The purpose of this study was to investigate the satisfaction of personnel selection process according to type of personnel manager and to examine whether the relationship between the type of personnel manager and the satisfaction with the personnel selection process was moderated by the applicant's perception of procedural justice. This study was conducted using a between-group design with 208 students from a four-year university in Korea. One group watched a video in which a human personnel manager selected employees and the other group watched a video in which an AI personnel manager selected employees. Participants were randomly assigned to a condition, responded to a demographic questionnaire, and answered measures of procedural justice and satisfaction with personnel selection after watching the video. As a result, the selection process satisfaction was significantly higher when the human personnel manager conducted the selection process than when the AI personnel manager conducted such process. In addition, when procedural justice was perceived as low, there was a significant difference in satisfaction between human and AI groups. However, when procedural justice was perceived as high, there was no significant difference in satisfaction between the two groups. Based on study results, the significance and limitations of this study and suggestions for future studies are discussed.
This paper introduces a study for procedurally generating the behavior of objects in a virtual environment at runtime. This study was initiated to enable the behavioral model of objects in virtual reality applications to evolve in response to user behavior at runtime. Our approach is to describe the behavior of an object as a behavior tree, and to make a node of the behavior tree change to another type if a certain condition is satisfied. We defined four types of node changes: "parameterized", "probabilistic", "alternate", and "variant". We experimented with a virtual environment that includes a variety of simple procedural elements to explore the possibilities of our approach. As a result of the implementation, if an optimization algorithm that can select and apply the optimized procedural elements in response to the user's behavior is complemented, it is confirmed that more intelligent objects and agents can be implemented in virtual reality applications.
Physics based fluid animation schemes need large computation cost due to tremendous degree of freedom. Many researchers tried to reduce the cost for solving the large linear system that is involved in grid-based schemes. GPU based algorithms and advanced numerical analysis methods are used to efficiently solve the system. Other groups studied local operation methods such as SPH (Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics) and LBM (Lattice Boltzmann Method) for enhancing the efficiency. Our method investigates this efficiency problem thoroughly, and suggests novel paradigm in fluid animation field. Rather than physics based simulation, we propose a robust boundary handling technique for procedural fluid animation. Our method can be applied to arbitrary shaped objects and potential fields. Since only local operations are involved in our method, parallel computing can be easily implemented.
The purpose of this study was to determine factors influencing patient satisfaction with medical services in hospital, which is classified into environmental aspect, human services and procedural services. Based on the results of literature review, the study focused on effects of social-demographical factors on patient satisfaction. The environmental aspect of medical care services included medical equipment and facilities, hygiene, ventilation, heating and air-conditioning, waiting and resting space, ward space and parking facilities. Procedural service included registration process, bill payment, waiting time after registration, examination and prescription as well as appointment process. Human services consisted of physicians listening to stories of patients, examination duration, physicians' explanation and physicians' service. As for nurses, explanation about disease, examination procedure and results, kindness and nursing care were evaluated. Services provided by other staff members were also evaluated. Patient satisfaction, defined as individual attitude toward medical service as a whole, was measured using a questionnaire. A total of 700 in-or out-patients were surveyed in 6 hospitals with more than 300 beds in North Gyeongbuk Province. 1. The level of patient satisfaction varied with characteristics of patients. Male patients and those in their 30s had a low level of satisfaction. Dissatisfaction level was positively related to education level but negatively related to economic condition. 2. As for patient satisfaction with medical service providers and other employees in hospital, satisfaction level with physician's explanation about treatment was higher. But dissatisfaction levels with treatment duration and the lack of explanation about examination procedures were high, calling for improvement. Dissatisfaction level with nursing care was high, calling for training of nurses for better service. Given the low level of satisfaction with human services, hospital employees need to be trained to improve their service. 3. It Was found that administrative service was also a significant factor influencing patient satisfaction in addition to medical service. It is therefore important for hospitals to provide patients with prompt and convenient procedural service. 4. Environmental factors such as medical equipment and amenity facilities also affected patient satisfaction. Thus environmental condition, procedural service and human service are all important to improve medical service in hospital. In summary, procedural service was the most significant factor for patient satisfaction. The level of satisfaction in patients was also affected by human service and environmental condition. It is therefore necessary to take patient-oriented approach in providing medical service in an effort to improve patient satisfaction. The finding of a lower level of satisfaction with human service signifies the need for training of healthcare providers and other hospital employees for better services. The introduction of advanced management programs is also needed to improve procedures that patients go through in hospitals.
The Supreme Court stand in the position in specific lawsuit that it doesn't allow the discretionary not covered service, but recently in revocation suit of fine disposal that is imposed on medical fee of leukemia patient, it altered the existing adjudgement and admitted the discretionary not covered service exceptionally. It put forward the allowable condition roughly in that case. According as this alteration, it has become more important to embody the allowance conditions of exceptions. The Supreme Court presented three things, which are procedural condition, medical condition and subscriber's agreement. Concerning procedural condition, several present conciliation procedures are as follows: medical care benefit arret request, relative value conciliation etc, prior request on anti-cancer drug among chemicals which exceed acceptance criteria, request of non benefit object on common drugs. To be granted the existence of those system, there should be no obstacle to use that. Even if it were so, we should take circumstances into consideration; individual situation is unescapable concerning substance and urgency of the discretionary not covered service, process of the procedure, time required etc. Regarding medical condition, safety and effectiveness will be verified through evaluation procedures of new medical skill. About the necessity, the Supreme Court made clear through a sentence that it allow the discretionary not covered service, in case that needs to treat a patient out of the standard of medical benefit. Strict interpretation is right and it answer the purpose of the sentence that the supreme court permit the discretionary not covered service, exceptionally. We need to differentiate medical necessity and medical validity. Subscriber's agreement should holds true if it entails full explanation, and if it is preliminary, explicit and individual. On this account, it should be difficult to admit that someone agree effectively when he call for the affirmation that he is recipient of medical care. Reasonable expense needs to be a part of review whether the agreement is valid. Meanwhile If we adjust system of medical expense and eventually reorganize a fee for consultation payment system (Fee-for-service controlled by item to DRG (Diagnosis Related Groups)), controversial area of the discretionary not covered service will be decreased and that will guarantee the discretion of the doctor.

This study was intended to identify the problem of the lien in relation to the real estate auction and present its improvements in terms of procedural laws. To resolve the problem of the lien in the real estate auction, it is valid that the Vollstreckungsgericht needs to set the certain standard in relation to the possession of real estate and notify it at the first date of sale by judging whether the lien can be established. And the institutional improvement is required to obligate one to report the lien in the procedures of the real estate auction and reinforce the survey of the present condition of the lien. And it is necessary to impose the more public confidence on the statement of sale by including the matter of the lien in it. In addition, it is necessary to reinforce legal punishment to the false and fictitious lienholder and establish the legal stability of the lien in the process of the real estate auction.

As a part of the configuration design expert system of machine tools, inference mechanisms are constructed in this paper. In addition to procedural inference, the method of multivariable inference is considered as an efficient approach to deal with the cases of highly coupled condition. We propose a generalized multivariable inference procedure. The procedure is applied to the type selection module of the configuration design expert system of machine tools in order to demonstrate the efficiency and validity.

The Monkey and Banana Problem is an example commonly used for illustrating simple problem solving. It can be solved by conventional approaches, but this requires a procedural aspect when inferences are processed, and this fact works as a limitation condition in solving complex problems. However, if we use DNA computing methods which are naturally able to realize massive parallel processing. the Monkey and Banana Problem can be solved effectively without weakening the fundamental aims above. In this paper, we design a method of representing the problem using DNA molecules, and show that various solutions are generated through computer-simulations based on the design. The simulation results are obviously interesting in that these are contrary to the fact that the Prolog program for the Monkey and Banana Problem, which was implemented from the conventional point of view, gives us only one optimal solution. That is, DNA computing overcomes the limitations of conventional approaches.

Background Most children with facial lacerations require sedation for primary sutures. However, sedation guidelines for invasive treatment are lacking. This study evaluated the current status of the sedation methods used for pediatric facial laceration repair in Korea. Methods We surveyed one resident in each included plastic surgery training hospital using face-to-face interviews or e-mail correspondence. The health care center types (secondary or tertiary hospitals), sedation drug types, usage, and dosage, procedure sequence, monitoring methods, drug effects, adverse events, and operator and guardian satisfaction were investigated. Results We included 45/67 hospitals (67%) that used a single drug, ketamine in 31 hospitals and chloral hydrate in 14 hospitals. All health care center used similar sedatives. The most used drug administered was 5 mg/kg intramuscular ketamine (10 hospitals; 32%). The most common chloral hydrate administration approach was oral 50 mg/kg (seven hospitals; 50%). Twenty-two hospitals (71%) using ketamine followed this sequence: administration of sedatives, local anesthesia, primary repair, and imaging work-up. The most common sequence used for chloral hydrate (eight hospitals; 57%) was local anesthesia, administration of sedatives, imaging work-up, and primary repair. All hospitals that used ketamine and seven (50%) of those using chloral hydrate monitored oxygen saturation. Median operator satisfaction differed significantly between ketamine and chloral hydrate (4.0 [interquartile range, 4.0-4.0] vs. 3.0 [interquartile range, 3.0-4.0]; p <0.001). Conclusion The hospitals used various procedural sedation methods for children with facial lacerations. Guidelines that consider the patient's condition and drug characteristics are needed for safe and effective sedation.
