  • In this paper, the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system with a precoder is considered in the transmit-correlated Rayleigh channels. We specifically target the MIMO system employing the minimum mean square error receivers. Based on random matrix theory, we first present a direct and generalized formulation for deriving a probability density function (PDF) of the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR). Then, we derive the accurate closed-form SINR PDFs for a small number of transmit and receive antennas. Based on the SINR PDFs, tight closed-form approximations of the symbol error rate (SER) are derived. Our analysis suggests that the SER approximations can be used to accurately estimate the error probabilities or as a useful tool for the system design.

  • In this paper, we represent Nakagami-m fading channel as finite-State Markov Channel (FSMC) and analyze the performance of wireless communication system with varying the fading channel condition. In FSMC model, the received signal's SNR is divided into finite intervals and these intervals are formed into Markov chain states. Each state is modeled by a BSC and the transition probability is dependent upon the physical characterization of the channel. The steady state probability and average symbol error rate of each state and transition probability are derived by numerical analysis and FSMC model is formed with these values. We found that various fading channels can be represented with FSMC by changing state transition index. In fast fading environment in which state transition index is large, the channel can be viewed as i.i.d. channel and on the contrary, in slow fading channel where state transition index is small, the channel can be represented by simple FSMC model in which transitions occur between just adjacent states. And we applied the proposed FSMC model to analyze the coding gain of random error correcting code on various fading channels via computer simulation.

  • Cyclic Delay Diversity (CDD) is a diversity scheme used in OFDM-based telecommunication systems, transforming spatial diversity into frequency diversity and thus avoiding intersymbol interference without entailing the receiver to be aware of the transmission strategy making the signal more reliable achieving full diversity gain in cooperative systems. Here the analyzation of the influence of CDD-SC scheme in Cognitive Radio Network (CRN) is done with the challenge of overcoming the complication called channel estimation along with overhead in CNR. More specifically, the closed-form expressions for outage probability and symbol error rate are divided under different frequencies among independent and identically distributed (i.i.d.) frequency selective fading channel model i.e., the signal is divided into different frequencies and transmitted among several narrow band channels of different characteristics. It is useful in the reduction of interference and crosstalk. The results reveal the diversity order of the proposed system to be mainly affected by the number of multipath components that are available in the CNR.

  • Security is an important issue for wireless communications and poses many challenges. Most security schemes have been applied to the upper layers of communications networks. Since in a typical wireless communication, transmission of data is over the air, third party receiver(s) may have easy access to the transmitted data. This work examines a new security technique at the physical layer for the sake of enhancing the protection of wireless communications against eavesdroppers. We examine the issue of secret communication through Rayleigh fading channel in the presence of an eavesdropper in which the transmitter knows the channel state information of both the main and eavesdropper channel. Then, we analyze the capacity of the main channel and eavesdropper channel we also analyze for the symbol error rate of the main channel, and the outage probability is obtained for the main transmission. This work elucidate that the proposed security technique can safely complement other Security approaches implemented in the upper layers of the communication network. Lastly, we implement the results in Mat lab

  • This paper presents a method for obtaining an exact average symbol error rate (ASER) of M-ary Phase Shift Keying (MPSK) for opportunistic amplify-and-forward (OAF) relay systems over Rayleigh fading channels. This is based on the relay selection probability when a relay is selected as the best one with respect to the received signal-to-noise ratio. We then derive the modified moment generating function (MGF) for OAF relay systems by taking the given relay selection probability into consideration. Based on the modified MGF, we derive the exact ASER which accurately explicates OAF relay system characteristics. Our results confirm that the derived ASER provides a tight upper bound for OAF relay systems.

  • The system using UWB is processing brisk study with Bluetooth among the wireless access that is major technology in Telematics. The low complexity and cost for realization is advantage of UWB have communication of high speed. Mamy papers have published on the timing jitter effect on system performance except for the UWB system. In this paper, we analyze the effect of timing jitter on M-ary UWB system using orthogonal Hermite pulse and perform the simulation to show symbol error rate performance. For theoretical analysis, we derive correlation function of orthogonal Hermits pulse with closed form, and as well upper bound of Symbol Error Probability for M-ary orthogonal Hermite pulse system mathematically. It is found that numerical analysis is accurate enough through simulation.

  • An exact experssion for the average symbol error rate(SER) of L-order selection diversity for MPSK signals in a frequency-nonselective slowy m-distributed Nakagami fading and additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) is determs of finite sums is obtained. To derive the SER of MPSK signals with selection combining, the new expression of pdf is introduced and many other mathmatical methods are used. When fading index m is 1, the derived exppression lead to those of MPSK with selection combining in Rayleight fading channels. The results show that the error probability decreases as the order of diversity increases.

  • WiFi Direct (WD) is a state of the art technology for a Device-to-Device (D2D) communication in 802.11 networks. The performance of the WD system can be significantly affected by some key factors such as the type of application, specifications of MAC and PHY layer parameters, and surrounding environment etc. It is, therefore, important to develop a system model that takes these factors into account. In this paper, we focus on investigating the design parameters of the PHY layer that could maximize the efficiency of the WD 802.11 system. For this purpose, a basic theoretical model is formulated for a WD network under a 2x2 Multiple In Multiple Out (MIMO) TGn channel B model. The design level parameters such as input symbol rate and antenna spacing, as well as the effects of the environment, are thoroughly examined in terms of path gain, spectral density, outage probability and Packet Error Rate (PER). Thereafter, a novel adaptive algorithm is proposed to choose optimal parameters in accordance with the Quality of Experience (QoE) for a targeted application. The simulation results show that the proposed method outperforms the standard method thereby achieving an optimal performance in an adaptive manner.

  • In dual-channel networks (DCNs), all frequency hopping (FH) sequences used for data channels are chosen from the original FH sequence used for the control channel by shifting different initial phases. As the number of data channels increases, the hitting frequency point problem becomes considerably serious because DCNs is non-orthogonal synchronization network and FH sequences are non-orthogonal. The increasing severity of the hitting frequency point problem consequently reduces the resource utilization efficiency. To solve this problem, we propose a novel hitting frequency point collision avoidance method, which consists of a sequence-selection strategy called sliding correlation (SC) and a collision avoidance strategy called keeping silent on hitting frequency point (KSHF). SC is used to find the optimal phase-shifted FH sequence with the minimum number of hitting frequency points for a new data channel. The hitting frequency points and their locations in this optimal sequence are also derived for KSHF according to SC strategy. In KSHF, the transceivers transmit or receive symbol information not on the hitting frequency point, but on the next frequency point during the next FH period. Analytical and simulation results demonstrate that unlike the traditional method, the proposed method can effectively reduce the number of hitting frequency points and improve the efficiency of the code resource utilization.

  • In this paper, another analytical approach for dual-hop amplify-and-forward(AF) relay systems is proposed over Rayleigh fading channels. Previous approaches derived the moment generating function(MGF) by using the cumulative distribution function(CDF) or probability density function(PDF) of the received signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) for source-relay-destination(S-R-D) link. Then, the average symbol error rate is expressed based on derived MGFs. In this paper, another new approach is proposed. It means that the MGF is directly derived by utilizing PDFs of both source-relay(S-R) and relay-destination(R-D) links. Additionary, the newly derived MGF is compared and analyzed with previous ones. Furthermore, simulation results are presented to validate the accuracy of proposed analytical expression. Based on this, it is confirmed that the proposed analytical approach can be a another solution for dual-hop AF relay systems.
