Currently, Safety accidents have been raised & more concerned despite that Government has emphasized on preventing accidents in construction area of Korea. An accident is due to several causes of it, thus this the study, as the above, will specify the methodology to establish more effective safety prevention plan, itself, compared to most studies being based on a case, specially for the projects under Far-East District, Corps of Engineers, USA. Additionally, this study will be limitted for performance method and the projects will not be classified with the same sorts as domestic ones are.

The lifeboats of ship is necessary for protection of seafarer's safety. However, it have happened many accident on the Free-fall lifeboat. Hence, This study describes IMO's efforts and some solutions against constructional problem of Free-fall lifeboat regulated by SOLAS CONVENTION for prevention accident with lifeboats.

Korea's elevator industry is one of the world's eighth-largest industrial sectors and the third largest in the world by new installations. This year, the number of elevators has exceeded 700,000, and the number of new installations is 30,000-40,000 every year. However, the news of elevator-related accidents is reported continuously through the media and the accident rate is not decreasing. In particular, among the recent accidents related to elevators, accidents related to elevator workers are increasing, causing social problems. This year, the National Assembly's Environmental Labor Relations Commission's National Auditors lost five lives a year and 12 elevator workers were killed in fall and stenosis accidents during the installation, maintenance and replacement of the elevators for about two years since 2018. It took place to adopt the representatives of four domestic elevator companies as witnesses. An elevator worker is a collective term for workers involved in the design, manufacturing, installation, replacement, maintenance, inspection, management, and supervision related to the elevator industry, and the related accidents are called elevator worker accidents. Analysis of elevator-related accidents in the past has shown that the fault of the user accounted for 70% of the total, and the fault of the worker accounted for about 2.5%, and the accident occurred to the user or the user due to carelessness of the worker during the lift-related work. Currently, elevator-related accidents are reported by the Korea Elevator Safety Agency under Article 48 of the Elevator Safety Management Act under the Ministry of Interior and Safety. If deemed necessary for the prevention and prevention of recurrence of an elevator accident, the cause and condition of the elevator accident may be investigated. However, the current draft law is limited only to elevators after installation inspection, and is separated from the Ministry of Employment and Labor's data on accidents occurring in the manufacturing and installation stages related to the elevator industry. This study analyzes the recent safety accidents of elevator workers and prepares safety measures to prevent them through the risk analysis, and also draws out the problems and improvements of the current elevator worker accident investigation to find the elevator worker accident rate that is on the increase trend.

This study is to analyse the causes of accident in small and medium-sized construction sites and to provide prevention strategies and system improvement guidance. Although occupational safety and health act regulates the standards and installations of temporary structures, about an half of construction accidents were caused by poor temporary structures such as guardrails, scaffolds, work platforms, etc. It investigated 51 construction sites which is located in metropolitan area by asking a series of questions including their knowledge about regulations and opinions about prevention strategies. The result shows that many of the respondents do not have sufficient understandings about the regulations, and it implies that education and training must be reinforced in order to enhance the safety-awareness and to develop the comprehension of regulations.

This study is undertaken to investigate the differences of accident characteristics between occupational deaths and nonfatal injuries in overall industry of Korea. The national statistics of industrial accidents in the years 1991-1994 were extracted from the annual publications of Ministry of Labor. To make the statistical comparisons for the accident characteristics, we derived the destributions of occupational deaths and injuries in terms of injured person's age, work experience, tiem of accident, activity at time of accident, accident type, injury type, injured part of body, and agency of accident. The results show that the distributions of the occupational deaths are significantly different from those of the nonfatal injuries in all characteristics investigated in this study. These findings indicate that the accident prevention programs should be developed and implemented by taking into account the characteristics of working environments based on accident analysis.

The purpose of this study is to attempt a systems approach to press injuries using Fault Tree Analysis. Three major techniques were used: Industrial Accident Dynamics (IAD) by which accident analysis can be made, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) by which quantification of accident analysis can be made, Computerized Algorithm by which minimal cut set to accident can be identified. A survey has been made of ninety two cases of press injuries from seven industrial firms. All cases of the accident are analyzed using the three techniques. According to the analysis, lack of safety knowledge and improper scaffold seem to be the primal cause of accident. Comparisons of the accident causes to actual accident reports (National Institute of Labor Science) demonstrates that the FTA is a powerful tool for industrial accident prevention. On the basis of this result, some countermeasures are discussed.

Previous literature has been investigated various aspects of accident occurrence and prevention in construction field. However, those studied were limited in that they only focused on the death accident without considering the loss time accident. Based on this, the goal of current study was to investigate the nature of the loss time accident, and compare the results with the death accident. Results showed that 1) the occurrence rate of death accident was significantly higher in the form work, temporary work, and steel frame work; 2) the temporary work showed significantly higher occurrence rate of the loss time accident and the death accident as compared to others; 3) ratio of the loss time accident to the death accident in domestic construction field was 50:1; 4) fall accident showed biggest occurrence rate in both the loss time accident and the death accident; and 5) more that 80% of workers in both the loss time accident and the death accident was between 41 and 65 years old.
