  • 25.8kV GIS part generated by sensors to measure contact an inflow of noise depending on the extent of the measured discharge occurs often not easy. Partial discharge signal measurement sensor suitable for developing a more useful measurements at the scene to this, partial discharge waveform analysis developed a sensor, and to utilize forSensor on the development of the most important is VSWR decided to (voltage standing wave ratio) voltage standing-wave ratio less than 1.5 and decided less than at the full spectrum bands that are measured, this time Return loss, as measured value by absolute criteria 14.0 dB produced the sensor, designed to or more. UHF 1.5~0.5 GHz bandwidth spectrum to be measured in GIS. UHF bands were designed to be able to measure the best signal. Recently, 25.8kV GIS production company has been increasing variety of GIS were made open spacer in partial discharge in accordance with the not very easy to detect the signal. The sensor is designed height of four cm external spacer is attachment GIS in an influx of outside noise measurement, and be so manufactured as to facilitate the least we've done. Also, since partial discharge which occur can measure the frequency of the 170kV GIS external partial-discharge signals that occur at the scene of insulation applied to the spacer. Features, and also derived good results using global positioning. Also measured discharge point about sensors that are stable and the reliability of the development and local substation equipment failure occurring signal analysis through the discharge for the prevention of widely. There should be to believe that used.

  • The mutual exclusion is originally based on the theory of race condition prevention in symmetric multi-processor operating systems. But recently, due to the generalization of multi-core processors, its application range has been rapidly shifted to parallel processing application domain. POSIX thread, WIN32 thread, and Java thread, which are typical parallel processing application development environments, provide a unique mutual exclusion mechanism for each of them. Applications that are very sensitive to performance in these environments may want to reduce the burden of mutual exclusion, even at some cost, such as inconvenience of coding. In this study, we implement Dekker's and Peterson's algorithm in the form of busy-wait and processor-yield in various platforms, and compare the performance of them with the built-in mutual exclusion mechanisms to evaluate the usability of the classic algorithms. The analysis result shows that Dekker's algorithm of processor-yield type is superior to the built-in mechanisms in POSIX and WIN32 thread environments at least 2 times and up to 70 times, and confirms that the practicality of the algorithm is sufficient.

  • This paper presents the status of nutrition education for older adults in Korea, and examines considerations in developing effective nutrition education programs for the elderly based on literature reviews. Finally, strategies of nutrition education for older adults in Korea are examined. Status of nutrition education were examined by surveying 90 senior centers, and 46 public health centers providing nutrition services. Most senior centers(96%) provided health education programs, however, nutrition was only a part of health programs. Among the 41 public health centers which responded to the survey, 73.1% provided nutrition education for older adults. The frequently covered topics were prevention & management of hypertension/stroke, diabetes, nutritional management during later adulthood, and osteoporosis. Common barriers in planning and implementing elderly education were; lack of educational materials for older adults, reliance on lectures, difficulty in following-up. To develop effective nutrition education, four stages consisting of needs assessment, planning and implementation of programs, and evaluation should be carefully done. Needs assessment might be done using quantitative or qualitative assessment. Factors influencing nutrition behavior of older adults can be systematically examined using a theoretical approach such as the PRECEDE-PROCEED framework. Qualitative methods, such as focus group interviews, also provide insightful information regarding the needs of older adults. In planning nutrition education programs, physical and pshychological changes associated with aging should be considered. Literature regarding elderly education suggest that active participation or participatory learning is also effective for older adults. Educational materials are developed following the principle of KISS and pre-tested. Program evaluation has been rarely done in practice, although it provides valuable feedback to the program. Strategies for developing nutrition education for Korean elderly include; performing needs assessment, developing a standard program by topics in a logical and systematic way, developing programs for subgroups of elderly, applying diverse education methods developing educational materials for the elderly, evaluating programs using simple tools, and delivering a nutrition program as a part of health promotion program. Finally, the interaction and communication between researchers and practitioners is strongly recommended to ensure better nutrition education and services to the elderly.

  • In a hyper-connected society, electric power infrastructures and information and communication infrastructures are the core of critical national infrastructures. However, electric power infrastructure is very deadly to high-frequency nuclear electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) threats recently issued by North Korea, so the resilience through rapid recovery after attack is directly related to the survivability of our country. Therefore, electric power infrastructure should take precedence over any other key infrastructure, with preemptive protection measures and fast recovery plans. In this paper, the characteristics of the HEMP threats was examined, and the risks and effective major protection measures of the electric power infrastructures are discussed. In the future, it is expected that it will be able to help establish the direction of enactment and revision of legal schems related to the 'high power EMP infringement prevention' for Korea's electric power infrastructures.

  • With the growing concern over frequent occurrences of criminal events, help-requesting mobile applications have drawn attention. However, existing applications solely focus on providing help-requesting services. Therefore, in this paper, we design and implement a help request and response process which allows users to request help by sending messages and locating their friends, acquaintances and even near-by application users, and to allow help be reached by forwarding messages. This application is composed of three parts: help-requesting, help-responding, and checking-status. This application is developed on the Android platform where we exchange users' longitude and latitude through web server communication. We conducted test to verify the effectiveness of the forwarding function, and it has been confirmed that 93.33% of subjects used the forwarding function to help users at risk.

  • A research project, the "Construction of Frailty Cohort for Elderly and Intervention Study," funded by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, has been ongoing since December 2015. The Korean Frailty and Aging Cohort Study (KFACS) aims to identify risk factors for adverse outcomes associated with frailty in community-dwelling older adults, as well as means of prevention. KFACS is a multicenter, longitudinal study, with the baseline survey being conducted in 2016-2017. The sample (n=3,000) consists of those aged 70-84 years, stratified by age and gender, recruited from urban and rural regions nationwide. An in-person interview and health examination are performed every 2 years. This project is also conducting many intervention studies. Project interventions focus on nutrition and exercise. The nutritional intervention study compares the effects of 1.2 g/kg versus 1.5 g/kg daily protein intake on sarcopenia and frailty in older Koreans. The exercise trial examines the effectiveness of an information and communication technology-based program in preventing or reducing frailty.

  • Recently, IITS (intelligent integrated transportation system) has been important topic in Smart City related industry. As a main objective of IITS, prevention of traffic jam (due to car accidents) has been attempted with help of advanced sensor and communication technologies. Studies show that car accident has certain correlation with some factors including characteristics of location, weather, driver's behavior, and time of day. We concentrate our study on observing auto correlativity of car accidents in terms of time of day. In this paper, we performed the ARIMA tests including ADF (augmented Dickey-Fuller) to check the three factors determining auto-regressive, stationarity, and lag order. Summary on forecasting of hourly car crash counts is presented, we show that the traffic accident data obtained in Korea can be applied to ARIMA model and present a result that traffic accidents in Korea have property of being recurrent daily basis.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the chaotic state of school education caused by COVID-19 and to seek the role of the principal in responding quickly to the national crisis. To solve this problem, 34 elementary school principals in Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Daejeon, and Jeju were surveyed with open questions through the first SNS on what leadership is needed to cope with COVID-19, and the second in-depth interview was conducted through phone calls. In the New Normal era, principal's leadership requires insightful and responsible leadership in supporting educational activities, class support, and problem prevention that can occur due to rapid response to crisis situations, rapid budgeting and input, and promotion of teacher-to-teacher communication, according to a survey. In crisis situations such as COVID-19, it is necessary to establish a role of principal for schools to cope stably and to establish an educational environment in which students learn in a safe environment. For this, national and educational policy support is needed.

  • This study measured the downward stepping movement relative to weight change (no load, and 10%, 20%, 30% of body weight respectively of adult male (n=10) from standardized stair (rise of 0.3 m, tread of 0.29 m, width of 1 m). The 3-dimensional cinematography and ground reaction force were also utilized for analysis of leg stiffness: Peak vertical force, change in stance phase leg length, Torque of whole body, kinematic variables. The strategy heightened the leg stiffness and standardized vertical ground reaction force relative to the added weights (p<.01). Torque showed rather larger rotational force in case of no load, but less in 10% of body weight (p<.05). Similarly angle of hip joint showed most extended in no-load, but most flexed in 10% of body weight (p<.05). Inclined angle of body trunk showed largest range in posterior direction in no-load, but in vertical line nearly relative to added weights (p<.001). Thus the result of the study proved that downward stepping strategy altered from height of 30 cm, regardless of added weight, did not affect velocity and length of lower leg. But added weight contributed to more vertical impulse force and increase of rigidity of whole body than forward rotational torque under condition of altered stepping strategy. In future study, the experimental on effect of weight change and alteration of downward stepping strategy using ankle joint may provide helpful information for development of enhanced program of prevention and rehabilitation on motor performance and injury.
