  • The paper examines the determinants factor and business performance of global supply chain management. Partnership and process innovation were used as proxy for the characteristics of determinants factor of global supply chain management. Agility of business performance was used as proxy for the business performance of global supply chain management. Based on the analysis of sixty eight global supply chain management cases in Oil and Chemical Industry, the following results were found. Firstly, it was found that the process partnership of determinants factor affects agility of improved business performance. Secondly, process innovation of determinants factor was not improved more agility of improved business performance. However, there were several limitations such as characteristics of process innovation and partnership, etc.

  • In this study design information was separately defined form general product information and thus factors reflected in product design ion the basis of values and roles were extracted. The following is a classification of 5 different types of design factors divided according to their disposition. ·Innovation factor - element which previously did not exist or element related with explicit reformation ·Open factor - active element which not only improves current performance but also induces new functions through understanding of usage situations and new possibilities. ·Anterior factor - element which prolongs and develops the early development requirements of products through C.I. and P.I. related elements and characteristics of previous models and design strategy. Self-evidence factor - element related with function visualization through product structure which may make possible the consolidation of shape and function. Rigid factor - element, based on the human factors engineering, related with the safety and efficiency of users. This classification was obtained by defining major characteristics of products considering the target consumer and market characteristics. In this classification factor structuring design process which efficiently deducted a differentiated final product by synthesizing factors of higher importance as dominant factors was proposed. With this kind of factor structuring process, product differentiation may be achieved by bestowing individual characteristics to each product by combining design dominant factors associated with the product for a specific purpose from the stages of product concept development. Moreover, this may be used as an approach to actively correspond to the various and specific demands of the comsumer.

  • Factor analysis, an important research method, has been conducted as a pre-analysis of empirical researches. Sometimes, the researchers expect more information than factor analysis' limitation as well. Therefore, I suggest a method to overcome this problem. This study presents a combined research method which allow to solve the limitation of the factor analysis in social science. The combined research method consist of factor analysis, AHP(analytic hierarchy process) analysis, diffusion theory and system dynamics, which is able to explain causalities.

  • In case measurements are made on units of production in time order, it is reasonable to expect that the measurement errors will sometimes be first order autocorrelated, and a technique to test such autocorrelation is required to give good control of the productive process. Tool-wear process provide an example for which regression model can sometimes be useful in modeling and controlling the process. For the control of such process, we present a simple method for testing first order autocorrelation in regression errors. The method is based on Bayesian test method via Bayes factor and derived by observing that in general, a Bayes factor can be written as the product of a quantity called the Savage-Dickey density ratio and a correction factor ; both terms are easily estimated from Gibbs sampling technique. Performance of the method is examined by means of Monte Carlo simulation. It is noted that the test not only achieves satisfactory power but eliminates the inconvenience occurred in using the well-known Durbin-Watson test.

  • In this study, surface deformation patterns have been investigated by the rigid-plastic finite element method for friction factor test in solid cylinder compression process. AA1100 and AA6063 aluminum alloys, which show different work hardening characteristics respectively, have been adopted as model materials used for analysis. The main objective of this study is to provide the deformation mechanics in detail in solid cylinder compression process, especially at the die/workpiece interface that is closely related with the frictional conditions. For this reason, solid cylinder compression process has been numerically analyzed. The surface flow patterns at the contact boundary have been analyzed in terms of surface expansion, surface expansion velocity, pressure distributions exerted on the die surface along the die surface. By defining bulge factor, barreling phenomenon also have been examined with calibration curves to verify their effects on the surface flow pattern that is important for evaluating the frictional condition at the interface.

  • Stereolithography is a process used to rapidly produce polymer components directly from a computer-representation of the part. There are several considerations to be made for the efficient use of te process. Especially, the build-up orientation of part critically affect to the part accuracy, total build time and the volume of support structures. Te purpose of this study is to determine the optimal build-up part orientation for the SLA process with improving part accuracy, minimizing total build time, and the volume of supprot structures. The first factor is related to the area of surfaces which have staircase protrusions after solidification, the second factor is related to the total number of layers, and the third factor is related to the area of the surfaces which need to be supported with support structures. An algorithm is developed to calculate the staircase area with quantifying the process planning errors that the volume of materials is supposed to be removed or added to the part, and the optimal layer thickness for the SLA system whichcan hadle the variable layer thickness in different orientations achieved by rotating the given part to the specified finite directions. So the optimal part orientation is determined based on the user's selections of primary criterion and the optimal thickness of layers is calculated at any part orientations.

  • In this paper a new process capability index $C_{psks}$ is introduced for non-normal process. $C_{psks}$ that is proposed by transformation of the $C_{psks}$ incorporates an additional skewness correction factor in the denominator of $C_{psks}$. The use of each technique is illustrated by reference to a distribution system which includes the Pearson and Johnson functions. Accordingly, $C_{psks}$ is proposed as the process capability measure for non-normal process.

  • The industries use polymer materials for many purposes for they have many merits. The costs of these materials take up too great a proportion of the overall cost of products that use these materials as their major material. It is advantage for polymer industries to reduce these costs. The microcellular foaming process was developed in the early 1980s to solve this problem and proved to be quite successful. Microcellular foaming process uses inert gases such as $CO_2$, $N_2$. As these gases solve into polymer matrices, many properties are changed. The microcellular foaming process makes the glass transition temperature of polymers to low, and diminish the residual stress of polymer matrices. Besides, the microcellular foaming process has several merits, impact strength elevation, thermal insulation, noise insulation, and raw material saving etc. This characteristic of microcellular foaming process has influenced by cell morphology. The cell morphology means cell size and cell density. The cell morphology has influenced by many factors. The examples of factor are pressure drop rate, foaming temperature, foaming time, saturation pressure, saturation time etc. Among their factors, pressure drop rate is the most important factor for cell morphology in microcellular foaming injection molding process. This paper describes about the cell morphology change in accordance with the pressure drop rate of microcellular foaming injection molding process.

  • The controls of Information Systems (IS) have been an more critical issue controls as the sophistication and integration of IS is more proceeded. ITGI (The Information Technology Governance Institute) of ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association) has suggested COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and related Technology) and this has been widely recognized the evaluation model of IS controls. In COBIT, IS was evaluated in terms of process, information quality, and IT resources. This study used COBIT in order to suggest and empirically test an evaluation model of IS service. The data was collated from one major Chinese SI (Systems Integration) company in four domains of processes : planning and organization, acquisition and implementation, delivery and support, and monitoring. Seven factors are extracted using an exploratory factor analysis as follows : Overall IT planning process, technological assessment process in IT planning of IT, cost-benefit assessment process in IT planning, implementation process, support process, monitoring process, post-implementation evaluation process. The results of confirmatory analysis of three alternative measurement models indicated that the measurement model with one inherent or conceptual variable has greater model fitness than the other models. This study suggests the logical and general way to test and apply COBIT in evaluating IS services.
