This study examined the relationship of childrearing involvement, husband-wife relationship and parental growth of fathers of preschool children. Data were derived from a survey of 487 pairs of fathers and mothers of preschool children. The principal findings were that fathers who took a greater role in childrearing had better husband-wife relationships. Fathers who took on more childrearing involvement experienced "a broadening of one's vision" and/or "self-regulation" in growth as a parent. Father's childrearing involvement indirectly influenced parental growth through the medium of husband-wife relationship.

In Korea mobile phone subscribers exceeded 1 million people in 1995, and ten million people in 1998. Prevalence of the mobile phone increased dramatically over 110% compared to the population. Almost every family members including children uses more than one mobile terminal. Mobile phone is obviously more necessary good than washer, vacuum cleaner and passenger car. Our daily life are conveniently positioned with mobile communication, but communication related costs including the price of the device and service charges become a big burden on the household. But the government does not seem to do the right role at the right time to prevent the market failure to maximize consumer welfare and social welfare through supporting fair competition. This principal-agent problem issues of mobile communication policies will be understood in perspective of public choice against joint use of the mobile communication network, number portability, separation of phone distribution and phone service, network neutrality, mobile phone subsidy since the early 1990s when mobile phone service was introduced in Korea.

The interactive diffusion of technological knowledge across industries is reckoned as the principal determinant of the industrial competitiveness in the knowledge-based economy. The flow of technological knowledge takes place through two major channels, embodied and disembodied ones. This paper analyzes, from the dynamic perspective, the functional role and changing relationship of major Korean industries in terms of embodied and disembodied technological knowledge flow-structures during 1980s. We measure, as a proxy, the knowledge by the number of R&D researchers. The inter-industrial embodied and disembodied knowledge flows are measured by the input-output technique and the technological similarity is quantified according to the R&D researchers'academic background, respectively. Based on the comparative and correlation analysis between the two knowledge flow-structures, it is found that there exist, albeit not striking, both similarities and differences between them. However, interestingly and indicatively, we find that the two flow structures become more similar as time goes by. Some explanatory comments and policy implications are presented.

The aim of this study is to understand the meaning of Form drawing in which Louis 1. Kahn's principal thought is immanent through the detail analysis on design process of the Phillips Exeter Academy Library, based on his sketches and writings. The basic form is composed of three different space: one where students come together in the presence of books, another for the storage of books, and a third for reading in the light. Through the design process in the Exeter library, the basic form is maintained and it is derived from the consideration of the human activities in the library Particularly, the basic form is shaped around the idea that learning necessarily Involved two complementary activities: on the one hand, the quiet introspective act of reading, and the other, the interpersonal exchange of ideas. And the basic form plays an important role in controlling the relationship between program requirements and formal transformations in the design.

An independent bank guarantee(aka an independent guarantee) is provided as an security on a principal obligor's performance of his obligation, and a guarantor should pay the guaranteed amount only upon a beneficiary's written demand. A standby letter of credit has been used in the United States, since it was construed that a bank should not issue a guarantee. There was wide misunderstanding that a standby letter of credit differs from an independent bank guarantee. However, a standby letter of credit is the same security as an independent bank guarantee, and in international business a standby letter of credit is not differentiated from a independent bank guarantee. An independent bank guarantee are independent from the underlying contract, unconditional, and irrevocable. And a guarantor should pay upon written demand without proving a principal obligor breaches the underlying contract. These features of an independent bank guarantee has been abused in international transactions. Thus it has been proposed that some exceptions to the features of an independent bank guarantee should be allowed. United Nations Convention on Independent Guarantees and Standby Letter of Credit(1995) stipulates some exceptions to payment obligation. Export bond insurance, a part of export insurances, operated by the Korea Export Insurance Corporation under the Export Insurance Act, is used as a security for unfair calling by a beneficiary under an independent bank guarantee. Most of the export subsides by the government are prohibited under WTO's Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures. However, as export insurance is allowed under the WTO, it operates a significant role in enhancing the export. In the event that export bond insurance is provided for a guarantor, an obligor who is subject to recourse by a guarantor, can be exempt from the recourse in case of unfair calling. The Korea Export Insurance Corporation, an insurer, bears unfair calling risk by a beneficiary. Generally it is understood that a demand shall be made before the expiry of an independent bank guarantee. However this is not absolutely true, it shall be decided by URDG, ISP98, the governing law.

This study is a research on the etiology in Wu Youke's wenyi theory. In regard to the etiology of epidemic disease that had been spread on a very large scale at that time, Wu Youke denied the traditional theory which urged the irregular change of climate as the cause of epidemic disease, and proposed the concept of 'zaqi' which was considered by him to be something that could be the real cause of epidemic disease. And He treated the wenyi disease as something that has the same meaning with wenbing, so his concept on wenbing was basically the thing that treats 'zaqi' as the fundamental cause of wenbing and treats the concept of 'wen(溫)' as an environmental cause that could help activate the virulence of 'zaqi'. Such concept like this was the thing somewhat different from the traditional etiological theory that considers the change of climate as the principal cause of waigan(外感)-disease, and it must for the most part have been originated from the experience of Wu Youke himself. But this study, in contrast, based on the thing he denied the traditional theory on the irregular change of climate, has been done in the point of view that fundamental concept of his wenyi theory such as 'zaqi' was not only originated from his clinical experience but also from the influence of paradigm shift in the natural philosophy of that time. There had been so much change in cosmology and natural philosophy from the fundamental basis at that time, and the the most principal concept of it was that there always exists irregular faces in the change of nature. Such concept like this got into its stride from about 17th century, and it was expressed in the form of the severe criticism against the traditional natural philosophy. In regard to this, this study has outlined the academic thought of the leading scholars who made a significant progress in such a paradigm shift, and it includes the scholars like Wang Tingxiang, Wang Fuzhi, Hu Wei, Huang Zongxi, who played their role in the time of the latter period of Ming dynasty and the former period of Qing dynasty.

Capsaicin(8-methyl-N-vanillyl-6-nonenamide) is the principal pungent component of Capsicum fruits. This work is directed to the capsaicin-hydrolyzing enzyme playing a key role in the rate limiting and critical step of capsaicin metabolism. In order to get precise information on the enzyme's subcellular location, rat liver homogenate was divided into six subcellular fractions by differential centrifugation technique: crude nuclear pellet, PNS(post nuclear supernatant) fraction, lysosomal pellet, cytosol, Tris wash fraction, micrisomes. Capsaicin-hydrolysing enzyme activity was analysed by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC). This enzyme was found at the highest specific activity in the microsomal fraction and co-distributed with marker enzymes of the endoplasmic reticulum, NADPH-cytochrome c reductase and nucleoside diphosphatase. This is compatible with the result of ninhydrin color reaction of vanillylamine, primary metabolite of capsaicin hydrolysis, on thin layer chromatography(TLC). This enzyme is most active at pH $8.0{\sim}9.0$. Definite subcellular location of this enzyme will make it easy to proceed with further study.

China and South Korea have effectively reached a free trade agreement. The deal now faces legal and parliament reviews in the two countries. We need to discuss the recommendations on XML conversion with UN / CEFACT electronic documents. To solve this problem of interworking between these standards, Two kinds of translation rules is proposed for exchanging to UN / CEFACT Tag smoothly. For development and distribution of electronic documents to be conformed to international standards, it is enough to have the role of international activities continue to supply part of the domestic industry and the trends in participation and international standard. Our principal focus is on facilitating national and international transactions, through the simplification and harmonization of processes, procedures and information flows, and so contributing to the growth of global commerce. The agreement with South Korea will be China's ninth bilateral FTA.

One of the most significant UUV(Unmanned Underwater Vehicle) applications is MCM(Mine Countermeasure), which makes good use of UUV characteristics to provide covert, rapid, controlled and efficient survey of a potential minefield without risking a human operator. In this paper, a survey of the today's MCM missions where UUVs will play a role, the vehicle systems that are either under development or planned in the future are presented. And examines principal technical challenges and outline new enabling technologies. Particularly, this paper analyses current approaches to tacking these technologies and technological limitation of UUVs as a MCM platform, and research efforts to develop the technology necessary to meet the domestic MCM mission needs.

In this paper, we propose multiple component neural network(MCNN) which learn partitioned patterns in each multiple component neural networks by reducing dimensions of input pattern vector using PCA (principal component analysis). Procesed neural network use Oja's rule that has a role of PCA, output patterns are used a slearning patterns on small component neural networks and we call it CBP. For simply not solved patterns in a network, we solves it by regenerating new CBP neural networks and by performing dynamic partitioned pattern learning. Simulation results shows that proposed MCNN neural networks are very small size networks and have very fast learning speed compared with multilayer neural network EBP.
