측정한 결과 불량률이 0.65%에서 0.45%로 감소하였다. 또한 공구 모니터링을 통하여 공구 교환 시기의 알림과 로더의 정확한 소재의 수입으로 소재의 불량이 감소하였고, 소재 한 개에 대하여 수입에서 배출까지 공정 시간을 비교한 결과 94.7초에서 78.8초로 감소하여 생산성 증가하였다. 수작업으로 하던 소재의 수입/배출을 자동화로 구축하여 공정시간이 20.2% 감소한다. 또한 작업자 안전과 이송시간 감소는 생산성 향상과 직결된다.

  • 소프트웨어 로봇을 이용하여 프로세스를 자동화하는 RPA(Robotic Process Automation)가 국내외 기업의 큰 관심을 받고 있다. 기업의 실제 RPA 도입과 확산 경험에 기반을 둔 교훈과 실행 지침을 제공하기 위해 최근에 다수의 사례 연구가 수행되었다. 그러나 공공기관의 혁신 성장을 위한 RPA 도입 연구는 찾아보기 어려웠다. 본 연구는 국내 공공기관의 RPA 도입을 다룬 체계적인 사례 연구를 수행해 이러한 지식 공백을 메우고자 한다. 이러한 연구 목표를 달성하기 위해 우리나라 대표 ICT 전문기관인 한국정보화진흥원(NIA)의 RPA 도입 사례를 조사했다. NIA는 e나라도움 입력 업무의 자동화를 통해 비용, 운영, 비즈니스 효과 측면에서 성과를 달성했다. 특히, 본 사례 연구를 통하여 RPA가 공공기관의 4가지 경직성(즉, 구조, 구성원, 과업, 규칙)이 가져올 수 있는 디지털 혁신 추진의 어려움 극복에 기여할 수 있음을 제시하였다. RPA 도입을 고려 중인 공공기관을 위한 시사점과 본 연구의 한계점이 토론되었다.
