Analysis of the Perception on the Foodservice' Attributes and Price by Types of Kindergarten Establishment: An Application of Price Sensitivity Measurement (PSM) Technique (유치원 설립유형별 학부모의 급식 품질속성 및 급식비 인식 분석: PSM 기법의 적용)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception of the quality of school meals by parents of kindergarten children in Seoul, analyze the acceptance price and the optimal school meal cost using PSM (price sensitivity measurement) techniques, and provide basic data for improving the quality of kindergarten meals. The survey was conducted using descriptive statistics and PSM analysis of the responses of 1,272 parents of 779 kindergarten children belonging to the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education from April to May 2021 and prior research analysis related to kindergarten meals. 74.1% of the parents surveyed were women, with 61% of children attending kindergartens attached to elementary schools, followed by private kindergartens (28.9%) and public kindergartens (10.1%). According to a study of the quality of meals, private kindergarten parents are highly satisfied with all the quality attributes of meals, such as "sanitation of dining environment" and "nutritionally balanced food" (p<0.001, p<0.01). The analysis of the acceptance price range and the optimal price for school meals showed that there was no significant variation based on the type of kindergarten establishment, with parents' acceptance price range ranging from 3,596 won to 4,454 won with an optimal price of 3,948 won.

  • The multi-faceted influence of price on consumers' purchasing process of apparel products: Relationships with attitudinal and behavioral variables Price has a significant relationship to clothing products not only because of its practical, emotional and symbolic attributes but also because of its wide range and frequent changes. The purpose of this study was to identify the multi-faceted influence of price on consumers' purchasing process of clothing products. Six types of price-perceptions were related to various attitudinal and behavioral variables in a clothing purchase. A questionnaire was developed and data were collected from 720 adult women living in Seoul. Factor analysis, multiple regression, t-test and canconical correlation were employed to analyze the data. Low price consciousness was negatively related to product-oriented aspects of clothing and effected the one-price sale, visiting public markets and using interpersonal sources of price information. Value for money consciousness was positively related to product-oriented aspects of clothing and consumers' age or marriage and effected price considerations at the on-purchase and post-purchase stage. Price-quality inference was related to product-oriented and market-oriented aspects of clothing while price-prestige inference was related to visual and symbolic aspects of clothing and effected normal-price purchasing. Sale proneness was related to market-oriented aspects of clothing and effected seasonal sale price purchasing and price mavenism was related to market-oriented and visual aspects of clothing and effected price considerations at the pre-purchase stage.

Effects of Retail Tensile Pricing Strategy Based on Consumer Self-confidence

  • Purpose - Pricing strategy is a very effective marketing activity and has a significant impact on consumer purchasing decisions. Numerous studies have investigated the effects of various pricing strategies. However, tensile price claims have received little attention in the literature. It is thus necessary to investigate how different forms of tensile price claims affect consumer response. This study uses the consumer self-confidence level as a moderator of consumer behavior. Research Research design, data, and methodology - This study investigates the effect of four different tensile price claims (i.e., maximum discount, minimum discount, average discount, and range discount advertisements) on consumers' perceived savings. A survey was conducted to collect data for testing hypotheses. Results - The results show that consumers with high levels of self-confidence perceive more savings for maximum discount advertisements than minimum discount advertisements, for range discount advertisements than average discount advertisements. On the other hand, consumers with low self-confidence feel more perceived savings for average discount advertisements than range discount advertisement. Conclusions - The results of this study provide a new insight into the effectiveness of tensile pricing based on consumer self-confidence levels, which may provide valuable theoretical and practical applications.

Permission Evaluation of the Price Hike of University Meal Service (대학교급식의 가격 상승 허용 평가)

  • The price hike of university meal service hasn't increased as much as the rise in prices. Accordingly, it is necessary to make the school meal service better and make its image students think of improved, and it needs a proper increase. This study examines the permission evaluation of price hike of university meal service by analyzing students' behavior of using school meal service, restaurants they use, the price range of the meal service. It also investigates how the management of university meal service influences its price hike rate. The result of the study is as follows. Students are sensitive to price increase of school meal service because it hasn't been improved compared with its price. As a result of the evaluation of satisfaction with price in school meal service, its quality is bad compared with the restaurants outside school even though there isn't much difference between their prices. In addition, the cross tabulation analysis shows that there is significant difference between the restaurants students use and the price hike rate; there isn't significant difference between the price range of the meal service and the price hike rate; there is significant difference between the proper management of the meal service and the price hike rate. This study has a limit because it analyzes proper price and the quality of the restaurants comparing school cafeterias and the restaurants outside a university; however, it should be basic information for the improvement of university meal service in that the second most important reason why university students use a school cafeteria is price.

  • As needs for telecommunications services diversify, an increasingly wide range of telecommunications services is becoming available in the market. Any subscriber can find a service to satisfy his/her telecommunication requirements and competition between providers to retain heavy users is increasing. Service price reductions are one retention strategy, although price reductions for one service can affect the individual-level usage for other services. Price reductions can also be imposed on a service provider by regulation. For these reasons, understanding how price reductions affect service usage is of growing importance to the telecommunications industry for purposes of pricing and tariff development. In this paper, we develop an individual-level usage model for telecommunications services and analyze the effects on usage of a price reduction. We apply the model to age-stratified aggregate traffic data for a Korean mobile telecommunication service provider. Finally, we develop a model to support a market segmentation and price reduction strategy.

  • This study is carried out to find out Chinese cabbage price sensitivity of consumer. Even though Chinese cabbage is the most important vegetable in our country, the price fluctuation continues to be changed ever year. However, there was no price criteria which is low, high, optimum price level for stabilization policies. In this paper, we investigated urban consumer price sensitivity by using the price sensitivity measurement(PSM), and then suggest to farmer and policy maker the results. The purchasing attribute Chinese cabbage of consumer will be provided to farmer. Optimal willingness to pay price of Chinese cabbage was analyzed between 1,991~2,018 won per head. If the consumer price were formated that price range, the costs will be able to satisfied both producers and consumers. The consumer's acceptable price range was from lower price (PMC) 1,472 won to the upper limit price of 2,714 won (PME). So when the market price researched above 2,714 won, import should be considered. The most important attribute when purchasing was a taste of cabbage, and he most suitable size was 3kg per head.

Effects of the Characteristics of the JooTeakYeonKeum Contract on Its Termination (주택연금의 특성이 계약해지에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigated the factors influencing the termination of the JooTeakYeonKeum contract according to its rate increase, and aimed to identify the differences in the factors affecting the cancellation of the contract according to the collateralized house price range. The results showed that the higher the cumulative increase rate of the mortgage housing price at the time of subscription is, the higher the monthly payment, the larger the gap between the monthly payment and the minimal living expenses for aging, the lower the net population moving rate in the previous month, and the lower the cumulative mortgage. Moreover, the JooTeakYeonKeum contract is terminated. The factors affecting the termination of the contract are different in each interval of the price range of the mortgage housing. To confirm this, a mortgage price range model was constructed and analyzed. The results showed that 60% of the elderly participants in the JooTeakYeonKeum program subscribed thereto with a below-average subsidized housing price. It was confirmed that the factors affecting the termination of the contract differ by price range. Lowering the risk of increasing the JooTeakYeonKeum termination rate will be a significant way of boosting the welfare of elderly people aged 65 and older, and of easing the impact of population aging.

  • Recently, Bluetooth has been regarded as a new technology for short-range wireless connection. Although initial application of Bluetooth technology has been focused mainly on replacing cables between hand-held devices due to a limited packet size and short-range, general wireless telecommunication such as PAN and Ad hoc networks via Bluetooth-equipped devices is expected to be one of the most popular applications. Wireless equipments have been used to exchange data between host and mobile unit. The exchanging data may be several bytes of control command and the value of sensors with ultra-sonic, vision sensor, and encoder from mobile robot. However, most wireless equipments have some drawbacks such as lack of authentication, large size and high price. On the other hand, the benefits of Bluetooth are small size, low power, low price except short-range. Especially, there are some difficulties when wireless modules are used in indoor environments. In this paper, a method of using wire network in Bluetooth network is investigated as a solution to overcome the short-range problem of Bluetooth and difficulty in indoor environment.

K-1 Tank Life Cycle Cost Estimate Using PRICE Model (PRICE 모델을 이용한 K1전차 수명주기 비용추정)

  • Cost estimation has posed a significant challenge to estimators, planners, and managers in both government and military. Considerable historical evidence shows that accurate cost estimation has been difficult to achieve across a wide range of projects, including weapon systems. This paper introduces new cost estimating concept, CAIV(Cost As an Independent Variable) and a cost estimating case study using PRICE model, computer aided parametric estimating models(CAPE) for K1 tank cost estimate. CAIV concept is to set realistic but aggressive cost objectives easily in each acquisition program and to achieve cost, schedule, and performance objectives considering various managing risks with a project manager and industry teams. The Price model is one of computer aided cost estimating models and widely used in U.S. defense system analysis as a tool for CAIV. We analyze theories, inputs, outputs of the PRICE model and present a case study for K1 tank to estimate costs in requirement and concept phase, program and budgeting phase, and life cycle phase. Finally we obtain results that the Price model can be used in various phases of PPBEES depending upon available data and time.

  • Producer prices of raw milk include following elements: a basic price, payment according to fat content, payment according to bacteriological quality and somatic cell count. The quality of raw milk has increased since last change of payment system according somatic cell count. But last change of payment system according to fat content is not effective. It is necessary to widen the range of equal price by fat content. Also it is necessary to include payment according to protein content.
