Development of Bachelor Nursing Programme (일 대학 간호학과 교육 과정 개발 연구)

  • The educational preparation of nurses has been the focus of considerable debate globally. It is needed the change of the basic nursing education for professional nurse to prepare the trends of the health care needs of clients for coming new generation. And also it is believed that educational preparation for being nurses is to be responsible to clients' needs. The purpose of the study was to develop a baccalaureate program in nursing. This study were implemented through three stages from April 2001, to April 2002.: preparation stage which were consisted of reviewing of the literatures, interviewing the fellow nurses in a variety workplace, and consulting professors who were concerned with the nursing education to identify the present educational problems, and analyzing the contents of seven major courses in nursing education, evaluation stage about a new developed curriculum with the directors of the five nursing schools, and confirmation stage of new developed education programme. The developed education programme was designed as a four year program with 126 credit hours including 39 credit hours of liberal arts, 34 credit hours of supplementary courses, and 53 credit hours of nursing major based on the four basic nursing dimensions of human, health, environment and nursing. Nursing majors were consisted of Nursing Ⅰ(oxygenation), Nursing Ⅱ(nutrition elimination), Nursing Ⅲ(activity rest), Nursing Ⅳ(neurologic- endocrine protection), Nursing Ⅴ(fluids electrolytes/sex reproductive), Nursing Ⅵ(psycho-social), Community Health Nursing, Fundamental Nursing, School Health, and Emergency care. This new nursing programme was focused on the nursing education for prevention and rehabilitation nursing care as well as the acute and chronic nursing care at hospital, on the integrated nursing programme to become effective, and the nursing process to encourage the critical thinking. The new education programme focused on the professional nurses who are responsible the nursing ethics, communication skills, and professional beliefs to suit the future trends in health. And also it will be needed for faculties to manage the integrated curriculum, to analyze the contents of each subject, and to communicate with each other before a new education programme apply to their education programme in future. Development of Korean Cultural Competency Scale for Human Service Workers (다문화 사회복지 실무자의 문화적 역량 척도개발 및 타당화)

  • This study aims to identify constructs of cultural competency specifically relevant to the Korean society and to test its reliability and validity among human service workers. For the purpose of the study, authors conducted focus group interviews and conferences with human service workers to draw the concept of cultural competency. Further, this study conducted to two separate pilot tests with 20 social workers with practice experiences in order to clarify descriptions and relevance of scale items. Based on the literature review on the concept of cultural competency and analysis of focus group interviews, 40 items were initially constructed and then were reduced to a 32-item scale after two separate pilot studies. Meantime, suggestions made by an advisory group were also reflected in the scale development process. Finally, one hundred ninety four workers in social service agencies were recruited to evaluate the relevance of the scale items in a 5 point Likert scale. Through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, 4 main factors were identified: 1) competency to use culturally relevant skills, 2) cultural awareness and sensitivity, 3) cultural knowledge, and 4) efforts to overcome cultural differences. These factors were consistent with sub-concepts of cultural competency in other studies. Confirmatory factor analysis also showed that the model fitness was at the high level and convergent analysis with the similar scale also showed high correlations. Internal consistency also remained at a high level. Based on the results, implication for social work practice and education were discussed.

A Study on Training Plan of Policy Information Librarian (정책정보전문사서 양성방안에 관한 연구)

  • This study was designed to derive and propose the qualities, qualifications, duties, etc. needed for policy information librarians who work in the policy-related special libraries. To do this, literature related to professional librarians was analyzed comprehensively with respect to qualifications, qualities, duties presented and needed in domestic and international jobs sites. The information derived through this process was developed into a questionnaire and a survey conducted targeting as subjects specialized librarians in related fields. The results indicated that the highest required LIS degree for both policy information librarian and for policy related fields is a Master's Degree. Additionally in investigating the importance of related career experience required for a policy information librarian, work related to policies reference services appeared to be the most important. On the issue of important qualities required of a policy information librarian, 'outstanding policies related data navigation capabilities' was the highest, followed by 'knowledge of information policy and knowledge of policy related resources', 'knowledge of the current trends of policies related fields', and 'smooth interpersonal skills.' The survey also indicated that with respect to the duties of the information librarian planning of policy information services had the highest score, followed by the providing of policies information services, and then collection management.

Phenomenological Study on Relationships of People with Acquired Disability with the Opposite Gender (후천적 장애인이 이성과의 관계 맺기에 관한 현상학적 연구)

  • Objective : The purpose of this research was to understand the emotions of disabled in starting relationships with the opposite gender and disclosing experienced events related to starting relationships with the opposite gender. Methods : In order to gain an understanding of experience, emotions and process of people with acquired disability, phenomenological study, a form of qualitative research was used. Data on subjects was collected through in-depth interviews, on-the-scene recording and technical observation diary, etc and were analyzed through Colaizzi's phenomenological study method. Results : Subjects who had acquired disabilities experienced changes in physical, psychological, social aspects and especially in the course of relationships with the opposite gender. Data from in-depth interviews of 8 subjects were analyzed 6 types of subject themes were derived. 1) Diagnosis of varying psychological reactions. 2) Various psychological reactions of parents and the other gender. 3) Through aggressive support rehabilitation volition will change. 4) After you have a disability as a lack of social skills. 5) Changes in confidence through rehabilitation. 6) the other gender for the different ideas. Conclusion : This research is valuable in presenting important data in understanding problems and emotions of relationships of people with acquired disabilities with opposite gender. Starting relationships with the opposite gender has more meaning than any other interacting activities in society. Conflicts exist in starting relationships and support programs for various specialists are indispensable.

Construction EC Strategy Model and Improving Fields for Global EC Transition (건설 EC화 활성화를 위한 상품별 전략모델 및 개선분야)

  • Since the early 1990s, Korean construction companies have strived to evolve into global Engineering Construction (EC) companies. However, such efforts have been unsuccessful, partly due to a lack of clear objectives and a misunderstanding of the direction that needed to be taken for such a change. A better understanding is required with respect to the need to transform into an EC company in the context of the rapidly changing global construction environment. This research investigates major EC companies from around the world, and assesses the status of domestic companies' efforts for EC transition. The results of these investigations revealed that domestic firms need to better prioritize their strengths for different markets, i.e., decide whether to implement directly, outsource or limit to process management. In addition, the investigations showed that the global market is shifting from monolithic projects to more complex projects. Such projects require firms with the ability to develop and implement high front-end investment strategies, planning capabilities, and pre-design management skills. Accordingly, we recommend that firms differentiate themselves by developing such a skill set required for specific products.

A Study on the Usefulness of Backend Development Tools for Web-based ERP Customization (Web기반 ERP 커스터마이징을 위한 백엔드 개발도구의 유용성 연구)

  • The risk of project failure has increased recently as ERP systems have been transformed into Web environments and task complexity has increased. Although low-code platform development tools are being used as a way to solve this problem, limitations exist as they are centered on UI. To overcome this, back-end development tools are required that can be developed quickly and easily, not only from the front development but also from a variety of development sources produced from the ERP development process, including back-end business services. In addition, the development tools included within existing ERP products require a lot of learning time from the perspective of beginner and intermediate developers due to high entry barriers. To address these shortcomings, this paper seeks to study ways to overcome the limitations of existing development tools within the ERP by providing customized development tool functions by enhancing the usability of ERP development tools suitable for each developer's skills and roles based on the requirements required by ERP development tools, such as reducing the time required for querying, automatic binding of data for testing for service-based units, and checking of source code quality.

Research Synthesis of Gender Differences in Korean Science Education Journals (성 차이 경향 파악을 위한 국내 과학 교육 문헌 분석)

  • This study analyzed all of the research articles published in six of the Korean science education journals in the past three decades. The purpose of this research synthesis was to identify gender differences in hundreds of research articles accomplished at the personal, local, and national level that have repeatedly been reported in several international comparative studies. There were few of articles that focused on gender issues, but 279 articles presented a result of gender issues separately. Of the 279 articles, we finally analyzed 225 research articles for a statistical significance. The articles were divided into two types of research method: test-based studies and experiment-based studies. The results of research synthesis in test-based studies were as follows: The largest number of studies reported male superiority in science knowledge and science-related attitude, which is similar to the results of recent international studies. In particular, gender differences were the biggest in science-related attitudes and the least in scientific process skills. The result of research synthesis in experimental studies was that the largest number of articles did not show significant gender differences in the effect of the applied program. It is noteworthy that the applied science education programs tend to be more effective in improving female students' scientific attitude and male students' science knowledge. It is necessary to develop more gender-inclusive science programs for female students to feel science more positively.

Teachers' Perception about 'Science Field Trip to Korean Historical Sites' ('한국 역사 속 과학탐방'에 대한 교사의 인식)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate teachers' perception about 'Science Field Trip(SFT) to Korean historical sites'. Ninety-seven teachers were asked to reply the questionnaire about SFT to Korean historical sites. This questionnaire was divided into three parts: educational value, teaching method, and difficulty of management. Firstly, teachers indicated that SFT to Korean historical sites had much educational value in that it could give students chances to understand Korean culture, to acquire investigative process skills, to experience divergent investigation and cooperative learning, to raise integrated thinking skill concerning science and other subjects, and to learn contents related with science curriculum. It also had advantages of caring for students out of school and giving the information for future occupation. Secondly, teachers suggested the desirable teaching method: teachers' explanation about SFT to Korean historical sites with worksheets before it, students' group work during it, and the presentation and discussion after it. Finally, the most frequent answer in the difficulty of management was the lack of teaching materialsfor SFT to Korean historical sites.

A Study on the Relationship between Cooks' Job Inconsistency and Job Performance on Intention of Changing Jobs (외식업체 조리사의 일자리 불일치와 직무성과 간의 관계가 이직의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study sought to examine the effects of job inconsistency of cooks in the food service businesses on job performance, and the effects of such causation on intention of changing jobs. For job inconsistency, cooks produce limited menu products due to the segmentation of jobs in the same industry, and can hardly exercise their skills obtained through education. Thus, 275 samples of job inconsistency were made to undergo frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlational analysis, and multiple regression analysis, using the SPSS 17.0 program. Hypothesis 1 was established as cooks' job inconsistency having a positive effect on job performance; thus, with regard to job performance factors, skill inconsistency (${\beta}$=-.432), and wage inconsistency (${\beta}$=-.250) had a negative effect on job performance, but education inconsistency (${\beta}$=-.048) did not have an effect. Hypothesis 2 was established as cooks' job performance having a significant effect on intention of changing jobs; thus, intention of changing jobs had a significant negative effect on job performance (${\beta}$=-.238). So if job performance was improved, the intention of changing jobs would be reduced. This study implies that: cooks who were engaging in the food service businesses experienced job inconsistency, and led themselves to having an intention to change jobs; in this process, individual cooks' job level inconsistency and their wage levels have an important effect on intention of changing jobs.

An analysis of changing interests in mathematics and strategic thinking reflected in small group drawing activities using graphs and inequations - With Grafeq software - (그래프와 부등식 영역의 소집단 그림그리기 활동에서 나타나는 수학에 대한 흥미변화 및 전략적 사고분석 -Grafeq 활용을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this research was to look at whether small group drawing activities can be applied to learning content that combine mathematics and art, by analyzing the changes in $10^{th}$ grade students' interests in mathematics and particular features of their strategic thinking that were reflected in small group drawing activities using graphs and inequations. The results of the study are as follows: 1. The small group drawing activity using graphs and inequations demonstrated that students interests in mathematics could experience positive changes. 2. The small group drawing activity using graphs and inequations was effective in stimulating the students' strategic thinking skills, which are higher level thinking activities necessary for creating problem solving. As the students went through the whole process of accomplishing a complete goal, the students engaged in integrated thinking activities that brought understandings of basic graphs and inequations together, and were also found to use such higher level thinking functions needed in achieving creative problem solving such as critical thinking, flexible thinking, development-oriented thinking, and inferential thinking. 3. The small group drawing activity using graphs and in equations could be expected to constitute learning content that integrate mathematics and art, and is an effective solution in boosting students' strengths in mathematics by way of activities that consider students' unique cognitive and qualitative peculiarities and through integration with art.
