Magnetic Field 기반 수중무기체계 발화확률에 관한 연구 (A Study on Actuation Probability of Underwater Weapon Based on Magnetic Field)

  • 2010년 천안함 침몰로 인해 수중 폭발체의 위험성이 전시 뿐만 아니라 평시에도 대단히 중요하게 다뤄져야 하며, 그에 따른 방어대책이 필수적으로 필요함을 인지하게 되었다. 다양한 수중무기폭발 체계 중 대표적인 비닉(庇匿) 무기체계인 기뢰를 중심으로 탐지수단, 탐지방법, 위험 제거 방안 등에 대해 연구하며, 특히 탐지를 위한 대표적인 센서인 자력계 등의 데이터를 참조하여 발화확률 모사 시스템을 모델링하고, 아 해군 보유 함형에 따른 수심별 해석을 통해 발화확률 등을 시뮬레이션 하여 효과적인 탐지, 위협제거 및 궁극적인 대기뢰전 전술 등을 연구/제안한다.

Outage Probability for Cooperative Nano Communication in the THz Gap Frequency Range

  • Nanotechnology has provided a set of tools that the engineers can use to design and manufacture integrated nano devices, which are capable of performing sensing, computing, data storing and actuation. One of the main hurdles for nano devices has been the amount of power that it can generate for transmission of data. In this paper, we proposed cooperative nano communication in the Terahertz (THz) Gap frequency band to increase the range of transmission. Outage probability (OP) performances for the proposed cooperative nano communication networks in the THz band (0.1 - 10THz) have been evaluated for the following scenarios; A) A single decode-and-forward (DF) relay over independent identically distributed (i.i.d.) Rayleigh fading channels, B) DF multi-relay network with best relay selection (BRS) over i.i.d. Rayleigh fading channels, and C) DF multi-relay network with multiple hops with BRS over i.i.d. Rayleigh fading channels. The results show that the transmission distance can be improved significantly by employing DF relays. Also, it is shown that by increasing the number of hops in a relay the OP performance is marginally degraded. The analytical results have been verified by Monte-Carlo simulation.

  • Advancements in nanotechnology and novel nano materials in the past decade have provided a set of tools that can be used to design and manufacture integrated nano devices, which are capable of performing sensing, computing, data storing and actuation. ATWS Frequency Quantification Focusing on Digital I&C Failures

  • The multi-tasking feature of digital I&C equipment could increase risk concentration because the I&C equipment affects the actuation of the safety functions in several ways. Anticipated Transient without Scram (ATWS) is a typical case of safety function failure in nuclear power plants. In a conventional analysis, mechanical failures are treated as the main contributors of the ATWS. This paper quantitatively presents the probability of the ATWS based on a fault tree analysis of a Korea Standard Nuclear Power Plant is also presented. An analysis of the digital equipment in the digital plant protection system. The results show that the digital system severely affects the ATWS frequency. We also present the results of a sensitivity study, which show the effects of the important factors, and discuss the dependency between human operator failure and digital equipment failure.

공격 트리를 이용한 다양성보호계통 사이버보안 위험 평가 (Cybersecurity Risk Assessment of a Diverse Protection System Using Attack Trees)

  • Instrumentation and control systems measure and control various variables of nuclear facilities to operate nuclear power plants safely. A diverse protection system, a representative instrumentation and control system, generates a reactor trip and turbine trip signal by high pressure in a pressurizer and containment to satisfy the design requirements 10CFR50.62. Also, it generates an auxiliary feedwater actuation signal by low water levels in steam generators. Cybersecurity has become more critical as digital technology is gradually applied to solve problems such as performance degradation due to aging of analog equipment, increased maintenance costs, and product discontinuation. This paper analyzed possible cybersecurity threat scenarios in the diverse protection system using attack trees. Based on the analyzed cybersecurity threat scenario, we calculated the probability of attack occurrence and confirmed the cybersecurity risk in connection with the asset value.
