This paper describes the application of a passive noise cancellation method to a prototype inductor-inductor-capacitor (LLC) resonant converter by placing a compensation winding in a transformer to reduce common mode noise. The connection method for the compensation winding is investigated. A circuit analysis is implemented for the displacement currents between the primary and secondary windings in the transformer. The analyzed displacement currents are verified by performing a circuit simulation and a proper compensation winding connection that reduces common mode noise is found. The measurement results show that common mode noise is reduced effectively up to 20 dB in the 1 to 7 MHz frequency region for the prototype LLC resonant converter by using the proposed passive noise cancellation method.

In this paper, we investigated the operational characteristics of the fault current limiting in the The flux-lock type high-Tc superconducting fault current limiter. The flux-lock type high-Tc superconducting fault current limiter was consisted of primary and secondary copper coils that flux was locked on iron core and YBCO thin film. The operational characteristic of a flux-lock type SFCL dependent on winding direction of coil 1 and coil 2, and the number of turns of coil 1 and coil 2, inductances of the coils, saturation in iron core, the properties of superconducting element etc. In this cases, we investigated the fault currents limiting characteristics of the flux-lock type SFCL when winding direction of coil 1 and coil 2 was subtractive polarity winding.
This paper presents a new step-up and step-down multi-pulse auto-transformer rectifier unit (ATRU) topology. This structure can achieve a wide range of output voltages, which solves the problem of auto-transformer output voltage being difficult to regulate. Adding middle taps to the primary winding and reasonably setting the number of auto-transformer windings, constituted two groups of three-phase output voltages with a $30^{\circ}$ phase difference. Multi-pulse output DC voltage is obtained after a three-phase output voltage across two rectifier bridges and inter-phase reactor. Thus, the output DC voltage is related to the number and configuration of the auto-transformer winding. In this paper, the relationship between the voltage ratio of the auto-transformer and the ratio of winding, input current and auto-transformer kilovoltampere rating are deduced and validated by simulations. On this basis, the output voltage range is optimized. An experiment on two different voltage ratio principle prototypes was carried out to verify the correctness of the analysis design.
In this paper, the inductive power collector using electromagnetic induction for vehicle such as the PRT(Personal Rapid Transit) system is suggested and some ideas for power collector design to improve the power transfer performance are presented. The proposed the inductive power collector is used for the PRT system, which has a large air-gap and demands a large electrical power capability. But, low output power is generated due to a loosely coupled characteristic of the large air-gap. Therefore, double layer construction of secondary winding, which was divided in half to increase both output current and output voltage was suggested. Also, a model of power collector and parallel winding structure and a model of concentration/decentralization winding are presented, in addition, the performance of inductive power collector to alignment condition between the primary power line and the inductive power transformer was verified by computer simulation of 2kW model.

This paper describes a compensation algorithm for a measurement voltage transformer (VT) based on the hysteresis characteristics of the core. The error of the VT is caused by the voltages across the primary and secondary windings. The latter depends on the secondary current whilst the former depends on the primary current, i.e. the sum of the exciting current and the secondary current. The proposed algorithm calculates the voltages across the primary and secondary windings and add them to the measured secondary voltage for compensation. To do this, the primary and secondary currents should be estimated. The secondary current is obtained directly from the secondary voltage and used to calculate the voltage across the secondary winding. For the primary current, in this paper, the exciting current is decomposed into the two currents, i.e. the core-loss current and the magnetizing current. The core-loss current is obtained by dividing the primary induced voltage by the core-loss resistance. The magnetizing current is obtained by inserting the flux into the flux-magnetizing current curve. The calculated voltages across the primary and secondary windings are added to the measured secondary current for compensation. The proposed compensation algorithm improves the error of the VT significantly.

Our research team proposed a flux-offset type fault current limiter as a new limiter. The flux-offset type fault current limiter uses a fault current limit technology based on the flux offset principle of the primary and secondary windings of a transformer. Stable fault current limit characteristics were achieved through a preliminary study. However, it was discovered that the initial fault current was not limited. Therefore, in this paper, a high-speed interrupter and a superconducting element were separately applied to the secondary winding of the flux-offset type fault current limiter and the operating characteristics were comparatively analyzed. In the experiment, when the superconducting element was applied to the secondary winding of the transformer, the initial fault current was limited while the limitation in the operation time was further shortened.

In this paper, we compared the current limiting characteristics of both the hybrid type and the flux-lock type superconducting fault current limiters(SFCLs), which have a magnetic coupling structure between a primary winding and several secondary windings. The limiting impedances of two SFCLs were derived from each equivalent circuit considering the design parameters of SFCL such as the self-inductance of secondary winding and the resistance of $high-T_C$ superconducting(HTSC) element. Through the comparison for the limiting impedances of two SFCLs considering the dependence of the HTSC element's resistance on the applying voltage into the SFCL, the hybrid type SFCL was confirmed to have larger limiting impedance with smaller resistance of HTSC element than the flux-lock type SFCL. It was expected from the analysis that the hybrid type SFCL was more advantageous than the flux-lock type SFCL from the viewpoint of the fault current limiting level.
The second harmonic component is commonly used for blocking differential relay in Power transformers. However it is difficult to distinguish between inrush and internal winding fault with differential current protective relaying. This paper proposed a new method using nuro-fuzzy. The used data in nuro-fuzzy algorithm are 3-phase primary voltage and fundamental harmonic of differential current. Various states of transformer are simulated using BCTRAN and HYSDAT of EMTP. As a result of applying the algorithm in various cases, the correct discrimination between internal winding fault and inrush performed.
This paper presents a method to analyze a forward converter. A transformer is coupled with the forward converter electric circuit and then the finite element analysis considering a hysteresis phenomenon of magnetic core is carried out when the primary or the reset winding conducts current. The analytical method is used to reduce the computation time when the reset winding circuit of the transformer turns off. As a result, the simulation results show a good agreement with experimental ones.
