  • This study evaluated the importance of technical characteristics in manufacturing street furniture using 3D printing technology to suggest the direction of development of high priority 3D printing technology. The importance was analyzed by the QFD, quantified by scores and the priority of the items was summarized. As a result, the 'output size', 'shrinkage of material', and 'output angle' were derived as technical elements that should be prioritized in development and research. For verification, the design of atypical street furniture was made into a large 3D printed output and the development direction was suggested by applying the technical elements of priority during the manufacturing process. Street furniture should be designed based on functionality and stability, as well as economic efficiency, productivity, and aesthetics. Therefore, the 'output size' ensured stability by minimizing the division of parts, and the 'contractability of materials' satisfied the aesthetic and productivity by minimizing the error of form. Finally, the 'output angle' was verified by improving the quality of the output and selecting an angle with efficient and structural stability through various output angles.

  • The evaluation of the print quality of 3D printing has traditionally relied on manual work using dimensional measurements. However, the dimensional measurement method has an error value that depends on the person who measures it. Therefore, we propose the design of a new print quality measurement method that can be automatically measured using the field-of-view (FOV) model and the intersection over union (IoU) technique. First, the height information of the modeling is acquired from a camera; the output is measured by a sensor; and the images of the top and isometric views are acquired from the FOV model. The height information calculates the height ratio by calculating the percentage of modeling and output, and compares the 2D contour of the object on the image using the FOV model. The contour of the object is obtained from the image for 2D contour comparison and the IoU is calculated by comparing the areas of the contour regions. The accuracy of the automated measurement technique for determining, which derives the print quality value was calculated by averaging the IoU value corrected by the measurement error and the height ratio value.

  • Producing printing plate is essential progress to do offset printing. In this Film-less period, the more PS plate becomes extinct, the more the age of the Plate-Making of Exposure declines the place to stand. To do offset printing, the CTP (Computer to Plate) is taking a place of PS plate that covers speed, quality and economical problems. The biggest advantage of using CTP is that laser directly goes to the plate, thus there are no dust from the Plate-Making of Exposure. It is also theoretically able to print 200lpi${\sim}$300lpi as well as print 1751pi, because it has over 2400dpi resolution. The high quality printing could be available inside of the country, if printing machine keeps the optimum condition in offset printing. The CTP has many advantages, however there is a difficulty for the operators to preserve the equipment. The actual circumstance is that they cannot make a decision about how many dots need to be generated, and also it is necessary to know how to establish the setup at RIP on CTP to make the optimum condition output. If offset printing machine keeps the optimum condition, it would be able to print up to high quality printing however it is hard to comment what is the optimum condition for the printing machine. Anyone could say easy subjectively that machine is in the optimum condition, however it is objectively hard to estimate by number. In this research GATF / Plate Test target used to analyze the image and to make numerical value of the optimum condition of the CTP. It also used GATF / The sheep fed test printing 5.0 to know the density of the color representation, dot gain and gray balance for the optimum condition of the print machine. The purpose of this research is to represent the ISO 12647-2 which is the international standard with domestic printing equipments.

  • In this paper, to evaluate the output quality of the cementitious composite mixture for printing with the ME method for construction 3D printer, visual inspection of the output appearance and the dimensional error rate, compressive strength and flexural strength of the output were measured. As a result of the test, the mixing design with excellent output appearance was P1-2, P1-4, P2-5, P2-6, and the mixing design with good output appearance was P0-1, P1-1, P1-3, P1-6, P1-7 and P2-4. Of these mixing designs, P0-1 and P2-6 had the lowest dimensional error rates As a result of evaluating the compressive strength and flexural strength of the various mixing designs, the Mixing design with excellent output designs showed good mechnical properties. However, mixing designs with excellent mechanical properties does not necessarily have excellent output quality. Therefore, in order to accurately evaluate the output quality, it is judged that visual inspection and dimensional error rate inspection should be performed first, and then the mechanical characteristics should be reviewed.

  • One of the important roles of worflow is color management. In general, color management technique, which is called CMS(color management system), is a method to solve problems that show different characteristics of color regeneration in output devices, and the characteristics of output devices is created in data file called ICC(International Color Consortium) profile. In addition, ICC profile is used to manage color in workflow, and includes other functions, process management and printing quality management. In domestic printing market, workflow is in the pipeline at rapid speed along with CTP, and use of ICC profile required for color management is also in rapid progress. Therefore, this paper produced optimal ICC profile through experiment from the work of linearizing devices used in each field to color conversion work. Moreover, the paper confirmed how ICC profile will be used in printing field. In the profiling experiment based on hardcopy proofing, photographed copy and chrominance were compared by printing out in proof the image created through application and color conversion with the use of camera profile and proof profile produced in colorimetric method. By evaluating if color is expressed accurately from input to output through colorimetric color conversion experiment as above, the paper intended to propose color management method using optimal profile in printing process.

  • FM screening has been praised for its apparent resolution advantage over conventional AM screening. FM screening is also known for its criticalness of film output and difficulties in the proofing stage because of the microdot formation. However, FM screening is not a well understood process from press performance point of view. This study was carried out for the purposed of introduction the availability of hifi-offset printing to domestic printing industries and evaluating the print qualities between 300pli AM screen and FM screen with the equivalent sized microdots to 4-5% dot area of the 300lpi AM screen, together with comparing with the 175lpi AM screen representing a conventional printing. Solid density, dot gain, color gamut and some other quality properties were measured and discussed.

  • Recently, the use of color data is growing fast in the area of image processing. To represent full resolution image on a limited output device, image has to be quantized an dithered. So, many dithering techniques are foundd in the printing. In this paper, we propose nonlinear quantization to consider the overlapping phenomena of neighboring printing dots and modified dot diffusion algorithm to compensate the color degradation produced in the quantization process. In the modified dot-diffusion quantization errors to be diffused are adjusted to improve both image blur and color change produced in the dot diffusion. The printed image obtained by the proposed color dithering method has higher visual quality an less color degradation than the images by conventional printing method.

  • The printer noise consists of the noise of the various components and parts such as motor, fan and solenoid. And the human's printing sound recognition shows various aspects when the printer starts to print papers because the components operate at the same time. Especially, printers are usually installed in the quiet office room. Therefore the printing noise is related to its competitiveness in the market. The importance of the printer sound qualities is increasing and it is necessary to develop the sound quality evaluation system, so it is a key point to identify the noise source of the printer and develop the sound quality index to each component. By using this evaluation system, it is possible to evaluate the sound quality of a prototype printer compared to the already existing one. In this paper, the printer sound quality evaluation system was developed by the following steps. Firstly, the signal processing method was applied to the recorded printing sound to identity and split the noise of components. Secondly, the MLR(multiple linear regression) method and the psychoacoustics were used to develop the sound quality index. Finally, the improvement of the printer sound quality is possible by using the result of the MLR and the path analysis. The output of this research will be applied to the development of a new printer.
